I am not sure how this relates to Disney. Haven’t they had enough bad press lately? this does not seem to fit with Disney news at all. Can we go back to just Disney related updates?

I agree.. no reason to tie Disney to this tragedy!

    2. Stretch

Agreed. It is a 23 minute drive to that resort from WDW. Why is this being brought up? It’s tragic, but has nothing to do with Disney.

This is a super strange article. Not really related to Disney. Also the upbeat tone about Disney resorts is weird with this subject matter. Not sure what the hotel amenities and renovation date have to do with a child’s death.

Agreed! This read like a travel ad for central Florida. Totally tone deaf!

    2. Natasha

I feel like the person that wrote this was more concerned about getting people to the resorts and hotels. This entire article is highly insensitive to the tragedy of this child! Not a good look for this website that allowed it either…..

Star Island-you quoted from their website in the description? Really? And folks are right: this has ZERO connection to ANY park. Suggest you pull the story and do a story on INSANE traffic on Highway 192 through the MK every afternoon.

Strangely written report. It appeared like two different articles mashed together. Not cohesive at all.

  5. Alicia

Strange article to say the least. Very sad about the little girl. What is this writer trying to accomplish here? How is this related to Disney?

  6. Cherie

Why was Disney or Universal Studios even mentioned? This did not happen on their property. Report the actual story with follow thru. Prayers for that child.

There y’all go again, another slow negative day for WDW, so y’all tie this catastrophe to make it look like Disney is involved. If this is all the person who wrote the article can come up with, fire them.

PLEASE!!! DO NOT START BRINGING IN TRAGIC NEWS REPORTS FROM OUTSIDE DISNEY PROPERTY!!! JUST STOP IT!!!

  9. DMD

This story does NOT belong on ITM.
These new “writers” are just looking for something to fill the space. And she/they are just rewriting someone else’s story. It’s not even investigative reporting.

    PLEASE stick to Disney news

This is an absolutely ridiculous article. To say the author is tone-deaf is an understatement. Your senior editors and leadership really need to take a look at how these articles are put together and if it makes sense for your website. I’ve grown very tired of your formula approach using a opening paragraph with flowery language and taking another100 words to get to the point. I know what you’re doing – trying to keep the reader on the page for that critical view time. But, this article is just in bad taste. Really bad taste.

Omg — that is exactly how the articles read (the first paragraph especially)!

Possibly their worst article I ever read, and can’t agree more with the above comments that you’re fraudulently tying it to Disney. It isn’t even solid reporting as to what happened and why the charges are being brought.

I thought I was the only one who read this article and said to myself, “wtf did I just read?” What a mess of an article and I’m still wondering why it was even written.

What is wrong with this reporter?? She’s more interested in Disney and resorts than the tragic occurrence. They need to take her pc, typewriter, pen, and press access away!

    1. Jan

      I agree!

I’m not sure the reporter knows how to show compassion. This article should have been about the compassion people feel for the baby not misguided information.
