Attractions should be upgraded not Neutered(in this case literally). Including characters from the movies or more ethnically(as long as historically correct) inclusive pirates is fine. Removing parts of the animatronics, or a character because of a(proved unjustified) view of the actor that portrayed it, is actually a contradiction to the alleged view of the ultra-liberals that are causing these sort of changes. Tweaking it to be PC diluted some of the fun and realism of the original version.
However, if Disney’s intention is to totally revamp the ride then PLEASE use the Pirates of the Caribbean absolutely awesome, incredibly awesome, extremely realistic ride at the Shanghai Disney Resort. We were lucky enough to be able to go there 12 days after Shanghai Disney opened and were totally blown away at how realistic it was due to cutting edge technology…. the ship’s heart-stopping movements, the actual feeling of being in a massive storm, sinking down into a whirlpool.

Leave the ride contents alone! What does need to be done is that the WDW version needs to be made exactly like the ride is at Disneyland! The PotC ride at Disneyland is so much better (with the extra dark drops!) PLUS, it has the Blue Bayou Restaurant right there in the start of the ride. WDW needs to have their version of the ride set up like the one at Disneyland!!!!!!
I LOVE the Original scenes. Please don’t change the bayou or the ships facing off with cannon fire. As a kid and now I remember this as the most imaginative ride ever. My favorite of any park and of any ride. Add more cannon fire or maybe have it stop there and make it feel like we r gonna sink cause we were hit. I saw some Jack Sparrow add on’s in Florida. All the changes and things being built especially in Orlando the new hotels and all I don’t believe would’ve been Walt’s vision. Many of the changes to the original rides is sad. I enjoy the new stuff but keep the original ones original. It’s to a point that the park is unenjoyable due to the crowds. It’s almost like a job to even visit the park and having to make stupid reservations I hate. That spur of the moment trip nope not happening.

I’m a woman, quite conservative and yet… can’t find the “grotesque” in here. Been in that ride lots of times, one of my favs and yet, never saw it focused on the “bulge”. It was nothing the public has ever seen in the ride. The changes were made in 1965 or 1966 PRIOR to the opening of the ride. The costuming was not fitting correctly on the animatronics, so the excess was cut off to make it look better.

I was extremely disappointed when we went to Disney world last and found that they changed it to the movie pirates of the Caribbean. The original of what it made it so special. Why change something that’s working absolutely amazing into something that we can just see on a movie. That’s absolutely ridiculous I can’t believe you’re doing this. I took my boys almost five times and still as an adult I go with my husband and that was the most disappointing thing. Every time I think about it I keep thinking they would just put it back to the way it was it was my favorite thing to see there. Why change what’s not broken?

Common people, be realistic about the Disney rides, if you are so offended by what you see in these rides, then don’t go in them and stay away. I’ve been a regular on Pirates for a long-long time. I used to love it, it was funny and there was so much to see. Anymore, I find myself more annoyed than anything else when on it, so we’ve been skipping it during our visits to Disneyland. The mishmash of old and new doesn’t flow well and the PC crap ruined it. I’d like to see the ride restored to the original plan or completely gutted. Changing what was already perfect made it a mediocre mess that has no storyline as it used to. I think Johnny Depp should still be a part of the prates of the Caribbean. He really made Jack Sparrow the character that he is. He has made all if it what it is. It will not be the same without him.

I LOVE the Original scenes. Please don’t change the bayou or the ships facing off with cannon fire. As a kid and now I remember this as the most imaginative ride ever. All the changes and things being built especially in Orlando the new hotels and all I don’t believe would’ve been Walt’s vision. Many of the changes to the original rides is sad. I enjoy the new stuff but keep the original ones original. It’s to a point that the park is unenjoyable due to the crowds. I was extremely disappointed when we went to Disney world last and found that they changed it to the movie pirates of the Caribbean. The original of what it made it so special. Walt Disney created a magical place. It has been that way for over 50 years. Who are you people to change it? Why didn’t you do it when his daughter was still alive? Because she wouldn’t have gone for it that’s why! Do you all think you can create better rides than what has been there all these years? Won’t be attending Disneyland with my family until Disney wakes up. We have now cancelled what we thought was a family friendly service and the continuing absurdity of their wokeness disgusts me. I will not let Disney teach my kids what is right and wrong. They literally now want to cut our appendages off to fit into their non binary agendas.
