The truth is that the kid squirmed and that’s why paint got there, because these painters know how to do their job as that’s what they are trained to do and it’s basically their job to do temp tats and face painting

I wanna correct my previous statement, as it’s both the parents and kids fault for not WASHING the paint off prior to going to bed

I guess the customer is always wrong then, huh? Nice customer relations.

I did face painting all my life not at any theme parks but at parties are festivals but never did it at a major park and my mom was so strict that when i got out of the shower and she sees one spot of paint anywhere it’s back in the bathroom before bed. I hope the girl gets better soon and get back in those roller coasters.🎢🎠🎡

It sounded like the amusement park and the face painting vendor didn’t seem to understand the issue. From what I read, it sounded like a histamine reaction, not due to any lack of sanitary protocol, so the park and vendor replies seem out of context.

I did face painting in casinos for years also. I’m willing to bet it was latex paint. A lot of people who jump into face painting do not realize that you have to use ONLY water based paints made for this. I’ve seen a lot of people trying to get away with latex because it’s only 99 cents a bottle. There are a lot of people allergic to latex and it will put out fumes that will irritate your eyes not to mention the rash you can get on your face.

I’m curious to know what type of paint was used.

Interviewed mama here, my daughter was misdiagnosed in the ER with pink eye. I took her to an eye surgeon Tuesday morning. The paint applied was put on her eyelids, which is to never be put on the eyes. Her actual eyeballs were so inflamed and infected bc of the paint and glitter. The glitter was what caused her cornial abrasions. The infection in her eyes is from the paint being literally inside her eye and mimicked signs of pink eye.

I have been in contact with the owner of the company who does the face painting and assured him I was not sueing nor did I want money. Very kind man, who was also very concerned for my daughter. He has offered to pay the medical bills, which I refused multiple times, and he would not take no for an answer.

She has pink and glitter tears running from her eyes as the paint is trying to come out of her eyes.

The owner and eye surgeon said that facepaint should never be applied to the eyes and that was a mistake on the artist. Red dyes in facepaint have microscopic shards of metals in them which makes it so bad for the eyes.

Also, to note, non toxic means if it is ingested, not for use physically in eyes and all facepaint says on the label, even the company who makes this partucular facepaint says keep away from eyes.

She should recover by the end of the week with her antibiotic eye drops provided.

I’m not an idiot and know how pink eye works 😂 I thought it was odd, but was going off what I was told by a physician.

The type of paint used was tag body paint. On their website it says in big bold text, not for use near eyes.
