LOL. Yes, everyone Lightning Lane is a scam. It’s designed to create artificially long lines at all LL rides. Stop buying it. Also, time the free line, it’s always shorter, sometimes half what’s posted by Disney. It’s really outrageous. I read that the LL is very unpopular at Disneyland and DCA. That’s awesome.

Went today and I kid you not, the guardians of the galaxy line for the lightning lane was wrapped 4
Times around, while stand by had 6 people in line. The stand by line was quoted for 85 minutes. People in stand by were exiting off the ride by the time we were finally entering the ride entrance.

This is untrue – Guardians doesn’t even have a stand by line, it’s all a virtual queue. Get your facts straight.

      1. Other Brad

        Guardians at Disneyland, not WDW

      2. Natasha

Guardians of the galaxy drop tower ride NOT the new rewind at WDW. Please pay attention!

Here’s what people need to do. Buy the Genie + on a credit card. When you encounter these crowds take pictures, then dispute the charge on your credit card. There are consumer clauses with credit cards that are “Product not as advertised.” That enables consumers to get their money back.

Have at it and hit Disney in its pocket book.

Don’t go to Disney. Try something fun and not frustrating!

It really is a scam. Its ruined the magic of Disney for us. When I asked at guest services about not being able to get on 2 of the main rides with genie + her response was but you’ve used it on 2 other rides so you’ve got your money worth already. Even though there was no lines when we arrived at the 2 lightening lanes we’d booked and waited for. She told us to wait in the line like everyone else for the rides we wanted, even though 1 said it was 180mins long! With a 6 Yr old and 8 Yr old that’s not possible. The whole things a scam. Disney himself must be turning in his grave. So disappointing.

Disney has been ruined for everyone. I can not believe the parks are like this now. I do not plan on ever going back to any of the parks. And oh the price gouging that has been going on is absolutely awful. Disney needs to start cleaning up their acts.

When they announced the Genie system, I laughed. All this did was create 2 lines. One for those who stand in line for free. The other for those who paid to stand in line. Thanks but no thanks Genie. If I had one wish left, you would be back in your bottle.

Here’s a joke, What is Genie+ 🧞‍♂️ Poof, your MONEY 💵 IS GONE 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That’s what it is. Anything being SOLD BY DISNEY, is just MORE MONEY 💵 in the COMPANIES POCKETS 🤣🤣🤣 And the SHEEPLE 🐑 FALL FOR IT “EVERY TIME!” 🤣🤣🤣

I loooove everything Disney, including what the parks were supposed to be. As it is now I’ll never go there. The prices are insane and it’s all about money, not about having fun.

Show of hands, who all saw this coming from light years away

Have you been to aNational Park lately in the summer? You thought Disney is crowded with a lot of people, you might be surprised.

I live in Ohio with two of the world’s largest amusement parks and yes I buy the fast lane. I’ve never waited more than 15 minutes while regular lines can exceed 2 hours…Why becase they limit the number of passes sold that day.

Yet another reason I’m letting my ap expire this year. Disney has really let itself go, and it’s sad. Maybe in a few years I’ll take another look.

The only way Disney World and Disneyland is going to get better is when people start voting with their wallets and stop going while the prices are ridiculously expensive and there is less of an magical experience. I would recommend alternatives such as National Parks.

    1. HatesCrowds

Obviously you’re not aware of the the huge crowds at National Parks. People are everywhere now and all of them want to have the experience of a lifetime and are frustrated and angry that other people are in the way.

      1. What

What are you waiting in lines for at a National Park? Hiking? Swimming? Canoeing?

        1. Duh

Waiting hours to even get in the park because there is no parking available.

          1. What

Interesting, we have two national parks within 50 miles and I have never seen a line except to get a pass if you don’t have one. Those lines are usually two or three cars. Lot’s of parking at the trailheads because there are so many of them. One of the lakes is lacking on parking but if it’s full there are several more to choose from.

          2. What

Oops, I guess one of them is a state park, but beautiful and defiantly a big tourist destination.

I had a okay time using the new system, I managed to average about five lightning lane passes per day when I was there in may. You have to be strategic about it and wake up early to start the day, but if you’re already up like me it’s not a big deal. Even added a few paid options to squeeze in the attractions we wanted to experience and it was great!
