  1. For the last film they had the Emperor’s body cloned. Problem is he was still ugly and scarred. A clone wouldn’t have the scars of the original.

    1. Supernaut

He wasn’t ugly and scarred in 9 until he sucked the life force out of Kylo and Rey which doesn’t make sense any more.

      1. Katzz

They need to move away from the Skywalker Saga. There’s plenty more stories out there that need to be made.

        1. All of these 9-films are ONLY ABOUT THE SKYWALKER’S! Any set of new films obviously would have more chances to focus on other families.

      2. R

I see you’ve not watched Rise in a long time:

the clone body was ugly and scarred and deteriorating until he sucked the life out of the Dyad, and that’s when time rolls back for the clone body.

        1. There were many Emperor Palpatine clones in the Dark Horse comic series “Dark Empire”.

    2. R

It wasn’t scarred. The clone body was young after RotJ and during Mando season 1-2. By the time Kylo finds him the body is falling apart with bone finger tips and supported by a cybernetic marionette device. The body is older than the time of RotJ.

It’s also long been suggested pre Disney that Palpatine looked like RotJ the whole time in the prequels and Mace’s attack dropped the veil. This is supported in the Clone Wars cartoon where Sidious is like his Episode 356 self.

      1. Ripal

Except the current canon has explicitly confirmed Palpatine never had a mask & was genuinely disfigured when Mace reflected the lightning.

Also at no point during TCW is Palpatine seen with a scarred face, and only appears as such in The Bad Batch, post-Order 66.

        1. The Emperor’s face was only masked be the Darkside of the force. When Mace Window burned away the illusion of his appearance, we could finally see what he actually looked like

          1. Ripal

Incorrect. Canon no longer has the dark side causing physical deterioration to a person’s natural body.

It is explicitly stated in lore that Palpatine looked like a normal person prior to taking his own lightning, where he was then disfigured. That can be quoted verbatim.

    3. That was the bodies response to the over saturation of evil.

In time, a clone of the Emperor would look exactly the same.

  2. Good to know you can slaughter billions of people and say,”I’m sorry “ and become a Jedi saint.
You can’t kill billions, then save billions and say that evens everything out. That’s not how I believe God’s Judgment will work. The good we do doesn’t cancel the evil we do, and the evil we do doesn’t cancel the good.

    1. R

God’s judgement doesn’t apply to Star Wars fantasy and it’s not guaranteed IRL either

      1. Chris Ferguson

Gods judgement isn’t guaranteed because he doesn’t exist. Feel free to prove me wrong by providing some EVIDENCE

    2. Collin

Then what’s the point of forgiveness and mercy, might I ask? If not everyone can be saved, what’s the point? I’m not even a diehard Christian, but you look really bad saying that stuff, just saying lol

    3. Jerry

God – has zero to do with any of this.

What billions of people did Vader slaughter? I’m not saying he wasn’t evil, but billions? If you mean the death star – that wasn’t his ship and he wasn’t commanding it. He wasn’t even fond if it (technological terror, remember?). It was insignificant, his own words. Though he was complicit by being there, he wasn’t the technically the killer.

      1. Ripal

Maybe not billions, but Vader’s kill count is at least several thousand.

Dozens of Jedi, as well as numerous civilians post-RotS, which are highlighted in the canon novels & comics.

In pursuit of a Jedi master, Vader willingly drowned an entire city of people.

      2. All of these 9-films are ONLY ABOUT THE SKYWALKER’S! Any set of new films obviously would have more chances to focus on other families.

    4. Meltiggeer

      Dude 2 things:
1)This is SW universe not ours. Don’t mix fantasy with RL.
2)God’s judgment starts with do you believe in Jesus as Christ. From there judgment is different for Christians and non. First is the separation than Christians have the White throne judgement. If anyone wants more info just ask.
      Back to Disney business.

  3. Supernaut

How does Anakin returning after 6 as a force ghost “discombobulate” anything…? Everyone knows Anakin comes back as a force ghost, he was in Return of the Jedi as a force ghost. Why would he not hang arlund when all the other ghosts did…? Obi-Wan and Yoda returned as force ghosts, that didn’t take away from their deaths either. Everybody acts like babies whenever Lucasfilm reveals something that fans weren’t expecting. Like when people got butthurt when they heard Obi-Wan and Vader fought before A New Hope. They aren’t “retconning” anything when they’re just adding onto the story.

    1. R

Exactly. Even in ANH Vader said for decades Obi “should not have returned” to the Death Star and that “when they last fought, he wasn’t the Master”. In RotS Vader wasn’t the apprentice at all so this is just filling gaps. It’s probably saying Vader was the Sith apprentice and in his hubris on 4 he’s a Sith master.

      1. Robert "Ironman" Downey

Technically, the line Vader used was:
“When I left you, I was but the learner….now I am the MASTER”
There was zero indication of a prior confrontation. If we are all going to get nerdy butthurt, at least keep it legit lol

  4. Lucho

It’s a mess, and you know it. The fact adding more to the Force ghosts is just stupid and bad writing. If they can actually fight, why they didn’t in prior movies? Because It’s stupid.
The only people who acts like “babies” are the one that keeps defending bad writing….

    1. R

This bad writing was in episode 4, 6, 1-3. Why’s it a problem just due to sequels having it?

As for why they didn’t fight before: the book isn’t out but the excerpt suggests this is a Force vision.

Why you upset over bad writing consistently being a Star Wars feature?

      1. Kevin

LOL! You think Episode 4’s writing was bad. If it wasn’t for that “bad writing” you would be stuck with boring sci-fi movies like 2001. Anything you have to say now is null and void.

        1. MuTru

It’s well-documented that Lucas is a horrible writer and plotter, and that Episode 4 was fixed by the actors and other crew.

          1. Mariko

Having read all 4 drafts of what became Episode 4. I can equivocally say at that point in time Lucas was a great writer. He used a lot of jargon and could be over indulgent at times. But, all 4 drafts were quite structurally sound, and excellent pulp space opera. It wasn’t until he got to the prequels that things became a mess.

          2. Kevin

Episode 4 redefined what sci fi movies could be specifically and revolutionized cinema as a whole. Episodes 7-9: largely forgettable, incoherent messes. The end.

        2. The trutthe truth

Star Wars is not science fiction.

      2. King

Episode 4 and 5 especially did NOT have bad writing. What a moronic comment.

  5. R

OP is ignorant of multiple SW facts.

The opening of Rise has long been established as Mustafar. The movie immediately after the somehow line, and upon release, confirm Palpatine on Exegol is a clone. Vader visits Exegol soon after ESB duel with Luke. Luke’s hand is on it suggesting Rey’s dad and Snoke use Luke DNA. Fans aren’t obsessed with Ben returning. Force ghosts came back in never canon legends. Luke’s possibly having a Force vision about Exegol as the excerpt reveals because he’s on the Mando SOS stone Grogu had used a few years previously. George’s second and accepted Sequel draft was the one where Luke’s in exile. If Leis could be the new Chosen One in Lucas’ discarded draft, it’s even possible Rey’s the new one in the sequels.

OP is stuck in SW history from 3 years ago lol

    1. Kevin

Stop defending Disney’s crappy novel tie ins cash grab. Also, If you have to put that much extra explanation into a movie or trilogy of movies then the movies can’t stand on their own and are complete garbage. Most people don’t want to have to read 10 novels and 4 comic book series to get what is going on in a movie.

      1. The truth

…And yet after 2 seasons we still don’t know what muppet baby’s use in Mandalorian is, apart from looking adorable while Mando goes out to do the story himself.

      2. Jason Ronald Richter

Please, ghe prequels wod still be roundly despised if it weren’t for being fleshed out in novels, and the Clone Wars series. They were awful as stand alones. Bad dialog, acting, etc. Good overall story, though. The sequels have the opposite problem, decent writing, acting, lack of overall story.

    2. King

This guy is such an apologist. This trilogy was an utter mess, period. At least the prequel trilogy was chock-full of iconic Star Wars characters and designs. Not to mention an actual consistent plot thread running through all three films.

  6. Amber

    Bring back Anakin please

  7. Steve3PO

You mean rent on the prequels, right?

  8. Mason

Now we wait for the entire original trilogy being rewritten.Where Leia and Luke switch places and Han Solo is Hannah Solo.

    1. notfound

      Why?

    2. Jdawg

      Lmao!!!

  9. MuTru

Agreed. If those excerpts are representative, the writing is crap.

  10. Lmao

What and absolute trainwreck of an article. Where do you find these writers??

    1. Pocho Villa

That’s what they’re doing with Indiana Jones. At the end of Indy 5, toxic White male will be replaced with Indiannah Joan.

      1. Sean

Thank you! I thought I accidentally ate some magic mushrooms before reading this article. So much made no sense and the whole thing was poorly written.

        1. Hunt Mike

Not sure how you haven’t heard of a “sith user” before now.

      2. Jobuh D Hunt

        But… but.. that’s what the fans want… isn’t it? 🤔

  11. Jerry

I’m all for it. More Luke is good. Anakin out of nowhere is better. Anything that thwarts the ST is awesome. If this steers to a divergent timeline, that’s the best possible outcome, however unlikely that is…

  12. Original JB

What a turd they’ve turned this saga into.

  13. Timothy Shaw

I think the article misses a big point, namely George Lucas sold his soul, story, baby—whatever you want to call it—so whatever Disney does/doesn’t do with it is entirely their business (quite literally) and no longer his.

    1. Dijango Felt

      Exactly

  14. Git

Has this writer ever seen a Star Wars movie? “death star-like star destroyers”? “Sith users”? It’s like the writer was given the article with no familiarity with the subject, and researched it whilst writing the article and watching TV.

    1. Phill

      Yep, and also, who’s
this “Ray Parker” that supposedly played Darth Maul? I know his son wrote the Ghostbusters theme song lol

  15. Steve Kelem

I’d like to see that picture of Darth Anakin animated too show Darth playing that harmonica… Playing “A Very Merry Unbirthday To You”!

  16. Emily Ledbetter

It’s been established that Force ghosts can effect the physical world, that Anakin is one, and that he visited Luke between the OT and ST. Maybe not in canon with the last one, but there’s prior material covering the idea. Also, there was more to that excerpt that was released and it made it pretty clear that these wraiths Luke was facing were not entirely physical beings. Either the whole thing is a vision, or he was fighting Dark Side spirits. It wasn’t just that he was outnumbered and for some reason couldn’t even beat one of those 9. No, he landed plenty of attacks on them, but they passed right through them. He defended himself for quite some time, but unlike these spirits, he has a body that can get tired. It makes sense then that only a Light Side Force ghost would be able to beat them.

  17. Babo Teff

So just my two cents, but if Lucus didn’t want the story changed he shouldn’t have sold it to Disney.

    1. Mike Hunt

Keep the change ya filthy animal..

  18. jim

WhatWhat happened to Ray no one has said anything about where did she go where did she go at the end take on the training you should continue her story

  19. Jimmy Wade

I have been a Star Wars fan since the very first movie, I have read about 75% of the Star Wars books, Disney has screwed everything thing by stating that the books are not canon, excuse me, but those books and movies were done before they came along. This tripe about the new gen of Star Wars fans is garbage, the new”fans” wouldn’t even know about the Star Wars world if it wasn’t for us older fans like myself. Disney needs to get back to the basics and what George Lucas wanted done with the characters. Read the books people and you’ll see what I am saying.

  20. Adam

“Now, with rumors that Pascal’s fan-favorite character is set to make his return to the Star Wars franchise in Morrison and Wen’s Mandalorian spinoff, The Book of Boba Fett, it seems that Star Wars fans might also be getting their first look at the bounty hunter’s new ship.”

Rumors? Book of Boba Fett aired almost two months ago.

  21. Jake

Can we just agree that anything Disney owns is going to be all play it safe mediocrity?
