There’s quite a bit of traffic from CMs and Guest alike, wanting to share their upset and dismay for the recently signed ‘Dont Say Gay’ Law in Florida.
No, it does not say the word gay. It has nothing to do with being gay. It’s called the parental rights bill and it prohibits teachers in grades K-3rd from discussing sexual orientation or gender identity in the classroom. Most people that are against it, haven’t read the bill.
Why does Disney want to groom our small children.
I believe parents are calling to cancel their Disney vacations, as most of them in the fb Disney groups have said they were. I wish I hadn’t renewed my annual pass a few months ago.

Reason being, I have forethought and critical thinking skills, and, as such, I can see MANY situations where the bill, as written (because, you see, I read it) can be incredibly harmful to both children and teachers. Also, you call it grooming. Grooming for WHAT? To possibly “choose” to be gay at some point? This seems to stem from the fact that you all still seem to think being gay is a choice. Who would CHOOSE to be ostracized by people like you? Also, grooming requires intent to abuse (this is the legal definition). Telling a child gender fluidity exists out in the real world or explaining why suzy has 2 dads is not grooming nor abuse. It may be an issue under the law, though, due to the overly broad language (such as “classroom instruction” and “appropriate” which is subject to interpretation). You know where grooming and child abuse is ACTUALLY a problem? The CHURCH. Before you point fingers at non-issues maybe clean up your own yard.
In the meantime, we, and our children, will all enjoy Disney while your children all suffer for your small-minded world views.

Like myself, many of you may have noticed that every single time you call a company the first message you hear is, “Higher than usual call volume.” If this happens every time you call, it is not higher than usual, it is the usual volume. The company is just cutting costs by not hiring more phone operators. Disney is ruining their stellar customer service history by taking the cheap route that other companies are taking.

In 2008-10 Disney Reservations in Florida would turn off their phone lines whenever the call volume increased rather than offer overtime to handle each call. The powers that be would state even turning off the phones wouldn’t harm Disney due to their popularity. No matter what story is told about Disney, customers are seemingly turn a deaf ear to the reports. I left on good terms of my own choice, no sour grapes. However, Disney is not the happiest place on Earth as it was in its inception. It will be interesting to see this “movie” to its end.

1. Call response time has been insane for well over 2 years. Average wait time every time I call as s DVC member 70 plus minutes. Insane! So it’s not just about spring break.
2. This whole Florida law issue is insane. Disney needs to stay out of politics. Step back a moment. Think about it- y would ANY PARENT want any topic of sex, gender etc discussed at this age group.
I will tell you that DL the chat feature is a joke! I’ve gotten responses from right away to next day and one took over 3 days before they responded. Yet even when the CM reply’s your told to email customer relations! And don’t bother asking a CM at the park because they tell you things like not my problem, I don’t make the rules, etc. the things that I’ve mentioned are things that pre pandemic (under bob Igor) would have been handled right away. However it seems that the new Disney is shut up give us your money and don’t expect service or quality!
As a DVC member the average call wait time has been over 60 minutes. Clearly, Disney needs to hire more staff. They have totally lost the Magic and soon will begin lti loose customers.

Even though its routed overseas and the budget is miniscule compared to what they take in, cheap Bob Chapik doesn’t want to pay. Bob s take is to give people what they wanted but not what they expected, all at Disney prices. DIsney will be a 2nd rate company by the time Chapek is done.
Disney is experiencing incredible call volume and massive cancellations its going to have a significant impact on their Q2 and Q3 numbers.
If they get quiet again it might go away but if they put LBGTQ+ as a lead in a kids show it’s going to end very poorly. Domestically but as importantly globally. The world is much more conservative than people making 200k in NYC think it is.
Disney can’t hire more staff as they won’t raise there wage for call center employees to match what other companies are offering in the area ($20/hour). And they are probably losing staff as well because when call volume is so high at such a job the stress is also super high.
Disney is a mess with Cheapak at the helm – we are annual pass holders that will definitely not be renewing our passes. The old fast pass gave us the opportunity to visit the parks a couple of times a week while dining and now we never go thus they miss our revenue. To stand in line for 2 hours makes no sense!! While people are standing in line are they spending money and enjoying the experience? I think not – it used to be fun no more !! If you decide on a Disney World vacation plan on huge expense, long lines and frustration. Best yo go elsewhere

I’ve loved Disney for 20+ years each visit staying on property, but Disney has lost its way and until thins change sadly I will not return and favour Universal.
I begrudge paying over £1500.00 more than 2 years ago, and on top of this increase, many things that were included have either gone or are now chargeable. Its simply not worth it and I will not indulge in a Company hell bent on ripping you off.
This was going on before the Thanksgiving holiday in 2021. We made reservations a year in advance hoping COVID would be over. It was still going on but as we had 40 friends and family attending we moved forward. I spent more than 27+ hours trying to get any dinner reservations for any part of our group. Starting the 60 days prior according to their COVID guidelines. We managed to get 1 lunch reservation during our 10 day stay for 12 members. Except we were never informed it would be 3 tables of 4ppl not even close to one another. We had to have 1 adult at each table which caused the parents to have to split apart to eat lunch. Absolutely NO DISNEY MAGIC.
As for trying to get information about New Years Eve dinner plans they offered nothing and no help. We ended up renting a conference room at the hotel, having it catered and a bartender for the whole evening and no worrying about the kids running around as we had a private room we as a combined family group with more than 30 vacations to WDW will not be returning.
This has literally been the case since the parks reopened after the closures. This is NOT a new occurrence and it’s not related to any “politics”. Any shrieking witches on here stating otherwise are doing it for the DRAMATICS. Im guessing that the current incident at icon park (teen fell to his death) has people up in arms as well. We are up north, and there is lots of talk of cancelling season passes at Six Flags due to nationwide concerns over park safety. And inflation is not helping anything either. Did Disney in the 80s & 90s . Glad I got that out of my system. You couldn’t pay me to go to Magic Kingdom now.
Disney has a very good safety record and is packed, so I don’t think the incident at ICON has anything to do with it. And if you last went to WDW over twenty years ago, there’s a lot you have missed out on. Its more than just Magic Kingdom, four parks, two water parks, golf courses, a major shopping and entertainment area, hundreds of places to eat and more than 30 resorts plus festivals celebrating the arts, flowers, food and wine and the winter holidays at Epcot. Do stay away if that’s how you feel. More room for those who would be happy to be there.

We visited the 4 major Disney World parks in February. I have not been to a Disney park when it was so crowded, navigating through the new Genie + system, and waiting in long lines regardless! I do not care if we ever return to ‘The Magic of Disney’!
It’s simple. Hire more cast members. That’s why service is bad, food is bad and rides break down causing long lines. Not enough people to deal with things.
Why won’t Disney just stay away from these issues? They are in the entertainment business. Just entertain everyone. Don’t judge anyone, don’t prefer anyone, don’t cancel anyone, don’t take anyone’s side….

I just went to Disneyland with my family of five and the magic is just not there anymore it’s just horrible Park was not that great when I try to call the phone I waited for 45 minutes just to find out that it couldn’t answer my question and I couldn’t get the question answered on the app as well all I wanted to do was change my Park theme day from regular Disneyland to California Adventure cuz it was open and I couldn’t even do that I had to cancel my my tickets first and was told that I was not guaranteed the second Park so I left it as Disneyland for two days but she’s not what I wanted to doNor my family we didn’t have that great of a time my daughter’s birthday was this weekend she turned seven and she wasn’t even at excited you guys really need to revamp your what you doing there the park was dirty it was just not up to par the magic is just not there anymore it’s kind of sad I don’t feel like I’ll ever return and I love Disneyland

This has been going on for months now. Getting to talk to someone at guest services is harder than talking to someone on the phone at the DMV. Absolutely rediculous. I had to speak with someone once and when I didn’t get the automated message, it took over an hour for someone to pick up.

In 2008-10 Disney Reservations in Florida would turn off their phone lines whenever the call volume increased rather than offer overtime to handle each call. The powers that be would state even turning off the phones wouldn’t harm Disney due to their popularity. No matter what story is told about Disney, customers are seemingly turn a deaf ear to the reports. I left on good terms of my own choice, no sour grapes. However, Disney is not the happiest place on Earth as it was in its inception. It will be interesting to see this “movie” to its end.

I will tell you that DL the chat feature is a joke! I’ve gotten responses from right away to next day and one took over 3 days before they responded. Yet even when the CM reply’s your told to email customer relations! Disney is a mess with Cheapak at the helm – we are annual pass holders that will definitely not be renewing our passes. The old fast pass gave us the opportunity to visit the parks a couple of times a week while dining and now we never go thus they miss our revenue. To stand in line for 2 hours makes no sense!! While people are standing in line are they spending money and enjoying the experience? I think not – it used to be fun no more !! This was going on before the Thanksgiving holiday in 2021. We made reservations a year in advance hoping COVID would be over. It was still going on but as we had 40 friends and family attending we moved forward. I spent more than 27+ hours trying to get any dinner reservations for any part of our group. Starting the 60 days prior according to their COVID guidelines. We managed to get 1 lunch reservation during our 10 day stay for 12 members. Except we were never informed it would be 3 tables of 4ppl not even close to one another. We had to have 1 adult at each table which caused the parents to have to split apart to eat lunch. Absolutely NO DISNEY MAGIC.
As for trying to get information about New Years Eve dinner plans they offered nothing and no help. We ended up renting a conference room at the hotel, having it catered and a bartender for the whole evening and no worrying about the kids running around as we had a private room we as a combined family group with more than 30 vacations to WDW will not be returning.

Im guessing that the current incident at icon park (teen fell to his death) has people up in arms as well. We are up north, and there is lots of talk of cancelling season passes at Six Flags due to nationwide concerns over park safety. And inflation is not helping anything either. Did Disney in the 80s & 90s . Glad I got that out of my system. You couldn’t pay me to go to Magic Kingdom now.

Disney has a very good safety record and is packed, so I don’t think the incident at ICON has anything to do with it. And if you last went to WDW over twenty years ago, there’s a lot you have missed out on. Its more than just Magic Kingdom, four parks, two water parks, golf courses, a major shopping and entertainment area, hundreds of places to eat and more than 30 resorts plus festivals celebrating the arts, flowers, food and wine and the winter holidays at Epcot. Do stay away if that’s how you feel. More room for those who would be happy to be there.
