Standby times for this have to be almost zero, since barf bags are needed and Disney is now Public Enemy One of conservatives. Nobody in the parks, right?

    1. EricJ

Nobody’s going to the parks right now, it’s too crowded!

It’s basically the same reason as the queasiness on Mission: Space or why you feel carsick if you read a newspaper while sitting on the seat over the bus wheel:

Motion sickness occurs when you gyroscopically feel your body moving in a different direction from where your perception thinks you’re going–if, for example, you’re watch a screen spin left while you’re spinning right or sitting still–and it’s not a good idea to experience that on a full stomach.
Mission: Space had its guest in a gyroscopic simulator, and you probably felt queasy if you turned your head to talk to your friends in the other direction from where you were spinning on “takeoff”.

Here, we’re seeing the downside to all those cool “Spinning vehicles” that can spin the guest to show them a stationary screen.

Nothing wrong with a good vomit. Clears the bowels.

    1. Nunya

When you vomit it comes from your bowels? Lol

      1. Leslie Gore

It’s my potty and I’ll barf if I want to.

      2. Scott D.

The guardians ride is *intense*. If any ride could make you vomit from your bowels, it would be that ride. As for me, I LOVED IT! Best ride at Disney yet!

Another over dramatized article title…… I just rode this yesterday evening and NOBODY I could see was “running for barf bags” at the end. It was an awesome coaster ride in the dark that goes fast and spins. If you are prone to motion sickness than, yes, this is not the ride for you. Simple as that.

    1. Mt

Good ride? I’m a true wussy. I barely tolerate space mountain. I’m apprehensive.

      1. Noel

Right!? Last time I rode Space Mountain I almost vommited! I’m getting weaker as I get older.

    2. Totally sick 8 hours barfing dizzy disoriented barely could walk my dad also don’t ride ever ruined my whole day🤮

  5. Mmg

I’ve ridden it three times. I didn’t see the barf bags or anyone with them. All I know is that it was an awesome ride!

    1. TMD

How have you rode this three times? I am going to WDW at the end of June and am very curious…

  6. M

Totally misguided. I can’t speak for everyone but, my son gets easily motion sick in car on a country road and didn’t get sick at all when he rode Cosmic Rewind- neither did I! Ride has speed but it’s ultra smooth and the coaster rotate in the direction of the trail

I was able to ride the ride 6+ times during a guest preview ( 3hr window), and didn’t have any issues. It’s a fun ride and look forward to riding it again, I would say not for those who have issue with motion sickness, if you can’t ride Space Mountain, you should skip this ride.

There is literally 1 inch of molded vomit inside of forbidden journey at universal. The guests can see it in domes if you lean forward and look down. So I think that ride is the winner. Known as the vomitorium.

My 15 year old daughter rode this ride this morning and within 10 minutes she had a gran mal seizure. She has focal epilepsy, but has never had a full seizure until today. The park needs to install signage about the significant flashing/strobing lights on this ride and warn people with Epilepsy about its dangers. Additionally, I was stunned at the amount of time it took for paramedics to respond to a medical emergency. We also found it disturbing that they chalked it up to a simple case of dehydration. She was convulsing and then fell unconscious…luckily my husband was able to grab her before she hit the ground—-these are not the typical symptoms of dehydration.

    1. Christine Roslewicz

They say that so they don’t get a law suit against them. Make sure you get all documents from hospital including whether she was dehydrated or not and see if hospital will keep her for 24 hours. I know they will probably do an eeg on her even another one sleep deprived. But also know that Disney will have someone up at the hospital too and they aren’t there to check on your well being but too stop a lawsuit. Good luck I hope your daughter gets better soon

    2. Diana norris

So very sorry to hear that! I hope she gets better soon!! Poor baby

    3. Tjk

I also had a seizure after riding. When i exited, they had an entire emergency med team ready for anyone who was sick – maybe they learned! I’m sorry to hear of your daughter’s seizure as it sounds more severe than the one I had. Hope she is feeling improved.

I agree they should warn about the lights. I get motion sick usually but that didnt bother me on this ride; the lights did. Reminded me of space mountain. Still an amazing ride but woweww my photo from the ride was bad since I was mid seizure!

  9. Marc

If that bad maybe the bags should be on the ride. Like airplanes!!

    1. Noel

That’s a good idea! Imagine not vommiting but being vommitted on!? That would definitely ruin someone’s day.

  10. Stephen Howell

I love the new guardians of the Galaxy rollercoaster ride!! That’s says alot especially when I don’t like rollercoasters that much. I would ride it back to back if I could.

  11. Mark Claveloux

The ride was super smooth and the combo of visual effects and music made it my new favorite. Much smoother and a lot more fun than Space Mountain. I didn’t see anyone getting sick from it.

  12. Scott D.

Hey, I can understand why some people would need a barf bag, but as for me, I LOVED THIS RIDE! It was super intense in all the right ways from the start to the end. I can’t wait to get another chance to ride it again.

  13. Jessica Russ

I thought it was amazing. My husband rode it just to say he rode it. He can no longer ride Everest and Rockin’. He actually says hee can handle Guardians. It is very smooth and pivots towards focal points. I don’t recommend it if you have any medical conditions but otherwise, I think this ride is just fine. I didn’t see anyone barf when we exited. Most were coming off with smiles commenting how awesome it was.

  14. Barfy McBarffer

I opt out of Transformers and Forbidden Journey at USO due to getting nauseous. I rode GOTG last weekend and had no issues. It is very smooth, there is a good deal of wind, and the seats are super comfortable. It is a good ride and like others have stated I did not see any barf bags being passed out or stowed on the ride for easy access. The ride was also moving people through the queue rapidly so they clearly were not stopping for bio cleanup.

  15. Hope

Noone was running for “barf bags” the few times we rode it. Wow. Just what kind of drama are they looking for? If you get motion sickness? And don’t want to risk it? Don’t ride it. Simple as that.

  16. Phil

We ain’t leaving til we’re heaving ! Sorry but this article brought back those College years ! I remember riding that ride as a young teenager but never got sick.
