I think this amazing and such a wonderful idea, my daughter struggles with my grandson on sensory, speech and behavioral issues which is very hard to take him anywhere to enjoy and have fun. This sounds like someplace that would be great to take him and hopefully we can one day. Thank you to all of you who have helped in some way for this to happen and I am excited to one day visit with my grandson ☺️
My husband has ALS and My son has hearing loss. I would love to visit a park like this! Please make sure you have plenty of electric scooters that can be made by appointment. Disney is first come , first serve and plenty really don’t need them, but just enjoy the benefit of not walking around the parks. Leaving people who really need them to just a flimsy manual wheelchair that we have to push all day.
I’m sorry you believe scooters are being used by people who don’t need them. Especially since this article is about an inclusive park.
You never know someone’s disability.
People that don’t need them so use them. I have seen/heard people talk about using them to be able to go up the exits on some rides. It’s a sad and disgraceful thing… and I hope that they end up getting in trouble when they do that.
This park? Sounds amazing and I would love for one to be built out here.
This article made my eyes tear up with joy. I have two grandchildren that have special needs and a place like this would be so much fun for them. I hope they also bring one closer to the East Coast as that is a long way to travel from VA.
Way to go Target and everyone involved.
That’s a wonderful idea , my little girl has an ASD , and I think actually there is no theme parks that have solutions for the especial needs this special kids, or any age people that has it .
As someone with a mental disability, how can you ‘prove’ you have a disability to get free admission? Do I need to bring a signed note from my psychologist saying I have autism to enter? Or is it just for people with physically visible disabilities who get the benefits? It’s a good idea, but it seems like it would be hard to enforce in practice.
Good idea as I have a daughter with Down syndrome and yes we live right by Disney but anymore disney is not the same plus peole take advantage you don’t need proof and you don’t even need proof if you bring a dog that it’s a service dog. Now sea world does have a autism center and not just for kids with autism. So many people take advantage for being disabled that are not just to get into place or in fro t of lines. It make me mad bc im sure someone who is disabled doesn’t want to be and someone who isn’t wants to be bc they think they would be treated differently. Well trust me. You are not given a pass on anything. So yes this is a good idea if only can could enforce it. Without making people upset
What! Really! So people without disabilities are allowed to bring their dogs to Disney? Or any Six flags? What the heck have I been paying for a dog sitter when I go on vacation for than?
It sounds like a great idea for most disabilities. My husband is a combat veteran with PTSD, and one of his triggers (as many veterans) is large condensed crowds, so obviously Disney is a never go. I wonder how this park plans to ease that, if that’s even a possibility.

Agree! Invisible disabilities are real.

I really hope they have an aquarium more than anything and maybe a small zoo of some sort of nothing but a petting zoo.

They haven’t allowed wheelchair access to get on the rides for years. No one is cheating you.

It’s not “Target”, as in the business… it’s “target” as in a “target audience” (certain group of people).
Melissa
I think this a wonderful idea, aside from those with special needs, so many families cannot afford a trip to Disney.
Thomas
This sounds like a good idea.

Missouri? Free? Low cost for others? You know what that means. ( even if they won’t say it).
Kieth Kayman
Was my first thought Charles, let’s hope it doesn’t get trashed.

Likely the disabled person will get free admission, the family of the disabled person will have to pay regular theme park price.

If U don’t like it go to Disney. But don’t bash it before u know the facts.

You don’t have to have proof to take a service dog ANYWHERE in the U.S.

Just an FYI, Walt Disney never said “if you can dream it, you can build/do it.”
That phrase was coined by imagineer Tom Fitzgerald.
Linda Marie Gonzalez
My daughter who has autism when benefit more if Disney changed their disability pass back to the way it used to be.
Shambhavi Sisodia
The blueprint of the new theme park looks impressive. I just hope that the park comes with fun arrangements for all ages, including the disabled.
