I don’t car what he did or didn’t do, honestly, he’s a great actor and the whole point of entertainment is the suspension of disbelief and losing yourself in the story. I think loosing Johnny from the p.o.t.c. is a stupid move on Disney’s part. He should never of been blacklisted from Hollywood. So I feel amber should get the same treatment and not be allowed to play Mera until all is said and done. Johnny’s caracter, Jack Sparrow, is the foundation that PoTC is built on. Without him the entire franchise is lost. Disney has a way of destroying themselves by their own hand. Just look at what they’re doing right now in Florida. They would rather die by their own sword than to admit they’ve compromised their morals when it comes to their largest fan base, children. Since they’ve treated JD so poorly, all Disney has been eliminated from our home and although we are still huge HP fans, we will not be going to see the new Fantastic Beast movie. Both companies are a disgrace.
We need to look a bit deeper into the accusations against JD, not as Cap’n Jack or Gridenwald or any other personality JD has portrayed, and done so at a superior pace. We need to center in on Johnnie as a person M a man denigrated and abused by a woman he was so in love with. Abuse on any person or animal is a serious thing. Johnny has been slapped about from both side, apparently, by his soul mate. One he clearly gave his heart and soul to. He is seemingly, having a bit more than a hiccup climbing up out of the chasm he was pushed into by this female person. Any addiction is a really bad thing to be trying to recoup self, power, esteem, health, physically and mentally. I know we all wish JD well and pray for a speedy close to the subjective of Heard spewing acid to him as it has been proven by word and history that this female is capable of great harm to Johnny. He has been hit on all sides by this case of his honor and his once impeccable reputation as a fine generous man.

Anyone suffering from addiction needs a medical and therapeutic team to help them get and remain sober. Sobriety is not done alone. Detoxing at times can be life threatening, not to mention what the substances do to one’s body. A majority of addicts are addicts due to self medication for depression, mania, trauma, ect. They do not get sober overnight and do not remain sober by themselves.

Wow, I’m a female raised in an abusive home by “Mom” and I have been following the testimony of his own childhood from his sister. I completely understand now why he is the way he is and there’s a term that used for people defending themselves and one for the person instigating. Heard was probably always the AGGRESSOR and a person has every right to defend themselves and their body! But don’t misunderstand what I’m saying, no person has the right to put their hands on anyone unless you’re defending your body or your children. I have been a fan of johnny Depp since he was in 21 jump street. I have seen all of his movies. My absolute favorite was Captain Jack Sparrow. Johnny loved his character and I loved the Character. You could tell that Captain Jack was loved by Children from around the world. It’s not just children it’s adults to. Johnny brought Captain Jack to life. I know in my heart that Jack is very sad about no longer playing his character and his heart is very broken. I think that no matter who you get to play Captain Jack Sparrow they will never be as good as Johnny was. What I hope is that this new pirate movie will sink. I also think that there will not be a lot of people who even come to see it. If anything I hope that Disney realizes that they made a huge mistake by letting Johnny go. My last thought is Disney has destroyed it’s reputation!!! I was really happy that so many people signed that petition to bring Johnny back. After seeing Aquaman, the acting was nothing to write home about…and I like Momoa, its the script that was blah, CG was overkill and quite frankly I was bored 1/3 into a movie i really wanted to see. Ms. Heard was insignificant in Aqua 1. Keep Jason but recast the her character please. This has nothing to do w/JDepp bc I agree w/him, it’s time he moves on from Disney.
BTW, since I’m a neighbor of one (of several) properties he calls home. I can tell you his kids are grown and a few yrs ago while the youngest was still a minor Mr. D was seen around our hidden CA town with kids happily in tow to the local library of all places, in this day of Amazon. He doesn’t even need to leave his compound but thought it was important for the kids sake b4 places like libraries dissappear.

I have been following the trial. One piece of info that no one in the comments has mentioned is that Depp was hurt on the set of one of the Pirates movies. Thus the prescription for the Roxy’s. He got addicted to them. The problem is that he was in a toxic relationship trying to make it work. He was used by Amber and her friends. Free rent and everything else. Must be real tough because you are not sure if people like you or everything else that comes with you. I find it hard to believe that people in the film industry didn’t know what was going on or not. Amber’s career is definitely over, Depp will survive this no matter what.

If you look at court cases in America. No one is innocent until proven guilty. It is guilty until you prove to a jury you are innocent. Gonna miss Cap’n Jack. No more of those movies for me. Such a sad deal. We can only hope Johnny makes other iconic movies.

I am not in the least surprised that Disney fired him, it’s what Disney does best. If half of America knew what kind of business practice Disney uses they would boycott them forever. Believe me when I say Disney is not the happiest place on earth. Without Johnny Depp there is no Jack Sparrow, he made that role. It’s sad that he really wants nothing to do with that now as long as his role from before still has impact but he needs to take back his health and be with his family, the people who’ve been supporting him.

Pirates of the Caribbean film series is dead and has been for awhile now so it didn’t matter if he were to return. Johnny needs to work on his issues And put amber heard behind him.
I firmly believe both of them were in the wrong. However, it is unfair IMO to only blacklist Johnny Depp. I am saddened that this abuse has happened to either party, but there is a lesson in there for both of them, should they choose to learn it. I just wish that the producers in both Aquaman II and the last Grindelwald movie would have thought of a better way to handle the actors and the characters they play. I’m not going to enjoy either movie near as much, Grindelwald, because there’s no Johnny and Aquaman, because Heard has lied to the public and doesn’t really deserve the role IMO.
I enjoy watching them both, but as a matter of principle, I will not be spending money to see any movie Johnny was supposed to be in, but lost because of Amber’s exaggerated accusations. Likewise, I will not be spending money to see Aquaman (which was a hard decision because I love JM), because Amber gets to keep her job despite her being abusive to Johnny and mocking the fact that no one will care she abused him b/c he’s a man. Johnny’s caracter, Jack Sparrow, is the foundation that PoTC is built on. Without him the entire franchise is lost. Disney has a way of destroying themselves by their own hand. We need to look a bit deeper into the accusations against JD, not as Cap’n Jack or Gridenwald or any other personality JD has portrayed, and done so at a superior pace. I have been following the trial. One piece of info that no one in the comments has mentioned is that Depp was hurt on the set of one of the Pirates movies. Thus the prescription for the Roxy’s. He got addicted to them. The problem is that he was in a toxic relationship trying to make it work. He was used by Amber and her friends. Free rent and everything else. Must be real tough because you are not sure if people like you or everything else that comes with you. I find it hard to believe that people in the film industry didn’t know what was going on or not. I firmly believe both of them were in the wrong. However, it is unfair IMO to only blacklist Johnny Depp. I am saddened that this abuse has happened to either party, but there is a lesson in there for both of them, should they choose to learn it. I just wish that the producers in both Aquaman II and the last Grindelwald movie would have thought of a better way to handle the actors and the characters they play. I’m not going to enjoy either movie near as much, Grindelwald, because there’s no Johnny and Aquaman, because Heard has lied to the public and doesn’t really deserve the role IMO.

I will feel bad for Jason Momoa if Aquaman 2 tanks (no pun intended), but that will be all on Warner Brothers for ignoring amber heard’s bad behavior offscreen and letting her keep her role while Johnny Depp didn’t get the same consideration with Fantastic Beasts… and now, Warner Brothers has a much bigger problem on their hands with Fantastic Beasts with regards to Ezra Miller, which just goes to show how stupid the whole situation is; Warner Brothers keeps on the actual physically violent people, but cans the one who is falsely accused of being such?
And then Disney doesn’t even have the balls to tell Johnny Depp to his face that they want him out as Captain Jack, but they continue to make money off the character. I stand with Johnny Depp regarding not playing Jack Sparrow ever again. Depp was loyal to Disney when he made PotC, and all the sequals in spite of some of them being sub par. Because Depp cared about the character he created, and because he thought that Disney in return would be loyal and stand by him. My current job has conditioned me to have the ability to judge ones character. Tuning into the trial it did not take long to see that ms. Heard has no emotion and her one and only goal is getting her jollys by destroying another man’s career. Just looking into those dark eyes that just stare into nothing. Mr. Depp has been broken down. He has, is and will continue to be a great man. He has brought light, joy and laughter into kids who struggle with life threatening issues. He is one of a few, and not just actors that go above and beyond. Not just on camera but off as well. I was there when Bob Iger presented his Legends award.
