You’re absolutely right. I don’t have to assume when I can easily tell when someone is a man or a woman and call them him or her. All of this they/they/it/thing garbage just gets in the way.
It is optional because it’s an opinion, not a fact. I don’t have to accept anything I don’t believe. This isn’t the land of only one type of person gets rights and the other doesn’t. Live how you want, absolutely. But don’t force others into your beliefs. It’s no different than religion.
It is absolutely optional. Just because someone thinks something is true doesn’t make it so. The faster you figure that out the easier the rest of your life will be going forward.
Well if you don’t respect someone’s pronouns, then that classifies you as disrespecting that person! Which means it will be handled like you disrespecting anyone else! So if you want problems, keep disrespecting people! Now you have that right to disrespect someone, but that person has the right to respond in a disrespectful way back! Which could be as simple as a verbal disagreement or as serious as a physical altercation
Those changing pronouns are totally DISRESPECTING God. If you say there is no God, then you are disrespecting Him. Just because you believe it doesn’t make it true.
No one has a right to respect or to not be offended. There are a ton of different thinking people in the world. Going through life believing that your mentality on a subject should be the same for everyone else is going to cause YOU a ton of trouble later on.

I think the biggest problem with all this “pro noun” media hoopla is that we’re making it way more of a “big deal” than it has to be, and in turn, working ourselves up into actual unnecessary anger and animosity. I couldn’t care less what her pronouns, or ANYONE’S pronouns are. If I “miss pronoun” you and you correct me, I’d rather be a mature adult, be polite to your wishes and move on. I refuse to get my a$$ in a bunch and start a riot over it. We come across all types and walks of life on a daily basis.. always has been that way. If you work with people, this will be nothing new to you. Different backgrounds, cultures, traditions, even disabilities that make us who we are. Lead with kindness and be the example no matter what.
And this is Disney news how? Who cares what she does with her life. I’m tired of all this “I associate as this” or “I associate as that”. I’m going to walk into Disney and tell them I associate as Bob Chapek and I’ll be running things from now on. Ridiculous. You can’t just change your genetics on a cellular level just cause you think or feel a certain way each day.
all these comments are so rude. if you don’t agree with their decision then you don’t have to acknowledge her. it’s not that hard. i hope none of you have children who identify as anything other than their assigned gender.
As opposed for myself it took 159 pages and three years of peer-reviewed work in order to pass from an opinion to a scientifically proven fact.
Even then someone can come along and achieve a different result from my research.
Now we just have multiple opinions although entertaining are totally useless. This would be okay till those opinions are voiced by people who are convincing people to act dangerously against their interest in order to push an agenda and make money.
stating the obvious is not rude its the truth. my son (gender assigned by God) once thought he was a lion or a dinosaur and wanted to identify as such. he was told the truth that he was a male human since he was born. i did not give him a choice and he has been mentally stable since.
I don’t have children like that. Because they weren’t groomed all their life to believe it’s true. Statistically, more liberal minded families have transgender children than conservative. Just as statistically, more children in conservative households are religious than in liberal households. Both situations have to do with upbringing. Both are a belief, not a fact. In both cases, parents should leave their own views out and see what happens. Mine are neither transgender, nor religious. Interesting how that works….
That usually only happens when the parents are themselves screwed up . Its very rare that well balanced straight parents who provide a stable upbringing don’t have a child with Gender dysphoria .
Its people like Will and Jada Smith and Megan Fox who end up with sexually confused children .

Unless she has some sort of multi-personality disorder how can her pronouns be “they/their” . Did no one ever teach her about singular and pleural terms at any point during her education ?
Comments for Demi Lovato Officially Updates Her Pronouns
TimWar he/him/Batman
In Demi’s honor, my pronouns are now He/Him/Batman.
Kyle
And I LOVE IT 👏👏🦇🦇🦇
Could care less
I don’t care.

She’s a chick, therefore her pronouns already included she/her. Kinda stupid to think those didn’t apply in the first place.

Pronouns are whatever someone says they are, not what you assume them to be.

Maybe so, but as much as you want to think otherwsie there are still only two biological sexes, Darby.
Mufasa
They are what God intended them to be, not the person in the bag of bones. I know it’s a tough one to swallow, but God didn’t make a mistake.
Darby
Pronouns are not “preferred,” they simply are and are to be respected. It’s not optional.

And if I DON’T respect it, that, too, is to be honored, tolerated and respected.
Or, as we put it, “Deal with it.”

See how easily something can cut both ways?
Mufasa
It’s not optional?? You are correct. God made each of us the gender He wanted us to be, so it’s not optional to change that.

Well, it’s nice to see someone managing their mental health issues enough not to refer to themselves in the plural anymore.
Jazzy
you just referred to a hypothetical singular person using a plural.

There is nothing in the article about changing genetics on a cellular level. But nice rant.
Arod
Hahahaha.. i needed a laugh this am and after reading this, stupid is stupid- even when you want attention!
Joem
It is funny that you referred to an individual as “them” while you were trying to say that using plural pronouns for a person is garbage.

How are they’re comments rude?! They’re just stating what they’re Opinions are. 🙄

Gender is assigned by biology not a deity . However , the end result is still the same as there are only two genders .

She is a she, or a her.

Funny, but my pronouns are still the ones I learned in grade school. Have they changed?
david
Nope, only for the confused that are wandering amongst us. Lord give me the strength to deal with all of their daily changes. LOL
Mufasa
Ooh, I know [raising my hand]: Her/she, just like God made her. After all, He doesn’t make a mistake.

I think the fact there is an LBGTQ community is absolute proof that God makes mistakes 😛 😉
