Disney changed it’s policy about employees having beards. So now the gravedigger can have a beard, too. It probably helps keep his face warm in that cold graveyard.

I’ve noticed sense they went back to the original version the hitch hiking ghost don’t appear at the end anymore.

I was there during Valentine’s Sweetheart Nite and a Dream Key holder I usually go once a week but haven’t been since Valentine’s. I did t notice the beard but did notice there were no ghosts to follow you home. That’s always been one of my favorite parts, to see which ghost I would get.

For a second I thought you were going to say they changed the gender or race. Tends to be the trend these days.

  2. I think they’re just keeping up with the times and men having beards is hot right now. No, I didn’t notice that (I always feel sorry for the dog!) but i DID notice the missing hitch hiking ghosts at the end. I just pretended that my pal was the ghost. (Smiles!)

Wonder how long it will be for the ‘woke’ crowd to start screaming for the ride to be cancelled and torn down since it’s based on an antebellum mansion and the antebellum time in history.

Try getting laid instead of being a little cry baby waaah wahhh all I here is “ Kevin gets no pu**y”

As a virgin I am insulted by your comment.

Is that why you’re crying just as hard??

    2. Shouldn’t he and his Dog be GHOST by now?

Mansion opened August of 1969…so less than 53 years ago…depending on how old gravedigger was originally, he could very well still be alive…just pretty old…😉

Dog would not sadly have fared as well…but might not be same one lol!

Hi, Twitter says that one of the photos is WDW & the other Disneyland with the gravedigger still clean shaven.

    1. CJ

      Kayla is almost correct 👍🏻

      Silas Crump is his name

Being the Groundskeeper (aka Caretaker) is his game

      The Haunted Mansion’s Cemetery

(no ghosts to follow you home? that’s boring!)

In the Disney Tokyo Haunted Mansion

Silas Crumb is younger (he has brown / ginger hair with sideburns and a beard)

      In Disneyland and Magic Kingdom

Silas Crumb has grey hair and is clean shaven

      Caretaker’s Dog is very skinny

He has brownish-red fur, forever a loyal pet

He stays by Silas Crumb’s side on duty

I was just on the ride at WDW last week and he had no beard then.

Look, if you’ve been terrified, with no food, in a graveyard for decades – eventuality facial hair will grow. 😛 lol

Side note – why does this site have so many ads now? It makes reading these articles a little insufferable – which is sad because I generally like this site.

Disney world and Disney land are nothing more then over priced tourist traps and their morals and values have changed in the last 20 years when they started they were a wholesome family oriented company now they are. Very liberal and all inclusive accepting lgbht and other non traditional lifestyles as normal and trying to add them to their films and cartoons to make people think it is acceptable but it is not and I doubt old Walt would go along with his families decision to make Disney
The kind of place that make traditional families not want to visit the most un happyist place on earth

    1. kindness matters only when you agree with me

Maybe you should follow your own advice instead of attacking somebody who might not agree with 100% of everything you do.

      1. Kindness matters

I’m not the one doing the attacking here, I was just saying that this is 2022 & that this forum is not the place to voice your antiquated points of view, what’s next they should not allow the mentally challenged in because it might offend you?

    2. How about mental health

You know, this isn’t about “kindness” this is about MENTAL HEALTH! It is continually touted that the LGBTWIDEGEHYYWW+ community has such high suicide rates due to “lack of inclusion” but how about taking a look at this not being due to exclusion and, instead, about their poor mental health? Nothing is normal about thinking that you are a dude when you were born with a vag. Just sayin’… America went the wrong way on this one. I always felt like I should have been a bird because of how much I like to be free. You don’t see me demanding that the medical community turn my arms into wings or demanding that I not get arrested for crapping on vehicles in the Target parking lot… Because I AM MENTALLY STABLE!

    HATBOX GHOST,
    Good Lord!
    Watch your mouth… er text.
    Where are the sensors here?
Whatever happened to the good ol fun Disney? Please, c’mon let’s try to make it happy again or at least do our part by being decent to one another!
This ITM gets really negative and allows non
    magical stuff on here!! Ha.
Comment on what you see sure but, no one has to get nasty.
Your words don’t offend me but, putting them on anything Disney doesn’t help at all.

The beard is ok..but its sticking straight out and you can see all the shiny glue all over his cheeks. I think a child could have glued it on better and with more care. It is so disappointing to see.
