Florida parents: don’t groom my kids.

  2. It sounds like Governor DeSantis has all contingencies figured out. Disney was spreading disinformation that Floridians would have to pay their debts. Disney stock holders need to remove Chapek and members in power that want to play with politics. Also stop selling Chinese merchandise; it supports slave labor and genocide of Muslims in China.

The tax burden Disney was covering by forming it’s own special district will still have to be paid, it will just default to the county. Most news stories I’ve seen are saying that Orange County residents can expect a 20-25% increase in their property taxes.

“If Reedy Creek goes away, the $105 million it collects to operate services goes away,” wrote Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph. “That doesn’t just transfer to Orange County because it’s an independent taxing district. However, Orange County then inherits all debt and obligations with no extra funds.”

Under state law, Orange County is not allowed to tax Disney extra unless it creates a new special district for Disney. However, to do this, the county would need the property owners inside of Disney (the company) to agree to take back the debt.

If the bond debt falls on Orange County, residents can expect to acquire between $2,200 to $2,800 in extra debt for a family of four.

The Florida House is expected to pass the measure on Thursday. If signed into law it would dissolve Reedy Creek, as well as five other districts in the state on June 1, 2023.

Yes, this is part of the new Republican strategy of “After We Win in November”.
Fortunately, I’m going to do my part after I win Powerball next week–I’m planning to speak out against it after I win Best Actor at the Oscars.

DeSantis still believes he’s “won” elections that haven’t been held yet, and the Reedy Creek wouldn’t be up for ballot in November if it hadn’t been for his big showoff mouth in the first place.

DeSantis is not playing with a full deck. This is purely a case of revenge. Disney made Orlando. It was a wide spot in the road before Disney came in. Disney took a stand to protect their cast members from DeSantis’ bigoted bill and DeSantis wants revenge. Let Disney stay as is. They’re footing the bill for everything in Reedy Creek. Now DeSantis wants us to pay for it. DeSantis needs to go.

      Spot on.

DeSantis is a great governor! Disney is not only too woke but does not want poor people in their parks anyway. Walt would be so upset as to what they have done to his company.

    1. Jill E. Bean

What exactly makes them “too woke”?

Sorry Cindy, but Ron is a bully and an idiot and doesn’t care about Florida other than as a platform for his national intentions. He and Dolt 45 both belong in a dumpster ~

Gee, I remember when Republicans actually were FOR big business,

DeSantis, What about crime, shootings, homeowners insurance being cancelled, high price of housing, and the condo collapse, making new laws to have condos inspected sooner?

It’s the Anti-Grooming bill. The word “gay” doesn’t appear once.

Why would anyone think it acceptable to groom innocent children for hours a day without parent’s knowledge?
