Part of the excitement of going to world class theme parks (as opposed to thrill ride parks like six flags) is not knowing what you might see.

Demanding every show and every attraction be available open to close is rediculous.

Some days there might be a water and music show, a parade, fireworks, etc. Some days not. Get over it.

The preshow is part of the rides, not a separate thing like fireworks or something. Why should his simple, friendly question to the parks illicit such hostility from you?

      1. Chris Wood

I haven’t been on this ride. But its only a pre show, which they can project through out the line so that everyone can see it.

        1. Rob

There are effects in the room to go along with the video that they couldn’t duplicate just by having screens elsewhere in the line.

Chris – Well said and agreed.

We have ridden Hagrids Motorcycle ride many times and we never knew about the pre-show. I don’t think it’s because I’m in a wheelchair but (my husband helps me transfer) but I had thought that a pre-show was a way to keep folks from being cranky while waiting in line. I guess it’s so close to the actual ride that they would have to wait for it to end? Perhaps putting it further away from actually boarding it could help? Universal is so much better at line’s than the OTHER Orlando theme parks that you have to cut them a little slack… we were there 3 separate times during the COVID “crisis” and they rocked! Some things had to be canceled because of government regulations and they were always up front and accommodating that the total of 30 days o
In 20 months were amazing, even with shutdown s. We love Universal!

The title of this article makes us think Harry Potter in general is no longer going to be available at Universal. A change to the title will clarify. Just visited there Christmas.

      3. Doucher

Because he wants to destroy you and loves misery. And you demand everything be working and available all the time. I understand how he feels.

  2. Headwin McWoots

Well Forbidden Journey was cool and I’ll really miss it.

    Signed “head lines only guy”.

Although the article has nothing to do with the ride itself, I’ve been to Orlando 3x since that open (from the other side of the continent) and all 3x I have been unable to get on that ride. It was broken all day the first. The second and day it had 300+ minute wait times, which I stood in line for 2-3 hours twice only to have it break down both times for the rest of the day or majority of the day.

    Does that thing ever work?

I was there in February and had no problem getting on the ride, we paid extra to get to the head of the line, still had a bit of a wait, but it was one of my favorite rides there

      1. Lukas

You can’t pay extra to skip this line, so unfortunately you are lying out of your ass.

        1. Robin

You can skip the line via a VIP Tour. We’ve been a couple of times, skip the line, and always get to ride (i.e., it’s not broken down on the days we’ve visited).

    2. Doucher

They always shut it down when they know that cry babies are headed in its direction. Try wearing a disguise

Indefinitely closed for awhile doesn’t make sense. It’s either closed Indefinitely or closed for awhile. It cannot be both.

    1. Sarah

Indefinitely means for an unlimited OR unspecified period of time. Doesn’t just mean unlimited/forever

We went in September and rode the ride twice. First time no pre-show. Second time with it. I honestly preferred the first time. I didn’t like being herded into a large room with other guests jockeying for spots closer to the door. The show is nice but not really necessary. It was a great ride regardless.

We didn’t get to experience the Hagrid pre show, but my boys still loved the motorbike ride. They thought the line was long enough because you can’t use your express pass on it. Although some of the pre shows on other rides were really cute, some on other rides were not worth it. The rides are still fun with or without them.

The pre show is coming back at the end of March

I’m sure if they asked their good friends over in Communist China then some more innocent blood could be spilled to make it work.

    1. Doucher

It can be whatever it wants to be. This is all fantasy and smoke and mirrors. It’s Harry potter. And they’re a big corporation so they do what they want when they want regardless of how you feel or what you think. I hope that answered your dilemma. Have a nice day

    2. Doucher

I’m guessing that you’re willing to volunteer? We’ll try to set up a time for you

  9. Mark

First 2 times I rode it, I saw the pre-show. Every visit since (probably 10?), no pre-show. Honestly not missing it. All it does is slow down the line.

    Good riddance.

  10. Herman Munster

While I appreciate the experience a pre-show can add, I’m not a fan of how it dismantles the line and you lose your place within it — Velocicoaster & Forbidden Journey both do this well since you’re in a queue the entire time. Perhaps they should do the same for Hagrid’s?

    1. YourDad

Except Velocicoaster does it with the lockers then you jump in another que, I like it, gives me a chance to jump the slow pokes

Went last June, we rode it 5 times over 3 days. No pre-show. That is my favorite ride in any park. Show or no show, well worth it! We are going again this June. Already booked and I can’t wait!

The One MAJOR reason we go to Universal is Harry Potter. The only reason we buy two park tickets is to get into ALL of Harry Potter. We are not rollacoaster fans, we don’t like much else at Universal. Just Harry Potter.
