  1. I have experienced the not so perfect Disney vacation. It is extremely unfortunate considering the money spent, and Disney promoting perfection and a magical vacation. Disney is not investing in attraction or hotel maintainance. They only seem to be interested in throwing up DVC towers for the 1%.

We are here now and our first room at Jambo still had food, milk, ice cream etc left in the refrigerator. We thought maybe someone was staying in that room. That actually happened to us about 6 or 7 years ago at Boardwalk. We walk into the room. The TV in the bedroom was on , suitcases, clothes and food everywhere. Luckily nobody was in the room at the time but it was occupied. We called front desk from the room to say, Hey, what’s up with this and get us another room! But this trip the 2nd room we are in now at Jambo has a nasty ring around the tub and shower curtain. We expect more, after all Disney costs alot of money! So Ashley, you are not expecting too much.

We’re still at Jambo through the end of the week! It sounds like they’re really struggling. Did management do anything for you?

We stayed at Jambo last week for 7 days. As a family of four, our tiny room needed service. After two days of no service to our room, my husband went to request service as our garbage was overflowing, sheets needed to be changed, and we needed toilet paper and clean towels. House keeping again did not come back until my husband went and talked to the front desk. We started putting our garbage in the hall along w/ our towels because someone would actually pick it up. This was our first experience at Disney World. With the amount of money that we paid, we expected more. But it truly seemed as if no one really cared. Additionally, the lack of food options was disappointing as well. To be stuck at a resort w/ only cafeteria food, an overpriced buffet or a restaurant that has no open dinner reservations for a family of four is difficult. We did try Uber eats only to have them cancel our order. So bring food w/ you or eat before returning to Jambo house.

Sometimes when a room is put on ‘closed floor’, without the appropriate notes on the guests’ reservation, housekeeping does not clean it because they wait for maintenance to make repairs. This was most probably the case, but you really should have gone straight back to the front desk and asked for a different room. Never wait, as the following day they could be sold out. With any hotel there will be problems, and the fact that Disney is always near capacity means that they do service most of the rooms well. The biggest problem at the resorts is that previous guests fail to report a problem. So, if you ever walk into a dirty or stinky room, call or go directly to the front desk and report it. They will then endeavor to make your experience magical.

    1. Also, keep in mind if staying on DVC points, housekeeping does not clean or make beds day and towels are also not supplied daily.

For the amount of money that Disney charges just to stay on property, I expect near perfection. This situation is unacceptable. Disney is definitely not bringing “the magic” any more. Shame on you Disney world.
