I was thinking the same exact thing. I mean as a mom of two I know kids can dip off in seconds but no way he wouldn’t have been spotted before getting over those vines/roots let alone to the top without anyone seeing him.
dam that guy climbed up like it was nothin. wouldnt it of made more sense and be safer to climb up and down the dry part to get him? Either this is the parent or guardians fault. And Nothing probably happened to the kid or family bc there more then likely wealthy and disney only cares about rich people now….
This is really about teaching your kids to respect boundries, Others property, keeping hands to themselves etc. The lack of respect is astounding. Jumping off rides, dragging their feet in the water on rides like Pirates, Splash mountain, Thunder mountain all dangerous behaviors . Wish Disney would block cell service while inside the parks. People spend thousands of $$ & spend entire time on phones, those that put phones away are impede by people screwing around on their phones.
I get what you mean but I don’t think blocking service is a good idea. What if there’s a couple parties. Both heads of the parties can communicate by phone. What if someone lost a child? Texting someone meet me at the Mickey statue by so and so could be more helpful than just running around blind, calling a name and hoping they hear you. What if an emergency happens? Sometimes seconds can matter.
why didnt the “rescuer” climb up then down the dry part?? that would be the safest/smartest way…must of been a pretty girl and trying to show off and be a hero… lmao Lucky he didnt fall with or without the kid. smh
that kid and his negligent parents should be taught a lesson. tan there hides and ask them to leave the expensive resort. lmao If you got the money to stay there more then likely you better off then most financially, so i would guess the little bastard comes from privilege!! As it seems disney lets rich jag-offs like those horrible f-ing kardasins get away with alot of BS….shame!!
Every single time I’ve been to WDW, at least once a day I’ve seen some kid come within an inch of falling and breaking their neck because their parents couldn’t be bothered to stop them climbing on everything in sight. If your kid just wants to climb and jump off things, save yourself a couple thousand dollars and take them to the playground. At least the ground there isn’t covered in hard concrete.
First of all, this isn’t “negligent parenting” the comments section needs to chill. God forbid you let your kid out of your sight for two minutes at Disney Springs. This could have happened to any parent.
Secondly, I would probably have done this as a kid too. Kids love climbing things, and that entire structure is just begging to be climbed. It literally has stairs
It’s not negligent to let your kids out of your sight for two minutes in a place packed with people like a Disney park?! I really hope you don’t have any kids. Probably wouldn’t have them long if you did with that mindset.
When we stayed there last year the very same thing happened, so I am guessing this is a more common occurrence than people think. The kid was maybe 7 or 8, so old enough to know better and yet up for the challenge. Both the lifeguard and parent noticed at about the same time and responded accordingly. Part of the issue is that the lower steps are easy to get to and sit on and that is seemingly allowed. While the barrier presents as substantial in pictures, it really isn’t and it makes the whole idea more tempting. Disney has some culpability on this one for design safety flaws. i am a huge proponent of put your phone away and watch your kid, but this needs a design fix.
My first impression was that this child might very well be autistic. This is something an autistic child would do without giving it a second thought; and people who do not have autistic children really have no understanding of what parents go through in keeping their child safe. It’s a very difficult job.
As an ASD parent I was thinking the same thing! And parents frequently zone out when they’re on vacation and it’s no fun to stay super vigilant the whole time. As a parent you must but I’ve watched kids in dangerous situations at Disney forever because their parents wouldn’t spring for a babysitter or a nanny on vacation. Somebody has to be on kid duty 24/7, unfortunately!
The child didn’t know better?! Hahaha! He wasn’t a toddler. Parents are pathetic now days… not all, but so many. Watch your kids, and teach them to respect others and their property. They should be banned.

How did the parent not see him before he got to the top? 🤷♀️

That’s the first thing I thought of. Given how high it is it should’ve been noticed he was missing before reaching.it.

Exactly. I’m a mom of two teens. You better believe in a pool especially when that young. My eyes were peeled at all times.
Rich little bastard

I’ve just got 2 words for this kids parents if this is your idea of parenting? Birth control!
Carol
Just another case of poor parenting ~ I’ll be a bazillion dollars the parent was occupied with a cell phone. What a shame.

Exactly. Disney is a resort for kids. Erect a barrier.
KV
I didn’t know kids could book a resort and pay for it 😂

And if the kid had gotten hurt would the “parents” sue WDW?? Wow they need to be removed and banned.

The kid was imitating vloggers that climbs the stairs to capture their adventure! Disney needs to band vloggers from the resorts and parks!
Mom who knows better
