I may be a tad critical, spoiled even, however, attractions and shows seem to just be going wrong all of the time. Is it just more attention paid on it now so it seems more often? Or, is Disney not focused on upkeep like they used to be. I feel that they still haven’t hired all of their folks back and that could have something to do with this? I’m just spitballing here. But I just can’t imagine the disappointment the guests feel when this happens. We’ve only had it happen once when we were there recently and we were bummed. It’s as if the attention to detail is missing or something. Like I said, I may be spoiled a bit, I won’t lie about that lol. And, maybe maintenance wasn’t done when the parks were closed, so everything is still rusty? I don’t Want to talk bad about the cast members because I know the vast majority of them work very hard to make the guest experience amazing. It really hurts my heart when I see guests treating them badly. They always catch the raw end of the deal because they are the visible representatives. So as bad as my experience may get, I won’t be rude to them unless they are being out of line first. Which I have never seen.
Lightning was in the area. You can tell in the video the wind was picking up and the day and time of the video coincides with a big thunderstorm that went though, because I was there and hid for cover about about an hour to stay dry.
It is standard operating procedure when a storm gets close enough and rain or a lightning strike is possible, in that case of that show, to stop the show immediately.
This is a COMMON occurrence. What do you expect Disney do do, perform in a downpour? OR lighting striking around them?
It’s amazing the common sense people on social media DON’T have. You can clearly hear the wind in the microphone in the video, and when it gets THAT high to do that to a microphone on a cellphone, it’s blowing HARD.
Cali?!?! That was at WDW…. The thunder and lightning storms hit fast and move through quickly, they can be very dangerous, and the video is a short clip, who’s to say the guests weren’t issued a cover warning?!?!
It does seem like the quality has fallen. Years ago we spent
2 miserable weeks at Port Orleans Riverside.. There we’re cases of empty beer bottles under one of the stair wells, there was a gang sign spray painted on one of the railings. When we checked in the room was just ok. But later there was water running down the wall we had unpacked everything for a 2 week stay. We went to the pool after a day at the park, it wasn’t late but some security guard came to the pool and yelled for ever to shut up or get out. But the worst was when I left my room key and called the front desk to have someone unlock my door. The person said what do you want me to do come unlock it for you.
I agree with your comment on how things went downhill when staying at Disney resort we recently stayed at the All-Star resort area because we figured we wouldn’t be in the room much so why spend the extra money but the room was filthy the floor was filthy we weren’t given enough washcloths when we made the request for extras because of there being two of us they still didn’t grant our request and never cleaned the floor quality has gone downhill
