The holiday parties used to be amazing–back when they didn’t cost 150% more than a regular day ticket, AND they actually limited the crowds. It was great to get on E-ticket rides with virtually no wait, and to be at the parks when they were 1/3 less full. It’s been a long while since they were like that, though, as the last two holiday experiences I went to were so crowded they just weren’t worth it–and that was when they had been raised to only slight more than a full-day ticket. With the price now and the crowd size being virtually the same or worse than a busy day it’s just not worth it anymore (like most things Disney these days, it seems).
Agreed, it was nice when holiday events were 1/3 or 1/2 the price of a regular ticket (which makes sense since you are only getting a small chunk of the day), and they greatly limited attendance so you can literally do every ride in 5 minutes.
It was a fun experience being able to do every Disneyland Ride 2-5 times a night.
