Do they even take pics for single day tickets? I thought pictures were only taken for multi day tickets and keyholders (upon using their AP for the first time).

    1. Darren

I think so? I don’t remember having to take a pic for a single day ticket. Unless that’s changed now. I’ve only taken one for when I got my AP keyholder.

  2. Mickey M

Do they realize even if they weren’t taking pictures for the ticket admission, once you are on Disney property they are already taking security photos/video of everyone, plus any of the ride photos?

    1. Obviously not. And at what time did Disney EVER sell guest photos to have her so concerned? Will the child get school photos? Has the child ever entered or left Target or WalMart? If so, he was photoed. Ppl aren’t as interested in her child as she’d like to believe.

      1. Angel

She read the policy online. She has never actually been. Nor does she realize that her and her child are constantly tracked, and that there is a thing she can do about it. However if the kid went missing she would love that tracking.

    2. Ej

      Communism at its best

  3. 🙄🙄🙄🙄,
There is always someone….There is no invasion of privacy….Kid really wants to go,come on parents, take her to Disney!!!!

    1. Christian

If she doesn’t want it, its her right. What happened to “customers always right” in this country? Liberals thats what!

      1. Jesus

“customers always right” has nothing to do with politics, you goon. But thanks for exposing lack of education.

      2. Ryan

It doesn’t work that way. Property owners have rights too. If one doesn’t want to be filmed or photographed, one has the right not to go there. All they need to do is to add signs that the premises is being recorded. Eg. It’s not illegal for a homeowner to have CCTV cameras installed in front of their house or in their backyard to protect their property. As long as the cameras are not intentionally placed on someone else’s property. It’s well within their rights to do so.

        1. Taylor

Disney has cctv all over the parks. I think the lady is either just being cheap and using that as an excuse not to take her child to the park or she wants internet attention.

      3. VDog

        “Customer’s always right”??
Yeah, that so called “principle” started going away when Karens like you started throwing tantrums as well as your hot soup on employees faces because it was not to your temperature. Whatever human came up with that logo obviously never worked on the receiving end of retail.

    2. Luke

Disney costs WAY too much for normal-income people to go there. That’s without figuring in that they greedily let in way too many people. I remember from when I went there as a child, it was an hour and 45 minutes of standing in the sun for an okay but not great ten minute ride. Oh, and they’re run by America-hating pervs. My kids will never go there. I hear Dollywood has a good reputation.

  4. Dee

I’m glad i don’t go to these parks anymore, save your money for your children’s education, Disney is the biggest rip-off to begin with, and remember folks the price of a day pass. You can’t go on every single ride, nor can you go through the entire park in 1 day, especially with young children in tow. They should use a stamp during entry and stamp when doing re-entry to the parks.

    1. Jon

Yes you can but you go ahead and stay home, Grandma.

    2. umopapisdn

Just went with a 6-year-old. Rode every ride interested in on day one. The other days were used to just ride extra. (Didn’t enter the park until after noon on second day.)

    3. VDog

I agree with Disney being overpriced and overcrowded. But I much prefer a snapshot instead of a hand stamp that will wash off, especially now that we’ve accustomed to washing up more often

  5. Oded Paz

Seriously? We are ALL photographed each and every day for different reasons, and this includes the many many security cameras everywhere. Your child is not special, and nobody is interested in their photograph. Get over your over liberalism approach to everything and take the poor girl to Disney! Stop surrounding yourselves with bubble wrap and START LIVING A LIFE!!!!!

    1. JL Tempesta

Why do you say liberalism she could be a conservative, independent or no affiliation with anything. I am assuming you are conservative. Since they are in my honest opinion the only morons who are always trying to deflect onto others what they themselves are say & do. She is probably just a cautious mother who really is concerned that the picture could be leaked out. It could happen you know. As for all the security cameras out there most don’t get close up only distance or moving.

      1. Christian

Godless liberals have absolutely destroyed this nation.

        1. Trump

No, moronic conservatives who believe in fairy tales have destroyed it.

        2. Claudius McFartknuckl

          😭

      2. Ryan

There are security cameras that offer facial recognition features. China already has such technology. So in reality current CCTV cameras are much higher resolution compared to earlier ones.

    2. Vdog

Exactly… this sounds MUCH MORE like a conservative’s “don’t tread on me” mentality where they won’t let ANYONE tell them what to do. You know very well politics doesn’t fit into this article, but if you’re gonna go there.. (typical).

  6. Joe

Disney: If you want to enter our park, you have to have your picture taken.

Woman: But I don’t want to have my kids picture taken.

Disney: You cannot enter park without having picture taken.

If you don’t want to have your kids picture taken, then don’t go to Disney. Just like if you don’t want to wear a mask, don’t fly on an airplane. Just because you don’t like something , doesn’t entitle you to an exception.

    1. Christian

      Liberal control freaks

      1. Trump

You seem to be too stupid to understand what a liberal is. A liberal does NOT want any control over peoples lives. They want people to make their own choices and do the things hey want whenever they want. Conservatives on the other hand, want to control every aspect of everyone’s life, and control what they can do and where they can do it.

Disney is an EXTREMELY conservative company and demands complete control over everyone who enters their property and all emplouees. Anyone who gets a job with us and does not support the republican party will have a very short career with us.

        1. LetsgoBrandon

          Idiots, you have that backwards.
Conservatives favor smaller gov and less regulation. Libtards (aka you) favor the gov to hold their hand in every aspect of their life because they are too stupid to think or do anything for themselves.

          1. VDOG

Must feel good to be an adult that can’t have a mature conversation without name calling. Wow, says a lot about you

      2. K8

Disney is a private business with the right to set their own rules for entering their property and utilizing their service.

Going to Disney isn’t a “right.” Either you accept their terms in exchange for their service or… don’t. She can feel however she feels but in the end she needs to prioritize what’s more important to her – her belief that a photo in file is an invasion of her family’s privacy or her child’s desire to go to Disney for her birthday.

There’s a clear set of parameters given for the latter. Either stay within them or don’t attend.

  7. Bill

Imagine being this much of a entitled, paranoid Karen. Glad this person avoids Disneyland.

    1. Christian

I read that in the smug voice you obviously have.

      1. Vdog

Karen.. I mean Christian.. I can also CLEARLY see your personality in all of the political raging comments YOUVE made as well. But I know the mirrors in your house must not show your reflection.

    2. Tanya

Oh Karen get over it! There’s cameras everywhere not just Disney. Is your Glass half empty?
Do you find something to complain about wherever you go?

  8. Jackie

I just have to LOL ridiculous

    1. Broski Vibes

I agree that it’s a bit foolish to refuse a once in a lifetime opportunity for your child’s sake, all over a photo. The woman is afraid of violating the child’s privacy, yet this same parent probably posts public pics of her child on social media such as Instagram or Facebook & thinks nothing of it. A bit foolish. There’s always that one nut in the bunch.

    2. Tanya

      Agreed 👍

  9. Pixie

Sadly, people abused the tickets and taking the photo was a way to rein in the abuse.

    1. Ted

And yet Woke Marxist Disney Corp supports no I.D. voting. Talk about hypocrisy.

    2. Dan smith

Because Disney is broke and needs the money. Can’t leave a dollar on the table.

  10. Jonathan

Karen: Having my kids picture taken is an invasion of my privacy. I refuse.

Also Karen: Posts kids all over public Facebook profile

    What an absolute idiot

    1. Christian

She’s right. Why are you assuming she uses Facebook? I know beautiful people named Karen. Its such a cruel trend by liberals to make that name a pejorative.

      1. Broski Vibes

It’s 2022. That’s why it’s a fair assumption! Most people have some type of social media account… whether Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.

        1. Gearjammer

I’m not on any social site. Never have been never will be. And I forbid all freinds/family from taking photos of me period! Because they can’t be trusted to not post them. If you assume that Disney doesn’t immediately link these photos to DOJ database you are naive. What’s legal today may not be tomorrow and Marxists have demonstrated they will dig up your past if it suits their persecution. Absolutely no photos.

          1. im Trebowski

You forbid them because the lawsuits for breaking their cameras bankrupted you.

          2. kasbaf

            🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

        2. Ryan

CCTV cameras are watching you every move. By entering,a place, you consent to such surveillance. Go to any store, they have CCTV cameras everywhere.

          1. Ryan

Also, the government probably already has your photo in a database. You show ID it has your photo, your passport has a photo that is already in their data base.

          2. Ryan

So the next time you get pulled over when the police wants to see your license and registration. You agree to share such data to the authorities. Your car’s registration is tied to your license as well. Go to court, have to show ID too as record keeping. Also, in public areas you have no rights to privacy. So ev n if one tries to sue it wouldn’t hold weight at all.

      2. david

        >Why are you assuming she uses Facebook?

Because the screenshots in the article are from a moms group on FB.

      3. VDog

And assuming peoples political affiliation and calling them names because of it is NOT a disgusting trend, CHRISTIAN???

  11. Eric M

Karen is going to freak out when not only does talking to the manager do nothing but she learns the Disneyland actually takes pictures of you when you’re on rides and strangers often take pictures of you in the background of their pictures

    1. Broski Vibes

Exactly 💯 what about all the guests taking pics & videos of their vacay also?? Is she really gonna jump in front of the camera each time to hide her child? Foolish. Karen’s need a hobby.

  12. Christian

    I agree with the Mom.

    1. Jim Trebowski

Got refused entrance for trying to get in wearing your thong again?

      1. Tanya

        🤣

  13. Frank

I wonder if this lady has a driver’s license they have pictures on them and when her precious goes to school good chance she’ll have an ID card with her photo, every day when you walk in public a number of security cameras take your picture so unless she is going to hid the kid in a closet forever she is going to have her picture taken.

  14. LuckyLynda

We need to have laws that protect us from Disney World and other companies so they cannot use our photos in the future without our permission. I get the feeling that this article is written by some Disney employee to make a appear that it’s all right. But anytime they take away your right it’s not a good thing.

    1. Ryan

Actually,on private property they have the right to. By entering a business or a premises you agree to such surveillance. Don’t want to be filmed then don’t go there.

  15. Karen needs to get laid

Please don’t go !! keep the lines shorter for me and my family

  16. Peter33

Your child won’t understand what the problem of her parents is. Basically, the one to suffer is this kid. If the parents are so obsessed they should tell the police to turn off the cameras at Walmart when they enter the shop. So this whole thing is not about doing what the child wants but about the ego of the parents.

  17. Nate

The real question is, did the woman then proceed to unlock her phone with face ID? (Jokingly)

I mean, I’ve seen other parks that use ID cards for their season pass guests (Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN), and I don’t think anyone’s had a problem with that. If anything, biometric scanning like that is just a digital photo ID.

  18. Jerry

One less person means the rest of us don’t have to wait as long when in line. Please, if you object to their policy then don’t go to any of the Disney parks! The rest of us support you completely while we enjoy a less crowded park. Please stay home or go elsewhere!

From Disneylands •Property Rules, •Company Rights

They DO state in their terms that they can use your image or voice for ANY purpose, that includes selling it, the author of this article needs to make a correction to reflect this information because the article stated that they would have to state that in their terms of use, clearly the author did not READ their terms of use because they would have read this rule and the mother is justified in being cautious and completely right to not go to Disneyland as when you enter you are under contractual agreement to allow your image or voice to used for their sole purpose. She has the right to not go or take her kids to Disneyland

    1. VDog

Realistically, there are TONS and TONS of people video taping, LIVE broadcasting on YouTube and taking pictures ALL DAY at the parks. This has become the norm with modern times and social media. You know this is a ridiculous thought knowing that her family will very likely be on other media regardless. But you ARE right. She reserves the right not to visit the parks.

Disney’s Park, Disney’s Rules! Don’t want your kids picture, stay hope. Don’t want to wear a mask, don’t expect to fly anywhere. You can choose not to Mask, Vax, get your kids picture taken but like everything their are often consequences to your decision… your choice but you aren’t special, rules do apply to you and Little Shirley too!

    1. Kat

Lol should have proofed that comment 😉

  22. Dawn

I feel bad for the kid, and hope that out of the blue one of the kids friends parents randomly takes said child to Disneyland out of the blue. I have done that a number of times. It’s a magical place that brings fairytales to life for the littles.

    1. Ej

      Communism at its best

  23. You have the right to choose either have your picture taken or don’t go. Stop complaining what do you think they are going to do with your picture sell it it’s Disneyland worry about something more serious

  24. Liz

The mother needs to realize that we use facial recognition inside the park wherever you go this also protects you as a parent if your child gets lost the recognition software helps to locate the child and can also help other cast members and locating the child by being able to see their photo we can match the child up when we find them in the park just for text parents more than hurts them I understand some people’s trepidation about privacy today but with children especially I would think that parents would want every single kind of protection they can get

  25. Alan Foxman

Does the woman post pictures of her kids on social media? Does she let her kid just like…walk around inna city? With cameras literally everywhere these days (from traffic cams to ATM machines to doorbell cams to security cameras in every store to people randomly taking photos with the cell phones everywhere you go it’s virtually impossible to be assured of not having you or your kid’s picture taken somewhere, somehow. Being concerned about Disney doing it for their ticket policy is silly.

  26. Preston

Bet she has her kid plastered all over social media.

  27. Hector

Yeah I don’t mind the ticket picture method.. I just think that there are to many paranoid people these days.. need to lay off the rec Candy if you know what I’m saying. I would never deny my child an awesome time cause of a picture … Especially if it would help if my child ever gets lost cameras would pick up on the missing child and boom !! We found your lost child ! I’m for it … Loosen up paraparents…

  28. Lisa D

My husband and I picture was taken when we entered the second park at 2pm not at the first park at 8am.
They didn’t ask or explain anything just Said please stand over here for your picture. My husband had stopped him and asked why. cast member said it’s requiring him to. We assumed that ment the system is requiring him to when our tickets were scanned the second time of entering the second park? We only had a 1 day hopper. It reminds of the Walmart self checkout that if it thinks you’re stealing it will freeze on you.

  29. KJ

This is the most asinine thing I’ve ever heard, not because she doesn’t have a legitimate concern about this (she does, and there’s valid reasoning behind her discomfort), but because she’s drawing the line at bringing her child(ren) to theme parks doing it, and here’s why:
Monitoring of citizens in the US through taping, photographing, and all types of surveillance at the local, to the business/corporate/industry, & all the way up to the government level is so unbelievably common, & it usually happens right under our noses. Her & her family have likely already been photographed, taped, and surveilled (mostly at the government level, and then the rest usually at the corporation/business level) so many times, probably 1000+ times already from the government alone, that it would be entirely moot to try to avoid places like theme parks that take your photo when first letting you in. It’s happening all the time to every single on-grid US inhabitant just by the government alone, it’s just that she and the rest of us aren’t being made aware of when exactly it happens, and how.
I think she just needs to suck it up and take her kid(s) to the theme parks and stop trying to make a stand against something that’s just a drop of water in the giant bucket, and a very mild version of the bigger picture of what’s happening similar to this issue, except much more extreme. She’s not making any sort of difference, she shouldn’t be trying to make this the hill she dies on.

  30. Elize

    I agree!
    Don’t add your child’s face.

  31. Who cares

If you want privacy stay tf home…

  32. Clew

One person replied that if a child goes missing it helps locate the child. Perhaps she has a stolen child? A photo for identification purposes no more invades your privacy since it is a select few who see it and use it. Sounds like she was pulling a stunt.
