Pretty wild leap there to go from adding a few TV-MA shows (along with easy to use parental controls to prevent children from having access to them) to “stripteases in Fantasyland”. Ridiculous overreaction.
It’s not so crazy. A couple of weeks ago we noticed that the series Pam and Tommy was being promoted on our 12 yo son’s Disney plus Home Screen. Even though the service knows his age it was still offered right there next to Encanto and Gravity Falls.
I think you’re full of it I watch Disney + frequently and never seen that and that’s without using parental controls. Go troll somewhere else we’re not buying what you’re selling
It is on it in the UK where Disney Plus has an ‘adult’ section where they put their Hulu programs because we don’t have Hulu here. We also have Walking Dead, AHS and the all the former 21 Century films and programmes. They have an excellent parental control filter and you cannot even see that section if you have it set.
Wild idea….hear me out. How about parents actually parent. Use the parental settings, talk to your children about what’s appropriate and not appropriate. Watch tv as a family and don’t send them off to their rooms alone with their devices. Shocking….I know.
Wow maintain your children then and make sure they don’t , if you don’t trust your kids then cancel Disney + why make us Marvel fans suffer for a bunch of Parents who prob have no idea what their kids even do outside the house!!
I’m upset that they don’t carry more R rated movies or more mature shows. In the countries Disney includes Fox
R rated movies, or movies like Deadpool, included in Disney Plus under the Star brand. But we have to pay a totally separate fee for Hulu to such movies. I don’t think Disney
Plus will be able to compete with HBO and Netflix if they are G rated material only for the under 10 crowd and their parents.
And that is the whole purpose of parental controls.
These parents realize there are parental controls on Disney+ accounts right? You can restrict the age ratings allowed to be searchable on each account. You’re the parent, you can control what your child sees, not the big company who caters to more that just you

Maybe parents need to be parents. Stop ruining everyone else’s life. If u would teach your children right from wrong like our parents did the world be a better place right now. Need to go back to the way things were. Not a world were oh u can’t do this oh u can’t do that. Mind your business and stop trying to tell others what they should or shouldn’t do. If u do t like it turn it off or set parental controls!
i Can just see these people now, grey suited, nose in the air, hankering for victorian times, putting on fake posh snotty accents, and quite possibly walking around mumbling some incoherent crap about the devil and hellfire waiting for all the sinners. There are already parental controls on D+, plus a whole section only accessible to adults, what more do they want? loonybins the lot of em!!
I have disney+ and when I go on, I go to my settings. When the kids go on, they go to theirs. The first thing when you open the app is “who is watching”. The problem seems to be that some folks want to control everyone’s viewing, not just their household
Which also a trend I am seeing in education where parents who teach bigotry and prejudice at home want to continue that in the classroom. Aka Floriduh.
I’m a grandma. I buy Disney+ for ME, not for anyone else. The sad thing is, I don’t watch R rated anything because I choose NOT to. I subscribed to Disney+ because it didn’t have this issue.
Anyone can use the Parental Controls, but that’s not the issue. The downward spiral of morals is the problem. The fact that Disney held to family values is what encouraged me to subscribe. I don’t subscribe to the others simply because I don’t watch R rated anything. If that is your choice, pay for it. But Disney should hold to its standards. Family friendly isn’t so friendly if objectionable content is available to the young, not so young, and pure, innocent or plain morally strong individuals. Using ‘controls’ shows kids there are unsafe or other types of choices and their minds will think we are withholding something special from them. Let them be children and let them be safe in an environment that is family friendly. They grow up way too fast and they can make choices what to view when they are older and more experienced.
There will be those that disagree; your choice. But it is time to bring back higher moral standards.
Disney+: drop the MA and R rated or start a subscription called DisneyMA and let those that prefer violence, swearing, sex and horror subscribe to that one.
I think it’s great that Disney + is adding this new content. It’s keeps viewership up. Parental controls are important. Parents should x out what they don’t want their kids to watch. It’s the parents choice to stay or go somewhere else, but DISNEY is staying. I’m also sure SOME parents are fans of MCU so they need to manage their own content and keep a eye out on what their kids watch.
I guess they didn’t know that Touchtone Pictures was a Disney studio for 38 years and they have consistently released R-Rated films under several other subsidiaries, all owed and operated by Disney. They also continue to operate as distributer for many such films. These parents need to check out Disney’s R-Rated Catalog, just search google I am sure they can find it all. Disney has had a dog in the R-Rated race for over 40 years. This is nothing new for them, just what brand they put it under. Its all Disney and nothing wrong with it. Just more nonsense from the cancel culture squad.
Really? Has anyone seen The Incredibles? you think the junk in Elasti-girl trunk was drawn for the kids. Who do you think drives the kids to the movies?
Disney has always had adult content cleverly hidden in their films. Why do you think adults would sit through two hours if they were not catching subtle animator jokes?
Also enough already with the morals drum beat. Europe has had nude commercial since the 70s on TV. It is really about time America dropped its puritanical pretenses.
Facts!!!!! This “Parental” group and some commenters in here forget Disney owned Miramax films from 93-2010. And boy the films released during those 17 years are sure as hell very much adult.
What can you really expect from Disney anymore. They support teaching children 4 year olds through 7 year olds sexual orientation in public schools to guide them in the direction that the teacher leans. It doesn’t matter the parental belief and guidance anymore but what they can indoctrinate into kids.
Disney is seemingly spiraling out of control away from being family friendly in so many ways. Saddens more than angers me, this leadership bunch tearing down what Walt built.
I feel like we’re only going back in time with these people. They always want to go “back to a simpler time.” Give me a break. Times change, the world changes. Half the D+ library are now titles from previous subsidiaries/distributors. Quit sending us back in time to the black and white TV era and making the rest of us suffer. Watch your kids instead of letting them do whatever they want in their rooms by themselves. These are going to be the same people lining up to watch the new content, too. No sympathy from me. #sorrynotsorry
This is just stupid. “For more than 98 years…” No, just no. Marvel is a subsidiary of Disney. Disney has been producing R rated content since at least 1996 through various subsidiaries just like Marvel. These people need slapped. Maybe stop worrying about your child learning to defend others by watching Marvel contact and worry that they are learning to be hypocritical liars by watching lying bigots like you.

You know Disney+ doesn’t even carry that show right?
You were exposed to lead as a child weren’t you?

Sounds like a great theme for an after hours 21+ event. Some of the face characters at the parks are pretty hot.

No kidding, it’s no secret that they won’t hire ugly people for those characters. Create a new “park” for an older crowd.

Not really – we had the parental controls set to our son’s account but Pam and Tommy appeared on the Home Screen. And American Horror Story.

Wah wah wah do some better parenting

Chill, parents, and use your parental control selection which you control by a few touches of keys.
