Well you know the old saying. “ a penny saved goes into Chapek’s pocket.”
It’s just unbelievable how Disney continues to gouge guests in every way possible while at the same time , not paying attention to the state of the resorts.
Typical. Prices go up, quality goes down. We aren’t willing to spend a lot of money for a vacation like that, only to have a lousy experience. We travel to Six Flags parks, and stay in very nice hotels near the parks. We’ve always had a great time!!!
My brother and I had this exact same problem at the Yacht Club in 2018. We were staying on the concierge level, and our AC and heater didn’t work. We were told by employees it was a known problem in that room in particular.
The manager lied and said they had no idea it was broken. The shower stall was broken, the wall paper was peeling. It was awful. They had no other rooms for us, so they bounced us to Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom had no concierge rooms available, even though we were told they did. They offered us two regular rooms instead, but Animal Kingdom rooms are incredibly stripped down.
We were then bounced to The Contemporary. They also didn’t have concierge rooms, so we got two adjoining rooms and a key card to get breakfast and snacks. But we didn’t have any access to the concierge by phone, since we were on a different level.
It was an awful experience. We were lied to repeatedly, and pushed off on other hotel managers to deal with. We contacted literally everyone we could to get it resolved. Disney just doesn’t seem to care anymore. It was our last trip to Disney World, even though we went every 2 years. No plans to return.
So sad that a once magical place is turned into a dissapointment world.
Greediness is the order of the day.
Yet the parks and hotels are in disrepair, one would think that part of the money they are getting would be used to maintain the quality of the facilities.
Well, now they are decreasing portion size and keeping the same prices of food because of concern of the people weight… Yes, that’s why…
Personally I’ve found calling or going to the front desk has minimal results. Responding to the welcome email ,text with my complaints has work well beyond my exceptations. Our last stay on check I sent management pictures, quick response. Hate to be picky but their hotels are the most expensive, they should be clean.
Same exact experience with beach club. We have stayed many times, and with each stay the rooms got worse and worse. We sent photos to everyone we could think of. Broken air, garbage on floor under vanity in bathroom, peeling paint, peeling wall paper, dirty carpet, last stay was in 2017 concierge level in 2019 no better. Disney never even responded to our emails.
We just stayed in the Animal Kingdom lodge. The room had many things that could have been fixed. The register cover was almost hanging off the furnace, there were dents and knicks everywhere, some mildew in the shower. When someone pays $400-800 a night for a hotel room, the rooms should be flawless.
I was just at this hotel 3 weeks ago. It was wonderful as always. I didn’t encounter any of the above issues. We visit Disney 3x a year and stay at various resorts. So far 2021 and 2022 has been wonderful…
