I hate this park reservation thing. It’s a way for them to ensure the park is packed to the max every day, not to prepare for the crowds with enough cast members. There will be no down season again. We will have to get used to max capacity from now on. That why they haven’t released their “reduced capacity” numbers, they aren’t reduced. They are max. We are stupid.

I have been going to WDW for 35 yrs. Never again the Manaus just too greedy. You can’t be spontaneous anymore, just sucks.

June is going to be a busy month at Disney because it’s LGBTQ month. No big surprise here.

  2. Park reservations are a joke. Parks are not crowded! Check Disney app it will show you only a couple ride are crowded!

  3. Holly

The parks are insanely crowded. It’s ridiculous. We are taking our vacation dollars elsewhere.

  4. I expect the place to be over crowded! Fortunately, I am an EPCOT and ANIMAL KINGDOM fan. I do not care about the rides. I have done them all. If more people get fed up and vacation elsewhere, that is their prerogative. Have a great day everyone!

Yeah the crowds are worrisome. And I don’t think we will ever have “off seasons” again. So, after 15 years of going most every year we will be canceling our early December reservations. I’m sad.

  6. All I know is before 2020 you did not need reservations I think it’s crazy many people are complaining and leaving the idea of going to Disney the money they charge then not to be able to get in and have transportation from the airport without paying more and the extra money for certain rides they are just ruining thier own park for all

All of this. I’m not spending disney money to get there and not get into the parks. There was an out of COUNTRY family on my disney babies page who didn’t make reservation, flew over from England, and got to enjoy disney springs and their resort because there was no availability. No thank you.

  7. I think reservations are a great idea… Avoids over crowding & it Quality, Not Quantity!!! Not going to a Disney theme park when you want to, quit being a baby & book a reservation for the future… The staff, needs to abide by this & don’t do special treatment for anyone… Even rich famous people…they need to be on top of this & Not be lazy… Or maybe once a month open the parks at night, haha like in Houston TX they have zoo lights, a night time thing… Even open 2 hrs earlier once a month etc

This is such a non-story. July 4th has always hit capacity historically because it is a holiday with a special fireworks display.Thebpark pass system didn’t artificially inflate this. Christmas Day and New Years Even a d Day will also sell out, if they haven’t already so be sure to plan accordingly. It’s just common sense.

      New Years Eve and Day*

There is no magic at Disney any more. We went in December and the crowds were out of control. No ride wait was less than 90 mins. Impossible to find something to eat for lunch. NEVER going back!

      1. Meaghan

When I went as a kid in the 90s wait times for all rides when we went were 60-90 minutes, food lines always long. This was before fast passes or lightening lanes. Maybe we always went during “peak times” Any trip is as magical as you make it in my opinion. We have gone the past three years and while a little crowded still as magical as ever

  9. To each his own. My family does not want to micromanage our vacations. Never needed reservations to enter a park in past years. Don’t believe this is for the sake of crowd control. We are DVC owners. We’ll enjoy the hotel amenities and have relaxing vacations. No parks needed!

  10. Last year we made reservations for Epcot, it was supposed to be low season and it seems that it was going to be relatively empty. Comes the day and it was packed!!!
And with the construction, it was a difficult day.
Adding to that, the Trams were down because of COVID. Simply put, it was a Nightmare.

Disappointed as we are going to celebrate bmu daughters birthday but can’t even get into the 2 parks that were her first choice one of which isagoc kingdom and we are not going on a holiday weekend.

If it wasn’t for Star Wars I would never set foot inside Mickey Mouse’s human trap ever again. It is not worth the fortune it costs. Nature has better attractions anyway! Why be sheep?

    1. Donna W

It just sucks. I have been many times even during COVID.
Am planning to go again in 2023. Hopefully the reservation system will be gone.! Just extra work when planning. In 2023 using a travel agent too much trouble to do yoursel.f.

  13. Lex

Yeah I lost three day tickets using only one of the admissions because they expired before I could use the last two visits. First delayed due to cocos closures and then could never get in because dates were always closed way in advance due to the reservation system. I was told I had to use my dates before the expiration date but how could I when everything was booked!? Makes no sense.

Was at Disneyland in February 2022, it was not a happy place. Their internet access to heir new app genie + was terrible. Insufficient band width to deal with the volume of guests. The genie + was terrible It took turns kicking both myself and wife off. So We lost all our dinner reservations, ride times and locked out of hotel room and all Disney customer service said was sorry..
Oh they did refund $15 the cost of the privilege of using genie +.
Then Most of the attractions In Epcot were non operational.
Disneyland was much better back in the days of Disney dollars.
I don’t see any Disney experiences in the future.

  15. Patricia

Disney today is not the Disney of past..so expensive..long waits..reservations..donot get me started. We have given up our yearly passes..other ways to vacation

  16. Kevin

What do you expect after being locked down for almost two years? People are desperate to get back to some sense of normalcy. Went the last week of April and sure there were crowds but expected it. Nothing outrageous. Had no issues with the reservations, and the genie + was great. Took our time, chose what we wanted for the fast lanes, but even the regular lines were not really that bad. Holidays and spring break what do you expect? Adjust accordingly. Long time disney goer so not seeing EVERYTHING was fine with us. It will settle down. I just miss Pleasure Island. Wish they didn’t close that down. It’s not going to be like this forever. Give it time. Disney is not going away, but the crowds eventually will.

We just left WDW after the most fantastic week! The reservations were not an issue as we were given several notices about needing to make them. In the afternoon you do not need reservations so park hoppers can go from park to park as desired.

The only complaint I have is not being able to get into any of the full service restaurants. But looking at the bright side I saved a few hundred by not eating there. Disney is just as magical as it has always been you just have to put it in perspective. It was not exempt from all the covid stuff.

We’ve been several times since covid. Park reservations are a joke…parks are ridiculously crowded. Genie+ doesn’t work half the time (and who wants to get up at 7 am on vacation to purchase and plan). Parks are dirty…trash cans overflowing…this NEVER used to be an issue. I’ve been avoiding the studios due to the ridiculous overcrowding there except for Moonlight Magic (which was really nice). I’m hoping Disney shapes up soon…but fear it won’t happen without a MAJOR change in management…

I went today to Disney land in California and I will never go again yo many people ride u had to wait over an hour even with the gene pass. Staff very rude have the reservation prpses. In the other hand I went to universal and much better price.

  19. JobbyJane

Disney needs to expand and grow both parks have reached capacity. More land more attractions for more of us.

  20. Shar

The limiting started with Covid. They have to think about their employees too, getting sick. I didn’t like it when it’s was over crowded like before. Longer waiting lines. It’s a bummer you can’t be spontaneous though. Things will change.

  21. Melinda

Been going to WDW since 1976. Went in February and was so disappointed. The ‘Money Grab’ with The Genie was a major waste of time as well as the price. Disney needs to add at least 2 more parks to accommodate all of the guests at the resorts. They keep adding resorts, but parks are too crowded to visit. Been a DVC member since 1988.

Just got back from Disney and Universal after not having gone for almost 20 years. A LOT of changes starting with genie +. Used it at Epcot the first day and have to admit was not thrilled with having to get up at 7 a.m.. however booking our first Galaxy ride was pretty straightforward using Genie +. Then being able to book other crowded rides at two-hour intervals was actually pretty nice. Yes EPCOT is very crowded but the crowds were well-managed and the place was very clean. We enjoyed our day there. Universal the second day was more crowded and the unlimited Express Pass was well worth the money.
Third day at Magic Kingdom we arrived at around 2 and stayed through the fireworks. Mostly avoided the rides and the shows which were pretty easy to get into or very nice. The fireworks at Cinderella’s castle were unbelievable, but ungodly crowded. However getting out on the monorail to the vi
Villains parking lot was a lot easier than we expected it to be.

Overall a great couple of days, however in order to get the passes to the parks we had to purchase the Florida pixie annual pass. Which contains a lot of blackout dates and weekends but work for us.

Definitely do your homework before you go. After you go the first time I’m sure it gets a lot easier.
