I’m a castmember. Last week as a guest a 3 – 4 ft non venomous black racer snake appeared in the Fish n Chips eating area. I grabbed it and escorted it over the wall into some vegetation. Bit me twice but I think it was more frightened than those of us enjoying our meal.
We once saw a harmless black racer snake in the landscaping while waiting for a bus at our Port Orleans Riverside resort. Being from SE Louisiana, this if course was an ordinary thing. We calmed other visitors waiting for the bus explaining this was a common, non venomous snake who was more afraid of us then they were of it. Rule of thumb for Florida, Louisiana other Gulfcoast states. Where there is water, there could be gators, where there is vegetation, and or water, there could be snakes. Most are harmless , looking for shade and a snack of frogs, lizards, small rodents. Always best policy to keep your distance and alert a castmember though.
wild..they are all wild and it is Florida..and where there is water there is likely a gator or two..and the black snakes are good ones..they keep poisonous ones away and also keeps rodents at bay. We have seen gators at MK a lot..also have seen giant snapping turtle by Big Thunder on land not water.
True, he’s just a baby but Gators at WDW are no joke. Have seen many large adults traveling back and forth to Wilderness Lodge. There have been a few incidences involving gators. We were witness to one tragedy in 2016 while staying at the Grand Floridian. It is their habitat so just beware and do what the cast members advise.
As a Floridian who saw YouTube videos of Disney World guests having alligator sightings whenever one was in the parks it was always in Frontierland. This is Florida we are talking about and Disney World was built on swampland. Not to mention Bay Lake might have a lot of them because in Florida when it comes to lakes and gators when there’s one there’s one thousand. Just be happy people haven’t found venomous snakes yet.
You’ll never believe this, but my handheld .32 revolver once saved my life when a fifteen-foot gator showed up. I was out walking through the swamp with a buddy of mine when this angry mama gator showed up in front of us. Only then did I notice five or six of her babies behind us. Friends, let me tell you, you don’t ever get between a mama and her babies, whether it’s a gator or a bear or Sheila from the mobile home park. So that gator came waddling toward us, and I pulled out my trusty .32, aimed carefully, and shot my buddy in the knee. Best $170 I ever spent.
Could adding some kind of deterrent or decorations help keep gators in the waterways? I’m very scared of gators and snakes. I prefer Disneyland, no offense. But I will never forget the tragedy of the little boy at the hotel.

beautiful gorgeous
Shades of Green had a gator near the drive going in. We were warned to move quickly if we walked to Polynesian.

Remember, you don’t have to outrun the gator. You just have to outrun the person you’re with.

It’s freaking Florida! There are gators everywhere! This is much ado about nothing.

I have seen a gator in the waters at frontier land before. It was pretty small. It is Florida, they are everywhere.

You are in Florida. Gators live here. Deal with it.

Bob Chapek was furious when he found out the gator got in without a ticket.
