What this guest described is *not* a rollback but more like the ride proactively preventing one. If it had been an actual rollback, it would have been launched like normal but fail to clear the top hat, then “rolled back” to the brake run. This instead sounds like the ride sensed it’s launch wouldn’t clear the top hat and preemptively applied the brakes in order to pick up the proper momentum.
I was on this ride and we went through the second acceleration. The coaster went up the rail, the front cars made it to the peak, we stopped, then rolled back. After being stopped, we were told the were going to back us up and try again “slingshot” was the term. Sure enough we went back around the last curve and accelerated and up and over. Occurred on March 20, 2022.
Same thing happened to me…right as we were about to hit the 2nd launch it braked…Sat for a few minutes, rolled back…announcement saying about to do a static launch then Voila …whoosh UT the hill.
This happened to us this week on Slinky Dog Dash at Disney & as we are stopped the other cart came flying down the hill. I didn’t think it was going to stop & we were bracing ourselves to get hit. It stopped just in time & then we relaunched through the “Go Go Go” area.
I was at King’s Dominion in Virginia, probably around the late ’80’s, and was on a ride that had a rollback. I can’t remember the name. “Superman” sounds familiar. It was a ride that excellerated real fast on a straightaway and then straight up and came back again. It didn’t quite make it on one occasion and rolled back to start again. I didn’t think anything of it. It just seemed common sense that it was because it didn’t get enough momentum at that time.

ITM Sucks At Reporting
Isn’t this like, the third time you’ve reported about this? The ride is DESIGNED to do that to recover itself. Working as intended.

Lol this was a waste of time reading is this really what articles have come to reporting nothing?
