  1. Disney upgraded us once. I was using a scooter due to my disability and it was difficult to get around Port Orleans Riverside. I was able to transfer (walk some) so I didn’t request a handicap room. The kids wanted a royal room. In going to the royal room, we could not find ramps. We went back to the check in area. We asked for a map showing where ramps were around the buildings. They could not help us in that respect, so they upgraded us to a disability friendly resort, Wilderness Lodge. Thankful

It happened to us years ago, had a room at All Star Music and when we got there the Osmond family had taken up a large block of rooms and they upgraded us to the Yacht Club – no complaints there! Another time we were supposed to stay at Coronado Springs, we found out on arrival there was a convention of Grainger employees, over 2,000 of them! No way I wanted my children around a bunch of intoxicated guys – they very kindly found us a room at one of the All Stars, refunded the difference and 50% off one of the nights – this was back when Disney was still about the magic and not just money

It happened to my family the first time we were going to stay on property. I received a call that the All star resort was overbooked. They offered to move us to the Yacht Club at no additional charge. It was the best. We even had a balcony that allowed us to see the fireworks at both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Never stayed off property since.
