First it’s real hard to replace Chad man Bostwick as the black panther with night hawk if night hawk is like Batman Batman had no super powers so I think it’s a mistake should put somebody in there that has actual superhero powers not fancy gadgets and money

    1. Msmissybosa

Your comment makes no sense. Black panther has no super powers either. He’s got a fancy, powerful suit and gadgets…just like Batman 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️

      1. Pere

Obviously you don’t know anything about the black panther. He had super human strength and speed, more so than captain America

        1. Scott

On par with captain America* at least in speed. But probably less strength as cap in the MCU is based on ultimates cap which has strength akin to Spider-Man.

      2. Hawg1964fan1964

Obviously, you missed the part where he eats a magical herb that gives him super Human strength, speed/agility. Also, he has “BEATEN” Capt. America in a one on one fight.

        1. Aj Wiley

He didnt beat Cap, they came to a draw

    2. JoshM

None of your comments make any sense and neither does this story. “Marvel’s very own Batman”? Batman is from DC comics not Marvel.

      1. Eric

Josh and mss you don’t know what you’re talking about. Black panther has powers also we know Batman is a dc character you flaming moron. They compared the 2. Havnt you been compared to a rock before?

        1. Lincoln

          🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

        2. AjAAj Wiley

          Maybe you have

      2. Donitello

Right. So there’s nobody that could replace the Black Panther he’s trains different, and thinks different. The man could even fight without a suit.

      3. Richard

Actually replacing Tchalla black panther with shuri version of black panther makes sense seeing as in the comic books she does become black panther after tchalla death at the hands of an evil group of Atlantis villains lead by tiger shark but they at first blame namor for the attack because tiger shark Is one of his generals and also they seem to in mcu be forming the young avengers which shuri is a part of

        1. Q

If they had introduced or hinted Namor. That story with Shuri would’ve made sense and flow easily.

      4. M

I’m more bothered how these comments look like broken English bots.

        1. Séamus Byrnes

I am more disturbed by the fact that people can’t seem to understand that they are arguing and insulting one another over fictional characters.

    3. Kat

Have you heard of Iron Man? lol.

      1. Mark

Right? I thought Iron Man was Marvel’s Batman.

        1. Scott

Eh not really. All they have in common is the fact they are both rich and normal humans. Actually marvel usually pairs batman with captain America or moon knight. Iron man isn’t really like batman at all. He isn’t a master martial artist, peak human athleticism and his moral code is much grayer.

    4. Tyler

What does Boseman dying have to do with Tchalla, especially in the comic? Y’all mofos just going to far with this BS that an actor now can’t be replaced. Tchalla didn’t die, so why does he need to be killed off? He’s an iconic character period. With a rich history that needs to be explored in film . As for the comics any suggesting he needs to also be removed due to Boseman passing is suspect and something else is going on.

      1. Bridge

They’re making a big mistake Leave Black Panther where it’s at ….. And stop changing things .

      2. David J Rodolff

They’ll take any opportunity they can these days to replace a iconic male character with a female one.
They’ll probably put Shuri in charge of Wakanda.

    5. KB2

You Dropped the ball with that comment there matty.

    6. I WOULD LEAVE A COMMENT BUT I’M NOT GOING TO YOU PEOPLE DON’T WENT FROM TALKING ABOUT THE CHARACTER IN THE MOVIE THE RACISM WHY DON’T YOU JUST STICK TO THE TOP AND QUIT THE BS IN ON HERE

    7. Marshan

Thts wht I’m saying he was a great actor and a role model fa my ppl

  2. Cherie

I think it’s absolutely RIDICULOUS that the one prominent Black superhero character is being removed from the group. But what else is new on White America! Wakanda Forever!!

    1. drew who

You obviously don’t realize the Avengers comic has never had a stable line up of superheroes . White characters are replaced all the time but I don’t see you having a problem with that . Its only when a black character is replaced you have an issue and that is what makes you a racist .

Also a lot is new in America these days if you hadn’t noticed black people are getting more opportunities than ever before . I guess it will never be enough for someone like you who will only be happy when black people get preferential treatment .

      1. Pere

Because there is only one black hero in the avengers series idiot, the only one and that’s who they replaced. White privilege as usual

        1. RiGo

Warmachine and Black Falcon a.k.a. Captain America don’t count?
Also they’re replacing a black character with ANOTHER black character. The current version of Nighthawk is a Rich Black guy in a costume running around killing white supremacists.

        2. drewwho

You obviously don’t watch the films because Black Panther is not the only black superhero . There is also War Machine and the Falcon . In the comics Nighthawk is a black superhero at the moment . Before you start bleating on about white privilege maybe you should check you facts in future . lol

      2. anthony

Hey lets not get into race this about comics not real people,me im a captain america guy not batman, wolverine or spiderman.Just an american i dont agree with replacing male characters with females, just to make money(thor) marvel is known for selling out its characters like they are afraid of DC yes black people are getting opportunities but cant cash in so everything is not equal, but arguing is not the answer.Change your politicians and change the world, comics are cool but they are not the real world, there is rascism deal with it and move on .This is about destroying Lee and Kirbys creations the xmen are now xweman stop trying to kill steve rogers and let thor beat superman

        1. Laura

Absolutely. Why are the male characters being replaced with women. Add new female characters and leave the male ones alone.

        2. drewwho

This article is about race . Do you think it would have been written if a white Avenger left the team ?

        3. TAB

          Very well said!

      3. James

        Reparations for the Freedmen.

      4. Grendel

        Drew…. Well said 👍👍

      5. Hawgfan1964

It must be nice to believe that replacing the “ONLY” Black character with a White character is the same as replacing a White character when the roster is “ALMOST ENTIRELY WHITE”.

      6. BB

Ok in case didn’t notice in the first move at the beginning Bozeman was not the Black Panther his father was and during his initiation during his sleep he saw other past people who were also Black Panthers and proof that he was not a single person but many look at Superman, Hulk, Human Torch and many other characters played by more than one actor. Bozeman did a great job with the role but the movie was not about him but the character he portrayed

      7. aaronstone187@outlook.com

T that s*** is lame come on with the b******* you know you know that he was the only black character in the whole damn avengers and at the same time very respect like I guess Spider-Man or somebody like a multiverse Spider-Man Morales you know .what I’m talking

      8. KB2

Correction not *a black character more like THE black character. I don’t really care personally but He’s not a racist for being upset that the only black character on the team has now taken out and replaced with another white character which is what the whole squad has mostly been filled up with throughout its history. Took Marvel 18 films to finally give a movie lead to someone who wasn’t white. People aren’t racist for feeling some kind of way about those kind of things

    2. RobinD

      Hi Cherie,

I know you might receive ignorant comments that shows how much work there still is to be done in this world. It mostly begins with kindness and not thinking so much of yourself. Replacing one white superhero character with another white character or even just another non-black character is not the same as removing a prominent Black superhero with no replacement. There are already many prominent White superheros. The individuals that don’t understand that may not understand much of the world around them. Have a beautiful day!

      1. drew who

The biggest issue is Marvel doesn’t have as many compelling none white Superheroes as they do white ones . I think they should endeavor to create some more . That means they should create new original characters from the ground up rather than simply having ethnically diverse variations of established superheroes like the Asian Hulk or the Miles Morales Spider-Man .

The problem is though that writers and artists are no longer willing to offer their best ideas to Marvel _and DC ) because the companies own their creations and that means they see very little of the profits that such creations might accumulate over the years . People like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko lived their lives struggling to make a living while their creations earned billions .

Marvel does need more diversity but it needs to be coupled with a new emphasis on creativity and fairer creative rights .

        1. Scott

Uhhh…YOU don’t think they are prominent but there are several prominent minorities that aren’t just “variants”. Both heroes and villains.

Apocalypse, falcon, black panther, storm, Luke cage, mandarin, shang-chi, Ms marvel, etc.

You should be getting on DC for diversity. They have TWO justice league guys that are minorities and the Green Lantern one is just a variant and rarely used so it is only cyborg.

          1. Scott

Also, the writers struggled to make a living because comics are not a profitable medium. Marvel had threatened to go under for 40 years until Disney bought them. DC was saved purely because WB bought them early on.

Stan Lee was destitute while he ran marvel and could control how profits were divvied.

          2. drewwho

I never said that I said there are not any compelling characters of color there just are not many . The only ones I can think of that are original creations not based on an existing hero are Storm , Luke Cage , Falcon , Slade , Shang Chi ( maybe ) , War-Machine and Bishop Those mostly created in the 1960’s and 1970’s . Bishop and War Machine in the 1980’s I think . That is about it for major POC characters at Marvel .

Ms Marvel Kamila Kahn is a spin off character of a spin off character .

As for DC there have been multiple Green Lantern’s of various races but again these are spin offs of established white characters . Of course they have Cyborg , Static , Black Lightening and Steel as well But I am hard pushed to think of many other major ones that are not based on an established hero . Even Steel is kind of a spin off from Superman who appeared during the Death of Superman period .

If you compare that with all the major white superheroes we have from Marvel and DC you can see there is a need for more original POC ones . Hell there is a need for more white original ones too . Both Marvel and DC have stagnated and are creatively redundant these days .

        2. TAB

          Truth!

      2. Pere

White people are obviously oblivious when it come to race issues, real race issues because of privilege so they will never understand the significance of this action.

        1. drewwho

As a person of color Pere if you live in the USA you now have preferred status . The opportunities are now not only there for your taking they are much easier for you to achieve because of your race . These are the days of none white privilege so stop complaining about the past and go out and take advantage of it .

    3. AudiMurphy

Based on these comments it’s not White America, it’s Stupid America. Nighthawk is black, they are replacing a black character with another black character in order to both support the big story the Black Panther solo series writers are putting together while using the popularity of the Avengers to promote a lesser known black character. Maybe you guys should read a comic or two before commenting on how racist they are.

    4. RayGunz

In case y’all didn’t know, black characters in any media have been under-represented or stereotyped in a negative way. Then, as our culture gained popularity, often our characters were just killed off. We finally get decent representation in a comic, thanks to Stan Lee, that led to a billion-dollar movie and Disney can’t wait to disregard that success, that they did not anticipate, by “trying” to celebrate a great performance by never giving another black actor the opportunity to play him again. It feels as if they would rather see Black Panther die than be a beacon of black excellence to live on forever. #recasttchalla #savetchalla

  3. Msmissybosa

Your comment makes no sense. Black panther has no super powers either. He’s got a fancy, powerful suit and gadgets…just like Batman 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️

    1. Alex

Again stop talking about things you don’t know. The suit is not what makes black panther strong. It’s the fruit he does not need the suit.

      1. drew who

        Its a herb not a fruit 😛

      2. WBP

The vibranium suit is definitely part of what makes BP as powerful as he is …along with taking the herb.

  4. John Jackson

Please don’t replace the black panther ! It was so awesome too see kids of color feeling so proud of seeing people of color being productive and mattering in this world of are !!!!!! If anything add more people of color too the team??? Let the people know that we all can get alone ! Thank you action Jackson

    1. Scott

They are replacing one black hero with another on the roster lol. If anything this expands who they can idolize.

  5. ClericKyan

It appears people are forgetting that the article mentions t’chala’s sister as possibly taking the role and that fact nighthawk was more mentioned as a comic change.

    1. RiGo

Reading comprehension is not strong with these ones.

  6. Alex

You think he has no super powers? Have you read any of the comics? The suit doesn’t make hims super strong he eats a fruit that makes him like captain america

  7. drew who

Characters are replaced in the Avengers all the time . Why do you find this even newsworthy enough to write an article about it ?

  8. Julie

I don’t care. Just do it already.

  9. Ty

This is sad that Marvel is cutting not only a very much loved super hero but one of few main stream heroes that’s black 😒. Talking about losing a big fan base, get it right Marvel, ppl won’t be happy with this move!!!

    1. drew who

The Black Panther solo comic has never been a top selling title on a regular basis . I think the character was more popular among the public in cinematic form than he has ever been on the printed page . It regular monthly sales are around the region of 35 thousand issues on a monthly basis . Looking at the sales of January 2022 the Black Panther was the 96 in the comics sales charts . The character is not as popular as you think he is .

    2. WOB

Marvel is not “cutting” him from their comics in general, he is just leaving the Avengers. It’s not uncommon as the team is constantly in flux.

  10. Sean

I think it’s so very unfortunate that Chad passed away…but, the character he portrayed did not…I think the character Black Panther needs to continue..I am hoping that whomever produces these movies feel that replacing the lead in the role is disrespectful and feels that our Black community will be outraged…We as a black community have to grow and mature as well and realize that people die (although very sad and unfortunate), but times change and life goes on… that no one person represents an entire community…Chad will always be remembered, but let’s look ahead to a brighter future with this character..the character belongs to us all and I personally would like to see the Black Panther continue… let’s grow up, guys…

    1. drew who

I would rather see another character take up the mantle of the Black Panther than see T’chilla recast . I suspect that is what will happen

    2. JG

They could very easily bring in Killmonger from another dimension and make him the new Black Panther. I suppose it’s possible that they create another character solely to take up that mantle, but I agree, don’t recast another T’Challa, but I also don’t think it should be Shuri or the general, they have their own roles in that universe.

  11. Caligirlmix

It was unfortunate to loose Boseman. He was a great actor and will be missed. As for actors playing iconic rolls; superheroes, franchises… Yes, this was the first Black Panther and it brought out a new chapter to the MCU. So as for retiring a character, out of respect of an actor, understandable but not reasonable. There have been so many replacements of actors in rolls. The best and the worst. Boseman will always remain in the best who played T’Challa on Black Panther. They roll should be passed to another.

  12. My name is Lorenzo Bacon, gag at my name if u like, l started collecting Marvel Comics back in 1974 & to me the Great Stan Lee & Jack Kirby along with many other writer’s & illustrators we’re truly mental genius’s they had imagination’s that where out of the box, because who on planet Earth would have thought of an unknown African Nation that had far greater technologies than the United States, l also understand this is a business but “Black Panther” did huge box office numbers $$$$ that shouldn’t be taken lightly because the general public finally got introduced to the Marvel Brand’s true genius, & there are even more stories to yet unfold, but l can see that Disney is going in another direction & true diversity isn’t one of them, but really how many times can you redo Superman,Batman,Spider-Man, well without diversity we as a viewer won’t truly see just what the great Stan Lee dedicated his life & his vision, l mean u can make this hero a woman & this one Hispanic but if your overall view is narrowed than u will eventually lose public interest, l truly had so much to say & expand upon but some of it to be honest would be negative so l will forever be positive but always remember this every Human Being on the planet Earth has (1/4 African DNA) check it out because Africa is where Life started, u hear our music u see our style & l know u see our overall culture is so diverse most of the World cannot even reflect on it, yet it is there & it has always been there & it’s in Everyone of Us, remember Diversity is love & love is Life

  13. Eric Johnson

How many actors have played James Bond? How many actors have played Batman? How many actors have played Jack Ryan?
Surely, an actor can be found to replace the great Chadwick Bozeman. For an older version Djimon Honsou would
be awesome. Younger version Lakeith Stansfield. Too simply not replace the King is a cheap way out. Not looking forward to Wakanda Forever.

    1. John

I agree with everything you wrote. Thanks for being the shining light among the snowflakes.

    2. Scott

Chadwick has been deified in the industry and the public. He was a cool dude and seemed to be a decent person but I guess they just need a few years. The joker got the same treatment after ledger for almost a decade. Since marvel is pivoting though I don’t think we will see another t’challa for a long time if ever. Depends on where marvel goes with the X-Men and fantastic 4. Their catoulogue is huge so they may just never return to the character.

    3. J

      Damson Idris perhaps?

  14. Cp

Thank God. Now we can go back to concentrating on actual main characters.

    1. Alonzo Ramsey

Wow here we go!! For you info there were various races in MCU!! I despise narrow minded people that only see black and white preferably WHITE!!!

  15. Dennismhac

They need to let Michael B. Jordan return and take the Black Panther throne.
The last movie, he fell. What if he survived and changed his feelings to protect Wakanda?
That needs to happen. Wakanda needs a true King. An heir to the throne!
A protector along with T’challa’s sister. That would be the dream that all fans want. Not a Nighthawk replacement, not T’challa’s sister replacement.

  16. Manny Heffley

    Dinkle Sprinkle, GLORP GLORP!

WOOOOOOOO! GOOD OLD JADE RAHMEN TO THE RESCUE AGAIN! THANKS FOR THE TP MAN! I’LL NEVER HAVE TO WIPE MY BUTT AGAIN!!!!!!!!●●●●●●●□□■♤{|♤£■《◇€€◇♧¡◇♤♤♤》◇ MNHHU

  18. Codovan

Marvels choice had better be a king that everyone would acknowledge and talk about as much as say a Captain America, drop the Panther and the fresh air leaves the room.

  19. Alonzo Ramsey

I really had that, Black Panther was the highest MCU movie since the Avengers started. To destroy his legacy or the legacy of the Black Pather is just atrocious. It’s nice to have MCU Superheroes that aren’t always one race. I know I’ve looked up most of the Marvel original characters are of various nationalities. Stan Lee and Mr. Kirby were visionaries the original comic books were violent but they told the same stories we face every day. Now since Disney both Marvel to me they took the realness, raw and uncut versions of what and how the MCU is and was about!!!

    1. Snyper52

Damn. One black actor dies and the MCU uses it as a way to get rid of the nearly all black cake of black panther. When Paul walker died, he was CGed into a movie and still has a character even though he’s dead. Chadwick Bozemen dies and they shut out the whole character.

Off the top of my head the only black celebrity that was brought back after death was Michael Jackson, and that was probably because he appeared to be non- black.

Just recast. Don’t be lazy by removing the character and the other actors and actresses who worked hard to make you money in the movies.

      1. Scott

You realize the wish to not recast is predominantly one adopted by black people…such as Ryan coogler. They view it as a matter of respect to Chadwick who they hold dear and identify with the character. THAT’S why he won’t be recast. Not because of laziness or any race issue for a popular character that gave marvel unique accolades. Dunce.

        1. fa72

The article is talking about the comics not the movies I thought panther has been a sort of in and out member on the team for decades.

  20. Realize that comics were created for kids

  21. Jan

The way these people go at it (comments), this could actually be a n opening in the new movie about which avenger is better, and what they’re programmed to do…humm

  22. No More

Ron Desantis should really be happy and give Disney their state privileges back. Disney is doing the same Jim Crow act as the Fla governor. The 1st black original super hero according to them is now a liar, cheat, criminal going against his people. This is always how white America portrays us. They bring us down and still expect us to bring our money to the table. No more Jim Crow!!!

  23. Jake

Umm…. I feel that it’s important to remind you that Michael Jai White played Spawn, a black superhero, way before black panther. Also, in point of fact, Blade, a Marvel Comics Character, was on the big screen, played by Wesley Snipes. So, while Black Panther may be the first major native African Superhero, there were other amazing black superheroes that came before as well.

  24. Bill

The question is what good reason would they have remove such a great Superhero who has such a positive Impact. He’s the most powerful positive Black Man Superhero they have. If not the only.

  25. Wutdafuq

Night hawk is not new or modern….these authors really do the bare minimum when writing these articles…

  26. They finally get a black female to portray a superhero and they cut it because of a stupid vax that doesn’t even work? You’re serious right now? Give the woman her shining moment and continue the series. We are over Covid and Disney should be too.

  27. Tobias Emmanuel Geib

I don’t who is playing who. But Disney is getting too woke for me. Please don’t aloud the Disney miss up the mcu, like they starwars, please stop the awake before you get broke.

  28. Hawgfan1964

The Blue Marvel would be a great replacement/it would tell the backstory of one of the strongest characters yet to be explored in The MCU.

  29. Jay

WOW! Removal of Black Panther now makes the cast ALL WHITE.
While it may not have been intentional but this casting change sends a message of only caucasians can be heros or powerful leaders.

  30. BB

In my opinion marvel is shooting themselves in the foot by killing off or replacing the characters that made their business grow, the most popular for sure. I see this as suicide for the business, including for sure the demise of the Black Panther. Changing the sex of some figures is another mistake in my mind. It will be interesting to see how long they remain profitable.

  31. KING1NCE

Let me say that you cannot compare marvel with d.c period!! Marvels morph character hasn’t even emerged yet! Who Is batman a kid without parents how can you even compare the 2 ! Like comparing Elvis and tupac!!!

  32. Brenda

I am saddened they are Not replacing Black Panther…I am sure there’s plenty of qualified black men to take up the mantle! Those involved in making the movie Are Just Not On Board!

  33. Cedrick Highsmith

    marvel x DC Collab 😳

  34. Even Iron Man don’t have no superpowers but his suit make him have super powers don’t forget about him

  35. JoJoJr

I went by the set in Puerto Rico last month and they were wrapping that day.

  36. Theo

    Good.

  37. Kekkei Genkai

I knew it was gonna happen sooner or later…..Disney<Marvel=whitewashed superhero MCU stop beating around the bush Disney now hopefully I'm wrong and he will return…but if he doesn't you heard it here first folks

  38. Jeff

Good…. name is racist any how…lol

  39. CynicalMan

First, people need to get real…of course there is disappointment in replacing T’Challa with a white character; part of why Black Panther resonated with a broader audience is because it portrayed a vision of a strong black culture and hero. On the other hand, I don’t think people need to conflate real racism with role changes in a comic universe, for heaven’s sake. This isn’t the place to have the real and relevant discussion on race and racism in America. Second, Marvel did tease the Namor and Atlantis conflict in an earlier movie… a reference to Wakanda being involved in a separate conflict outside of the main story line. Thirdly, Shuri is the natural candidate to take over the Black Panther role… being part of the bloodline, and an interesting/compelling character in her own right. Finally, Feige gonna Feige. This is a for-profit enterprise (a lot of profit) and whatever decisions made are going to be primarily based on what he sees as the biggest return on investment. With the Multiverse and time travel now embedded in the Marvel world, all things become possible and it is silly to argue about canon and logic. Once you head down the Multiverse/time-travel path, breaking laws of causality, everything becomes possible (including resurrection of dead characters). Boseman was a great Black Panther and a great actor. Lament his passing, but know that the writers won’t miss a chance to score another big financial win with a set of sympathetic and compelling diverse case in the future. They will follow the money.

    1. cynicalman

      case=cast in penultimate sentence. Oops.

    2. cynicalman

Sentence still ungrammatical, but I am not going to lose sleep over it. Too many Marvel characters use the wrong case for personal pronouns routinely; I grind my teeth every time I hear one say something like, “between you and I,” or “it was given to Cap and I”. I don’t know if it is ignorant writers or careless acting, but please stop.

    3. RayGunz

      CynicalMan,
I don’t disagree. Shuri should be the first to carry the mantle of Black Panther as long as she wants to and T’Challa doesn’t want it. Being the oldest child, he earns the right to wear it and defend it.

  40. WHY IS THE PEOPLE CANNOT STICK TO THE TOPIC WITHOUT GOING TO RACISM THE TOPIC IS ABOUT THE CHARACTER AND WHO WILL PLAY THE CHARACTERS STICK TO THE TOPIC AND QUIT THE BS ON HERE, BLACK CHARACTERS HAVE BEEN KILLED OFF WHITE CHARACTERS HAVE BEEN KILLED OFF THE ACTOR IS DEAD BUT THE CHARACTER IS NOT SO HE SHOULDN’T HAVE TO DIE EITHER, STICK TO THE DAMN TOPIC PLEASE AND QUIT ALL THE BS ON HERE , AND THIS JUST ISN’T WHITE AMERICA THIS IS BLACK AMERICA TOO !!!

  41. K

I think there should be interviews to see who can fulfill black panther’s role. Then create a movie leading into his death per the comic books. The women to step up is fine but how will the story be portrayed of the black panther absence? Anyway, I’m a fan and want to see more marvel movies that are direct from the comic books. I’m also a DC comic fan and want to see more. Dueces!!

  42. EricJ

Black Panther is not the first prominent black superhero on film for tv and film or for the MCU, we had Steel (1097), Wesley Snipes Blade, Sticly Fingaz in Blade: The Series (2006 Tv Seires), Anthony Macky’s Falcon, Don Cheadle’s War Machine, we had Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, and also one on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (2016 Tv Series) Mike Colter’s Luke Cage first appeared in Marvel’s Jessica Jones (2015-19 Tv Series) season 1, we had Amenediel in Lucifer (2015-21 Tv Series). You reporters have got to do your research. and Marvel Studios had previously stated that they would not recast Black Panther for the sequel not ever. but all of that has been lost in the original artixles which you cant find because people like you didnt do they research and dont specify so its now believed to be never
