Ok, let’s stop right here. 30 min early entry? Come on, after taking away extra magic hours, free fastpasses, magical express, and raising costs on tickets and hotels, adding “resort parking fees,” increasing food costs, and decreasing portion sizes, this is what you are billing as a “Massive New Benefit?” How much is Disney paying you for this attempt at damage control advertising? Jeez…Forget how they have been putting profits ahead of people, they are giving us 30 whole minutes!!! Pitiful
Let’s not forget daily room cleaning and the delivery service that took items you bought in the park sent them on to your room so you didn’t have to lug them around the theme parks…
Last time I checked you do not even get the included in your price Magic Band, the price goes up and up, the perks go down and down, you have to pay for the magic bands now.
Massive Perks get lost, the perks are all but gone, how old is this article, the measly extra 30 mins in the parks fulls well short of pre Covid, Disney you are fooling no one with your hyped up crap, honestly what a cheek.
Agree completely. We used to get 3 hours extra time in the parks at night as a hotel benefit. 30 minutes is nothing. Last time we were there it got us on 1 extra ride per day.
Disney has absolutely broken countless hearts, mine included. I used to plan my annual trip with giddy childlike excitement. My last trip in 2020 was a tearful farewell to a once cherished home away from home. I will not spend another dime on anything Disney. I understand they need to make money but they have absolutely lost sight of Walt’s original idea. The experience of families creating lifelong magical memories. It will never be the same. They’ve taken away countless perks-Magical Express, Magic Bands, Free parking at the resorts, FastPasses, Extra Magic Hours, and too many more to mention. There’s NOTHING Magical about it anymore. They refuse to see how all the little details make the experience truly magical and memorable. They’ve lost the the ability to envision or see it through childlike eyes, the magic is absolutely gone. They started slowly getting rid of things that were probably not noticed by all but, appreciated by many. The small orchestra, in the lobby, at the Grand Floridian for about 35 years. “Wishes” evening fireworks show in magic kingdom replaced with “Happily ever after”. The Epcot evening show wasn’t my favorite but what replaced it was so inept and sad I couldn’t wrap my head around it. The Electric Light parade in Magic Kingdom packed up and sent to Disneyland. The Osborne Family Dancing Christmas Lights at Hollywood Studios. Gone and replaced with the Star Wars area. The real paintbrushes you could find on Tom Sawyer Island, resulting in a fastpass to any ride in Magic Kingdom. The saddest part is many Imagineers put their heart and soul into so many small details that will go unnoticed. It will become a one and done trip for first timers because of the outrageous costs, the crowds, the continuous frustration, that ends in an experience that is full of “Meh” NOT magic. Their only goal is to make as much money as possible and push their woke social agenda. If they are so inclusive and concerned about those that are marginalized why don’t they discount tickets, lodging, merchandise, and meals for those they claim to be concerned about? They’re most guilty of what they claim to despise. They’ve been able to fool the typical American family into thinking you’re still getting a great vacation even though you’re paying twice as much for half the benefits. But, you should do it because it’s the “right thing”. Just like paying $5.00 a gallon for gas, from Russia, is the patriotic thing to do. Big business will always love big profits at any cost.
In order to go back to when you felt comfortable at Disney, then you are good with the racist tones of some of the movies, with not everyone feeling comfortable being identified as a female or male, and let’s not forget Walt was an anti-semite. So the rest of us will applaud any changes to be more inclusive, and will not miss you vacationing there. Everyone has a choice, and you made yours. Maybe try that Ark Encounter in Kentucky…not WOKE or backed by science.
These “New Benefits” aren’t new at all…… we were annual pass holders for over 23+ years…. And a Original owner of a Vacation Club Membership (Old Key West)(No longer pass holders – it’s not enjoyable, they’ve become “All Mighty Dollar in my Pocket)These so called benefits is what Disney used to provide to its guests for free. If you were a pass holder, parking was free, you didn’t have to pay to park/spend the night at their resorts, early park hours were for everyone that stayed in the resorts. I’m glad our kids grew up when it truly was the Most MagicalPlace on Earth!
It’s all a joke. I’m sure WALT would not approve of the way the WD company is being run today! So sad, the new generations will never know.
Hi Bobbie – I’d like to make you an offer on those DVC Old Key West points. As you were an original owner you paid somewhere around $50 a point in 1991. And since you are done with Disney, I’ll offer you $60 a point. That’s a 20% return on your investment. Call me 🙂
I feel exactly as you do. Have been going to Disney World for 30 years +. Had great experiences with my family during that time, that I decided to by DVC at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Now at its present state, the Disney magic is not there anymore. I’m glad Disney has given me those cherished memories with my family that I will never forget. But I am considering it’s time to sell my DVC membership since the magic is not there anymore for me and my family. Would regret if I couldn’t experience Disney with my grandchildren though.
“Adds Massive Benefit”, you really need to retitle this to “Adds Mediocre Benefit”. Getting tired of all these Disney Blog sites sugar coating and making things appear better than they are.
How much did Disney pay you to write this propaganda? You have to pay for magic bands now if you don’t want to use your phone, the magic hours are less than they use to be, you have to pay $15 per ticket for what use to be free fast passes, they no longer offer magic express from the airport to their hotels, they never service your rooms, and no meal plans so they gouging families at every turn! I don’t know how anyone with a conscious and clear understanding what has happened over the last two years could write this article.
No magical express, pay extra for rides if u choose to do so, increase in park tickets – EVERY YEAR- SMALLER portions – higher prices on ALL merchandise, less customer service, and the list goes on, on, and on. Looked into selling our DVC 2 days ago and it seems like to the best thing to do- prices on everything will continue to rise at WDW and less in return- the so called “magic” has disappeared and not interested in giving more money to executives already making millions on trying to figure out how to “steal” more money away from people who save for years to make a memorable family trip- pathetic!!
It has always been a early ent. for guest staying at a Disney Hotel or a Disney Resort. So, I do not know where you get this is new. And the rides have been open for the guest. Someone go into the Archive’s and look back at the history of Disney’s FREE things for the guest. I understand somethings had to change d/o COVID but that is gone, go back to the DISNEY WALT MAKE A GREAT PLACE. I know money is what is needed, but stop making the guest pay sky high prices for everything. The park’s are not as much fun like they used to be. Everything is all ABOUT MONEY MONEY MONEY, you do not care about the guest experience any more, its just HOW MUCH you can get out of a guest. And as far as the 50th Anniversay you did not order enough merchanidse, I tried to find something and had to go to several different stores to get it. I finally found it at Disney
Springs. The only reason I found it there was the Cast MEmber from Port Orleans French Qtr called and found it for me. ALL THE GIFT SHOPS SAID I DO NOT KNOW WE DO NOT HAVE IT. EPCOT LOOKS TERRIBLE WITH ALL THE FOOD VENDORS IN THE DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. I KNOW YOU NEED TO CHANGE THINGS OUT TO KEEP IT WELCOMING, BUT EVERY TIME YOU DO IT COST THE GUEST BIG TIME.
But Joyce, you still went and were sucked into spending your hard earned dollars on a “50th Anniversary” item made in China that no one will care about next year. And yet you still complain about HOW MUCH Disney can get out of a guest? Nothing was ever “free” at Disney, they included “things” in the “price of admission” be it at the Resorts, the Parks or the Annual Passes. Everything has a cost associated to it, nothing is “free”, the difference is now Disney is making everyone pay for those perks to increase their shareholder value. Judging from the size of the crowds at the Parks and Resorts, and how fast “50th Anniversary” items fly off the shelves, there’s an awful lot of people out there that are willing to pay the extra to visit. You were one of them?
They’re not new benefits they are just bringing back what they already had. 30 minutes early is a joke, Should be 1 hour. The more hotels that get benefits the less the benefits seem. Should only be Disney Hotels
Oh wow a whole 30 minutes – great I can now stand in a line for 30 minutes and then after the park opens stand in that same line longer as all the genie+ and other special accomodations that cost boo coo bucks and allow others to cut in front.
So done with this crap. So done.
TOOK DAUGHTERS TO DISNEY EVERY YEAR SINCE 1992 UNTIL 2012. THEN I WENT EVERY YEAR AND EVEN GOT PASSHOLDER FOR ONE YEAR. PRICES WERE GOING UP PRE COVID BUT NOW HAS ESCALATED TO A POINT WHERE ONLY UPPER UPPER MIDDLE CLASS CAN AFFORD. CROWDS NOW ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE FINALLY MAKING THE TRIP THAT WAS PLANNED PRE COVID OR THOSE WITH MONEY THAT THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH. NO SHOWS LIKE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. NO PARADES WHICH WERE ENTERTAINING FOR ALL. STAY ON PROPERTY AND HAVE TO PAY TO PARK YOUR CAR AT HOTEL? MICKEY EAR ICE CREAM BAR $6.50 OR MORE NOW? PAY FOR FAST PASS? PAY FOR TRIP FROM AIRPORT WITH PRIVATE COMPANY? AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.. MIGHT TRY EPCOT AGAIN BUT NEVER BACK TO THE OTHER PARKS. DEFINITLY “NOT” WORTH THE COST. STAY AT $70 HOTEL IN KISSIMMEE, MOST HAVE FREE SHUTTLES TO PARKS. EAT FULL BREAKFAST AT LOCAL BUFFETS FOR $12.00. BUY T SHIRTS FOR HALF THE PRICE AT LOCAL GIFT SHOPS.. MANY OTHER OFF PROPERTY PERCS. GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND GOD BLESS WALT DISNEY FOR WHAT HE DESIRED FOR US THAT OTHERS HAVE DESTROYED.
Guests who stay on-site at a Walt Disney World Resort are treated to many amenities, including convenient transportation to the Disney Parks, free parking at the Parks if they choose to drive, MagicBands that unlock your room, and much more.
This is not much to say! Magic Bands were part of the plan last year. Transportation in the park between the hotels has always been provided. Free parking at the Parks??? And how much does it cost to park at the Hotels?
A couple years back there were deals on Hotel rates, during the off season, I have not seen that this year. The cost they save on the transportation from airport to the Hotels, is $$$ in Disney pockets.
The Disney Stock, which i invest in, is down more than $50 a share. The CEO is in hot water. The parks are overcrowded. More Hotels keep popping up on Disney Property. If Disney wants to keep stuffing people into the Parks, they need to add more parks, or expand the parks to accommodate the crowds. Just wait till Europe travelers come back to the USA and the parks will be unbearable to withstand the crowds. Perks for Hotel visitors??? Now with 25+ hotels on site, the park openings are extreme over packed. I remember back in 1992, when our family went to WDW, and there were 4 hotels and the 2 swan and dolphin hotels, and back then the parks seemed crowded. Now Disney is losing the Magic. (by the way, last trip was in Feb 2022) and prior 2020, and the 2022 trip costing 8k for 2 people (8 nights) is far beyond what the Disney Magic should be.
Disney keeps adding “partner hotels” to their list. These hotels are generally cheaper, more modern and many offer some sort of complimentary breakfast with a stay. Why would I want to stay at a Disney resort when they are “whitewashing” the resorts with each refurb, they cost much more per night, and don’t provide anything “complimentary”? Seems Disney would not want to help their competition.
