Yup, they didn’t enforce masks at all. I wore mine but I tested positive immediately after getting home and I personally know of at least 6 others in the same boat already.

Oh no, I hope you have a quick recovery! Sending well wishes.

Well, yeah. My friend and I masked but it was disturbing how many weren’t out on the floor in full view. Some panels started to require masks but – yeah, getting the alert this morning that I was near someone who tested positive wasn’t exactly a surprise. Infuriating- but not surprising.

Wow. You must be infuriated all the time though. I’m sorry that sucks so bad.

They absolutely were not enforcing masks. None of security had them on, none of the staff had them on, maybe 30% of attendees had them on…it was awful.

I went, as a disabled immunocompromised guest, expecting that the health & safety of all guests would be considered. ReedPop / Star Wars Celebration had been adamantly promoting this, including the fact that masks would be enforced.
OMG, it was such a mess. They did NOT enforce mask use, they did not provide appropriate accommodations to guests registered as ADA, etc.
Even the folks working the event were maskless. I approached a crew member and inquired on why they weren’t enforcing masking when there were so many disabled folks, masked up the wazoo, and it was like I had slapped them silly. It was awful.

Yeah. They didn’t show any enforcement. Actually on the celebrity stage they had a singing contest in the audience they actually focused on a woman singing on the big screen with no mask. So much for lead by examples.

I definitely noticed right away. I had been at WonderCon in the same convention center just a few weeks before and everyone was masked and being told to mask when they walked into the building. It was like no one was even paying attention at Celebration. So many people are testing positive now. ReedPop should be ashamed.

VIP didn’t assure that you wouldn’t be seated next to a maskless attendee that would not put on mask if you asked nicely, one guy even said he didn’t have one. I walked out to the desk and brought back a few , he still wouldn’t wear it. DISNEY gestapo was more concerned about folks taking videos than protecting the health of attendees.

I did attend and wore my mask all times indoors. The staff did not enforce the mask rule at all. They were trying to hand out masks outside the meeting rooms on Saturday. People were allowed to walk right into the building not wearing masks. It’s true that there were workers who wore masks. Several of the staff in the Celebration Store were unmasked, this was a highly trafficked area during the weekend. I have since heard of a number of individuals who have tested positive since returning home. I myself was informed that i had been in contact with someone who tested positive. I was tested on Tuesday and was negative.

Masking was not enforced at all. I estimate less than half the guests masked, but the majority, including most of the staff, did not. My wife and I masked the whole time and our test results are negstive so far, but already have many friends comign up positive.
