There is no doubt about the penny-pinching at Disneyland (and WDW), but when it comes to food it all depends on what you get.

Even a burger at one location may seem like a ripoff and is horrible, but at another location it could be a larger offering and taste great. You just have to know what to pick and choose. For Magic Key holders or any frequent guest you get to know that, but for folks who don’t g often you sort of take your chances.

My advice is to ask around, maybe of someone else you are standing in line with. There are so many choices so do a bit of research if you are planning a trip there.

Offended because of rising prices? Jeez. Rising costs are inevitable after 2 years of not much coming in due to Covid closures and restrictions…of course some things should be brought back, Magical Express, the Dining Plan as it was pre-pandemic…but rising costs are coming in all over the world. To be offended by it though, seriously, people need to grow a thicker skin and a backbone, there are things to be offended about, people getting killed for no reason, people not being allowed to live as they want, but being offended because food is a little bit pricey, give me a break!

Not much coming in but still enough for a record multi million dollar salary for Bob. How could that be if profits were down?

At least you don’t hide that your schlock is regurgitated Reddit posts.

I go to Disneyland for a lot of reasons. Food isn’t one of them. It’s a convenient perk but not the primary reason for going.

How about the non magical staff with crappy attitudes, the lack of cleaning in the parks, the lack of cleaning in the hotels and the overall craptacular attitude that abounds.

  6. Just as we should be thanking Disney for “helping us” watch our waistline, I guess we should be also thanking them for lightening our wallets. After all, who wants to do all that walking with a pocket full of heavy money.
Chapek is the problem. Walt said he wanted to build a place that the average American family could come and enjoy. I’m afraid Disney is no longer that kind of place. My family went last year and the experience was not the same, which we chalked up to the pandemic. We are going again this summer and I’m trying to stay positive, hoping that it is as magical as it’s always been, but reading about all the changes has me worried that after 25 years as a vacation club member, my family will be looking for a new vacation spot.

Does the Genie+ still include the photo package? If I remember, there used to be a cost to getting your photos from the in park photographer system.

    1. Mickey

NO… everything at Disney is a la cart

    2. Molly

Yes, just got back and Genie+ includes all in park photos and attraction photos.

    Disney has jumped the shark.

If you believe that Disney resorts/parks are overvalued for the price paid for everything….the solution is simple just don’t visit, there are many theme parks that offer better value.

Y’all are missing something. In years past, not Disney, if you went to a event, food truck, sporting event, concert, park, show, or something else that you viewed as below par, would you make excuses and return again and again. Unless you were rich or a masochist, you would not return. Currently more demand than supply. What will happen unless the ship changes course?

It would be nice if everyone would just STOP GOING instead of just complaining about it.

I’ve been every year for 15 years until the Pandemic. We planned to go in Nov and prices based on staying on resort had gone up $2,500 for 4 people for 7 days. It used to cost us $5000 but now it’s $7,500. We found we could go to Beaches Turks and Caicos for the same price and get unlimited drinks, scuba diving, and snorkeling. May never go back for those reasons alone.

The prices for admission is ridiculous. They are making it only for the mega rich and celebrities. It’s a shame. Even though they lost a lot of money during the pandemic, they still have money. They probably make a couple million per day in admission itself. Their constant increases are unjustified. I can see increases every 10 years or so but how about not spending billions buying other franchises and and keep the prices down for people who want to go and actually appreciate the fun there but can’t. I should have to spend a month wages just to get in the door. And I make pretty decent wages. (I’m not proposing for a marriage) I know costs have gone up for them too but I know they were always making a profit at the parks. (I’ve work with people on the inside and trust me. They get paid crap unless you are executives or a specialty job in maintenance or technical. And even those wages aren’t that great. )

Mega rich and celebrities?? What planet are you on? So the tens of millions that go every year are either mega rich or celebrities? If you can’t afford it don’t go very simple. Don’t moan because you don’t have the money.
