OMG, this generation is killing me. The stuff in the blender is wheat paste. It comes dry and needs to be mixed up with water. This was used before they had prepasted wallpaper. The only mistake here is someone not knowing history.

      Totally agree!

Nobody does any actual research these days before they rush to their social media apps to post their stupidity.

    3. Barry

      Well said, THANK YOU!

    4. Mars

You, Deb, are AWESOME!!! Thank you!

    5. Chris

Yes, but they got you to see the ads and made revenue. There is a purpose behind what seems to be stupidity.

Thank you all for your comments. So sick and tired of social media and people just talking out of their – – – without a thought as to what is correct.

You are 100% correct Deb. Full Stop !!!

As silly as this discussion might seem it’s at least a fun, civil back and forth. The history and circumstances of past family life, portraits of American prosperity and promotion of future advances in American prosperity was a topic dear to Walt Disney’s heart.

Thank you for not putting any political spin on this. One of the best things I experienced with Disney growing up was the freedom from politics and joy of simple happiness. Our very first family trip to WDW was Easter in 1979.

When I was in Tokyo I enjoyed how festive the Japanese Disney embrace of American history and traditions like Halloween and Christmas was. Interestingly,
Japanese media in general stays mostly out of politics and elections which was refreshing and very civilized.

As to the wallpaper vs. paint discussion, I also believe the mixer is likely supposed to be mixing paste but don’t forget that even with wallpaper there’s still a need to paint trim and window and door elements.

I came here for the mistake about the Wright Brothers supposedly being from North Carolina. That is incorrect. They are and always were from Dayton, Ohio.

Similar thing with Abraham Lincoln. The man is from Kentucky not Illinois. Lincoln was just a senator from Illinois.

Love this article and if i could add… How about the fact that its the same family are we truly supose to believe its 4 different families that are identical to each other and have the same names it makes me laugh forget their story is continued in Horizons so many forget that! Oh yea that scene that is the 40s is the 50s unless you had lots of money!

It is 100 percent wallpaper paste she is mixing. Wallpaper paste existed up into the 90s ( last time I put up wallpaper )I am betting it is still around today even if most paper is prepasted of peel and stick.

It wasn’t supposed to be different families or generations. It was showing that same family in different time periods. You are overthinking the hell out of it.

    OMG, WHO CARES.

  7. Debbie

PASTE they didnt have prepasted wallpaper back then .

This is my favorite go-to oasis in the MK. Was there for the original presentation at the New York World’s Fair. Of course it’s gloppy wallpaper paste. But I would mix it by hand. Why in the world would I risk ruining my genuine GE stand mixer with that goo?!? P.S. There IS a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!!

What bugs me is why do Sarah(mother) and John(father) have three kids in one decade and two in the rest? I mean really does that bug anyone else?

    1. Sandy

True. We don’t talk about Bruno. 😉

    2. Shari Pfeffer

This is what I was hoping to read about! Lol

  10. Sandy

In the show itself Sarah says that John’s contraption that he made with her mixer just splattered PAINT all over her ‘rumpus—uh room’. So although paste for the wallpaper makes sense, Disney says it is paint in the food mixer.

There are mistakes in pretty much every Disney story. They don’t worry about things like that.
