These actors are unfortunate casualties in this because they are the face of Disney’s painfully obvious affirmative action style agenda to push certain types of characters. Racism by definition is when you hold down someone based on race but it is also when you raise up someone purely based on race.

    1. Rob

      Exactly.

      1. Chris Wood

From what i read about the opinions about Reva, its that nobody likes the character. How is that racist? The serise is about Obi Wan, not about Reva!
Just like the star wars sequal were about Rey and Ben Solo, not some ex storm trooper named Finn or whether they show a gay couple kissing.

    2. Richard E

The issue isn’t her race in this instance, Finns character was Fine
Her character is just terrible. Same with the way they portrayed Leia as a whiny privileged child who looks no where near 10 years old.

      1. Heather

Technically, the actress is EXACTLY 10 years old.

      2. Rob

This is why left wing woke bigotry has ZERO place in movies. We don’t want to hear or see “gay” kissing or LGBTQRSTUV etc..indoctrination. We like the show for the story line but Disney has already told the world that they are the new LGBT gestapo & if you don’t agree then pick your flavor of Phone from the Democrats Left Wing Book of Victimization. I can’t even watch a DC series because it’s all about pushing gay/ trans indoctrination. Tell me 1 comic book that created these superheros pre 90’s where sexuality was a must needed part of a story.. it makes not only me sick but millions of others who no longer can enjoy anything without hearing about the race card or some LBBTQ crap.

Racist and racism also means a person who is prejudiced against or antagonistic toward people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized. And that’s what those trolls and so called fans are. They really need to shut up and dispense with their lies and blind hatred.

      1. Reggie

Nice biased reply lol “especially those marginalized” is racist more than someone saying a character in a show is terrible. I feel the same way about Tran on this; they have poorly written characters and when people called the show out for having poorly written characters in the front (jar jar Binks and he was CGI, is that racist too now?) The actors behind those roles got butt hurt and offended and threw a call out into the echo chamber safe space to make sure people tell them it’s not their fault, it’s mean cicwhitemen who can’t stand to see a woman of color succeed.

Tldr; being critical of a character in a story isn’t racist, but using your skin color to deflect honest criticism is.

The problem Is nobody has said anything racist they just say her character suck disney is using racism as a way of preventing hate for the show

Moses may have talent as an actress but I don’t like the Reva-3rd Sister character either. This Reva character looks totally out of place by comparison to the other inquisitor’s. This has nothing to do with skin color. The Reva character just doesn’t work well for the series. Unfortunately, Disney does indeed push affirmative action and a “woke” agenda. RIP Walt Disney.

  2. I don’t think it’s about race… I think fans are not feeling the actor fits… she feels out of place or forced… it’s a casting issue not a race issue…

    1. drew who

I think she has been miscast and isn’t very good in the part but after seeing come of the comments on youtube there is an element of racism too at work here . Which is a shame because it makes everyone who opposes woke culture look bad .

  3. Jason

Doesn’t matter if the reason you don’t like the character is legitimately related to performance or story. They will always claim racism. Plus they’re comments on privalage is ridiculous. If you’ve grown up in post 2000s America, you ARE privalage. Period.

    1. Katrina Tilley

You just read an article containing the word “privilege” and yet your spelling of it is still somehow atrocious.

  4. Lea Armstrong

I LOVE the actress who plays Reva but does she overplay the part? Yes, she does. However, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford overplayed their parts as well, in every movie but yet, fans overlook that. I HATE her character but that’s because she’s so mean. I was hoping someone would kill her off. Then there is John Boyega and for me, he was a perfect cast. He was funny, not really over the top and made you want to root for him to make it. The little girl that plays Leia…nailed it but that’s just my opinion.

    1. Fred Carr

This. Add Fisher’s Leia and Portman’s Amidala to that “overplayed” list and you have to wonder why such vitriol is disproportionately directed towards actors of color. Is the issue Disney/Lucasfilm forcing an “affirmative action” slant on the Star Wars saga? Perhaps. But in a saga filled with Wookiees, Ewoks, Twileks and droids, why is it so difficult to suspend disbelief over adding non-white HUMANS in the mix???

  5. Bill

I love how they don’t show any of these “racist comments”. I’m pretty sure most of the comments they are talking about are people just not liking the character, but because everything is about race, it’s a racist point of view to not like her character. Show me these racist comments. I don’t believe you.

  6. bluecollarcritic

Mosses Ingraham is NOT the victim of online racism because she’s a black woman in a Star Wars series. Yes she’s had very racists comments but who doesn’t see pure evil and vile comments online who is a an actor? This racisms excuse is nothing more than an attempt op re-direct attention away from the real problem, that Disney has trashed beloved characters before and is doing it again with this series not only by making Obi-Wan a weak old man who needs women, non-Jedi woman to come to his rescues including a little girl but the series that is supposed o be about him is dangerously closed to being the Reva Show.

  7. Chris

She’s doing a great job playing a villain. Her body language and tonation display her anger toward Obi-Wan.

  8. Mannny

You cannot make this style of comedy gold up! White actors piggy backing the ridiculous race card to try and justify Disney and Lucas Films horrible woke crap. Parents protect your children and keep them well away from any and all Disney venues or ventures.

  9. Mike

Lando Calrissian and Mace Windu, no complaints about them. No one is complaining about the 5th brother or Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen).

The screenplay of Reva is cringe. She felt whinny like Kylo Ren.

  10. TheChainmailGuy

I honestly haven’t seen any actual fan commentary that is racist in nature, and really nothing directed towards her or her character at all. The criticism is all directed toward the writing. Personally, her character hasn’t made a big enough impact one way or the other for me to really have any thoughts about her at all. Disney seems really intent on pushing this rhetoric and refusing to address the problems in the show’s writing.

  11. Bill ho

    Dear Clueless Disney Executives,
Why did you call this show “Kenobi”? You should have called it “Reva”. If you did that there would be no backlash. Stop calling fans racist because they dislike bad story writing and bad character development.
