Didn’t know that was even a possibility… And what do you get if you do pull the sword out of the Stone? Do they at least give you a t-shirt or something?
Yes you get a metal with purple neck hanger and a decree that you did it. Mine is framed. Did it years ago when 6 yrs. old had it for years people ask all the time how did you get it. They wizard was a very nice old man. I will never forget him
I had no idea the sword even moved. We’re frequent visitors of Disney World and we stopped for a one day visit to meet old friends and break up a long drive. We were walking past and got in a short line of people then my daughter tried and the sword moved ( mind blown ) and we snapped some pictures. Then her younger sister who had already tried and it did not move, jumped up there before the sword went back down and she pulled it up to take a picture.
Yes. I was very fortunate to do so at the Magic Kingdom 3 to 4 yrs ago. The park has early opening and it was before the sun rose. As the sun rose over the horizon, I pulled the sword and low and behold it came out. Only my girlfriend and myself was there. My girlfriend tried right afterwards and no luck. Even as a grown man, I felt so lucky.
My now 19 year old daughter pulled the sword out when she was 5 years old. She got a certificate of princess for the day. She tried again this winter but no luck.
My son who is now 32, pulled the sword out when he was 4. At that time, Merlin chose someone from the audience gathered around to pull the sword. He would flip a switch when he let a child pull the sword. When the sword was removed, the child received a medal and a large certificate. My son still has those items framed from his childhood.
Same for me but I was shoved at them by my family. I was terrified and pulled the sword out. Still have the medal they gave me for it. But was seriously terrified at the time.
If I can pull the sword out of that stone such that I am deemed the king of Fantasyland, does that mean I can fire the entire perverse Disney management? That’s certainly would be a dream come true!
So if you think the “entire Disney management is perverse” then why do you use your perverted mind to follow them? You would be better off staying home and watching Teletubbie and Barney the purple dinosaur reruns on your home movie collection.
My sister pulled it out when she was 5. Now she is about to be 31. They gave her the medal and a crown and all the Disney characters bowed to her when they saw her. She was queen for the day.
Love it when people come out in support of a dictator. Makes them easy to sport at least. I’d tell you, you have your head some where but it looks like Trumps is already occupying that area.
awww someone sounds hurt they couldn’t do what mostly 5 and 6.year olds have done. it’s a ‘re thing my uncle works for Disney I’ve been to Disneyland and Disneyworld a d they let the sword come out randomly you know kinda like the 100th customer thing. I just don’t understand why u think people are lying you sound to be about.what 12?
I’ve pulled on that sword a hundred times, in visits over the years and I had NO CLUE it might actually release. I don’t know what I would have done if it happened to me. Like a dog chasing a car.
My Daughter Karlie was able to pull the sword from the stone in 2010 at the age of 10 in Walt Disney world. She even got a certificate that addressed her as Princess Karlie.
Over all the years we have gone to Disney, which has been 23 times, I have seen it done a couple of times. It is cute when it happens, it is usually kids and they are so surprised!! Loved watching it!
My brother pulled the sword from the stone in Disneyland when he was about 6 and then a bunch of cast members but a kings robe on him and carried him off. My Mom missed it and came right after. She asked where he was and I said some people carried him away but right after I told her that he returned with a picture of him in the robe and a kings crown. He is not 39. My son pulled it out in Magic Kingdom like 5 years ago.
My 10yr old daughter pulled it out 2 months ago when we visited.
There’s a cast member nearby so they obviously had some magical intervention, but denied it when I asked :).
My son pulled it out when 7 or 8 . He is now in his 40s. He wore a cape, crown the sword. I think he got a certificate. The pictures we took – the surprise on his face – very special day!
I pulled the sword out. It was my honey oon and I wanted Disney photos of my new husband and I around the park in our wedding attire. I was in my wedding dress and thought it would be a fun photo the bride trying to pull the sword so my husband was taking my picture. I was so shocked it actually moved. Best moment of our honeymoon!
I was one of the Merlin’s back in 1993-94, who performed the ceremony. That sword, back then, was pulled from that stone, at least 6 times a day. There was a technician atop the Snow White ride that flipped the switch, which turned a magnet on and off. The magnet held it in place, until the time was right. I’m not sure how they do it now.
Holy cow, you might have been my Merlin then! I was about 6-7 on a family trip in 94, when the divining rod picked me from the crowd and I pulled the sword out! I was so excited because sword in the stone was one of my favorite movies when growing up. Merlin said I could make any rule I wanted, but before I could say anything, a comical alarm clock cut me off, signaling that my time as king was over. I got a very cool medallion and a certificate as official “temporary ruler of the realm”. I still have those somewhere
Never got to pull the sword out but my son got to open up Mexico at Epcot one day! He got to cut the ribbon before we all got to enter it! I got it all on film, it made his day! He is such a Disney nut, he collects pins too!
This is odd. Earlier today I saw another video of Jojo. During the daytime. And a female friend also pulling the sword out of the stone. Then he tried and no go. So she tried again and clearly stated she’s not feeling it this time, but she was still able to lift it. And then he tried no go and then she did it a third time. So maybe he’s not lifted the sword once, but he has witness to at least two people who have.
Like so many other people here, I pulled the sword (mostly) out of the stone when I was a kid – maybe 7 or 8ish I think (it’s been over 20 years at this point). You get to be “king for a day,” you get a cool medal to prove it, and the actors would like bow and stuff as I went by if they saw the medal.
I’ve been to Disney World 3 or 4 times in my life, and being king for a day is probably the most memorable and cool story I have from all those trips. I’ll never forget it.
We were Just on my sons make a wish trip there and he pulled the sword from the stone, he was so excited, he did it 3 times and everytime he pulled it. But he didn’t get no certificate or anything.
I bet he or she or inbetweenness’s son of the Disney owners who “magically” pulled out the sword when strong men can’t do it. Cheater world we live in.
My Dwight’s pulled the sword from the stone at Disneyland at age 4. She was presented with a purple ribboned medal and a royal proclamation signed and given to her by Merlin and the Fairy Godmother. Back in early 2000 it was a big ta doo. I didn’t think they did it anymore. It was such a memorable day i had it framed and it has its own wall in her house she is now 25.
I was able to pull it out when my cousin and I visited WDW in 2010. I thought it came out for everyone tbh. Luckily my cousin caught the moment on camera!
I interned at Disney World and have visited there numerous times, but I never heard of this Sword in the Stone challenge! Is it something relatively new? I think the last time I was at Disney was prior to year 2000.
So you actually don’t pull the sword out of the stone, you merely lift it up a foot.
It’s obviously on a random number generator that every so many attempts it finally disengages and allows the sword to rise up.
My girlfriend and myself did it last month and we are late 20’s. Another kid did it a couple of people before too. We got nothing other than a photopass pic to prove it.
I also was a lucky sword puller, I got crowned king for the day, didn’t have to wait in any line in Disneyland, I have pics of it, they did a big ceremony with Merlin and trumpeters, was a memory I’ll never forget!
They sit in a nearby building and watch and wait. They USED to do this for children, it’s a shame Disney isn’t for kids anymore. Went for our very last time last week. We will NEVER go back again due to the lack of service, woke agenda and adults who still think they’re children.
I did it when I was still in pigtails. I didn’t get in any line. We were standing around watching the show and a couple of Merlin’s jesters came up to me and asked if I wanted to try. Merlin made me try 3x. 3rd times the charm, I guess because it lifted right out. I got a framed picture of me wearing the crown with the wizard Merlin. Pigtails made the crown lopsided. Lol. Also got a certificate that named me Queen of the morning at Disneyland. I still have both 40 years later.
My 3 year old pulled it out about a month ago. Had zero clue it was rare to do so we didn’t make a huge deal about it… took a picture and went about our day lol.

Lovely idea, I wish Disney focused on these little things that mean so much more often.
P.S. please remove Bob Chapek and the board, we need fresh blood that will bring back that missing Disney Magic.

Sure a park employee is watching and has a release button or something to let a person pull the sword out thinking they actually pulled the sword out

Who cares it’s still a nice feeling when it happens.

No. It’s magic. A person with a switch…come on now…get a grip.
