I also was not told that the park would be closing early on these days when I purchased tickets months ago. Now we are stuck with having a half day in Magic Kingdom. I’m happy for the workers to be celebrated, but tickets for those days should be half price.
I’ve learned..I made a restaurant reservation at the Be our Guest restaurant at 5 in the morning, only to find after I made the reservation at the restaurant, the park closed at SIX. Couldn’t change the reservation to another FULL day, so we ate and left…waste of my money.

Planned on May 3 for magic kingdom with 4 first time people. Why was I not told about this when I bought the tickets. How will we be compensated?

Sadly, you won’t be. Disney be Disney in situations like that unfortunately and the ones who get screwed, the customer.
