People just haven’t got the money these vaule hotels are asking now to stay in, for the nemo suite it’s now gone to $604 a night, we were due to go there back in 2020 & 2021 at nemo before corvid hit, there is no way we pay the ridiculous prices Disney has slapped on , we won’t be back to Disney, for overseas holiday families it’s now costing double, by time you book flights, vaule hotel, park tickets, & the added extras like lightening lanes, etc it’s just not worth going, disney has now become a park for the rich & elite, families have no chance of going with the ridiculous price increases Walt Disney would be mortified in how this CEO is ruining Disney for ALL FAMILIES 😡😡😡

    1. Andrew

I agree, missed disney holiday in 2016 when transplant failed, received new kidney 2020 just in time for covid to lock everything now things are getting better looked to book disney again, prices are over double what they were last time, over £9k this time and no disney dining either so looking at over 10k if we go this year

      1. Bill Ganz

From WI been there 8 timesI & won’t be back unless they change their stance promoting LGBTQwhatever, nolonger a family destination

        1. Kathleen

They have been pro-LGBT for decades at the very least. In 1995 Disney paid spouse benefits ( health insurance Etc) to the life partners of their gay employees. (Easy to google) That policy didn’t seem to bother you when you visited all those other times.

        2. Dot

HAHAHA I WAS AT DISNEY FOR MY SPRING BREAK, I STAYED AT POP CENTURY

      2. C. Rowles

Think they build a false in demand system by limiting ‘reservations’ kind of like if only make 100 of something then it’s an all of a sudden a hot commodity that wouldn’t be if made it in normal numbers. Plus people just going nuts thinking have to do vacation and get everything because haven’t been because of Covid.

    2. Ron

Totally agree. It has gone into a place for those who have more money than they know what to do with or those who would rather go to Disney than buy food.

    3. Aletha Bright

If they are abandoned make them so people can rent them yearly. And reasonable pricing. Nothing disgusts me more than empty sitting buildings. Especially with people looking for places to live. Here in Maine it’s ridiculous.

    4. William

Resorts are at 98.9% capacity. ALL OF THEM.

There is nothing accurate about this article. Look at the parking lots in these pictures

  2. Went 19 years ago, family of 6. Live in Florida, quite reasonable then. The price is unbelieveable and we will never go again for many reasons due to current reported media reasons anyways. Will not even suggest to vacationers, nor snowbirds asking about local sights. Steer them completely away from Disney. Walt is rolling in his grave !

We visited in October 2021 and stayed offsite at Marriott using points from my credit card. We drove to EPCOT to park but didnt pay because we got there too early and we were told to exit the lot but we followed the person in front of us and parked in the employees section and waited until the park opened. We took a bus supplied by the hotel to Magic Kingdom. We used passes we bought 15 years ago that didn’t expire until used. WDW is way too expensive otherwise. We have 2 more days on our passes. If we go back, it won’t be until Disney has added rides. We used to love it there and visit almost every year. They have priced themselves out.

    2. Over crowded..overpriced..sea of baby carriages very stressful place..dont recommend..

    3. Joseph

The cars pool was just resurfaced and hasn’t opened yet so probably a good reason it looks empty… Although I was in there scuba diving this morning!!!

  3. I was at magic kingdom this week. The Contemporary and the Polynesian Hotels had loads of people. The pool area at the Polynesian I felt was too stressful. I never saw it like that. It was over that top. Not for me any longer. Not sure what happen to Disney . Such a change in such a short time

Seems your articles are always so slanted to appear to show how bad Disney is now. The heading of your article makes it sound like resorts are abandoned and not used when actually your article is about people leaving their hotel to go to the parks. So, isn’t that what people do? Can’t you find any real news, it’s the same over and over. HUGE CROWDS, LONG LINES….and it’s the same article about the same week. If you go during spring break or summer vacation or any other high time you will stand in line. It’s always been that way. If you want to go, research, if not don’t go. And stop slanting your articles just to dig for nasty comments.

    1. Kevinswms

I agree with you on this fact. WDW is a very magical and wonderful place to go to for all ages that has not changed. Prices go up always especially after a market meltdown and pandemic. Disney has implemented changes and new rides that all cost money. WDW is an expensive place to maintain. We should be thankful that there is still a happy place to go to like WDW especially with what is going on in the world today. Do the research, plan for the extra cost, go less, make it more special and make it affordable. It’s still my happy place 😁.

      1. Jane

        Magical? Seriously? Are you 10?

So if new rides cost money, how do you explain most of the price increases over the last twenty years where very little of note was added attraction-wise to the parks?

If you were to say Disney+ is losing them money (fact that they expect it to for at least the next three years) and they have to pull that money from someplace, I’d have a tiny bit of respect for this comment but with what you’ve said here, what is wrong with you – seriously?

        1. Mike

Seriously Jane, you’re on a site called “Inside the Magic” and you are ridiculing someone for using the term ‘Magical’ to describe their experiences? Are you 10 years old? Also, I’m not sure if you fell asleep in economics class but gas doesn’t cost the same as it did 20 years ago either. Nothing much has changed with that formula, so your logic doesn’t hold up well in the case of Disney where they have invested hundreds of millions (if not billions) on new attractions (Avatar, Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy), resorts (Star Wars, Riviera, ect), and transportation (Skyliner, Grand Floridian Walkway, ect). Think Avatar alone was $500M, can’t imagine why ticket prices have increased over the years. Sure, we would all be happy if they continue to push the limitations of the imagination at the same ticket prices. But that’s not how things work in real life.

      2. Mitch

We had reservations at Fort Wilderness for seven nights in October. Just canceled due to Disney’s corporate opinions. Have been to Disneyland and WDW for a combination of 19 years. Don’t plan on returning.

        1. NC

It is sad no average working family with more than 1 kid could ever experience Disney. I don’t care if it’s off season, night season day season. Last year I went was 2011. Spent almost 3k for a weekend. I can’t even imagine what it would be now. Truly sad.

      3. Travis Weberling

Kevinswns, There’s no argument from me about your statement about EXPENSIVE it is to maintain Disney, EPCOT & etc, HOWEVER, there is something to be said about the prices they’re asking for being ridiculously high for their on-site hotels, parking, the genie & lightning apps that seem like they’re more of a pain than what they’re worth & MOST IMPORTANTLY, we can’t forget about Chapek’s ” brilliant idea” to raise up food prices & at the same time LOWER portion sizes of their food at the parks while at the same time taking cheap shots at their customers by saying “it’ll improve their waistlines”. I mean, at some point it’s going to get to the point where “A Disney experience” meaning hotel stay for a weekend, park tickets, food & etc are going to cost as much as going to the Superbowl or World Series or The Kentucky Derby or something like that, & only the upper 1% that have that kind of $ to throw around can go.

    2. Linda

I got back from Orlando yesterday. I agree with you about how this has been reported, of course the hotels are going to look relatively empty during the day. We found it was easier and less time to stand in line for a ride and it took the same amount of time or even less time than the line you pay for! Hence we did not use the Disney genie at all. We stayed at the Caribbean beach resort and although a beautiful hotel it is not worthy of a moderate title. We have said next time it will be a smaller moderate resort like Port Orleans French quarter or a value resort. The use of the skyliner wasn’t enough to make us stay at CBB again.
Love Disney and will likely go again.
      It’s not just for kids, I’m 67!!

    3. Catherine C Black

I completely agree! I have been over 200 times, stayed at Contemporary, Port Orleans French Quartet, Animal Kingdom and The Grand Floridian. If you plan it out there are MANY affordable ways to do Disney. Off season and multi-day passes for a start! Live my mouse house!

    4. Julian h

The thing is it has gone downhill, it is extremely expensive more so than ever before and it is less value by far for your cash. The hoops Disney want you to jump through to have the holiday is also ridiculous. So that’s not a nasty comment it’s the truth and so many people are saying it We have loved Disney but not what it has become. Greedy money grabbing nasty Company. You can see this right or please open your eyes

  5. Etiggedge

The title of this article just sucks. Not informative same details about long lines and increased cost and bad service. We get it be prepared for some significant changes. But make it as magical as you can because life in general just isn’t.

  6. Tony Chaves

Disney thinks way too much of themselves , the experience quality has gone down , time has taken a toll on the facilities and rides , prices go up , restrictions and special instructions for attendance on top of the cost and then getting involved into woke politics when it’s own wokeness track record is well tarnished . Disney needs to be knocked down a notch or two and learn humility and gratitude . They have the market cornered on greed .

  7. Jan Miller

I’ve been to Disneyland last February, on a Thursday, and the park was PACKED. Almost 2 hours queue waiting for the Star Wars rides. 40 minutes for Snow White. I would imagine that’s NOTHING compared with any High-Season weekend!

  8. Sylvia

We went last summer and never again can’t get on alot of the rides need to use your phone for almost everything the fun of disney is all gone. The last time I went was in 2008 best time ever not no more

  9. Eileen

“And in 2020, Chairman of Parks, Experiences and Products Josh D’Amaro indicated that the newly implemented Park Pass system is a “new normal” that isn’t going away anytime soon, if ever, so Guests should get accustomed to utilizing the Disney Park Pass system if they are planning a trip to Walt Disney World.”

To Mr. D’Amaro: Your “new normal” is a gigantic pain in the butt, and your kind of hubris is what’s killing Disney.

  10. Virginia MARKEWYCH

Uncle Walt is twirling in his cryo tube!!!! He wanted an open feeling. You paid for the rides you went on & food was a picnic from home! So so sad to see the Cali location had gone down. Have no idea about Fla. But “planned & in a certain park”? Somebodys OCD BS MBA has gotten too big for their britches. Never gonna change? Prep your resume! As for fun…..visit some of the classic parks! Cheaper & closer to home! From a true Disney fanatic of 62 yrs going!

  11. Phenry

Ready to see Walt pedoworld go out of business. Whatever they were when I was a kid, that’s all gone now.

  12. Thomas Shelby

Amen! I said the same thing! What was once magical is now perverted greed

  13. Bill Ganz

From WI been there 8 timesI & won’t be back unless they change their stance promoting LGBTQwhatever, nolonger a family destination !!!

    1. William

So folks who aren’t hetero and have children aren’t a family?

      1. Lindsay

I believe they mean that PROMOTING LGBTQ is what isn’t family friendly. They shouldn’t be promoting any sexuality’s, not just homosexual ones.

  14. Mr Fab

    Jane
You obviously have not been to the parks lately…Very little of note? At WDW resort alone in the last ten years…..Magic Kingdom expanded Fantasyland adding two new rides, a cute show and a restaurant. They are currently constructing a new Tron themed coaster in Tomorrowland. EPCOT is being reimagined, rethemed Maelstrom to a Frozen themed ride..added a much needed ride to France pavilion and is contracting. Guardians of the Galaxy coaster and a Moana walkthrough attraction. Hollywood Studios added two new lands and Animal Kingdom added another land. Downtown Disney was reimagined as Disney Springs….and let’s not forget a new transportation system in the Skyliner. That’s a lot of “not much” as you say.

    1. Julian h

Mr Fab you also left out How much more it costs, how any hoops you have to make to get in the Parks to order food etc. You also failed to say how any things that were included in your trip at Disney are now not included and will cost you a lot more on top of an already overpriced and overrated holiday. Nothing like it was just 2 years ago.

  15. Dianna

All those resorts look busy lots of people and lots of cars

  16. Patrick Hackett

Boycott Disney and any Disney products Disney theme parks and Disney television

  17. Karen Linc

No need to get a reservation. They let many others in too.Woulnt want to turn down sall the money.what are greedy place. They have ruined the disney experience. We had been there about 13 times.Never again.Do not bother unless you want to spend a fortune for a disappointing timre.

  18. Jim

    Ruined this park

  19. Aletha Bright

If they are abandoned make them so people can rent them yearly. And reasonable pricing. Nothing disgusts me more than empty sitting buildings. Especially with people looking for places to live. Here in Maine it’s ridiculous.

    1. Hezakiah

Read the article then come back and comment

  20. N.Perry

This is a bunch of crazy Disney is fuller than ever those shots are old..From the close down two years ago..Disney is wag more expensive and to get on rides
Longer because of amount of people that have moved to florida..

    1. Hezakiah

It’s not from the shut down the parking lot is full of cars.

  21. Lou

Overcrowded with wait lines up to 3 hours. You can really only get rides done with the genie+. So real ticket prices are entry plus genie. Sad to see as we’ve been coming for many years from Australia. Disneyland is now just a money making rip off. We will not be back.
