We just attended Star Wars Nite last night (27th). The atmosphere was great. The special fireworks were awesome. Watching the First Order March through Tomorrowland was special too however the lines for anything were incredibly long. The line to enter the Savi’s shop was 3 hours. Lines for pictures for characters and photo ops were very long too. Everyone was concentrated in Galaxy Edge and Tomorrowland so we decided to take advantage of the shorter ques for other rides. Ques for Rise of the Resistance was over 70 minutes the whole time.
The special treats offered looked great, Princess Leah’ ice-cream seemed to be a hit because the line to get it was over 30 minutes, we didn’t get to have one but it looked yummy.. We did have some special menu food, it was very “gimmicky”. We had a “Dark side Light side cheese sandwich” that made us laugh. One side looked burnt and the bread didn’t match. It was greasy and not what we expected for Disneyland.
I think this event is only worth it if you geek out with the photo ops and character’s pictures. All Starwars characters are out but again, lines are long. Other than that, save your money and enjoy it on a regular day. Buy your merch without the long lines on a regular day and enjoy all the Starwars rides with much less wait any other day. Maybe if they do it again, they can lower the capacity and make it worth it. It is just a 5 hour event, do you want to spend 3 for special merchandise?
