Since NOBODY thinks emailing Disney will make a SUBATOMIC PARTICLE of difference………………is there ANYTHING………anything AT ALL that we can do to get Chapek out?
In the best case scenario, I guess all we can do is just bleed Disney dry of money until shareholders stop getting payed and realize that a whole new board is needed……..First Susan Arnold and THEN Chapek.
We ALL need to remember that Sue Arnold HOLDS THE STRINGS on Chapek, and Chapek holds the strings on Josh D’Amaro, so Arnold is the ABSOLUTE top. I therefore think that if Disney starts making major losses, shareholders might vote against ARNOLD and reinstate a better Chairman who can make more changes than ANY CEO.
1. Susan Arnold is the first person in the Greed Centipede
2. Followed by CEO Bob Chapek
3. Followed by Josh D’Amaro (whom EVERYONE GIVES A PASS) for the decisions made in the park
4. And then finally WE are at the back of that centipede
Only gutting the parks of all their money can truly wake shareholders UP and get them to take charge, remove the entire board a replace a new one…….That could be our ONLY hope
We cannot just sit here and complain; if we are to save Disney then we need to do SOMETHING about it. Our wallets are our greatest weapon against Disney’s current board, and it could allow a new breed of execs to come in and revitalize the company.
Unless you truly believe that Disney is a lost cause, I would urge you to withhold your money as long as is necessary before a new CEO AND Chairman are elected. Then and ONLY then might we see a revitalization of the Walt Disney Company.
THE REAL problem here is that there are just too many people who consider a vacation at any Disney locale a good idea. You’d be better off booking a suite at the swankiest resort hotel in the world.
I booked a room a California Adventure Hotel. The cost was $775./night for a no frills regular room. The morning of our flight I checked again and the room was listed for $575. Arriving at the front desk to check in I made this aware to the clerk. Her answer was, “So you want to upgrade?” “No!”, I said. “I want my rate lowered.” The clerk looked at me like I was speaking in tongues. Finally, after pulling out my phone and showing her the rate was lower than she was charging and the clerks blank stare, I gave up and swallowed the extra $200. Also, I realize I can go to Las Vegas 3 times for every Disneyland trip.
Um, why are you complaining exactly? You do realize that hotels and airlines ALWAYS lower rates last minute to sell off unused rooms/seats. Just because you booked your room months in advance at a higher rate doesn’t entitle you to get a $200 discount the day you show up to the hotel. Nice try though. Also this is in no way Disney’s fault.
Yes, of course, the rate you pay is for what you book When you book it. And, he seems to be complaining about his choice to have booked a standard “no frills” room for $775/night. That was ok but then it’s suddenly not ok. Hotel room pricing is always in flux, mostly due to discount resellers like Price Line, Last Minute Travel and their ilk. Any “left over” rooms then get heavily discounted. This guys timing wasn’t good and so he didn’t get the best deal he could have. Still, if you’re that worried about money, wtf are you doing reserving hotel rooms at $775/night?
THE REAL problem here is that there are just too many people who consider a vacation at any Disney locale a good idea. You’d be better off booking a suite at the swankiest resort hotel in the world.
Yes overcharged for our hotel I per paid the hotel 9 nights when I got the bill they charged me for more night .I spent si many hours on phone bill nope never got any answers or refunds clearly I had the bill and I could see it and I had the credit I paid
Agree with this 100%. If Disney says they don’t see the charge on their end have your credit card company issue a chargeback. If there is no record on Disney’s end you get your money back.
Another thing is to always use a major credit card and not your card that is tied to your bank account when making purchases like this. That way if there is a dispute it is the credit card company’s money that is tied up and not yours.
Disney emails an itemized bill the morning you leave. I was recently charged a pet fee, which was easily fixed at the front desk before left. If they charge your card more then you dispute it with your card holder. Boycott Disney? Please. Profits are up, and parks aren’t even at full capacity. No one is listening. It amazes me that all the commenters on here have the answers on how a billion dollar company should operate. I didn’t realize only CEO’s, who have experience were allowed to post their opinions on here.
Agree with everything you said 1,000%. I laugh at all the people who say “boycott Disney” and think they can run a multi-billion dollar conglomerate spanning the entire world any better. Only thing I would do differently is not stay on property. It’s cheaper and takes just as long to get to the parks as the “budget” hotels on property.
People are always complaining about Disney but yet there r thousands of people that go and spend there money there. It doesn’t matter if Disney charged 500 a day people would still go. Why. I don’t know. It not worth the money. They treat there cast members like crap the parks are understaffed bc nobody wants to work there here in Florida and if they do it only for the getting into the parks for free. The parks a filthy. Everything cost extra now. It’s crazy. But people will still go. Plus Disney is making a good profit they want you to think they aren’t but they are. I have a lot of neighbors that work there or have worked there and most don’t even go there on there days off bc they know how they are. They support China. And yet you think they would pull the Russian Coke from the cool cub. NO. But let’s change everything else bc it might offend someone.
I get that from time to time things can and do go wrong, but i think it only right and proper that in this situation Disney should have sorted this out, rather than just hanging up on you or indeed passing the buck to yet another Department, where is the coming taking ownership for an issue…
Sadly this bunch of greedy Disney Board Members to get a crap about you a a customer and they need to do much better. The reputation is dreadful these days but they just do not care.
I would add on this issue in isolation, dispute the charge with your credit card company, explain you tried to sort it out but get no where with Disney and as was said above, get the Credit Card to take up the error and charge back to Disney.
Could ask you the same question…
“The only number they gave me was back to the U.S. as the U.K. doesn’t deal with refunds or billing,” the Guest said. “But when phoning Billing and Research in the U.S., I automatically get hung up on.”
The UK Company gave them the number. They called the U.S. and were hung up on from there.
It was still the UK company IT that hung up on them. Its just that the Billing and Research department is based in the US. I guess reading comprehension isn’t a strong suit of yours either.
Wrong again, cupcake. The US NUMBER HUNG UP ON THE PERSON.
“The only number they gave me was back to the U.S. as the U.K. doesn’t deal with refunds or billing,” the Guest said. “But when phoning Billing and Research in the U.S., I automatically get hung up on.”
Iguess the person who needs to improve their reading comprehension is you!
I had a problem last March- on the day of checkout they had charged a card that was previously on file and not the one that was currently tied to my account- this was at the contemporary and the manager finally came and said it was a glitch with the IT department! I paid cash and they reversed the charges, but it took 10 days to put the money back in my account. If I hadn’t noticed it before I left I don’t think they would have fixed it- I still had to pay an overdraft fee as the card they used was tied to my checking account! Their IT is a mess
Nope, Disney should pay the overcharge fee. You did not give them your permission to use that account. Why do I get the feeling that the IT excuse is the standard reply.
Solution – Use a Disney certified travel agent to book everything for you. If you use the right agent it doesn’t cost anything extra and they handle any problems with bookings and billing. We use Academy Travel but there are a lot to choose from. Look for an “Earmarked Agency”.
I do use a Platinum rated Earmarked agency and they have stepped in on a couple of occasions to save me from having to deal with issues on my trip. Amazing thing is that it costs nothing above the price of my trip for this service. I do check my billing statement before final check out though, and look at my credit card statement again weekly for the next month to make sure any late charges that show up are valid.
Why Disney, I would rather stay home and use that money for me. I’ve been to Disney World many times but for the money they want now for a room for one nite, forget it.
Depends upon when you go and where you stay what it costs per night. I paid more for a standard chain hotel in Florida than I did for my WDW resort room. We stay at a value resort that has recently had the rooms updated to be as nice or nicer than places like Hampton Inn, very good for the price.
This is where getting your credit card company involved is important. Do use a credit card and not a debit card to pay for the trip if possible. You can dispute charges while you try to resolve them and they will be removed from your account while you do so. Check your individual CC rules for how to do this. Also, if you can see the charge but Disney cannot, how about sending them a printout or screenshot of the charge you are seeing?
Chris Elliott at Elliott.org is a consumer advocate and if he takes your case the service is free. Send home a timeline detailing the issue PLUS send him your PROOF (bank stmts etc) and your paper trail to fix.
Go through your credit card company and dispute the charges and tell them what happened. They will assign a case and you won’t have to pay until it’s resolved. The company’s get back real fast when it’s the credit card company. Good luck
Lol, you probably want to read it again yourself, Kev, clearly states he was given a number for the US who hang up on him. You considered reading comprehension your own strong suit?

When I go to the desk, I find that in the time I booked the parasailing to when I went on the cruise, they had raised the price and tried to say I must have booked it after the price change. Luckily, in my OCD planning, I had printing out the confirmation of the booking that had the date I booked it on it and I had brought that confirmation with me. I then gave it to the desk clerk and was like, “No, the cost of this was locked in on this date & time BEFORE the price was changed so please take this to your supervisor so it my bill can be fixed to the right amount.” Thankfully they did fix it, but it just goes to show that you have to stay on top of your prices & print out everything so you deal with any surprises.

The hypocrisy is honeslty quite astonishing; people are complaining and yet STILL VISITING. The board ALWAYS gets the last bloody laugh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
