Why ditch Academy Award-winner, Brie Larson and reboot. We have a whole backstory and she is now a savior for the whole universe regardless of any comic book elements, especially given Disney’s casual disregard for the coming books canon in many films.

    1. Anona

Theyre not ditching her. If you read the article, Brie will still be the live action Captain Marvel

      1. Victor Nazarian

The article says these Captain Marvel comic stories will take place in present day. Why ditch Academy Award-winner, Brie Larson as the model in the comics for her version of Captain Marvel. We have a whole backstory and she is now a savior for the whole universe regardless of any comic book elements, especially given Disney’s casual disregard for the coming books canon in many films.

Why not show us more of what she’s done out in the universe rather than reboot with a new individual and complicate canon even more?

        1. Matt

I agree, stick with Brie Larson…period

        2. Bill

Wtf are you talking about? Canon? Since when does comic books have any canon relation to the movies and vice versa? The current CM isn’t based on the movie….nor does the movies effect ANY of what happens in the comics. CM was NEVER based on Bri Larson. What are you on about?

        3. Frankie

Because that storyline is a BS ONE THAT’S WHY SMH FAKE FAN

        4. Dwain

I’m thinking Brie becomes Biary, leaving the Captain spot open for Genis? Seems simple enough…considering how the MCU is already a convoluted mess that rarely matches any of the 80 plus historic years of the comics. I would love to see some “comic” accuracy in the modern films.

        5. Desto

Reading must be hard for you, Victor

      2. The dude

You should try reading the article. It’s about the comics.

    2. Greg

The comic books never use the move actresses. They would have to pay for that, and I doubt it is in their budget.

      1. Jalyn Breeze

Ugh, using the photos from the movies is clearly clickbate. I thought (at first) the MCU was going to roll back to Marvell.

        1. Kyros

I totally thought the same thing.

    3. Steve-O

They wont–as the other commenter mentioned this change is only regarding the comics. The ‘comic universe’ and the “MCU” are still vastly different in a lot of ways, so this happens very often in the comics–sometimes the movies follow the storyline (i.e. Jane Foster becoming Thor for a while happened several years ago in the comics universe) but more times than not they don’t. I can’t imagine they’ll replace Brie Larson anytime soon–they signed her to ‘multi-movie’ appearances, and those contracts work both ways.

    4. FrogStar

Captain Mar-vel was a white man first my dear.. suckit up..screw Brietard

      1. Cats

Go back and finish high school please.

        1. Diesel

It’s amazing how many people clearly didn’t read the article or understood it if they did read it. It clearly states the change is in the COMIC BOOK not the MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE.

    5. AJ

      Not really bright, are you?

    6. Charles

      A) because it’s not a reboot

      B) because most people can’t stand Brie Larson OR the current version of Captain Marvel

      1. TJ

There are way more Supporters of Brie then those who don’t. Where’d you get your info? Your opinion doesn’t qualify as facts.

    7. Anthony

Well, because the first caption marvel was MAN, not women. And when Brie Larson captain story is not even the right story!. The female captain marvel came after the original captain marvel was Dying, before he died, he transferred his powers to HIS WIFE!.. and that how you got the first female captain marvel.. so, they are gonna do it right this time… finally

    8. Michael A

Since the ’90s Captain marvel ran for 15 years and it was rebooted five times because nobody bought them
      Nobody liked Captain marvel.
And that was just the comics.
There is was so many great actresses to draw on for Captain marvel, They only chose Brie Larson because of her wokeness.
Honestly her acting is so wooden its ridiculous.

    9. Robert

      Because she sucks

    10. Chris

I 100% agree with you. I would like to see her continue as Captain Marvel especially since Ms Marvel looks up to her as her personal favorite. I believe it was already announced that both of them would be in a coming movie. Brie Larson was a great choice and I’d personally like to see her as Captain Marvel a few more times

    11. Jack

Actually read the article bud, it’s about the comic, not the movies…

    12. Blurchie

Cos the actor is annoying an most people dont like her haha

  2. Lori

It literally just came out! Wtf, why do we have to reboot everything. She’s female in the comics! Leave it be.

    1. Greg

It’s a comic book series, not a movie.

    2. Luis

It would be great to hear and think the same way when the original characters are male or white. So yes, why reboot when that’s the case? No need for reboots.

    3. RORMachine

It’s referring to the comics. As for Captain Marvel’s sex, CM was a male first but it was okay to change the sex then wasn’t it? Even had to change Mar-Vells sex in the movie. Shut the fk up.

    4. Shawn

It’s not a reboot. There can be more than one captain marvel at one time

    5. Not the first captain marvel she isn’t the first captain marvel was marr-vel,Carol in the comics was miss marvel before becoming the second

    6. Male rights

Actually the original comic created by Stan Lee captain marvel was a male

    7. dragosouce

Because she has the Worst selling comic in comics?

  3. Ray2x

The problem isn’t whether Captain marvel is a man or a woman. By all means leave Captain marvel as a woman. The problem is all the woke crap y/sjw you keep putting in your films. Not to mention your support for grooming Disney

    1. Greg

Support for? They are owned by Disney.

      1. Sean McGuire

And they would be nothing without fans. Fans are the only reason they exsist.

        1. Ashley

Actually fans are the reason disney own them. Fans have ditched marvel to the gutter to the point marvel was about to go bankrupt and then disney stepped in and bought them out. Fans are the reason they nearly went bankrupt and disney are the reason they could rebound and end up where they are now

    2. dragosouce

I have gay friends that call them groomers.
Federal transvestite women and transvestite men on YouTube they call them groomers. Not to mention we’ve had about 20 arrests a month at Disneyland of human trafficking. With the opinion of many that the only reason Disney World doesn’t have as many arrests as they might be hushing it up since they own their own police. When they actually become a non-private city we might find out the truth.

      1. Zwis

Poe’s Law in effect. It’s impossible to tell whether this is parody or delusion

    3. Zwis

But pretending people don’t exist isn’t “woke,” and advocating support for kids that are different rather than supporting bullying and so-called parents that drive them to the streets or suicide isn’t “grooming.”

  4. Delena

First of all Captain marvel was originally a man in the comics and if you don’t believe me you can look it up I googled it to make sure I was correct

  5. NP

I wouldn’t trust anything this site has to say about comics. This new series could be a multiverse version. Whatever the case, the mega-confident, socially-inept, alcoholic Colonel Carol Danvers we know and love isn’t going anywhere. Maybe she’ll take on a different role, get stuck in a different dimension, etc. My bet is a short hiatus while this Kree dude has his five issues, then a new Captain Marvel #1 starring Danvers and Chewie.

  6. Brandon

Still won’t watch another Marvel or Pixar movie as they seemed to be so focused on LGBTQ messaging. Even a freaking dog movie had two gay guys on screen and my youngest daughter was asking if they were gay. I sighed and said “their trying to get thet message across”. It HAS to be in every marvel movie, Disney movie. I’m SO tired of it.

    1. Chihova da God

I’m tired of having to watch white guys everywhere. It’s so exhausting. Can we get some fait representation for once???

    2. Marcos Delibra

Gay is the in thing right now. It’s not going anywhere.

    3. Diesel

Oh no whatever will Disney do now that YOU won’t watch them…I guess they’ll have to just move on then

  7. Joseph

I’d actually like to see it, IF it’s a movie where she maybe sits down and is told the story of the original Captain Marvel where the movie is mainly about him and maybe the storyteller makes her realize she’s capable of SO MUCH MORE than what she already knows, and maybe the last fifteen or twenty minutes of the movie have her unlocking new abilities fighting in a battle with others as strong as her and the others that are there with her maybe throw in a few really big monsters

  8. kebabhouse

wow everything have to be white man, this is a waste of time and no we don’t need the reboot.

  9. Jay

I actually kind of hope they do end up replacing her with a different character. They replaced Captain america, they’re replacing hawkeye, they’re replacing black widow, they’re replacing just about everybody else. I don’t see the problem in replacing a actress like her especially when she has been such a terrible representative of the comic books. Heck most of the actors that played in The Avengers didn’t really like being around her anyway. Honestly I would like to see Monica rambeau play the character full time

  10. Knight

The reporter who wrote this article, needs to do better research.

The original caption marvel , he did not die in the line of duty. He got cancer and died.every marvel hero visited him. The story was amazingp He for a time was the first one to bond with Rick Jones when Rick was still a teenager

    1. Diesel

FINALLY some one who actually READ this book before!

  11. Mark641

If Canon is a real consideration then BL’s CM would lose her powers to Rogue.

    1. Fred

And she’d be a raging alcoholic

  12. Fred

The real Captain Marvel is DC’s (originally Fawcett’s) Shazam. It’s asinine he can’t use the name. He’s been around since the 40s.

    1. Ranger

if you knew the full story then you know DC only has their selves to blame as it was them who sued Fawcett at the time for copying Their precious Superman and settled out of court that they would no longer produce him. After a couple of years of no Captain Marvel Marvel comics saw the opportunity to take the title of their namesake comic brand for their own hero. Then DC years and years later after that bought the rights from Fawcett and then got butthurt when they realized they could no longer use it as Marvel has copyrighted it. So you have Superman to blame not Marvel

  13. Ronnie

    Because she’s a biatch.

  14. Harvey Neufeld

This is without a doubt the ultimate in stupidity on MARVEL’s part and will defeat the whole purpose of having had two of THE Most POWERFUL Marvel of all their superheroes—and won’t be worth watching…Get real!!

  15. Arnetta

Why does Marvel need to “reboot” story lines over and over? Can’t they get creative and promote new stories with new characters, new heros, etc??? I’m certain there are plenty of talented writers and artists that have so much more to offer then what the Marvel business decision makers are backing.

  16. Brennen Peter Ivy

I thought Shazam was named captain marvel?

    1. Flash

He was. And that’s like a whole thing…

  17. Nyanners

For everyone crying about “how could they replace brie larson?” Which, if I’m being honest, I would feel absolutely nothing if they replaced her with literally anyone or anything else.

“Marvel starts new comic series, unrelated to mcu as 99% of comics are, based off classic Captain Marvel character.”

  18. Zabi Khan

She is fine! Marvel shouldn’t carried away like WARNER to reboot and reboot almost everything.
    Besides I like her.

  19. Anna

WTF marvel have only have 2 movies where the mc is a women captain marvel and black widow the rest are men I think marvel should be working on giving women more representation not LESS!

  20. Steve

Probably going to be made gay.

  21. Leon

Has too be Blue marvel or Monica rambeau, in the third movie

  22. Jim

Brie Larson is an interolerbla, acidic block of wood. She’s toxic. And her comics counter- part is unlikeable and can’t carry a series to save her life. Ditch her. Bring back My ar-Vell
