I hate The Simpsons Ride! It made me sicker than any other ride in the Universal/Islands, the four Disney parks, and SeaWorld during my visit to Orlando in Feb 2022. This includes the intense version of Mission: SPACE which makes me really dizzy!

    1. Jerry T. Brink

I’ve rode the “Simpson’s” ride probably 25 times. It’s my favorite ride at Universal. These individuals who are complaining should stay home because Obviously, they are fragile.

      1. Golden

True. You can’t badmouth a ride because it turns out it wasn’t for you. I’ve had plenty of friends ride “thr zipper” with me at our local carnival and puke their guts out, then ride it again.

      2. Alan D

Thank you!! I agree! This ride was awesome! Even my 5 year old enjoyed it! What a bucha pansies lol…

    2. Michelle

Really? We went on it at least 50 times. My kids loved it

      1. Isaac

I guess some people just can’t a ride like that….. plus 1 of billion who rode never experienced the same scenario…being young and fit has nothing to do with motion sickness… older people got on and still enjoyed the ride….

        1. Clifton Brewer

Exactly. It’s the same reason we have folks in the Air Force who end up dropping out of pilot training, or even UAV (drone) training don to motion sickness. It really sucks seeing it happen as so many want nothing more than to be a pilot in the service, but they just can’t get past that hurdle.

      2. Jesse

This site is the most dramatic and ridiculous site I’ve ever read. It makes Infowars look like NPR. Terrorizes??? Give me a break.

    3. Yeppers

The orange version of mission space will make just about anyone sick. They have puke bags in every seat. I have not rode the Simpson yet but there is no possible way it was worse than mission space

  2. EricJ

I haven’t been on the Simpsons ride, but if it’s any bumpier than the old Back to the Future ride it replaced, THAT’S serious whiplash…

    1. Golden

Back to the future was replaced by the other simpsons ride and I’ll tell you it was quite a disappointment. I loved the back to the future ride.

      1. Golden

Wait I just read more and they are talking about the one that replaced the back to the future. I really don’t understand how you could get sick at all on that it’s extremely tame

  3. Joem

Some of those reddit users complained that they got sick every time they rode it….umm, stop riding it then!!

    1. Victoria L

This is less intense than the Back to the Future Ride it replaced.

    2. Tina

This ride is AMAZING, I went on it several times along with my son and my boyfriend and none of is had even the slightest issue. So it depends on the person, I wouldn’t skip this ride it’s awesome!!!

  4. Quiet Rob

Make sure to never use a VR headset then…I get sea sickness when stepping into a cruise ship and this ride is less intense than a merry-go-round.

    1. I took my daughter there for her Birthday. Just loved the Harry Potter Ride. But when it came to the Simpson ride I felt like I had whiplash from the jerking.I hit my head so hard that I had a headache the rest of the day.Even thou the cartoon that played was amusing. I would not recommend this ride if you have neck or back problems.

  5. Danny

The ride is fine and doesn’t even move you that much. These people need to grow up. Also write better and more relevant articles lol.

    1. Denise

It’s not the movement of the car you are sitting in that makes one sick. It’s the motion on the screen. Don’t be so condescending.

    2. Trent

I agree. This ride is old as dirt, and people are just now complaining? Sounds to me like they just needed to post a news story today or something.

  6. Troy

Man what a soft generation we have today. It’s basically a simulator ride the seats only move around 3 in. Give me a break!

    1. GDE

Right? It’s not even 3-D anymore. I’ve always enjoyed that ride.

    2. Vinnie

      Agreed
It’s only a simulator with no real motion
And if you do start to feel sick there is a simple solution
      CLOSE YOUR EYES!!!

      1. Linda

Then what’s the point of riding if you are going to close your eyes. And yes, there are people (me included) who can go on any wild roller coaster but some motion simulator rides make me dizzy and they are not fun. Whatever happened to real innovation with these parks trying to one up the other with their crazy rides? No fun for a lot of people

        1. Jc

This is ride is a lot of fun. I’ve gone it it with different age groups and no problem. If you can’t handle this ride you might as well forget riding any other ride at Universal. I Agee this generation is soft.

  7. Kelsey

I love the Simpsons ride! Ride or multiple times and never got sick

    1. Linda

      That is great for you.

  8. Gatorfan81

I have horrible motion sickness and the Simpson ride is tame to me.

  9. Sage

Luke! I’m glad I’m not the only 1 who LOVES Cosmic Rays!

  10. John

    Was fun.

  11. Ride Warrior

I love the Simpsons ride. If you can’t read the warnings about it and choose to ride anyways nobody’s fault but your own. And you’re a puss. 😂😂😂😂😂

  12. Holly

Been on that ride even my 8 year old granddaughter. It was awesome . we rode it a few times. I guess some can handle it and some cant

  13. Penny Layne White

I agree on the comments from the guests who also said they got sick. I would say that anyone who is epileptic show not go on it sue to the strobe lights (I believe that’s posted) but I began having anxiety/panic attacks about 20 years ago and this affected my balance and vision. I had vertigo for a while as well with the sensation of falling forward. I’m not sure how these things are all connected in the brain but this ride did it to me as well. Will never go on it again.

  14. Laura

I’ve never had a problem with Simpsons ride. It doesn’t move too much ether. I wonder if this is a case of folie à deux.

  15. lorraine

I Rode that ride one time. I usually get queasy on some rides but didnt on that one, I just did not like it at all, …..If you dont like it or it makes you sick, JUST DONT RIDE IT AGAIN and move on

  16. EGjr

    Lmao 🤣

I have been saying this for years!

The Simpsons ride is absolutely horrible and needs to be completely removed.

I only recommend this ride to people I really dislike or if someone that I take to universal and they are ruining my day at the park.

Drinking liquor like a fish during a hot day at the park then riding velostercoaster, Hulk, Storm then cat in the hat in a row > Simpsons ride.

    1. KyleO

Lol you can’t handle it so it needs to be removed…great logic from a great person /s

      1. Matt

Or, the fact that multiple people say the same thing and many ride fan sites constantly talk about how terrible the ride is because half the people that ride it get sick is a great reason for Universal to ditch it.

      2. Jenkins

That ride is weak af. These “guests” probably find the Dr Seuss rides very thrilling.

    2. Purplerainicorn

I don’t think the ride needs to be removed, but the seat/restraint is the most uncomfortable configuration of any ride that exists at any major theme park today.

I don’t get motion sickness on simulator rides, but the bar on this ride clamped down badly on my bones and internal organs and I sincerely think that’s why people are getting sick.

Maybe they could just update the restraint and add some cushioning and then it would be fine? But they would have to fix the foot area, too, because no one is going to feel good riding a ride with their feet getting pinched.

    3. MaryAnn

Went with family in May 2019. I agree, the images on the screen can mess with you. If I felt I wasn’t going to like something I closed my eyes for a few seconds. We didn’t get sick but even my husband complained a bit about it. Each person is different with what they can handle.

  17. Lisa

Im not sure why some people get dizzy on this ride, me and my family love this ride and try and go on it over & over when lines are short. I guess you can say Universal really knows what their doing that the ride’s simulation feels so real that people actual think their moving with all the twists and turns. 👍🤷🏻‍♀️

  18. Matt

I rode the Simpsons ride and can definitely agree, I spent half the ride with my eyes closed, I was so nauseous. A friend of mine who loves this stuff and never gets sick on rides also said it messed with him. Love the Simpsons but will never ride that again. First time in my life I almost puked in public.

  19. Lucas

The Simpson ride is the best ride at universal.. y’all are just weak

    1. Kp

Speak for yourself. I never get sick on anything and this ride made me wanna puke. I couldn’t keep my eyes open.

  20. Cj

Love the ride riders awesome good job mechanical engineers no throwing up on this ride.

  21. Chris

I don’t ride it because I get motion sickness. That being said, use another word other than “terrorize.” That is what is happening in the Ukraine by Russia. This is a ride. Not even close comparison.

  22. Mandolina

Omg YES!!!! That Simpsons ride made me soooo sick the last time I went. I ended up taking off the glasses and just focusing on the seat in front of me and not looking at the screen. I never had motion sickness until recently. The Jimmy Fallon ride got me a little nauseous too. But the Simpsons one was the worst.

  23. TJ

The most intense Ride that I will not ride again is Storm that ride is to fast the Tea Cups ride at Universal Studios I will not ride it again

  24. Kari

Okay…so I have severe issues with my ear which means I get dizzy pretty quick…BUT, I never EVER felt sick or dizzy during the actual ride.

I rode BTTF back in ’94 & found that to be more intense than The Simpsons!

  25. Ava Goldsmith

I am scared to death of roller coasters but I loved this ride. Neither my husband or I felt sick.

    1. ItsJess

…and my husband and I are big fans of roller coasters and both got so nauseous on The Simpsons. Never had any issues on other rides, we go on pretty much everything, but something about the type of animation (for me) plus that scene of the boat bobbing was what did it. Never wanted to get off a ride before or since. When I got off I wondered, “am I just getting old?”- but no, it’s just The Simpsons in particular, for some reason.

  26. Denise

It’s not the motion of the car that makes one sick. It’s the motion on the screen. I get motion sickness also on these types of “motion pictures’. So, I can’t go on them; and good for those who don’t experience this.

  27. Bill

The Back to the Future ride was just as bad. That whole system is simply flawed. And while we’re at it, can we clean up the projects on the potter rides?? They’re getting so fuzzy with time.

    1. Bill

      Dang it. Projections*

  28. Amanda

Why do titles of articles have to be so dramatic? “Terrorizes” is a little extreme. This ride has been there for a long time now, it’s nothing new that it makes you motion sick. I definitely wouldn’t consider that “terrorizing” people. Just the risk of riding rides that you’ve never ridden before, you never know how it’ll affect you.

  29. Kp

I’ve been on every ride in universal. Harry Potter rides, 3d fast and furious and transformers rides. None of them bother me at all and I went on a few multiple times. The Simpsons ride made me feel physically ill. I’ve never had motion sickness in my life and I had to close my eyes throughout and sit down for a while outside afterwards. That ride is nausea inducing

  30. Connie

We LOVE the Simpsons ride!! It’s one of our favorite rides in the park!

  31. Puffy Mcpuffin

It’s really not that bad of a ride as the snowflake Ken’s and Karens of the world are making it out to be. Only thing that changed with the ride was the theme. Same exact movement. Plain and boring. I don’t ride it cause it’s not a fun 1 trick pony.

  32. Joyce

I get motion sick on a lot of rides but never felt sick on the Simpsons ride. It’s always been a fun ride and a family favorite.

  33. Mark

Funny. The Simpson’s ride is one of my favorites. Awesome adventure from start to finish.

  34. CJ

I thought the Transformers Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood left you more ‘motion impaired’ than The Simpsons Ride ….. but both seem tame compared to The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera (that original simulator IMAX Ride from Universal Orlando left you dizzy when you got off – but it was still fun!)

I guess some Park Guests should adhere to the warning sign before getting on the Ride, or Attraction.

  35. Golden

This ride is terrible. Not because of its “intensity” because really it doesn’t exist. I waited almost 2 hours for what seemed like a shoddy copy paste job on a true classic.

  36. Matt

There is no way these people have ridden the velocoaster!!! The Velocicoaster is literally the only ride that has literally moved my stomach up into my throat!

  37. Donna Owen

My husband and I are in our late 50’s, and We absolutely love The Simpsons ride.
Not sure why or how it makes people sick. We are fine afterwards, and are ready for a repeat ride. We have been on this ride at least a total of a dozen times during our previous visit’s to Universal Studios Hollywood. The Transformers ride is much rougher…But, We are even okay with that.

  38. Core

Not all rides are made for everyone. That’s like me riding a roller coaster that flips you, twists, turns, and loops you around. Then getting off of it and telling the world the ride sucked it made me sick. That’s on me, not them. I rode The Simpson ride with no issues last fall.

  39. David M.

I wrote this ride with my daughter this January 20 22 and before we got on the rod somebody had obviously thrown up in an hour coaster and it was like 85° in the room and by the time I got off the ride I had vertigo so bad and spent the rest of the afternoon trying to sleep it off and never felt right again for the rest of our trip.

  40. Marsha

Oh My God!! Yes!!! I thought it was just bc we went during 2020 and we had to wear masks!! I had to go to the “mask break” area for a while after that ride bc I thought I was going to pass out!!! That was the only one that made me sick!!! Thanks for this article!

  41. Denise

How is getting motion sickness equated to being terrorized?

By the way, for those who don’t get it, one gets motion sickness from the movie shown not the movement of the car.

    1. Stimpco

To be more specific, we don’t have the tech to *perfectly* sync what you see and how the car moves, and our brains don’t like that.

  42. Crystal martin

If thy don’t like the ride then stay off of it bc some of us come every Oct an love all the rides an the Simpsons is 1 of our favorite rides

  43. Ryan Whitney

My boys loved it. Me on the other hand not so much. First ride we rode that day and I was a mess for the first half of the day. We followed it up with the back to the future ride and fortunately didn’t get spun around very much or i would have been toast for the he whole day! Lol. Anyways we love universal but you would never catch me on the Simpsons ride again. Looking forward to visiting the new park once it opens.

  44. Wendy

I thought it was a fun ride. My family loved it!!

  45. Jen

I can ride literally any roller coaster and feel fine afterwards. I might be terrified, but I feel fine. I could only manage to keep my eyes open through a few seconds of this ride, and I thought I might vomit or pass out. The graphics are terrible, I felt like I was having a seizure every second my eyes were open. It’s AWFUL.

  46. JOHN

You hate it cause it makes you ill.

I hate it because it sucks.

    We are not the same.

  47. Harvey

I was there in April and did this ride. I was so sick after as well. I never get motion sickness and this ride was terrible. I honestly felt like puking but legit felt like crap for the rest of the day. I lobe universal but that ride I will not do again.

  48. Phoebe L Ho

I rode the Simpsons ride once. And only once. It did nauseate me and that doesn’t usually happen.

I also rode Forbidden Journey, but I noticed some neck pain instead of nausea. Of course I had to keep my eyes closed most of the ride for reasons of my own that have nothing to do with motion sickness….. 😱

  49. Stimpco

Every. Motion. Simulator. Stop it theme parks, please build real rides.

  50. Heather

Okay the Simpson ride made me sick as crap too I don’t get sick on the planes for most things but the things that do tend to get me I avoid them once I know so instead of trying to be quick to shut something down and complain too much leave it the hell alone for the ones that want to still ride it and can handle it ride what you can handle and go on about your day
