Ughh, I am one of those people anxiously awaiting the return of the dining plan because we love it and it takes all the stress out of eating, but you are probably right. With the way they are nickel and diming everything it certainly would not surprise me.

As my family looks ahead to a WDW visit in December and the potential of the DDP returning, we added 10% to the cost of the 2020 plan for budgeting purposes, assuming the plan’s price goes up. If and when it is offered again, we will look at the price and see if we were in the ballpark pricewise before adding to existing resort reservation.

Disney is slowly losing its magic… Price hikes, smaller portions, magical express has disappeared(which was the magical start of the Disney experience)….. No free magic bands, no fast pass, customer service going down hill 🤬🤬🤬 still paying a lot for the Disney experience with none of the magic COME ON DISNEY sort it out…… Universal looking more and attractive

Of course it’ll be more expensive. The weekly grocery bill has gone up at least 15%, so food at Disney would be increasing by at least that too. Disney isn’t in the business of losing money. =D

I live in the UK and we are hoping the Dining Plan will return as it is the deciding factor when booking. We brits come for 2 weeks on average and for the average family we can only afford a trip every 2 or 3 years. So the Dining Plan is the one thing we all hope will come back as it makes the trip just about affordable, if not staying off park is an option but not our first choice.

I see it returning with a price hike in line with the food price hikes, but not until all the character dining locations reopen. I could also see them cutting a snack credit from the plan with a smaller increase.
