  1. I think the public has already moved on, but his actions continue to influence people like the maniac who attacked Chapelle. Currently, Will is laying low in a foreign land pretending to find inner peace. I think he will find peace after he divorces his open marriage wife.

    1. Mike F

I’m really not sure what people have against open marriages or open relationships? I keep seeing so much backlash against Smith and his family for this being a thing when really it’s no one else’s business but the parties involved.

Open relationships exist in numerous species and have always been a thing. If some people don’t want them, fine, they don’t need to have them, but this should not be any part of the argument here, mate.

Let the guy be with his family and let’s all hope he’s learned his lesson for the right reasons and not just for the wrong ones.

      1. Joan

The problem is not the concept of an open marriage. The problem is an open marriage for Will Smith……it clearly is not working for him. If you pay attention to their history, it’s obvious they continue to have issues. More importantly, he never seems to be happy within that relationship.

        1. Chandra

Will Smith is the best actor and he is human let him continue to be the great actor that he is….

          1. ECS

I don’t think they should get rid of him. Let Will Smith continue his career as a actor cause he is a good actor. Everyone makes mistakes. Just let him heal himself first. We love Will Smith. Praying for him🙏

          2. Javier

Heal??? From what?? He is the cause of the harm, not the victim. He physically assaults and humiliates another human being on the world stage and then cries in order to disguise guilt through pity, like a child that defies his mother and breaks the figurines. All for the attention of a woman who clearly doesn’t care for him. You choose to do it, you pay for the consequences.

          3. Vicky

He’s apologized, resigned from the acade.y, it may have put the final nail in his relationship coffin (whatever it may, none of our business) But throwing him out of future projects is like your boss, or.mine saying you know that speeding ticket you got last month?? Well, you’re fired!! Extreme, over the top consequences. Think about it!!??!!

          4. Kelly

He hasn’t apologized to the person he actually slapped on live TV.

          5. Kelly

I Agree with this person what she said keep him in movies he’s an Awesome Actor in Movies

          6. Mel

Chandra I agree. Will Smith is a good actor and he is human everyone need to move on and let the man get back to doing what he love. Everyone makes a mistake. People act like he killed someone, why we always have to make a big deal out of the small things. There are much more important things to be worried about. Let it go and move on already.

          7. Lala

I will never let my children watch anything with him involved ever again!

        2. Brenda Lumpp

He needs to be blacklisted from Holkywood. They have done it many times to people that supported the POTUS at the time or does he get treated differently because he’s black?

          1. Michelle

Well there you go – sooner or later someone had to tie it to politics even though it has nothing to do with politics. Fact of the matter is he made a mistake that shouldn’t be a career killing thing. People in Hollywood have stayed in favor having done way worse than that.
BTW, you don’t understand Hollywood if you want to try and make this about his skin color. The only color that really matters in Hollywood is GREEN!

          2. Why would he need to be blacklisted? Because he slapped some idiot who continuously disrespected his wife? Or because he might have some underlying mental health condition? Or maybe just going thru something? You know who I think should be cancelled? YOU, for obviously being a bigot.

          3. Meltigger

Thank you Kevin! First person I’ve seen who understands the man was taking up for his wife. Chris deserved it and he knows it. Killing a man’s career like they have done to Depp is totally unneeded.

          4. LalaLalabobbykodi@gmail.com

            It comedy you moronic buffoon

          5. Kayla

You’re hillside. Good with your politics crap. 🤣

          6. Tommy

Let him get back to work, skin color has nothing to do with this, politics has nothing to do with this,he had a reaction to a situation maybe the wrong place and time and we ALL have had those. Let Will & Chris work it out in their own time or not .
I believe both are good people

          7. Allenroy

Totally agree. As a black man I can’t support black-on-black violence. They cancelled Gina Carano for expressing her views. This guy slapped someone, went back to his seat and never got arrested and still collected his award. Something is really wrong with the Academy, Hollywood and, I dare say, America.

          8. Mario

Gina Carano was fired for multiple transgressions including making a transphobic joke and spreading lies about covid when hundreds of thousands of people died. And they gave her multiple opportunities to redeem herself before terminating her. As a black man, i am ashamed of you got using your race to justify a false equivalency that actually holds black people to higher standards for racist reasons.

          9. William Tell

The fact that you’re comparing a single action in one night to a ‘toady’ President who was the most unpresidential President in the history of the U.S, impeached once before the 2nd impeachment, while committing treason!

        3. Shan.Rae

True. He has never seemed happy in his marriage. I do believe he tried his hardest to love her right, but its hard when the feelings are not reciprocated.

        4. Checherryl

I don’t know. Oh! How I wish Will had not done that. It’s all about publicity. Disney doesn’t want to be
          Tarnished.
It’s going to take a long time for Will to make a comeback.Maybe small roles. There’s alit going on

        5. Mario

Will Smith said his problem was he has unresplved trauma from an abusive upbringing and people feeling like they can talk crazy to him and disrespect his wife and yall decided it’s not misogynistic harassment of his wife that’s the problem, it’s people knowing they have an open relationship that’s the problem. Typical. Blame the women for toxic masculinity.

        6. Del

Will she is destroying him the kids are gone how much do you meaning the media why are you people trying to strip that man for his talent picket was found in the geto she miss being she will go back by no one wants that trash around them tucker is a big boy suck it up cup cake

        7. Mason

I’m not married but why would you want an open marriage? You might as well not be married at all if you are okay with your spouse wanting to have sex with other people still. So yeah it’s basically adultery and polygamy.

      2. I love what you just said

      3. Laura

Get over it already! Other actors have fone far worse…. Not AT the Awards. He put life into that role. Disney please dont get it wrong. Love Dwayne but Will IS Alladin!!!!

        1. Shan.Rae

You think so? I agree, Johnson wouldn’t make a good Aladdin, but I didn’t see Smith embody what Williams brought to the role. I was thinking maybe Anthony Anderson, Sinbad, Keenan Thompson, or Marlon Wayans for the role. Personally, I would have loved to see Bernie Mac do it.

          1. Hector

He wasn’t Aladdin he was the Genie

      4. Cam

Really? Open relationships are fine, but Marriage, why the hell get married if you cant stick with one. It is by definition, CHEATING!

      5. Sheri

I think he made a mistake but i think he was the best Aladdin and should be allowed to continue. We have all lost our temper. We have all made mistakes.

        1. Ali. O

I totally agree. I like both actors but I feel Will Smith would be better as this character .He is a great actor. He shouldn’t be punished forever. He apologized. Some comedians need to think twice about some thing that are said about other people or groups

      6. Brian

Becuse tippicly people don’t like to live in sin or violate what marriage is. After all lust is one of the 7 deadly sins. Besides what’s the point of being with some one if you don’t actually wanna be with them?

      7. AL

They are famous so if they choose to tell everyone that they have an open relationship then they are making it people’s business. Not that I care what type of relationship they have. It’s there relationship so it’s there choice what they want to do.

      8. Elsie

I think we all make mistake. THE mayor problema is his nacisitic wife, once he decides to mover on he will me a better person.

        1. c4mi11e

          *Like&Agree*

      9. Jen

Will Smith was completely justified in what he did. It should be Mr. Rock who is in the limelight and losing movie rights not Will Smith. If this keeps happening I will organize a boycott campaign against companies like Disney until they realize their mistake.

        1. Meltigger

          Agree completely.

      10. CITA

If Will Smith had to have his wife on set for an intimate scene, who’s to believe that their ‘open marriage’ was a mutual arrangement? It was her decision and he had no choice because of his love for her. His long can one pretend? He had to blow sometime. Unfortunately for CRock… he lit the fuse that blew the dynamite. He needs a divorce and a lot of therapy to recover from that toxic marriage. She’s still mourning Tupac and what they had.

        1. Adam

Wow. You got that right! I think you summed up that whole sad situation just perfectly. Thank you.

        2. c4mi11e

If this had a like button I’d have clicked it, but instead I’m posting *LIKE&AGEEE* 😁

    2. Angela

Oh jeez Disney is getting on my last nerve. Everything Disney does is uncalled for. You know how you are taught at an early age to be a Leader not a follower. Well Disney is a follower. Instead of helping the situation and stop the bullying they just continue with what they think the world wants. Not only with this situation but with laws that are passed. Everyone needs to get over it and move on. The man messed up he isn’t a robot. Stop the pity bs and move on…

      1. Connie

Ok so none of this is right.he had a moment of protecting this wife.! Gentleman! He apologized!! !!he’s been over punished!!!!it’s yesterday’s news he did kill any one….and a joke is supposed to be funny not insulting!! This is not worth changing his career over !! Let him act!! And make comedians funny. On with the show!!

        1. Jen

          So, right you are!

    3. Lindsey A.

      Agree 100%

      1. Puki

        Serves him right.

      2. Vic

Agree 100% too. He’s a great actor. He’s being over punished. Rock is good but it’s always better to keep the same person in the next sequels.

        1. Vic

Don’t agree with serves him right. I agree with the 2 comments before that.

    4. Felicia

What does his personal life has to do with his acting career? As long as he does his job and is great at it, he should still be aloud to work for Disney.

      1. Gretchen

It’s not about whether or not we’ll is a good actor, he is. It’s about weather people will decide not to see a movie or watch a TV series if he’s in it. It’s about the money, not about his talent.

    5. Kind Patriot

Everyone makes mistakes. Defending someone you love is the right thing to do. Slapping another person not so much. He didn’t slug Rock, that was a good choice.

    6. I will never watch another Will Smith movie after that episode he did with Chris Rock by slapping him . Done with will Smith and I like Dwayne Johnson better anyway because he is a nice guy and a gentleman.

      1. ☮️

I agree. Will could’ve definitely handled that differently. The WORLD was watching. Why demoralize your reputation by slapping a colleague and friend in the same business? I lost all respect for him. Think of Chris Rock how he felt, how his family and friends felt. I understand how Jada probably felt after Rocks joke and that’s nothing to joke about but I’m sure if Will and Jada had gone to Chris like an adult afterwards and explained to him her condition and her feelings behind the joke, he would’ve sincerely apologized and probably publicly. I just think it was handled very immaturely. I’m sorry. I wouldn’t allow Will to be in anything right now. He needs to be reprimanded somehow. The rich already gets away with murder.

        1. Meltigger

It was already know about her condition. The one in the wrong here is Chris R. The man made fun of a sick person. That’s not.funny, respectful or okay. And you’re saying poor Chris? Unbelievable. If it was any other sick person would it have been okay?

    7. LKS

Why blame his appealing actions on anyone but him. I think people are forgetting he is participating in this Open Marriage with a willing heart and open zipper.

      1. Mario

        AMEN!

    8. Lola

      Well said

    9. The Rock can easily replace Will Smith as Genie and other actors can replace him in upcoming projects. His arrogance and utter stupidity cost him his career!

    10. Dave

No we haven’t moved on nor should we. I don’t think there’s any room for what he did. He made his bed… let him lay in it. He did this to himself.

      1. ☮️

        Agree!!!

    11. Tonette carbone

I totally agree, he is a human being, his emotions got the best of him at the wrong time , but for all of us, it happens.
His acting captures his ability to be right there in the moment he plays in any movie . No one can replace Will Snith

    12. Julie

I think Dwayne Johnson would be a great Genie!

    13. Jack

My opinion of Will Smith had been wanning over past few years – slapping anyone is unacceptable but to do so in a public forum shows a lack of respect for all, a need for anger management, and a major show of remorse which I have not seen in public.
I have always respected and enjoyed Dwayne Johnson my vote goes to him replacing Will as genie.

    14. Don

BG, Jada had NOTHING to do with what happened at the Oscar’s other than being present. She’s been coping with her disease, and it hurt her deeply to have it affect her hair to the point she had to cut it off. Chris Rock thought he was being funny with his tasteless cruel attack on her. He used words as a weapon, and Will defended his wife. It’s not like Chris Rock cracked the joke after getting permission from Jada, or in front a small number of people at an after-party, he did it in front of all of their peers and the millions of people around the world. Will Smith is at fault for slapping Chris Rock, but Chis Rock is more at fault for attacking Jada!

At least Will Smith didn’t punch Chris Rock and knock his punk ass out!

      1. Meltigger

Exactly! And well said. All these people on here acting like the man done went and shot Chris. But no one is saying what repercussions Chris should be getting for his extremely poor taste.

    15. Go Rock. He would be perfect.

    16. kimry Robert

Actions have consequences. I don’t want my grandchildren thinking violence is how to solve problems. And since Disney’s audience are children, Will is not the model for their network.

      1. Meltigger

Have you ever paid attention to the kids who have come from Disney, like Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears? Great role models. Lol

    17. An open marriage is not a marriage. It’s a agreement between two consenting persons! Read the definition of marriage.

    18. Sue

Please don’t! Will Smith is great!

      1. CW

Will should be held accountable for his actions. He is an idiot to do what he did, sorry Will should be replaced. Tons of talented people and Dwayne is one more f them.

    19. Deianna

      Duane Johnson as the Genie….genius!

    20. Anne

Disney needs to halt the brakes are canceling beloved characters. Smith is a victim of his wife and he lost it. Was is appropriate? No. But many people see him as an unhappy person. They canceled Depp and that will seriously turn out to be a big mistake. guaranteed! Look at how badly Fantastic Beasts is doing!!

    21. Sherri

Look Will Smith has been already punished enough let that man play in that show we all make mistakes we all humans so what if you did the same thing would you take yourself off the air just because he’s been punished enough let it go he needs to play in Aladdin too

    22. LalaLalabobbykodi@gmail.com

It comedy you moronic buffoons!!! He had no right to do what he did and he should have been prosecuted!!! Is this the role model you want in your kids’ Disney movies?

      1. CW

I agree with you! Get rid of Will Smith! It was egregious behavior for him to walk on stage and smack a professional comedian because the comedian told a joke he did not like. Dwayne will be just as amazing as Will and Robin were as Genie.

    23. CW

Get rid of Will Smith! It was egregious behavior for him to walk on stage and smack a professional comedian because the comedian told a joke he did not like. Dwayne will be just as amazing as Will and Robin were as Genie.

    24. Mar

Would love to see Dwayne Johnson replace Will Smith in future projects

    25. MRCY

Of all the accusations of child predators WITHIN the Disney organization & this is what the company is talking about???
      Clean house first!!!
      #hypocrisy

      1. CRT

        Agreed.

  2. EricJ

“At Universal Orlando, Smith is still the narrator on the beloved attraction MEN IN BLACK: Alien Attack.”

He is? Maybe at the end, but isn’t the Rip Torn chief the one who ushered us “recruits” in from the World’s Fair entrance?

    1. Luke

Watch me remove Disney as my streaming service.

I’m happily on the other side of this fence. ‘Comedy’ has drifted far too far into offensive statements. There were some old school comics who did that same sad insult routine who knew they were risking a confrontation over their material. Nowadays people hide behind this abhorrence of the physical. If Will hadn’t lightly slapped him, would he have been cancelled for his open public international mockery of a black woman’s medical condition? Somehow he gets a pass because Smith tapped him and embarrassed him. What’s world

      1. This!!! So it’s ok to make fun of a Black Woman! receive no backlash still gets to tell his jokes an will suffers!! So Black WOMEN AND OUR HEALTH ARENT PROTECTED! Hmmm

        1. DS9Yanks

Keep playing that victim card, yo.

        2. Nah

          She’s bald, not dying. Chill.

          1. Meltigger

She is sick so don’t act like it is nothing Dealing with autoimmune disease is no fun. And definitely shouldn’t be made fun of.

        3. Don West

          That’s showbiz.

      2. Lola

You’re wrong. Chris was mocking her hair “not her condition” of which he was unaware. You cannot excuse Will’s violent behavior because a comedian did what they are paid to do “tell jokes. Will laughed at first until Jada gave him the side eye.

        1. Mario

He wasn’t paid to joke about Jada. He went offscript. They rehearse these jokes and get approval from the actors mgmt so things like this doesn’t happen. Rock comment was violent because he meant to demean her. He comparedJada’s look to a character who wanted to be treated like a man. There’s no justifying that. And Chris Rock is still out here keeping the Smiths in his mouth. He should have slapped him twice.

      3. Liz

        Exactly!
Love This comment!!!!! I’m happily on the other side as well and will stay here

      4. Wise

Coming from a grown Man, when you fall (hard) it can align the senses…the landing will do Big Willie so me good

    2. Karen

I love Disney but they have gotten ridiculous with everything! Help with stopping bullies not cut their career. Will is the best Genie. Don’t change that. He apologized. Will was defending his wife. Who wouldn’t. Maybe he didn’t do it the best way but that’s what he did. While I’m at it I hate that Disney dropped Johnny Depp.

      1. Rachel Hermann

I agree totally Disney is getting out of control now Will Smith geez 😳 it’s ridiculous punish people just because they make one mistake! They never even asked Johnny Depp if the rumors were true they just assumed! People are humans we all make mistakes.

  3. I don’t think Will Smith should be replaced. We all make mistakes and if everyone is judged by one mistake, no one would be working in Hollywood.

    1. Mike F

      Agreed.

      1. Alyssa

It’s amazing how he’s already apologized yet you sheep are desperately trying to cancel him. Chris Brown among other artists has beaten women for years but y’all never bat an eye.

    2. tscar10000

You said just what I was thinking. Could he have handled that situation better, Yes. He could have walked up to Chris and explained in his ear what was going on with Jada’s hair and then sat back down. Then it would have been up to Chris to apologize. Will has since apologize and withdrawn from the academy. Plus the Academy took their own steps (I thought) regarding Will Smith. And Chris Rock didn’t press charges either. Instead of being so quick to cancel people, try forgiveness. Especially when that person realizes the mistake they made.

      1. Pumpkin

We can’t allow people to get away with this kind of behavior. What are you gonna say when one of your children act this way. Will is watched by children of all ages. He, & only he put himself in this situation. I think he confused real life actions with actions on a movie. Anyways, Disney will do what they have toò.

        1. Michelle

If your children do exactly what they see anyone in front of them do, then their souls were lost a long time ago because our society constantly bombards us with bad behavior. Parenting is what is supposed to take care of that.

          1. Meltigger

Yes! This is awesome comment and fully agree Michelle.

    3. AT

Totally what I was going to say. I am sick of people casting complete judgement and exiling people for their low point without recognizing their highs.

    4. Jill

Agreed. Let’s move on. People have made much worse mistakes in their life. Yes Will could of handled it better but he made a mistake, a bad choice. Removing his movies and documentaries is wrong.

    5. Ray w

He consciously walked up onto a stage on live TV and committed aggravated assault. Thats not a mistake that’s jail time. So he should pay some type of price. Not coddle him. He pretty much wrecked his career because he can’t control his ego or temper!

      1. Michelle

It was a slap, for gosh sakes – an open handed slap, not a knife fight or a gun blast. The punishment has already fit the crime. Move on!

  4. Christine Dotson

Who are we to judge Will has done much more good than bad I am so tired of hearing about an incident that he has profusely apologized for does he have to be ruined because of this? I say no!! Time to move forward. It was a mistake. But he does need to get away from Jada I don’t believe this would have happened if it wasn’t for her

    1. Jill

      Agreed

  5. Cano

If he’s replaced in upcoming, that’s fine, they’re choice. Dwayne Johnson would fit the role pretty well. Disney is a family company and I understand if they want to take a stand to not support violence by doing that. I don’t care too much one way or the other. I definitely don’t think we should revert the past though. MIB would not be the same without Will Smith. I think those who are upset that he’s still in it just get upset over everything.

  6. Mike F

While I don’t condone unnecessary violence, we live in a society where we ‘claim’ to believe in second chances, yet so few people want to give them.

I think what Will did showed was stupid, regardless of whatever reason he might have done it for, but the lives of celebrities are really no concern to me, and the fact Chris Rock is willing to drop the issue and random people all around the world are not, shows just how much of an adult CR is and just how trivial others are.

That said, though I liked Smith as Genie, I think Johnson would do a really good job in the role as well. I really liked Johnson in Moana and if the part was written well, he could be great in it!

That’s just my opinion though. Cheers!

    1. Cheryl

      Well said!

    2. H H

HAWK…Coming from a grown Man, when you fall (hard) it can align the senses…the landing will do Big Willie some good

  7. Ebony E.

I’ll be honest, it just killed me to see my favorite comedian and one of my favorite actors have a falling out like that. I wasn’t surprised that his career went downhill, but did they really have to do that? Like cancel culture is unnecessary and a waste of time. I’m a very forgiving person, and I know both of them never meant each other no harm, so I forgive them both

    1. CalledIt

Both Will and Chris had run ins before as they really don’t like each other. If they were your “favorites” you know this.

  8. Johnny

They dropped johnny depp for false accusations they better drop will smith for really assaulting someone

    1. DS9Yanks

      Excellent point!

    2. Icantrell

    3. Dominica

Me personally feel it happened but like apologized and I believe in his heart feels bad that this all occurred.
But I loved will in Alldian to me changing the character would not be the same.dont get me wrong the rock is funny.but I feel they should keep will.i love you will Smith aka fresh prince always

      1. Keith

Let’s see he has already been banned from the Academy. He’s lost a great deal of prestige, money and several projects he was working on or future projects have been dropped. I really believe it’s time to move on. Let him get some time away and then come back better and stronger than before.

    4. Ray w

He consciously walked up onto a stage on live TV and committed aggravated assault. Thats not a mistake that’s jail time. So he should pay some type of price. Not coddle him. He pretty much wrecked his career because he can’t control his ego or temper!

      1. As the bible say let he that have not sin throw the first stone. So in other words hush will is only human made a mistake he didn’t kill anyone the world is still turning .

    5. Michelle

They shouldn’t have dropped Johnny Depp either. Two wrongs do not make a right. I hope they get their head out of stuck on stupid and put him back in pirates where he belongs!

      1. Michelle

Disney is sickeningly “ woke” now, firing Depp before court decision, this, many other things including making Loki bisexual in his show, they are losing many fans with their pandering.

  9. Mwbarnhart

Well, Robin Williams wasn’t the voice of the genie in Return of Jaffar and the movie suffered. Do they really want another to do it again? And who really wants another live action Aladdin movie?!

    1. Never liked Will Smith or Jada. Times up for wanting to hear about them..I never did.. Rock is awesome..

  10. Danny

    Now that’s just stupid 🤦‍♂️

  11. Cheryl

I’m not feeling Dwayne as the genie….What Will did, doesn’t affect my life one way or another.

    1. Kevin

I’m not feeling a live action Aladdin 2 AT ALL. I mean, is it really that necessary?

  12. Jamie

Why should he be blacklisted he made a mistake and he is human with feelings. You can’t compare what Will Smith did to what Trump has done and continues to do. Nobody bought up race but you so what does him being black have to do with anything.

    1. Lynn

You seriously couldn’t get past one article without bringing Trump into it? Take your blinders off. This is about Will Smith and has zilch to do with your feelings about Donald Trump.

      1. Julie

Keep Will as the Genie!! He has been the perfect person to come after Robin Williams for the role and those were some big shoes to fill! Duane Johnson is a great actor but not really a comedian nor perfect for the role. People make mistakes but blacklisting one of the best actors ever, well that is just sad! He has apologized and hopefully has learned a valuable lesson! Also firing Johnny Depp for accusations without facts was ridiculous!! Whatever Pirate movies come in the future, our family isn’t interested.

    2. Jack

I adore that Trump lives in your head 24/7, 365, rent free and he doesn’t even know you exists.

    3. DS9Yanks

So words are worse than violence now? Where do people like come from?!

  13. Yes I think he would be better for sure,Excellent actor

  14. Kevin

If they fired Depp over unproven ALLEGATIONS (at the time, since now they are being completely proven FALSE) they had better fire Smith over an assault that was captured on cameras and viewed by millions of people. To do any less would be pure hypocrisy on DIsney’s part.

    1. Donnie

Disney being a hypocrite? Come on now, they would never, ever act like that. Lol

      1. Kevin

        LOL! Indeed!

  15. Debbie

I don’t condone violence. However, the man was protecting the dignity of his wife. Men who are bald or getting there, are seen as sexy in some cases or just accepted that it happens. Women however are set to a different standard. Having Alopecia is not a laughing or laughable thing. It’s a serious autoimmune disease. Now I’m not a big Jada fan, that being said to go to a huge Hollywood formal bash was pretty brave.
Enough already with punishing Will. He apologized, he resigned from the academy, they threw a 10 year ban on him , ENOUGH. THERE are stars who have done much much worse literally have gotten away with murder and didn’t get this much attention.

    1. DS9Yanks

This is beyond hilarious. Poor bald women! Oh the humanity!

    2. Duh

Wear a wig if you don’t want your bald head talked about, don’t come to a show looking like GI Jane then cry about someone noticing. You think if some fat guy showed up in some tiny suit with his rolls hanging out a joke wouldn’t have been said. Obesity is a pretty serious thing too and we all think that’s hilarious. Again if your ashamed of being bald, wear a wig, ez.

      1. Not step on anyone toes but why should I have to wear a wig ? What if I had cancer and no hair it wasn’t a comedian show there a time and place for everything. That why you have rules and script to follow .But now he’s making jokes about Will what if one of your kids was getting bullied are joked on at school how would they feel and how would you feel know you doing the best you can.

      2. Michelle

I suffer from hair loss and I can say that obviously you have never worn a wig. They are hot, uncomfortable, keep your scalp from breathing and are not a great way to deal with hair loss – not to mention the expense and skill needed to wear them and make them look realistic. If I were as pretty as Jada and didn’t have such an oddly shaped head, I’d consider shaving mine too. But really, nothing makes you feel okay when long hair is considered a symbol of beauty and you can’t grow any.

    3. Kevin

Tell us you ACTUALLY condone violence without telling us you condone violence. In your first sentence no less. LMAO!

  16. Sand

I guess in this world if we defend our partners then all our rights and achivements get taking away. To me this is just bull crap.. so if someone says something about your spiuce that is going thru a rough time its ok ? Nope i would of did same thing. This world is sick in there ways .

    1. DS9Yanks

So the proper response to words is violence? Whatever happened to “sticks and stones”? People like you are part of the problem.

      1. Kevin

EXACTLY DS9!!! The funniest thing about all this that people like Sand always keep forgetting (because it doesn’t fit their narrative) is that Smith was cracking up at the joke before he saw Jada throw him the side stink eye. Didn’t seem like it was too big a deal to Smith before that.

  17. robertaj cornwell

I hope Will can find himself again! And walk away from that sneaking wife who has done nothing but mess his and the children life up as well!! She a nut case!!

    1. Icantrell

      ♡ prayer needed ♡

  18. Icantrell

Love Dwayne in any role. There are consequences for poor decision making, even for those we love. It’s how we remain a society of basic human behavior and respect. It’s what separates us from other “species” and the animal kingdom.

    1. Virginia

I love Dwayne as well but still prefer will Smith. I don’t condone what he because that wasn’t a Christian thing to do. Chris surely is the bigger because he turned the other cheek which is exactly what I would have done and actually do all the time. That being said he apologized that is what God expects of us. Chris accepted this. God isthe only one that can judge our sincerity bec He knows all. Them banning his pictures etc I don’t feel it was necessary. There’s a lot more people in entertainment that have done worst. .

  19. M

No. Will Smith was/ is amazing as The Genie. He was already disciplined from The Academy. Stop it already. It won’t be the same with anyone else as The Genie

  20. You also said a mouth full it’s true and let move on.

  21. Milli P.

All I can say to Disney, any actors and fans..don’t replace Will Smith in anything..he’s a great actor and human being. To which human beings make mistakes, he did apologize, that too shows he’s only human..the media, Disney, actors, and the fans need to move on…

    1. Brad Brown

They should use Chris Rock to replace Will Smith as the genie LOL.

  22. Savannah

    Y E S ❗️

  23. Thank you people out the. I thought all the comments would be against Will. I am a 65 year old white woman, and I have yet to meet a perfect person. Yes, it was wrong, yes his temper rated up, did that wipe out who he is? Not too us flawed human beings out here. And marital status, shame on you guys. With all the variations in sexual preferences,WOW can you pick on anything else!!!

    1. Michelle

So agree, since when is defending your wifes honor not a good thing. I myself thought Rock was way out of line, Mike Tyson beat a guy for bugging him on a plane and being a boxer his hands are lethal weapons, Will did the right thing, my thought, he is a decent man who doesn’t drink the “ Hollywood kool-aid” they see this as their chance to get rid of him for Johnson who gets tons of roles now for his mediocore acting skills, he must be toeing Hollywoods line. Will is an amazing actor.

  24. Molly

Absolutely! Please replace Will Smith in any and all upcoming projects! What he did to Chris rock at the Oscars exposed him for who he really is: a self-centered, egotistical, violent Hollywood Diva Who has no respect for anyone unless it is self-serving!! I am not only disappointed but totally disgusted by the way he treated his “lesser” Chris Rock!! Will Smith needs to be slapped off that high horse he rides!! A complete lack of respect for anyone who dares to joke?? And he calls himself a comedian?? Give me a break!! I will never watch another Will Smith movie where he is cast as a hero or good guy simply because that is not a believable role for him anymore now that he has exposed his true self!!

    1. Michelle

You really don’t have a clue about this, do you? This was not about a huge ego! Furthermore, I doubt you have never done a despicable thing in your life, and had others forgive you. One slap doesn’t cancel an entire life!

    2. Kaitlyn

Wow, did you even know what happened and why the slap took place? My goodness. Chris Rock was wayyyy out of line.

  25. The man made a mistake. He apologized, has suffered, and let’s move on. No way should he be replaced. I love D.J., but this would be just wrong! Let’s look at some of our other Disney idols (whom I love) Robin was in and out of rehab for years for drugs, Ironman-RDJ: our kids might remember it it but I remember loving him as a teen, and him getting one DUI after another until he went to prison for it and Thankfully came out on the other side. Tom Hanks, fell in love with Rita Wilson on a movie set and left his wife to be with her…Will Smith was stupid, he slapped a man, the police in the theater could not even arrest him because Chris Rock did not want them too; slapped him. It’s time to move on!

    1. Michelle

      Love this! Great comment!

    2. Michelle

Very well said! I love Will!

    3. Sheryl Lynn

Well said. When did we become such a judgemental society??

  26. Andrea Conti

I think Dwayne will be good as the genie. But the best genie was Robin Williams, can’t be replaced. As the disgusting behavior of Smith at the Oscar’s, he should be removed from all Disney films! They did it to JD and he is innocent of the charges, we all saw Smith slap/punch Chris and curse him, and his Oscar should have been taken away, he is not all that.

  27. Sande'

Actors have been fired and replaced for less. Will showed violence at the worse possible time. I used to like him but he is now at the bottom of my list. Dwayne Johnson is an excellent replacement and has always showed class and respect.

    1. Michelle

Johnson is a very one trick pony actor, Will has many faucets, wouldn’t you want your man to defend you if verbally mocked?

      1. Mikie

No. It just happend to me once that some guy my boxer boyfriend at the the time and I knew verbaly atacked me while he was standing on the side waiting in advance for my responce. I buried the guy- verbaly. At one point dude started gettting in my face at which time my boyfriend said that if he gets one step closer to me he is a dead man. So he stoped. But verbaly? I can defend myself just fine and dandy.

  28. Michelle

Will was defending his wife with a pretty harmless slap, Mike Tyson pummelled a guy on a plane. I thought men were supposed to defend their wives? Johnson could NEVER play the roles Will has, keep Will!!!!!

  29. Millennial mom

Oh I hope DJ doesn’t replace Will… it will not go over well I think

  30. Reese

Kids don’t know about the slap and many if not most adults are beyond over it! Let it go! Keep him as the Genie.

  31. Julius

    The real problem is comedians….

I say this as a joke and amateur comedian

  32. D Hagler

I would LOVE IT if Disney replaced Will with Dwayne! Horrible behavior should NOT be rewarded and he (Will) should never be allowed to be in a roll that children would be subjected to. Simple as that!

    1. Kaitlyn

Um, nope. He slapped someone for stepping wayyyyyyy out of line and out of his script who decided to make fun of his wife. She can’t change what is happening to her and he was pissed off. Chris didn’t fall over and it didn’t even leave a mark, he was just fine. You’re acting like he was completely pummeled. Leave him alone, his life is in shambles as it is.
Will Smith is one of the best actors ever and I do NOT think anyone should replace him as genie in Aladdin. He had pretty big shoes to fill following Robin Williams and I think he did it amazingly.

  33. Jeanne

I believe Will Smith got caught up in the heat of the moment. He reacted to an insult to his wife. Mr Smith us a very beloved character in Aladdin. Please let him continue! God Bless Will!

  34. Karena

He is not any role model I would want my children emulating. He should be replaced in all movie roles.

    1. Kaitlyn

How will your kids even know about it?

  35. Wyomia Shields

He without SIN cast the first stone. The Man is HUMAN. Hate the sin love the person.

  36. Leotha

Let’s move on. I would love to see Will Smith as the genie. I loved the movie.
And this is not the first time that things have happened in this crazy.
I pray for healing and love for Will.

  37. Bruce Gould

I’m totally done with Will Smith. There is absolutely no excuse for violence and profanity especially on live TV. Young impressionable adults and kids watching. He and his wife have been the subject of ridicule and embarrassment for years. If I never see him again in the big screen it will be too soon.

    1. Ur mama

You ppl wanna say oh cant do that on tv but do it in real life.. wanna act all Innocent

  38. Ur mama

Umm that the most racist thing u can say.

  39. Bruce Gould

Yes he apologized to everyone but Chris. Only days later when his management team made him did he offer an apology. Not even in person but through Twitter

  40. Ur mama

No Dwayne is not runny at all an second he cant be the genie cuz no matter wat ROBIN WILLIAMS will always an forever be the genie

    1. Haley P.

Note to Disney: Keep Will Smith as Genie. Don’t be racist on the fact he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars. He did apologize to the Academy and later on through his manager Chris himself and he’s banned from the Oscar’s ceremony for 10 years. If Disney does this, they will lose viewership on this movie.

  41. Rob

Considering Disney came out and said they will do no more remakes of movies that aren’t at least 51% complete at this time… This is moot. Nobody will play the live action role of the genie again.

    1. Tammie

It’s time to move on. He slapped Chris Rock, he didn’t kill him. Will stood up for his wife. Any woman would appreciate a man who did. It’s time to move on and let it go. He apologized to Chris, his family and everyone. If Will is cut from his acting career from things like his genie part, it won’t be the same. I support Will Smith in all he does. We are all human, we ALL make mistakes, we also learn from them and move on. Let he who has committed no sin cast the first stone…

  42. Brad Brown

They should use Chris Rock to replace Will Smith as the genie LOL.

  43. Brad Brown

They need to replace Will Smith’ with a comedian not an action actor. Also, have you seen Dwayne Johnson in Jungle cruise? Yeah, he’s the one-dimensional actor. Yes, use a comedian like Chris rock.

  44. Debbie

No, simple as this. Will Smith made a mistake. It’s time to forgive and everyone go on.

  45. Bruce

Who cares move on worse things happen every day
Will smith is a very talented actor
    Who over reacted
    Big egos are like that

  46. Neesy

I believe Will Smith acting abilities should not he discredited just because of one lack in judgment. Everyone wants to criticize and demean this man because of this one incident. How many white actors have been this tormented after a lack in judgment. None!! So stop trying to punish this man. I’m really sick of it. I DON’T WANT TO THE ROCK PLAYING THE GENIE IN ALADDIN 2. I WILL PERSONALLY BOYCOTT THE MOVIE AND GET AS MANY OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO DO SO TOO.

  47. Fu

Cry about it, soft ass generation I swear

  48. JoJo

Might as well just cancel the movie. Or find a younger actor. Rock needs to stop stealing major roles. Give new actors a chance.

  49. stacy

That’s what’s wrong with the world today y’all don’t no how to forgive and let go if God forgive will and let it go why can’t y’all

  50. Hector

Hollywood is over saturated with Dwayne Will is facing consequences way beyond his actions and the wrong people are being canceled when people are getting away with way worse

  51. Nikki

Will Smith sucked as the Genie !!! Also, he should lose the role he committed assault. In front of millions at a joke he thought was hilarious before his wife whispered in his ear.

Consequences have actions and he should be fired, he’ll they fired Johnny Depp with NO PROOF !!

People need to pay for their actions especially if they cause harm and he slapped someone. I’m sorry but you reap what you sew.

  52. Julie

I like Will Smith but I thought the role of the Genie should have gone to James Monroe Iglehart who won the Tony for the Original Broadway adaption of Aladdin. He is more of a name now and would be able to carry the film.

  53. Matt

Considering how absolutely awful Smith’s Genie was, replacing him would likely be an improvement. That entire movie was terrible, I’m sort of surprised they’re making #2. The Rock is always a good replacement for any movie, he’s shockingly good at acting and from accounts is an all around genuinely nice person.

  54. RMS

I think Will should not be replaced. He has been punished enough. He was being protective of his wife and acted unwisely something that all of us are capable of. Let’s have compassion here. He has served society well over the years, and I don’t believe that he should be destroyed over this. Suppose it was one of us or one of our loved ones. Enough already!

In regards to the Chapelle incident the reason given by the person was not in any way related to the Will Smith incident. So let’s not lay that on Will Smith.

Will Smith should be allowed to continue with all work as planned prior to the Oscars incident. We all are in need of mercy at times. So let us all of the public have mercy on Will Smith.

  55. Vanessa

I hated Will Smith in Aladin. I think there are better comedians. I can see Anthony Anderson

  56. Beth F

The whole country is nuts but Will Smith is not to blame.just a symptom of “its ok to show your hate” politics.

  57. Steph Gomez

Dwayne Johnson is a great actor but Will Smith is still my number one for genie no matter what personal problem’s come to light.

  58. I guess most of the children and others who teased me where only practicing to become future comedians! If you have a audience that are laughing and you smile all is fine to make cruel jokes, hurt feelings and humiliate others…Then you become a actor and you can really perform while the whole world is watching!!! …. From a survivor of bullying and assault bruises heal faster than hurtful words, hurtful words stick forever in your mind..
The old saying sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me is a LIE! Depending on how they are thrown they can all hurt and break a person! Both should be ashamed! Only in this case only one is taking full blame!!!

    1. I would be grateful if my significant other had my back and stood up for my pride, honor & dignity! Common sense in what you consider as a joke at someone else.

  59. Lynn

Will Smith made the biggest choice of his life and career when he took that swaggering, ghetto walk up to the Oscars stage and assaulted Chris Rock. He definitely lost his artificial shine that alllll of his success and money hid of his ghetto street smart roots from everyone. Make no mistake – this was a CHOICE he made. It was NOT a mistake, not a silly incident from when he was 17 years old and didn’t know better, not something he said 30 years ago when times were so very different and he could just apologize and move on. He ASSAULTED another African-American man on broadcast TV in front of millions of people!! He absolutely SHOULD lose face AND his income over this. And wasn’t Chris Rock a CLASS ACT throughout the whole time? Congratulations, Chris Rock and to whoever raised you for raising a man with CLASS, ELEGANCE, GENEROSITY of SPIRIT, and GOOD MANNERS!!! Chris might have taken a slap across the face, but he’s going to be laughing at that all the way to the bank loooonnnggg after the sting is gone!

    1. Kaitlyn

You shouldn’t be congratulating Chris Rock but ok

  60. RAOUL

I am a proud fan of Will Smith and i think that it is unfair of Disney and any other entity to hold that incident at the Oscars against him. Honestly, I think Chris Rock got what he deserved, infact where I come from he would have gotten a good “broad side” for disrespecting the man’s wife. Will Smith acted on his human instincts to defend the woman he loves. I would do the same any day. Some of you are just cowards to laugh it off if you found yourself in such a situation but Will had the gutts to put his career and reputation on the line to defend his wife’s honour. That is what you should teach your sons to be like.

  61. Sherry

Leave the men in Black Ride the way it is Stop tearing things down and just leave it alone. you already took down the pirate of the Caribbean ride because of what you think Johnny Dept did he didn’t do any of that . Amber heard is the one that they should be after not Johnny Depp

  62. Leave the men in Black Ride the way it is Stop tearing things down and just leave it alone. you already took down the pirate of the Caribbean ride because of what you think Johnny Dept did he didn’t do any of that . Amber heard is the one that they should be after not Johnny

  63. Susan

OMG Give it a rest already if Disney replaces Will with anyone. SHAME ON DISNEY. ENOUGH is ENOUGH. WILL IS HUMAN. So was his reaction. Now stop all this Nonsense…

  64. Sam quill

It is really funny. When everyone heard Will Smith was going to play the genie in the first Aladdin movie they complained. They could not believe Disney would pick Will Smith for this role. Now you all complain again. It doesn’t matter who plays the genie. It’s a movie.

  65. Johnny

Love the idea of Johnson being the genie. Will Smith is trash and showed his true charater.

  66. Brian

I feel like really who cares. Omg he’s a celebrity get over it. What’s going on is really no concern of anyone’s but his and his families. People need to mind their own business and let the guy be. Boo hoo he slap Chris rock get over it. No matter what Jada is his wife and he stuck up for her. He shouldn’t be getting all this negative crap from anyone. Freaking liberals get pissed over everything that has nothing to do with them. Will Smith is awesome and should still play all the roles he had.

    1. E.S.

      Aman

  67. E.S

I love Will’s movies. Hopefully he keeps his parts in all of his movies. Jada didn’t marry her ex- husband’s drug king pins Cousin and have kids, by 2 drug king pins, then marry a man who has been married several times, climbing the ladder 2 the Holy grail of finances. Making comments, cause you really never loved your wife’s. So, if someone disrespected your mom’s and made fun of her would you laugh it off if she was humiliated!??
Each person takes things differently. That is a form of BULLYING. People commit suicide or kill others over JOKES!! MOST of the comments are from people who don’t do charitable work or net worth is $60 or $200
And WILL is @ $350 million. So, he must be doing something right. He who is without SIN!! LET THEM CAST THE 1ST STONE.
LOVE YOU WILL & JADA AND ALL THE CHARITABLE THINGS YOU DO!! HOLD YOUR HEAD UP!! JUSTICE THOMAS HIS WIFE & DONALD TRUMP ARE HOLDING THEIR HEADS UP!!
WHILE EVERYBODY IS GOING AFTER YOU!! WHAT A WORLD WE LIVE IN.
    AMERICA HOW OF THE CRITICS!!

  68. Stella

After what Will Smith did, I lost respect for him. He used to be a role model, no longer. I wouldn’t want any person thinking it is alright to hurt any other, especially a fellow actor. There are plenty of other ways to settle differences. Dwayne Johnson would be great to play the Genie in the up coming movie.

    1. Linda M

Please leave Will Smith as the Genie. That is his role and everyone deserves a second chance. And as far as a role model, just look at the video games kids are playing these days.

    2. Kaitlyn

Do you not believe words can hurt others?

  69. C

Megan Markle, Amber Heard, Jada Pinket Smith.

  70. Chelsea

I’m so bored of Dwayne Johnson…. Why does Hollywood cast the same 5 people.
And how the hell does Dwayne Johnson sound like a good idea for the Genie. He is so far from Robin Williams… it was always disappointing having Will Smith as the voice but at least he has the goofy personality to bring.
I couldn’t be more disappointed with the replacement… Disney should’ve just left Aladdin alone. The cast is a joke.

  71. Kammy

I think someone else should replace him. His actions should not allow him to be in films that children would look up too

  72. Lynn

I would really like Dwayne Johnson to take the role. He is a great actor. Will Smith should not be accepted back after what he did. Not a good example for anyone.

  73. I really don’t care that he slapped Chris Rock. The world in general need to stop being so damn sensitive and in their feelings for every thing that they don’t agree with. It happened and it’s time to move on. Everyone all upset because he slapped Rock at an awards show which I’m sorry to say but one of the most boring awards show out there. I don’t find any of those shows entertaining at all. To me, that slap made it the most entertaining show of the year because it was live. I just think people need to let it go. Will Smith and his career is taking a hit because he defended his wife. What would people have said if he just sat there and did nothing. He’d be ridiculed and called a coward for not saying or doing anything about it. What I don’t understand is why Rock kept laughing when he saw Smith stand up? I mean any one in their right mind would realize that it just got serious. And I’m sorry but if a man keeps laughing as I’m approaching him to confront him, I’m taking that as a sign of disrespect and I would do something far worse than just slap the man. And Rick was laughing until he got slapped and then it became serious to him. All I’m saying is we have to look at it from different perspectives and how would that have affected you in the moment. So what, Rock got slapped. Big deal. Maybe he’ll take things more seriously when a man approaches him. Will Smith is a great actor and for his career to take a hint like this is beyond me. And why are people avoiding this ride at universal studios? Why does it affect people the way they say it does. Does it really have that much itf an impact on your daily life that you can’t enjoy a ride because you hear Will Smith’s voice? Come on, that is just downright stupid to me. People are going way overboard with their personal feelings. I mean, did you feel like you were slapped because you were there? Or maybe because you’re such a fan of Chris Rock that you felt his pain? Get the hell out of here with that garbage. I can’t believe society as while has become what it is. No wonder countries around the world don’t take us seriously anymore, the United States have become to sensitive and in touch with their feelings. I’m done.

    1. Kaitlyn

      👏👏👏

    2. Joyce

For me, the Smiths try to be open about their life and some what private at the same time. Something is taking a serious toll on this family. What Will did the night of the Oscarz was so out of character for him that I truly believe that he is sorry for what he did and not because of the backlash but because he has disappointed so many by defending his WIFE. Maybe Jada should have or could have stopped him; bottom line, Disney and all others are blowing this way out of preposition. Honesty, I think these companies stand to lose more money without Will than with him. He has so much talent. My advice for Will go back to making that music bro. We miss you anyway. At least until these compacome to their senses.

    3. Joyce

      I totally agree!!!

  74. Susan

I believe Dwayne Johnson should replace Will Smith. Will Smith should lose all luxuries and rights to movie roles of any kind. What was done to Chris Rock was inexcusable. Will Smith needs to be held accountable for his actions. I lost all respect for him. Go Dwayne Johnson.

    1. Kaitlyn

I think what Chris Rock said is inexcusable.

      1. E S

        I agree

  75. Mike

Awesome idea. Dwayne Johnson is an outstanding person. He’s the most likable guy in the world.

  76. Carmel

Why don’t you get over the Oscar slap. Hasn’t Will been published enough. The way Jada looked at him to do something. Stop banding Will dam it enough already.

  77. Laura

I haven’t watched the first live action Aladdin, why will there be another? Stop remaking cartoon classics. Think of new stories.

  78. Kathy Mendez

Don’t do it! I like Dwayne Johnson however, Will Smith had a bad moment of judgement. It was just a moment. The Oscars have issued his punishment. Other professional outlets do not need to add to that.
Not to mention Disney is already losing ground as it is , with changes that they have already made at their parks and other movie choices.
Do not replace the #Genie, bring back #Jack Sparrow and #Grindewald.

  79. Celia

Johnny Depp was INSTANTLY guilty because of an accusation and lost work. Will Smith ASSAULTED someone on live television. Everyone watching saw he was guilty of assault. There has to be a penalty since he didn’t get arrested.

  80. Jon

The Rock would be great in the role.

  81. Sharon

I think will Smith should remain as Genie in the movie alladin. Not switch to Dwayne Johnson

  82. Natalie conde

People make mistakes and of course he made one who hasn’t. Will Smith is a great actor and also has a good heart so I believe by cutting him off just like that is just plain ridiculous. It’s like Johnny depp with pirates of the carribean Disney shut him down also really when there’s worse hollywood actors that have done worse things. Give him a chance nobody is perfect. Famous or not famous we all have committed mistakes before.

  83. Elsie Rodriguez

I think they should not replace Will Smith , people need to stop talking about what happened at the Oscars and focus on other important things , it happened , he apologized now let’s move on .if Chris Rock , is not talking about it , and is a man to just leave alone , why people are still talking about it , yes it was wrong of Will Smith and regrets it . So please let’s move on and don’t replace Will Smith

  84. The first live action movie was an abhorrent snooze-fest. Rock would do better to avoid that franchise.

  85. Butch Jones

Dwayne Johnson is a good choice however whoever replaces Will Smith is the right choice!

  86. Marvin

I BELIEVE that Dwayne the Rock Johnson would be a trip Genie for Disney!! He’s got a lot of untapped resources as far as characters GO!

  87. Michelle Cornell

I like both men, but for the genie I think will Smith has the charisma that Robin Williams put into the role. I really liked the live version of Aladdin with Will Smith. I don’t think he should be taken out of the role just because he showed a human side of himself at the Oscar’s.

  88. Lori

I think Dwayne Johnson would do well in that role and it would send a message to children that Will Smith’s Behavior was not acceptable

  89. ShadowLilly

I love how everyone is attacking Will Smith for this. Yet at the same time, every woman wants their man to stand up for them like Smith did. Also, if you really look, he was made to do that by his wife. I’m not saying Smith was right in doing what he did, but Rock knows that’s not a comment you make even with permission. They both acted in poor taste, and have moved on, as we all should.

  90. Jkelly

No I don’t think Disney should replace Will Smith – too many actors both male and female have made far worse mistakes and outbursts in the TV/Movie public eye- and was not criticized like Will Smith- still they have their name glorified as if nothing occurred. Don’t make the example out of him- let’s be FAIR! Please!

  91. ShadowLilly

Smith had big shoes to fill, and I think he did wonderful in being Genie. Robin would be proud for Smith’s performance.

  92. Patricia Morrison

I think that they should not replace Will he may have went about it the wrong way but he was defending his wife I don’t think I will see it if they change him, although I like Dwayne I am tired of everyone being so hard on Will and nothing being said about the remarks that were made about his wife

  93. Debs

disney just keeps on biting off their nose to spite their face… theyve already lost Johnny Depp forever because they convicted him before he was found guilty and everything is pointing to him being the victim… he said not even for 300 million would he go back. Now disney is trying to ruin their relationship with will smith too! we all know he was wrong but i think they should slow down banishing all the A list talent beforeno one wants to work for them!

  94. Concerned Aladdin advocate

I think having the rock play the genie is not a good idea. Can’t see him singing and dancing and besides getting a bit tired of having too much fore a so so actor to begin with. Will is on a different level. Yes he made mistakes. Many of us have too. But we will crucify him out of existence. Glad our jobs don’t do the same based on Facebook or Instagram posts

  95. Louise

My vote is for Rob Wriggle

  96. N.S

Will Smith made a mistake by slapping Chris Rock but I’m sure he’s learning his lesson. He’s a good man and has always been a good role model for people. He must’ve be going thru something and overreacted but it is what it is he’s still a good person at heart and one mistake shouldn’t have to ruin his life. He slapped the dude he didn’t sock him or really hurt him or Chris would’ve handled things differently. I think most people know Will normally wouldn’t behave like this. He’s the one who refused to cuss in his music so that should tell you something about him. He has a good heart so I think we need to give him a break!

  97. Lorita

The Rock would be perfect for that role

  98. Rosalie

Great idea on Disney to exchange Will Smith to Dwyane Johnson!

We have to respect others…slapping is not the answer.

  99. Brian

The time has come to JUST STOP! Will Smith is an incredibly talented actor. He had a lapse in judgement and he has apologized and is definitely remorseful. Let it go and stop replacing him or cancelling all of his jobs. Let it go!

  100. Lorena

I love Dwayne! He’s an amazing, funny, beautiful person. I think he’d be great as the genie. I’ve avoided watching the first one even though I really want to because Will is in it. I was tired of him long time ago. He’s a good actor but far to arrogant and I hate that. Can’t get past it.

  101. J.B.

I think it’s time for a change. Everyone thinks that was uncalled for. He has made jokes in the past regarding others actors too. Yes he could have spoken to him after the Oscars back stage. I think Will and his wife are to out spoken as it is regarding their private life. I’ve always liked Will, but he is changing. Maybe because his wife has talked about their troubles so much on air?

  102. Kingston

I think both are great characters, I dont think will should lose his role as genie because of the incident at the oscars he made a mistake he is human, he did apologize. I dont think he should lose his role and should still continue acting.

  103. Jay

Keep Will! We’ve all done stupid things and made mistakes in life. He already apologized. Give him a break.

  104. Melissa Johnson

Will Smith is a great actor and I think he should keep his roles. Jada Smith made Will Smith feel like he needed to react or else. Shame on Jada Smith. The media needs to stop and it will be forgotten.

    1. Charina B

So much for women’s lob and me too. All you women throw Jada under the bus for Will’s reaction. Huh! I would have rolled my eyes too if I didn’t like somebody who kept my name in their mouth, but how is that saying , “Will you better slap him on television and in front of all these people!” You sound like a victim blamer! Here’s a thought, maybe Will had a lapse in judgement and just didn’t like someone making fun of his wife medical condition!

  105. Gigi

How long is Will going to have to suffer for one mistake ??
It’s done and he apologized. I know it was bad , but this isn’t Will.
Between finding about his wife and the nervousness of being nominated for a Oscar ,
    He was already on edge.
I want Will to be Aladdin.

  106. Sue

I think will Smith should still be the Genie no one is perfect and he has paid for his mistake. Because he is a star he gets scorned forever. That is wrong he is not that person you seen at the Oscar’s. He reacted before thinking. He will be punished the rest of his Life?

  107. Michael

Dwayne Johnson As Aladdin??? I’d pay to see that!

  108. Kevin L.

At this point, who do you think you’re protecting? Seems thru all of this, there are several actors, singers, politicians, directors, etc… accused of crimes far worse than that of Will Smith’s and yet their punishment hasn’t turned into a live sentence, like it has for Will Smith. Too often, we seek to make examples of black celebrities, while white washing off the stains of white celebrities. If you’re protecting children, you aren’t. Because what this is showing them is that if you’re ever in a fight as a child, the punishment could effect you as an adult; until death seems the case. Mr. Will faces no criminal charges from the victim, there was no arrest from civil authorities, he’s paid fines and left positions that affect his employment and career. Do you think affecting monies and opportunities to come of Mr. Will is doing what at this point- just shows you have power and that you are a BIGGER bully, (if that’s what you see Will as…) It’s FRUITLESSand serves no purpose and benefits no one but HOLLYWOOD’S EGO!

    1. Delaci

You said it tell truth these ppl still sleep profit off our blacks then they set us up we still slave for them

  109. Karen

I would love it great actor love all his movies and what he does for others and he is very handsome

  110. Karen

I will boycott the movie and have all my friend on social media to post boycott the movie if you use the Rock instead if Will Smith. I’m a school teacher and it will tell my students to tell their friends to boycott the miv
    ie

  111. Charina B

What this man does in his marriage is no one’s business. No one knows if they are happy, u know q what you read in the tabloids say that they can sell. Just like he they are keeping this slap going on for profit. He was wrong for slapping Chris at the Oscars, yeah yeah ,yeah. Chris was wrong for targeting Will’s family because he’s couldn’t get a shot of Jada anymore. Jealousy on Chris part, very much so, stupid on Will”s part, hell yeah! Hell there are stars who have convictions of selling drugs around and in school zones (hint: Tool Time) and the don’t get this much attention! But I guess it wasn’t at the Oscars around a whole bunch of rich, judgemental, hipocrites!

  112. Charina B

Oh and if they replaced Will I’m not going to see it! Chris is getting rich off of that slap. And still targeting Will’s family. Jada must have gold down there. Lol

  113. YoshiAngemon

Wouldn’t this mirror the idea of Dan Castelaneta voicing Genie for Return of Jafar, as opposed to Robin Williams? I think it does, but for ethical reasons, as opposed to financial and contractual.

  114. Delaci

Will the Hollywood yah blacks love set u up Chris was part of the set up run bro they still exploit blacks in movie world michael Jackson said it best they don’t give a dam about us chris they set u up next they keep u cracking jokes about u own ppl wake u black ppl

  115. Tonette Carbone

No one can replace Will Smith . Our judgment doesn’t reflect anything to do with his unique , amazing. Gift he gives us in his acting .
Walk in his shoes , let him be a person ( he just made his” hurting retailed at the wrong time .

  116. Kathy

I think Chris rock was in the wrong. How would you feel if someone said what he said about your spouse. Most of us would do the same as Will Smith did. I think Will Smith should still have the roll. And not loose his other rolls. CHRIS Rock should be the one loosing NOT Will Smith.

    1. BC

      Exactly!!

  117. PJ

I see everyone’s opinion on the happenings of the slap and all but isn’t this comment section to address his role being reprised by The Rock. No one seems to be sticking to the subject matter. Being said no one is taking away from either person but truly I haven’t seen the Aladdin portrayed as fabulous then when Will did it. Everyone knows the story of Aladdin but it’s something to behold to see Will take the role and expand and make it into a most beloved story in Disney now. I recall seeing Robin Williams in the role as well which it was a good job also seeing it done in theatre but there is no one like Will Smith to continue on this role as such. Again The Rock has brought us some wonderful films but honestly people Genie is Will Smith and Will Smith is Genie. Give him all of his props for making exceptional work as there are something’s that just shouldn’t be messed with and that’s a role played by the greats. Will had most definitely earned his place as one of those great stars to not be just expendable. If Genie is to be re-casted Disney most likely will not see the results they are expecting. Why try to fix something that is obviously not broken. The situation with the slap happened, and everyone has moved on. Chalk it up to being human. The emotion was there and it has sense passed. Stop trying to shoot down a MOVIE STAR!!

  118. Denielle

Hell No! Will Smith has a gift that no other actor can emulate. He has a gift; can capture any audience. No one can replace Will. Leave the man alone!

  119. Eileen

I know I will never watch another Will Smith movie again. Nor will I allow my children.
When I saw that slap on the Oscars I was horrified. That disgusted when he and his wife sit smugly there and nothing was done. How can you keep rewarding such bad behavior.

  120. Ana

Dwayne Johnston is a 100% times better actor than will smith if a movie has Dwayne if a movie has Dwayne Johnston best believe am going to see it just cause it has Dwayne Johnston in it.❤

  121. Kevin

I feel that this is a wise choice. I don’t feel awkward or traumatized at all when I see Dwayne Johnson’s appearances. Quite the opposite, in fact. He’s spectacular! With Will Smith on the other hand, I’m still going to need to time to heal from what I saw and felt from his unbridled reaction. 🥺

  122. Doreen

I think it’s ironic how we put famous people on clouds as you can’t touch this. They are human beings and they make mistakes like we all do. It depends on who you are whither it’s blown up are not. The Bible says Judge not for you will be Judged. We are so tired of hearing and seeing this topic. LET’S TALK ABOUT SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN THIS. LET’S STOP HUNGER AND HOMELESS IN AMERICA!!! FOCUS ON THAT!!

  123. Kitten

I think will Smith is a awesome actor ok so he made a stupid split second mistake that doesn’t mean he should be punished forever for it ppl really need to get over it he apologized he is getting help so let him be and all these ppl that are dropping him are the stupid ones ur letting a great actor go this is B’s he doesn’t deserve all this back lash we are all human and we all make mistakes but we shouldn’t be punished forever for it I mean look at murders and rapist they are punished forever so why should will be everyone needs to get over it and move on grow up and let him do what he is best at and as for his marriage that’s his and Jada’s business not everyone else’s

  124. Austin

I won’t touch Fresh Prince or watch an Will Smith movies ever again. Not even being dramatic. Just can’t stomach this clown anymore

  125. Jojosdad

    Anyone but Will Smth.
Had been a fan “FP”, he may as well be dead to me now. Unless you’re black man you may not understand this but the worse part of it was him hitting another black man in front of all those white folks. It’s ok for a friend of your sons to bone your wife but you better not tell any jokes about her.

    1. BC

What about a black man making fun and attacking a black woman who is already fragile about her disease and society’s dictating that the natural look of a black woman is not acceptable. That was Will’s point…don’t attack my wife nor her looks.

  126. Roseann

I would love to see Dwayne Johnson as genie for Disney!!

  127. Margaret

Let Will Smith play his role. He apologized move on. I don’t think joking about someone who has a disease is funny but I also don’t think slapping him was right either. I also think he needs to apologize to Will Smith’s wife for making fun of her disease. Two wrongs don’t make it right. Let Will Smith get lay his roles

  128. Rachael

What Will Smith at the Oscars was so tragic that he should be banned from all movies. My granddaughter an I watched the Oscars together and I was in such disbelief and sickened by his actions that my granddaughter started crying. I had to explain to her that some people do bad things. I will never see one of his movies ever! I know my granddaughter won’t also

    1. BC

I hope you explained that Chris Rock also did a bad thing. It should make you sick to your stomach that a black man attacked a fragile woman with a disease that will eventually kill her and criticized her natural look/hair. If you didn’t, then you need to revisit that conversation. I’m in disbelief at this comment.

  129. Jim

They should just give all wills roles to Chris rock, let him be famous for awhile

  130. Kat

Disney has already said ANY SEQUEL that was NOT in production has been stopped as of May 1st. Only one sequel, I think they said, managed to make the cut because it was already in the last phase of editing. This would be considered a sequel and Disney already didn’t want any adaptation or sequel of the original to be MADE. I’d have to say HELL NO to the Rock as Genie, Will Smith was a stretch because there is NOT A SOUL that can compete with Robin Williams as Genie. And I am a fan of BOTH actors. I personally know neither of them and base my like for them on the screen, who am I to judge what happened, was it wrong YES, but that’s up to them to hash out, it effects me none or my thoughts of their movies and will continue to watch Will smith’s movies and shows in rerun as he’s an amazing actor and has in fact done great things as a human being. We all make mistakes, some bigger then others, this was far from the largest mistake a celebrity has ever made. So unless you know this man personally you really shouldn’t judge him based on ONE incident when there is a Million great things he’s done.

  131. BC

Do not replace Will’s Genie character. He was absolutely wonderful for this role. He is human and was just protecting his wife. Chris Rock was out of line making a comment about Jada considering her struggle. It isn’t just dark humor/comedy and Hollywood needing to have a thick skin. It was an attack on a black woman in a society that seems to shun natural looks and on a woman struggling with a disease that took a defining part of her as a female dictated by society. Should Will have punched him…no, but Will was defending his wife’s honor after the horrified look on her face. Chris Rock shouldn’t have antagonized him even more when he did get on the stage and as he was walking back. It is irrelevant they have an open marriage. When you love someone, you won’t stand for that person to be hurt. In the heat of the moment, he wasn’t thinking. He truly regretted his actions after. Leave him alone and let him continue his amazing career as an actor. After all, most husbands defend their wives and society upholds it for everyone but Hollywood. I would expect my honor to be defended too!

  132. Keep Will! It was a bad day! It’s done and over! Move on!

  133. Connie

Leave Will in . We all love him in films . He made a mistake and apologized . We all are human and make mistakes.

  134. Jacob

Neither of them should be the genie when the best person for the role is Terry Crews.

He would be “phenomenal cosmic power! Ittty bitty living space…” we’ve all wanted.

  135. Jessica

Will Smith Should be replaced. He acted Disgraceful at the Oscar’s. Screaming out and assaulting Chris Rock.. Will Smith is a Bully and he showed the world his true colors.

  136. Sherry

I used to love Will Smith but I’m totally against violence of any kind. Dwayne Johnson would be great for the role. He seems gentle and kind.

  137. Jacquelyn

I hope not because love will Smith he very dam good actor the actor is not even that good

  138. JR

Will Smith will make a comeback! He is still a Hollywood ICON and Treasure! Let him continue to play THE GENIE and do not put Dwayne Johnson… Who is no where near as Serious or Funny as Will Smith. You need both. Johnson does not have that, esp when it comes to showing emotion in acting. Will Smith is very talented and he should continue the role.

Every once in a while someone as talented and human as Smith… Blows a gasket. There are pressures on actors that the common person cannot realize. He made a mistake the way it was handled and he’s apologized. Let’s move on, give him space, and continue to watch him perform!!

  139. Cathy

Will had apologize so don’t take the part from him. He deserves a 2nd chance. Let’s move on the man said he was sorry 😐

  140. Carol W Hess

    Perfect casting!

  141. Aya

I support Will Smith for his chivalry in defending his wife. Perhaps more men should do the same ( although not in the same same eay but good for him to be chivalrous his roles enhances our children

  142. Carol W Hess

Perfect casting! Dwayne will be a great genie!

  143. AJ

More men should stand up to support their spouse and family so yeah for Will Smith in doing so. Either actor is good for the role but my hat to Will Smith for his chivalry

  144. Bam

Why is their realtionship even a topic. The topic should be about the reason and its all about Will smacking Chris. My husband would of smacked Chris too.. No man should speak of another mans wife. Will was defending his wife. Obviously Will loves his wife. People need to mind their own business. The trolling is crazy.
Why isn’t Chris Rock being canceled for making fun of Jada? Who does he think he is speaking on womans health.

  145. DCM

Leave Will Smith in! He is a great entertainer. Also he was defending his wife’s honor. Chris Rock was insensitive and insulting.

  146. Love Walt

Two percent of America (maybe ten percent of Disney) give a poo about all this woke cancel garbage. Disney should stick to is absolute mastery of magic and entertaining and stay a million miles away from the social justice rot. Just remember, what you cancel today may come for you later. Karma’s a b.

  147. Alberto

Better Choice with the “ROCK” Move on Smith….

  148. I think the Rock is great choice. And a good decision on Disney The fans will not be disappointed. Dwayne Johnson is a good actor a great actor

  149. I think the Rock is great choice. And a good decision on Disney The fans will not be disappointed. Dwayne Johnson is a great actor.

  150. Rebling

Will Smith has been punished enough. No one seems to care that the remark he responded to was bullying, that cr has said he will only speak if he gets paid, and he is now making jokes about Will. It couldn’t have been that traumatic! Let Will act. I am NOT a fan of violence, but I am not a fan of bullying either. This was at least the 2nd time cr made insensitive remarks about Will’s wife. He must not be a very good comic if he couldn’t have come up with something honestly funny.

  151. Jeannette

Yes. I love Will Smith he did wrong one time. I don’t agree with what he did but he is not a monster. He is a good human. Always has been. Cut him a break

  152. P

The moment passed. People get slapped all the time. Why is this any different? Let this man make movies we love again. Move on. Dwayne has been in too much.

  153. Allen

I think Disney should replace Will Smith. While I understand why he got mad at Chris Rock, he had no right to assault him. We as a society need to do more to show that that type of action should not be tolerated no matter who you are. Doing so would set an example for others who may see Will’s action as an acceptable response.

  154. Will Smith is a actor I love. He had a human moment. If we were all judged for our human faults no one would ever have a life worth living. If it was my family and they had been attacked more than once by the same person/comedian I would have smacked them as well. No one should be bullied by anyone behind a mic or not. No matter their age!

  155. Dyan

Celebrities, friends, family, who has the right to just show the wrong side of yourself especially when its on live television broadcasting, what was he trying to prove? There was jokes that was made about celebrities but they all know it’s a joke to make everyone. As for as for an open marriage? That’s a sin, a sin has consequences no wonder he lashed out! I loved all of Will’s movies but not so much anymore. Replace him with Dwayne.

  156. Tyson

My family and I wouldn’t go see a movie where Will is replaced. I wouldn’t support that. Will definitely made a mistake, but who hasn’t? No rational minded person would look down on Disney for having a movie with Smith as a character imo.

  157. C

    That would be awesomeness.

  158. Lacey

    100% agree

Let him continue ue too act

  159. Will Smith is a very talented actor, I say let him keep his rolls in movies. If he has a good record as far as not losing his temper, becoming violent with co-actors while filming let him continue. If he is replaced the movie studios may not have the viewing audience they had before replacing him.

  160. Marlene Gutierrez

I don’t think he should be punished for making a mistake. He has already been punished by being removed from the Oscars. Jada is going through a hardship and her husband didn’t want her to be made out to be a joke. Chris Rock has a big month and should not have said what he said PERIOD. Please keep Will Smith 🙏 he is a forever Icon and has proved to have done more good in his career than bad. We shall not judge him on this one mistake and kick him while he’s down.

  161. Daivyaughn Bowens

I believe that’s a horrible decision because Will Smith is Genie and Dwayne Johnson is Maui and neither one of their voices what match for that role

  162. Julius

I just can’t envision The Rock as the Genie! Everyone makes a mistake once or twice in a Lifetime! Give him his Movies back and let Chris deal with the issues! Now,if Will is stupid enough to do it again then Clean him Out!!

  163. Colleen

I think he should be replaced. My 11 year old son brought up what he did a few weeks ago, mentioned how he was a good person, he always saw him as a role model, and what he did was wrong and changed how he sees him. We teach our children about consequences and his actions were extremely wrong, plus the way he reacted after he really didn’t seem genuinely sorry. Yes, he is good at his job, but within any career if you screw up you get in trouble. He physically and verbally attacked someone and on national television..
Again, he is a role model. Now, just like with any other actor in his position there need to be consequences that would happen to anyone who physically and verbally attacks someone. Maybe after therapy, anger management he can get his job back….

  164. COLEMAN

Adults are being rediculous now with Will Smith. Don’t destroy rhe man because he cared about someone that does not care about him. You guys are just buǀǀies and responding very childish to the incident. Get over it already. One incident should not destroy a person. None of us are perfect. Do not destroy him. He does not deserve it after all the great things he has done. He slapped a man not a woman for someone he thought was hurt about what Chris said. Stop it already. Disney do not repǀace him or you will be a part of the plot to destroy legend.

  165. Mai

Don’t get married if you going to have open marriage it must make them very happy. If they was happy they would not seek outsiders my husband and I been marriage for 43 years he treated me like a queen we have a wonderful life. We have always been there for each other when I have cancer and they told me I have 6 months to live he was devastated I told him I needed to find him a new wife he didn’t want any. But the good lord see fit to let me live I have never seen my husband so happy 😊 now he get up everyday is a blessing he Said because I’m still here.

  166. Angel

Will has been punished enough. It’s time to move on. This movie will not be the same without Will Smith, so don’t waste your time. Give it back to Will.
Now if only he would drop that bimbo Jada

    1. C. Ross

Why are we so ridiculously invested in other people’s marriages and relationships, in other people’s personal business. If whatever Will and Jads have works for them, more power to them. We all need to be a little less sanctimonious.

  167. B. Vincent

That would be an option just as Chris Rock would be.

  168. Jim

I don’t support what Will Smith did in any way. It was insane. It seems symptomatic of his toxic marriage and resulting mental collapse. But why is Will losing every project, role and endorsement he has while Ezra Miller has kept his jobs after he has assaulted multiple women, has been arrested several times and had a restraining order filed against him by a couple he terrified for no reason?

Hmmmmm. Seems like the reason for their very different treatment is skin deep.

    1. Adam

Well said, sir. You hit the nail on the head there, for sure.

  169. Gabby

People need to get over it already. Will Smith needs to be the genie in Aladdin 2. It won’t be the same without him

  170. Abilene

I love both actors but it wouldn’t be the same without will smith as genie. That’s all I’m gonna say.

  171. C. Ross

I really like both Will Smith and Duane Johnson but, frankly, I don’t give a damn about Will Smith slapping the hell out of Chris Rock for making a crass, hurtful remark about his wife, regarding an extremely sensitive issue for her—apparently, nothing is off limits, as long as it’s for the sake of comedy.

There has, for years, been far less backlash against men who have done far worse in the industry. Will Smith slapping Chris Rock for humiliating Jada, in what should have been a great night for them, is far less onerous to me than the sexual assaults against actresses by powerful men, that went on for decade upon decade, with no repercussions.. The fact that we’re finally seeing it and punishing it, does not negate how Hollywood and the Academy let it go unpunished for decades.

Smith has taken his knocks for his behavior, with grace. I’d still rather see him as Genie, than anyone else. And, maybe, Chris Rock should keep the names of everyone’s wives and daughters out of his f*cling mouth, just for the sake of comedy. Or, let’s see lots more comedy at the expense of Chris’ Mom, sisters and daughters. That’s only fair, right?

    1. Sarah

Amen. You said that well C. Ross

  172. Sarah

I don’t think a person should be judged by one misguided act unless it was a sexual assault or murder. Let Will have a chance to redeem himself. Not sure why we are discussing this as it just isn’t that important. Things like the proxy war we are waging with Russia, the gas prices, overturning of Roe vs Wade. These are much more important. Besides Will Smith would be better as the genie than Dwayne Johnson. He’s just not as funny

    1. Laura

      So true. Priorities!

  173. Laura Beauregard

So glad everyone is so perfect they can throw stones. He made an awful mistake. He apologized. He has been punished in multiple ways. That is it now? You make a mistake and can never have a life? A job? Nothing? Unreal. I do not support what he did. But he should not be punished forever.

  174. Mio

All actors and actresses make mistakes. The media is always hungry for a story or to put someone in the limelight for choices they make based on emotions. It’s so stupid. Leave them alone! Honestly, I don’t care for actor/actress changes in a series of movies. It always puts a bad taste in my mouth. I’d prefer Will Smith finish what he started even if I haven’t seen the film yet. Changing it will only make me want to not see it that much more.

  175. Rochelle Ellis

I love the Rock.. He is the reason I started watching wrestling again… But him as the Genie,, Naaaa I don’t think so…. I got pass him as the tooth fairy… But y’all choose Will for Genie leave it alone… If no Will then no part two… Simple…. Because now you about to make it a black n white thing, not Kool.. you didn’t even pick another black actor, I love you Rock n this has nothing to do with you, it what they trying to put you in… It not right on that part… Yes Will Smith was wrong, but this movie had nothing to do with that either…. Love y’all good night… Ro ..

  176. Ansari

Brilliant, Mr Johnson will definitely take the role( Genie ) to new heights.

  177. Donna

Simple. It’s Will in the role or no one for me. I like Duane Johnson, but he is not as good an actor as Will, despite Will’s recent incident. He walked the line for over 35 years perfectly, and because Will made one slip up, he should be cancelled? That’s ridiculous.

    1. Rob

I agree. The guy is a great person and great actor. Let’s give him a break

    2. Rebecca

I’m a Huge fan of The Rock & the idea of him playing the Genie role.He is a Family Man & been Very Sucessful at every role and area of His Life. I think he would be Perfect for that role.I would take my children & grandchildren to see it . I Love & Respect 🙏 You So Much ❤ God’s Blessings 🙌 Always Johnson Family One day I hope to meet My Favorite Man on Planet Earth Besides My Father of Course 😇🥰

  178. LoisZigmund

    He would be perfect

  179. Monica

First of all t Disney to movie production and the Oscar shame on you to give will smith’s a hard time by punishment to keep him out of everything that he can’t attend to there’s worse actors then that that sexual female up in the set’s drug addict that went way beyond that back stab and took what ever they want that hurted the closest one to them and act like a fool on tv and yet that wasn’t right what actors that did worse then will smith but it was ok because they were white and noticed when a black person act like that to me it wasn’t wrong for him to do that that’s what Chris Rock gets anyways to tell you the truth he should got more than a slap for the disrespectful comment he made knowing what will smith wife going through that was wrong she is sick that she can’t grow her hair back and for Chris rock making jokes about her knowing her condition its like he should make fun of disabled people and mental illness people as a joke haha because it’s so funny for him to do that because he has the right to make fun of people with illness and doesn’t have to apologize to anyone even if breaks the people who has the illnesses and disability but it was wrong for will smith to stand up for his wife to get it straight don’t say anything about his wife just like anyone else would do like us normal people do out here that’s what we do back up our relationship sorry for the rich people like movie production the famous people in the world Disney and the Oscar so sorry your to a shame to back up your own wife like he did and you are all wrong for replacing with will smith to the Rock which it’s not a good character for Disney his character is not the type to play Disney he is to build muscler and hard and stiff to relax and be a funny Disney he is to serious he is not the right person to be place if it was to me I rather choose Kevin Hart. So bleep you Disney and the Oscar and so on that is going against with will smith and standing by Chris Rock that it’s okay to make fun of people with illnesses and disabilities because I’am disabled once a time in my life I wasn’t disabled I could walk do things for my self until one day I decided to go to school to show my 7 kids that I can go to school and become something since I was a single mother no father to help he wasn’t in there lives but on the second month of school just getting into message therapy that I attended to go for the students and the staff worker that teaches massage therapy started to give me a massage on my back I had a funny bone so the teacher started to give me more deeper massage and tells me that she can get rid of the the funny bone on my left side of my back that makes my body jerk up high and said to me The funny nerve on my back she said she can make it go away after all that massaging me with pressure on my back it cause My nerves to get stiff and twitching and all of sudden I passed out and went to the hospital next Day after the All the nerve damage they put pressure on my back cause me not to walk any more from my waist down hard to walk right again because I can’t feel any thing but numbness through my whole body now I became disabled so do you guys from the producers and Disney and the Oscar’s think it’s ok for Chris rock to make stupid jokes on people like me and people with illness with no respect and no apology for his actions then your guilty as him ugly people in the world you shouldn’t be a producer or be the owner of the Oscar and the Disney to be dissing will smith like that it’s not his fault it’s the big mouth Chris Rock mouth making jokes like that because he famous making movies and a comedy person doesn’t make a difference to make it alright to make jokes about a person knowing w she going through. He should be punished too for starting it
to sir up to make to make him do that like if it was a set up. To Disney you are a disgrace to me I don’t want any of my children to look at Disney movies ever again. For your disgrace to making that decision to replace will place him like that it’s not fair Chris Rock should get a punishment to how to have manners and respect for people like that and learn to make jokes in a respectful way.

    1. Adam

Thanks for your honesty! It’s good that people say what they mean. I hope you’re condition improves one day. Life is hard when you’re disabled, I know.

    2. Kathy

And look what happened to Johnny Depp! And the accusations against Johnny Depp are here say! Will Smith on the other hand actions had an audience of millions! Will and Jada Smith made their bed, now they can lie in it!

  180. David Usler

I donated every Will Smith movie I had to Goodwill. I will never see another one of his movies. So in the next Aladdin movie anyone but Will Smith will do

  181. LCASES

Love the idea. Dwayne Johnson would make an awesome Genie!

  182. Rob

Jada is toxic to Will. I love Will smith in all his movies, one of my favorite actors of all time. He needs to move on from that toxic wife and everyone can move on from the incident

    1. Deanna

      Yes!!!

  183. Adam

I believe Dwayne Johnson is a hugely underrated actor and, I predict, that he too, will one day win an Oscar for Best Actor. Who better to take over from Will Smith?

  184. Daniel Phan

Unfortunately the downfall of Will Smith has began. There’s no stopping it now.

  185. Kdl

I would strongly support Disney’s decision to replace actor Will Smith with the Rock. There’s just a bad taste about the Will Smith persona, which unfortunately impacts any movies he might be in.

    1. I wish they would leave will Smith alone. It seems like they are trying to take everything that he has worked for all his life away. He has made a lot of accomplishments, and he is a good person and a very good actor. The ones that are trying to take everything from him are the jealous and envious ones who were probably smiling in his face claiming they are on his side. We all have made mistakes, large and small, the difference with Will Smith is we all are in his business as if we know him, but he don’t know us or our business. Leave him alone and let the man handle his business.

  186. Whatever the case may be about his marriage let me just tell you how it looks from my perspective. White middle aged male in California who liked Will Smith before this incident. His movies were cool and he seemed like a pretty cool person with a good personality. Lost all positive feelings for him when I saw that incident. All of a sudden he was this thin skinned hypocrite cuckold in my eyes. Has anyone seen the roasts of Justin Bieber James Franco Bruce Willis on Comedy Central? I mean the jokes are next level nasty. Crazy personal. Nobody is getting slapped. That joke was so mild it was like nothing. So lame to get that mad and to think he is THAT important that he can just go onstage during the live taping of the Oscars and assault the host. I was and still am disgusted because he looks like such a coward and that speech when he won the Oscar 5 minutes later…all of his p.c. sycophantic fellow actors giving him a standing.ovation for that ridiculousness sealed it for me. I would have preferred to use swear words on this comment but afraid it would get deleted. But yeah F*#$ Will Smith and too bad his life is cancelled going forward. Chris Rock on the other hand …well I didn’t like him THAT much before but Iove him now.

  187. Judy

I am sick of this, I have one question I keep waiting for someone to ask. It may have been a joke to everyone else but! WHEN is Chris Rock going to apologize to Jada. So lay off Will until then.

    1. Andrea Smith

      I agree with you!

  188. Erika

This would be a huge let down for fans of the movie. The Rock doesn’t hold a candle to Will’s acting and humor. I think Disney has to realize some of it’s biggest fans are older and understand that life happens. This goes for Will and Johnny. Their fans love them.

  189. STEPHANIE Donald

    Let’s Rock with it!

  190. Kathy

Why not remove Will Smith? Johnny Depp was removed from the Pirates franchise? And there is no doubt about Will Smith’s action!

    1. Andrea Smith

And there is the point. The actor who replaced Johnny Depp sucked. I hope they do not make the same mistake twice.

  191. Cynthia

I think move on ! Will smith had an outburst ! An apology was in place ! Move on ! All this talk of removing him is what’s keeping what happened in place ! He’s an extremely great actor and deserves another chance !

  192. The M

I think The Rock would be just as good, and I would watch it. I am boycotting all things associated with Will Smith. I was going to watch King Richard, but canceled my plans. I can’t stomach not just his act of violence when he “ sucker slapped” Chris Rock, but the absolute arrogance and sense of privilege that he thinks he can do it and humiliate another human being on a platform viewed by MILLIONS. Feels like karma with The Rock vindicating Chris Rock. Let’s see. Will Smith try to Sucker Slap “ The Rock”!!!

    1. Addine Cobb

How the hell was that a SUCKER slap? He walked straight up , there was no sneak attack!!

    2. Andrea Smith

You lucked out. King Richard was a great movie. My question to you is, have you ever done something that you wish you had not in hind site? Do you think you should lose all you have because of it?

  193. Addine Cobb

I’m so very sorry people, but there is not ANYONE who can replace Will Smith!! Not anyone , not Dewayne Johnson, not Katt Williams , NO ONE.
Will Smith , is a ONE OF A KIND!! Kinda Man…
And OMG so he snapped!! HES HUMAN!! yall are ruining this wonderful man’s life . Because he is indeed a man?? Yall need to do better… seriously

  194. Tony Lombardi

Let’s move ! Will Smith is a good guy I love his movies. I think him being a genie again would be great. He made that movie success full.

  195. Deanna

    Let’s forgive and forget.

  196. Brittney Bennett

Will smith shouldn’t be taken out or replaced because of one little statement he made sure Rock would remember. No matter if Rock new about Jaden health condition . Will Smith action doesn’t change his character or how truly good he is as a person or his characters. He is the new Genie 🧞‍♂️ and I’m sure Robin Williams would agree. Keep Will Smith as Genie in Aladdin 2 .

  197. Diane

I would like to see Dwayne Johnson in the role of Genie.
I don’t wish to see any movie with Will Smith in it.

  198. Dee

This is a horrible move. No shade to the Rock but I think all would agree that his talents are no substitute for Mr. Smith.

  199. Theresa Vandever

A resounding YES! If they can remove Johnny Depp for something he isn’t guilty of then removing Will Smith for what he IS guilty of shouldn’t even be a question. I think he should be removed from all Disney productions including the narrating the genie at Disney world.

  200. Frances Ross

I have always admired Will Smith in the prince of Bel Air. However, he showed his true personality when he ruined the Oscar’s with a show of his temper. He should have handled the situation with grace with respect to the event.

  201. Dianna Kusel

Just drop it. He has apologized publicly Or what he did. What is the best actors does it ever has been Seen on screen. He was defending his wife. Maybe he went about it the wrong way but it was the heat of the moment and he has publicly appolligized left the academy what else do you want from him?

  202. Patricia

    🙌🏼
A big YES to Dwayne Johnson! Great move Disney! Kudos!

  203. If you guys don’t want to see the comments, don’t asked. This has nothing to do with will an his wife marriage. Hollywood is full of crap, this is full of racism. And has far has the Oscar’s, before his ten years are up. The Oscar’s are going to be like the dinosaur. If they’re already are look at the rating numbers. More and more people are watching other things. And besides Will was a to cool genie!!!

  204. Yoto

Unfortunately, once you’re in the public eye ie fame. Nothing you ever do is private almost ever again.

  205. Linda

Will Smith is an exceptional actor, certainly better than Chris Rock. Where is the Grace and forgiveness. No way he should or could be replaced. People need to just move on and allow him to move on.

    1. Although Dwayne Johnson is sensational in action movies, I don’t see the box office draw for him to fill big shoes of Will Smith. Many actors and actresses make mistakes and are given a second chance.
Will Smith, will always draw a box office of 100’s of millions dollars, if not billions of dollars. Dwayne Johnson, although charismatic is just not there yet. He does not offer the versatility of a seasoned actor nor does he have a commanding presence; maybe in brawn but that is a category within itself.

  206. WITH DISNEY RESENT ACTIONS ON TURNING ON PARENTS , PUSHING TO TEACH SEXUAL TRANSGENDERS TO ELEMENTY LEVEL CHILDREN IN FLORIDA . WILL SMITHS ACTIONS JUST AS DEGRADING . TWO PEAS IN A POD . WILL DISNEY INCLUDE A RIDE TO SHOW TRANSGENDER LIFE STYLE ? YOU ALREADY LOST AS SMITH DID AND SEE NO END. 😢 RETIRING MICKEY MOUSE !!

  207. Andrea Smith

I pray I never make a mistake that requires that I loose all I have ever worked for because small minded people cannot forgive. When will his apology be enough???

  208. Lilly Stockman

I think Dwayne Johnson would be great as Aladdin,

  209. Sherri

Look Will Smith has been already punished enough let that man play in that show we all make mistakes we all humans so what if you did the same thing would you take yourself off the air just because he’s been punished enough let it go he needs to play in Aladdin too

  210. We all make mistakes everyday of our lives so how long are you going to continue to punish Will Smith for a mistake that he made everybody has a weak moment so stop stop trying to change something he played Aladdin continue to let him play it he’s already been punished enough by the media and all y’all

  211. Vanessa

I Love the Rock But he is no Will Smith by far. Just my opinion

  212. Toni M Hershkowitz

He deserves to lose his career after assaulting chris rock. He should have been arrested on the spot for assault!!!

  213. Kat D.

I think everyone should move on to something else. Will was defending his wife, whatever anyone thinks about her, he was doing what he felt he needed to do. Comedians are nothing more than highly paid bullies. When you start making fun about something a person has no control over, like their appearance, you are a bully plan and simple. I am proud of him for standing up for her. He could have done it in a better way, but you don’t know what you would do in any given situation. I love Dwayne Johnson but I don’t think he or anyone else could portray Genie as well as Will Smith. It would be a big mistake to replace him in that role.

  214. Alice

Ok, so I’m understanding that Disney is ok with Will Smith physically assaulting someone on live television, but they dropped Johnny Depp for alleged physical assault that is being proven was false? Does this make any sense? Need to be fair across the board.

  215. Nickie

OMGOSH…I’m so sorry that Mr. Rock got slapped but come on people if it had been done by anyone else would such an enormous ordeal been made of it? For that matter continues to be the daily topic of conversation! YES Mr. Smith was wrong! He acknowledged it and admitted it. I felt his apology came from a genuine place. He has had some pretty big consequences. People NEED TO MOVE ON AND LET THE MAN GET BACK TO HIS LIFE!!! It’s over done!!! LET GO! Let GOD!!!

  216. Warren

Sounds like a great idea replacing Will with Dwane. Dwane is a great person and a better fit for the role anyways.

  217. Plasko

Nobody else think it a little racist that Disney thinks they can swap out one dark-skinned guy for another, and hope people will not notice?

  218. Paula Reddy

I don’t think that Disney should remove Will Smith. He’s a great actor and father. Everyone has emotions and he apologized. We all make mistakes. Give Will Smith a break.

  219. Sharon Stallings

I really hope that people can move on from the Oscars incident. He apologized and resigned. He is banned for 10 years. I don’t think he should continue to be punished by taking parts from him, especially one (Genie) that he previously played.

  220. Danielle

The Genie have the ability to change his form so if they are going to change How It Will Smith for Dwayne Johnson they should at least have Will Smith for short time period before changing to Dwayne Johnson or just simply have the genie saying that he liked that form better. Perhaps Will was ready to retire but couldn’t and the whole, “slap heard around the world” was just a ploy to get out of his contact with Disney and other jobs 🤷🏼‍♀️

  221. Daisy Woodleyyy

Think it would be better for Will Smith to play that part. The other guy, Johnson? , does not fit the part.

  222. J Carodine

I thought the joke was funny; so did Will. Jada should have kept her health issues to herself and just wore wigs. If you can’t take a joke, then don’t blab to everyone. Just 6 yrs ago, they were boycotting the Oscar’s. I really don’t think the movie was Oscar worthy. Love Will and Dwayne; the genie won’t be the same if they change the main character at this point.

  223. Musics

Get over this already! Will Smith was defending his wife’s disability, an it’s hard for anyone much less a women! Chris Rock shouldn’t had said, anything or joke about a disability like this.period!!
Let this be, Will Smith has punished himself enough! STOP!

  224. William

Yeah. Smith had his rain. Thanks to his wife it’s over.

  225. I agree that he is a phenomenal actor. He was defending his wife, wouldn’t anyone do the same thing in some way ,shape or form? Let Will Smith continue his work, he has enough inner grief to work out , so people should not add to that. Treat others how you would like to be treated. Smith has brought so much love, compassion and courage into people’s lives. Please let that continue.

  226. Shellie

I think it’s outrageous. I think a man stood up for his wife with an illness and people should get over it. He apologized… move on. The president of the United States can make errors and get less flack.

  227. Mayra

Why must he continued to be punished? It was totally out if character for him to do that and he’s has apologized for it, but they continue to talk about it. He made a mistake, don’t we all we’re all human. What evere happened to let bygones be bygones. I hope that he can continue his acting. I think he is a great actor.

  228. Chris Rock had it comming. He bullied his wife. She is sick. Its just like the kids that bully other kids and you get fed up.He just slepped him. Will Smith should be back making movies. He did what was right. You don’t disrespect others and bring them up in front of many people. Will Smith woll make a better Genie.

  229. Bring Will Smith back..
