Keep Dr. Suess everything! Never, ever give in to the PC woke mob. In fact make it bigger and weirder. I like the dark ride.

Do more Mulberry Street stuff, it bugs them.

    1. Beth

      Exactly

      1. Justin

I agree completely and the kids love it. It’s not hurting anyone..

    2. Michael

      AGREED!!!!

    3. Padovani

It’s for the kids! Sofa king tired of the PAB’s complaining about everything. Central Florida is a joke with all the mouse ear stickers on the cars, Big ass Mickey mouse Christmas wreaths, everything! Now you see the faded paint 😂 on the cars that removed the decals not to be ass ociated with The Big Mouse (but in secret they still love it, and the kids do eat it all up). 😁🤣😁🤣

A “play area” is like a “relaxation room” at the Studios–
A placeholder when they can’t think of other ideas.

If it was because of the book, it would have probably happened more immediately, but in this case, think they wanted to move a better idea in.
(Hopefully a better retheming than the one the Trolly Train got.)

I am almost 60 years old and grew up on Dr. Suess. This PC bs is ridiculous!! Leave Suess Landing as it is. What ever the author’s political agenda may have been, is not reflected in his children’s books. I grew up reading them and read them to my own children. Stop caving to this mess, refurbish Suess Landing and get it opened back up!!

      1. Rob

Dr. Seuss had always been political. Lorax? Horton Hears a Who? Maybe you don’t really remember…

Just went there last Sunday, i was so offended that I was literally shaking. How dare they. They had the sneeches that were against stereotypes on the train ride, being indoctrinated to not see color. It’s disgusting. It’s almost as if the author hated racism and stereotypes and wanted to teach kids how to get rid of those thoughts. Unacceptable.

I’ve lost all faith in humanity. At 35 my generation is quite possibly the least racist in a century. And the establishment has started to push racism again. We grew up with multiculturalism. That’s going away now. I fear for the future.

    1. Kitty

Fellow 30’s human here to agree with the sentiment that our generation seems to have way more common sense based off of how we were educated. The future won’t look bright if the establishment keeps acting the way they are.

I was born 1970. I never seen Dr. Seuss as racist. I was brought up in a family of many different nationalities. Not once did I hear that his books contained anything racial til now. I love Dr. Seuss and will read books to my grand children WITHOUT racism in mind. If park needs to change name then change to the zoo.

Silentwidow, that’s because you keep falling for these articles and websites like this one that call everything “controversial” to get people riled up. It’s apparently the only way to get cIicks these days.

Just went there with my kids. It was the first stop before anything else. The kids loved it and didn’t see it as anything racist. My 21 year old would definitely have said something. The younger kids wanted to go back. Leave Dr. Seuss alone. Every child I saw looked extremely happy at the zoo!

  5. George Hartley

Jk rowling made controversial statements about transgender people, loose Harry Potter wirld,, dinosaurs are anti Christian, loose jurrasic park, the Simpsons lampoon everyone, superheros are offensive because they are human with godlike powers, heck. If people are offended by everything there, just close tge park down completely, I’m offended by liquor, and popeye…heck…
Just go to Dollywood, it’s less offfensive

  6. CJ

I don’t see Dr Seuss’s Section at Islands of Adventure going anywhere (unless a contractual agreement with Dr Seuss’s Estate is coming to an end, but I don’t don’t see that happening since Illuminations The Grinch (2018) was profitable and Grinchmas is part of every Universal Studios Theme Park post Thanksgiving) …

  7. Chad

More like lose all hope in humanity

  8. Stan

I’ve seen photos and videos of crowds at his recent rallies. The lack of people going is what restores my hope in this country.

  9. Who, me?

Yeah, your right. All those crude remarks he made and those awful tweets too!
But now thank God we have $5.00 a gallon gas, shortages of food and building supplies as well as the worst economic outlook in 20 years.
And you ask who could fall for Trumps line? Looks like you fell for Brandon’s.
The division is sickening. Why can’t people all just chill, go to a park without having to look for something to be butt hurt about? Why do all on the left preach “Tolerance,” yet have no concept of practicing it?

    1. Serby

Go woke, go broke, just ask Disney how that’s working out for them, last I heard $30 billion loss. Don’t listen to stupid people, losers!

    2. Well said. Thank you.

For everyone who’s clearly never even been inside Seuss Landing for longer than the five minutes it takes to get to the bazaar that leads into Hogsmeade and is just looking to start a pointless political argument , I’ve explored this play area. It may have left out the more offensive elements, but in all honesty the whole area is a huge waste of space. It’s a big maze with lots of little interactive elements to play with, but half the time those elements don’t work and even families with young kids tend to gloss right past it. Alot of that has to do with the layout of Seuss Landing, but that’s a whole other conversation. It doesn’t change the fact that the whole play area takes up about as much space as the Cat in the Hat ride show building. The space itself would be better served if it housed another family friendly dark ride, or flat ride, or even the long rumored Grinch-themed Mt.Crumpet family coaster. Something that would bring in more foot traffic and give Universal more incentive to promote that area of the park (and keep it better maintained).

    1. Matt

If I had to choose between the cartoon area with the 1920s & 1930s cartoons or Dr. Seuss land – I’d rather keep Seuss land. The few things in old Cartoon area (the water ride – is there anything else) that are worth a darn could probably be rebranded. I have never stopped to buy or do anything in the old cartoons area, only really the Marvel area. Seuss? I always do things with my smaller kids (4-8) in the Seuss area. Definitely not a waste of space. If you’re here with kids 10+ (or no kids) exclusively though, the Seuss area wouldn’t be important. Even my small kids didn’t like the old cartoons area except the water ride.

We went every year just for Seuss Land when are kids were little. This is so ridiculous!! Do not take Seuss land away. There is nothing wrong with this!!! This world is changing for the worst!! If these Gen-Z kids don’t like it too bad. These kids need to quit trying to change everything. DR SEUSS BOOKS ARE EDUCATIONAL.❤️ WE NEED TO FIGHT BACK FOR WHATS RIGHT

  12. Kelly

Finally !! Way to go !!! They brought this on themselves. We need to fight back ! The white race !!!

    1. The Patriot

You can say that Tony and Kelly have white pride.

    2. And Kelly, you’re just as bad, if not WORSE than Tony. People like the two of you, are what’s wrong with this country!!!

  13. Nique

People have too much time on their hands to hate everything that once was fine. Generations have been raise on Dr.seuss. also many have enjoyed the books. These are childrens books… not adults. Children have no hate until someone shows them how. Too many unhappy people in the world who just want you to be sad and mad like them. If you don’t like the books don’t read or buy them.

  14. J

Passholder here of 13 year’s and I’m 34 gtfoh with the PC bs. Us conservatives are done bowing down to woke business. Look at Disney stock has lost billions since going woke. If universal takes out Dr. Suess I’ll cancel my pass like I did disney.

  15. Leslie

Yes. How dare we bow down to the minorities we’ve been allowed to trample for hundreds of years. Your white money has 3/5s more power so “gimme what I want!”, right?

Well, you say you know who you are. Good to know you recognize you’re an ass.

  16. Leslie

Because wanting all people to be treated equally and women to be able to make their own health care decisions is lunacy. 🙄

    1. Just HAD to bring abortion into this, didn’t you? If we legalize abortion, then ALL of the murderers should be released from prison. And future murder suspects not even brought to trial. If we legalize one type of murder, then it should ALL be legal. Because in reality, there IS no difference.

      1. Chuck

But capital punishment is okay or sending troops to kill other people is gine?

  17. I live about ten miles from where the Great Suess grew up.
It’s disgusting how all of these P.C. Snowflakes try to change his brilliant work just because one person might be “offended.” SHAME on all of you.

  18. Scott

Everyone calm down. They are just removing the rubberized flooring and replacing it with new. Something they do every couple of years due to the deterioration of the rubber

  19. I take it that you aren’t White, with that racist remark. It’s people just like you, why there is so much hate and trouble in this country.

    1. Kelly

Suzanne it’s people like YOU that sit on your ass and don’t speak up!!

  20. Connie Teal

Leave Dr Seuss World alone!! We love visiting it at Universal and spend quite a bit of time there! My grandsons are 9 and 11 and the loved every part of it! My kids are 27, 30 and 31 and they love it too! Stop giving in to stupid people who find offense in everything in life!! If you don’t like it, stay away!

A sad fact for all you haters, kids are not born knowing of prejudice feelings, they are exposed to it by adults in their lives. Watch a 2 year old at a playground, they see each child as an equal “playmate” not a black boy, an Asian girl, a white, yellow or any other example of color/ethnicity. They simply see a playmate/friend. It’s when an adult “stay away from that —- child”!, that the child will question why they can’t play together. Adults taint their judgement. Let kids play, with each other, in play areas depicting magical worlds, let them grow up unbiased. Stop giving in to the media push of change!!

  21. Chris

I thought this was a theme park website. Please take your political views somewhere else. I come to read articles about theme parks. Let’s keep it that way.

  22. Belinda

Stop the madness already!!!! What about the rights of people who enjoy it????

  23. Karania401

No, Trump was the laughingstock of the globe…

  24. Casey

I think its ridiculous to even have “controversial” and “dr.seuss” in the same sentence. People need to grow a pair

  25. Jackie

Suess Landing is one of my favorite places. The colors, the kids, the laughter. It would almost be criminal to take it away. Many of us have learned to read, through Dr. Suess books. Another point is that I don’t know what we would do for Grinchmas! We love the Grinch, it is a family Whooliday tradition. Please don’t allow the PC BS to ruin a treasure.

  26. Bill

Are we seriously going to turn this conversation into yet another schoolyard pissing fight?? Grow up. Vote for whoever the heII you want and stop pretending like your political idols are the second coming of Christ. Cuz they’re NOT.
