I was at the Diana Ross concert and was appalled by the lowlifes that booed. Ms. Ross was very obviously concerned about her health and contracting COVID. She several times tried to wear a mask herself but found the sound was not to her liking and removed it FOR THE CROWDS pleasure. She is the best of the best and to be so stupid is not forgivable. Florida, the state with no common sense and a governor with no sense.

    1. John

You could have stayed home. I pay to hear them sing not their opinion. Just bow down to your lord zod and lick his boots

      1. Jane

You also could have stayed home. Don’t like an opinion? Then maybe stay home so you don’t have to hear it. Freedom of speech my friend

      2. JC

For someone named after one who has to pay for sex or a toilet you sure exhibit the same energy

      3. Ricky

I agree. And if she was offended, oh well. I’d rather the performers who still believe this hoax stay home and let other performers who aren’t sheep or loyal followers of fauci come perform. It’s been 2 years now people, how much longer are you going to be controlled?

        1. Dave

@Ricky… Ricky, you idiot, dont you see the world is laughing at you anti-maskers. You go and talk to the families who has loved ones die from COVID, and then come back and let us know it was a hoax or not. It’s truly ridiculous where you get your delusions from, like you seem to know more than the rest of the world. What an appalling person you are to call people sheep who wanna protect their lives and others by wearing masks. Please go sit down and keep your damn opinions to yourself.

          1. Horray! I vote for your opinion Dave

    2. Sabrina

If she is so concerned about people health why not asking the people to avoid sugar or even intercourse? I think she was trying to virtue signaling. Like most of the old artist ( try to stay relevant i guess ) and the new generations don’t know or care much about.

      1. Mike

Hahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! LGBFJB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU WHERE PREFORMING FOR LESS THEN 200 PEOPLE LET THAT SINK IN.

    3. Chris Wood

Well now Diana Ross knows how the little people feel about not wanting to wear them either. I agree with one of the remarks some said. These celebrities are there to sing and entertain, not tell us what they want or their opinions. Funny how all these celebrities are for mandates, but the visit states that don’t require them and walk around without them, yet preaching to us to wear them. Miss Ross showed up to sing at this concert knowing full well its going crowded. If she was so worried, then she could have pulled an Adel and canceled the day bfore. The visitors would have survived.

      1. Kelly

Freedom of speech works both ways not just when it’s relevant to your opinion. You can disagree all you want but just remember when you take that right away from others you are taking it from yourself too.

    4. Kelly

Very well said. I have even more respect for her she cared about our health too. I’m ashamed of this state but I blame our cult leader governor for it.

      1. Albert Trump

        Move commie

        1. Kelly

Nope me and people like me are going to VOTE instead. That’s what you do when something is broken, you fix it.

      2. Terry Trefry

Universal makes the rules for their events. Freedom of speech has nothing to do with it. She should have not agreed to perform and people like you could choose to not attend if you do not like the rules. And this country is already suffering from how people like you vote.

      3. Paulo

        Then move out

    5. Mario

Oh please if she was worried why would she be at large public gatherings. She is nobody to tell people what to wear.

    6. Jarvis

She just wanted everyone to know she is a Detroit Democrat. Therefore the napkin and elastic is part of their symbolism. Nothing to do with health or safety, just politics. And wokeness.

      1. Diane

@Jarvis, if labeling someone as a Democrat (which to you must be a bad thing for some reason) means to preserve life, then so be it. The Republicans are so far gone right now, the entire world is making fun of them and their cult leader and his lying lawyers. But you do what you wanna do and believe the Don if you want. And meanwhile dont forget all the people that died because of that orange goon, because he drilled this anti-mask B.S. into your fragile minds and you’re not smart enough to use real facts in your thoughts and arguments.

    7. R

@ if she was that concerned for her health she should have stayed home. Our rights and health does not end where her fear begins.

    8. Mtnlaurel

Of course she wanted people to wear a mask. She’s in the higher risk group because of her age. I’m sure she didn’t want to disappoint the fans. She tried to wear a mask, but she found that people couldn’t hear her. OMG people.

    9. Lulubell B

I totally agree. I just found this article from Google. She is only watching out for her and probably even family.. ( infants ) I applaud her! We know what she looks like, we know what she sounds like, her protection is more important. If she is scheduled to be somewhere, she has to be there, mask or not. If her fans really loved her, they wouldn’t mind her wearing a mask. As an older woman my doctor has told me to keep wearing masks even tho I am Vaxxed, she should too!

      1. Cindy

Right because the vaccined don’t work.

    10. Lp

She should have skipped the invoice and the paycheck if she is so so so worried and concerned

    11. Trent

Not our fault Diana Ross is misinformed.

    12. Deborah

Thank you for your statement about the way they treated Ms. Diana Ross. She is a lady and should be treated as one. I agreee with you 100%

  2. Jorge

I didn’t booed but I almost left. She even told her backup singer to wear a mask like please. This is Florida not Cali or NY.

    1. Lynda Braddeley

Guess someone wants theme parks to close again

      1. Jim

I wasn’t there and wouldn’t have booed her if I had been, but I would have walked out and demanded a refund for my ticket. If I had been there I would have paid for a concert not a lecture on following an outdated narrative. When you take a job, you follow the guidelines that work location is using. Universal made masks optional, so she shouldn’t be harassing guests about it. If she couldn’t agree with that, she should have cancelled. If a regular team member was doing that, they would be reprimanded or fired. Another example of celebrities using their status to push their opinions where they shouldn’t be.

        1. JC

Refund? Its a free concert you dolt

        2. Frank

Artists are entertainment, not leaders that enact policies. She is free to wear whatever shewants but has no right to demand anything from anyone else. As consumers we have the right to pay for services and demand they be fulfilled. Don’t preach to me just do what I paid you to do!! Simple as that!!

        3. Priscilla

Well you’re an idiot it’s a free concert with your entry to Universal obviously you’ve never been there

        4. Jen

          A few things:
          1. The concert is free. As long as you pay for a pass to come in the universal.
          2. She is a bit older and just wanted to be safe. As you know the older u are the harder it is to fight viruses etc.
          3. Universal doesn’t require you to mask up outside, but to get on rides, regardless of your vaccine status you must wear a mask.

          1. Robert Crawford

If she’s that worried, she should have stayed home.

      2. Mario

Why would they close the parks again?

    2. UberChemist

      Sing or GTFO!

    3. John

So much hatred when she is just concerned for public health, our country has sunk to a new low.

      1. Cindy

People are sick of the elite and the double standard they preach.

    4. Priscilla

Freedom of speech she had her comments we had our comments. Move on!!!!
I figure the more people that drop dead the better for our environment!!

      1. Tt

If you call $115.00 to get in the park free….ok. dolt? Really? I guess it takes one to know one.

      2. Witchy

Say Hello to payback karma.. You being happy someone will drop dead, really means it will be from your own group of loved ones the death will come from…. You said it, its out there, no take backs… Enjoy your new environment, less one….

    5. Steven

      You are an idiot.

  3. Dan

She could have just stayed home, but I’m guessing she wanted the money. She is a singer, just sing. Her opinion, and the opinion of the writer are irrelevant when it comes to personal health. Thank heaven for states like Florida.

    1. Lynda Braddeley

So her opinion and request to keep herself and her fans safe is irrelevant. I’m guessing that if she had cancelled the show the maskless crowd would have thrown a mass tantrum.

      1. Chris Wood

Yawn! She knew where she was going and that it would be crowded.

      2. Ellie

They probably would have or even turned violent. There’s no knowing what these people are capable of.

        1. Rob Crawford

          Who are “these people”?

What evidence is there they’d be violent?

How much of your comment is rooted in bigotry?

          1. Terry Trefry

            Or complete ignorancr.

      3. John

She’s entitled to her opinion, but the cloth masks do not keep people safe from Covid. The CDC and literally every extremely left leaning outlet had communicated this. If you aren’t accepting that fact, this is on you. Not ppl who don’t want to wear compliance masks.

      4. Rodger

They wouldn’t have thrown a mass tantrum they would have been going about their business like they do every other night of Mardi gras. While she isn’t irrelevant herself, the idea of asking people to wear a mask is. It’s been two years now and they haven’t stopped anything like we were told they would in the beginning. If the people there want to wear a mask they can, if they didn’t have one on it’s because they choose not to.

    2. Trump is Zaddy

Yes, thank God for states like Florida for letting idiots take themselves out everyday. PLEASE, never wear a mask and don’t go to the hospital when you catch the “flu”. You know they’re killing people there 😉

  4. Sabrina

I’m only know Diana Ross is a singer and i am not familiar with her songs but any musician should respect their audience and just perform.

    1. JC

You’re probably a trash person who doesn’t tip wait staff because “they’re just doing their job”

      1. Drew

So your definition of a “trash person” is someone who doesn’t agree with your narrow views? The fact is there are large groups, probably at least 50%, that don’t agree with your views. Your attempt to marginalize, demean, and make assumptions, about them says far more about you. There’s an old saying about assuming, you should try to remember it. Your attempts to cancel others thoughts and opinions is a poor reflection of freedom and the exercise of free speech. Entertainers know in advance and make the choice on whether to perform. Whether people boo or cheer is not relevant to their socioeconomic standing but to their own opinions on good or bad.

        1. R

          @ drew 👍👏👏😄

  5. Phoebe L Ho

She does not need to perform for people like that. And anyone who ignores simple rules to keep other people safe doesn’t need to go to a concert.

    1. UberChemist

Hey Fuerer Phoebe, Universal dropped the pointless mask mandate. Thank God there’s only a few holdouts demanding useless masks. Go be flight attendant if you want enjoy the last days of your ego trip. The rest of us enjoy breathing freely again. Ms. Ross is lucky she only got booed.

      1. Kelly

Is that a threat? You cult worshippers are so violent. It’s a piece of fabric she didn’t ask you to get the “jab” grow up.

        1. Nick

Threat? What threat? Here’s a hint, if you have to ask “is that a threat?”, then it’s not a threat.
And, UberChemist responded to Phoebe noting that Universal no longer has a mask policy, etc. no threat there, certainly not to you.
Also, Phoebe is incorrect in her assertion that Ross “doesn’t need to perform for people like that”. She does if she doesn’t want to be sued for breach of contract. Again, the people at the concert were not wearing masks because there was no requirement to wear masks. It’s called “freedom”, it’s a pretty simple concept that is constantly in danger of disappearing.

      2. JC

You love picking on women from behind a keyboard but you’d probably cower if you saw a woman in real life 😭😭😭

      3. Q

Hey Grandpa, your dementia is acting up again. Should probably lay off the copium.

      4. Jen

Not true. You are free to be maskless outside. You cannot get on rides without a mask…

        1. Terry Trefry

ignorance. Concert is not considered a ride…..

    2. JT

What rules? Universal just dropped their mask mandates. There is no rule in FL. Maybe singers need to leave their politics at home and just do what they are paid to do….sing. Leave the politics out if it.

      1. John

No rules but she can still kindly ask you to wear a mask for your and her safety. She asked very nicely and got booed. Extremely disrespectful. Keep your politics out of science how about that

        1. John

Ppl wearing cloth compliance masks do nothing to keep her safe. This is a fact at this point. Confirmed by the CDC and pretty much every medical authority in the world.

  6. Amy

Celebrities are not gods that we have to respect. I don’t care what kind of supposed “legend” she is. She was paid to do a job, not be a puppet for lying lord Fauci. Sing or get off the stage, pretty simple.

    1. Cindy

Exactly. Besides, she was outside and the crowd was over six feet from her, so what is her problem. Worried about the crowd, it’s our decision to mask or not mask, the same as to vax or not to vax. If you are vaxxed, what is your problem. Don’t you believe in the Biden/faucet administration?

      1. Cindy

        Fauci

  7. Aaron

You know what else is rude? Telling people to wear a mask, especially outside, because you are a scared little sheep. She deserved the booing for treating her fans like children.
And calling Diana Ross a legend is a bit of a stretch.

    1. Bob Jones

She very nicely ASKED people to wear a mask and gave a good reason for it but she didn’t demand you to.

    2. Pam

Aaron. How old are you? This is not the point of this silly argument, but she is definately a Legend of her time. And trust me I’m old enough to know that for the fact it is. And OK, ppl resume the bickering.

    3. StupidRepliesForStupidPeople

You seem incredibly stupid with this comment, in more ways than one. Should probably know what you’re talking about before you go into “big boy keyboard warrior” mode. You’ve invalidated your own words by showing your ignorance

  8. TMF

Wasn’t Diana Ross away from the crowd, on the stage???? Just when I think masks aren’t pointless enough!…. nevermind OUTSIDE in the fresh air!…..nevermind when she wasn’t even in the crowd!…. nevermind that masks don’t work unless you’re a medical worker who is FITTED for a sealed N95 mask at your place of employment!!!!……yet another almighty celeb comes along who wants to tell us little people what to do while not doing so herself! Who cares if we hear her or any of these pompous fake sheep ever sing again in person!!!! We have lots of streaming services now!

  9. Bob Jones

I was there and I felt is was extremely disrespectful that they booed her when she very nicely asked people to wear a mask after sharing that she hadn’t seen her grandchildren in almost 2 years and that she had to stay away from her bass section since they were unable to wear a mask. She was just trying to be safe at her first show since the pandemic. I was even more disgusted when a man near me yelled “this is fluriduh” when she asked people to wear a mask. If your grandmother asked you to wear a mask you wouldn’t? So disrespectful. I’m so appalled by this state I’m ashamed to live here.

    1. Marcos Robinson

BOB, please move to another state then.

If Diana is still afraid of Covid, she needs to stay home and watch msnbc.

    2. Chris B

Go move to the liberal states that demand you wear a mask. You dont even deserve to live in Florida.

      1. Cali

        Marcos and Chris B 👏👏🙌 💯💯

    3. Stacey

There were photos of almost her entire family at a Christmas celebration. She has seen them.

    4. Rob Crawford

Why does she hate her grandchildren that much? Hasn’t she gotten vaccinated?

If she’s that terrified, she doesn’t have to perform. It’s not like she’s had a life of low-wage jobs and still needs to work.

  10. Ronald Paladino

Hey Bob Jones if my Grandmother asked me to wear a mask. I would laugh and tell her to stop watching the news. I have visited Florida from my disgusting home State of New York multiple times since the scare tactics have begun. Florida is free and if you are a scared sheep you shouldn’t be visiting a Theme Park and my guess is you haven’t, you are a troll. And as for Dianna Ross?, she is a troll also. She can visit Florida and play for a crowd but can’t see her grandchildren?

  11. HeyItsAdam

So you’re saying kiss their rear ends so they’ll bless us with their presence again.

I dropped my Disney passes for Universal because of Disney’s ridiculous nonsensical and illogical mask policy. This is Freedom Florida. If you don’t like it, go back to your blue state s-hole.

  12. M Ellis

I love how the article state that:
“ Guests should remember that musical talents such as Diana Ross must agree to perform at Universal during the Mardi Gras festival, and mistreatment like this will leave Universal with a less than desirable appeal for not only Diana Ross in the future, but other artists who will catch wind of the treatment as well.”

Really? Well the guests can put their money where their pockets is and not go to pay for a lecture in mask wearing. she darn well knew the venue does not require masks. Florida does not mandate masks. Go home to your state and don’t squat on ours if you take issue. Don’t come to our state and spew your garbage please and thanks.

    1. Cindy

sugar ray didn’t ask the crowd to wear a mask when he performed the week prior. He has more class than this “entitled Legend”.

  13. Jared Harris

Alyssa get real. Diana Ross knew all about Covid when she accepted the contract to perform at Universal Orlando. She couldn’t seriously expect guests to be masked outside. If she was that concerned, she shouldn’t have agreed to perform.

  14. Chris B

Nothing like elitistswanting the common people to wear masks yet the same elitists dont ask their fellow buddies to wear a mask at the superbowl. And for the ones who want to defend celebrities whats wrong with you? Why defend people who dont really care about you?

    1. Cindy

You mean the people who refuse to wear a mask? They clearly don’t care about me or my family or anyone else. Me me me is all you people care about.

      1. 70M C4T

You got it. Why should we give 2 sheets about you especially when you hate us? Sheep are made to be sheared not listened to.

      2. Brad

Lmao… Cindy. Your comment is all about you, you ,you and not caring about someone else’s perspective. You have 3 choices… 1,If your so scared, stay home. Your fear is not others responsibility. 2 get the vaccine and shut up you can’t force others to get it. 3 ware your own mask for your own “safety” and leave the rest of us alone.

        1. Calo

Brad 💯💯👏👏 Man so many good comments here!!!!

        2. Cali

The falsities in the covid narrative pushed by the media and the FDA/CDC who work for pharma have manipulated people for far too long. They have used it to take away our bodily and medical freedoms in exchange for profit and control. Enough is enough and we simply won’t stand for it any longer.

  15. Jason

I also had a request at the concert too, but it was not honored. Last time I ask to walk around pantsless, was approved. But that’s the way things go.

It’s funny that people make this political. Democrats always push for a right to choose. But when it comes to a mask, it’s a total Stalin Stance.

    1. 70M C4T

LoL and great point. Plus they claim to care about others but love killing babies yet are against executing murderers.

  16. Mario

If she was really concerned she wouldn’t be participating in these kinds of activities that draw large crowds. Who do these celebrities think they are telling people what to do?

  17. Chrisjjf

I was there, maybe 20ft from the stage. There was some booing but not much, she’s a sweet older lady now who cares about her audience and meant no harm with the request, I don’t even think she heard the booing. I wasn’t wearing a mask and felt like she was just being grandmotherly. I feel like this kind of sensationalized what happened. I even heard laughter when she said “put a mask on that baby!” Wasn’t that big a deal.

    1. Tt

Diana Ross would not piss on you if you were on fire. She has always treated everyday people like they are beneath her …FACT.

  18. Gary Michaels

Booing is the only option. Idiots who adore people like Ross need to know that these virtue signalers rarely practice what they preach. Super bowl was full of celebrities partying without their masks DESPITE the LA county LAW requiring masks. CDC has admitted that cloth masks do nothing to keep anyone safe, while STILL recommending them. Turn off your cult like adoration of masks and turn on your ability to think for yourself.

  19. R

    @ drew 👏👏😄

  20. GetReal

It’s baffling there are still people ignorant enough to think COVID is a hoax. The entire planet has been reporting hospitalizations and deaths for TWO YEARS. THE ENTIRE PLANET.

The anti-vax/anti-mask movement is the hoax. it was created during an election year for fears that an economic downturn from people staying home would impact the elections. Even Pres. Trump put tremendous push behind accelerating the vaccine, so he had to believe, despite his contrary behaviors in minimizing the disease.

  21. Jon

Diana was only looking out for her audience and her safety. She meant no harm by it. she did it out of love as she certainly does not need the money.

  22. In the Middle

The beauty of America is that everyone is allowed to voice their opinion. Unless contracted otherwise, Ross is allowed to state her opinion or request. And those who don’t agree are allowed to boo (disrespectfully or not, it is subjective). But for those to call others “Fuehrer” or tell others to leave the state, it is just baffling to me. We have become too polarized. It is like everyone has to be right all the time. But it isn’t that simple. We are a complex people. So we need to learn how to coexist instead of segregate. The beauty of capitalism is that if you don’t like an Artist, don’t buy their product. If you don’t like their show or message, leave. But to go on the attack is absurd. Does it make you feel better? Next question. Why is it all about you? What happened to the “We?” When did we get so sensitive? We need to find the middle and some common ground.

  23. Annie

Don’t fool yourselves. She wasn’t concerned for her health or anyone else’s health. She was just interested in pushing “safety” theater and a woke agenda. These self-important stars needs to wake up and realize that we are simply interested in hearing them sing, or act. Not in being coerced by their virtue signaling.

  24. Brandon

She Posted a Christmas Photo with her Whole Family, No Masks. I Seriously Don’t understand why this even Happened. Masks Optional Now, Yes? Outdoor Concert, Yes?
FAIL on Her Part. If you watch the YouTube Video or her Trying to Sing her New Thank You Song, She Lip Sings It. Blaming Her Whole Back Up Production For It. She’s had 2 Years to prepare for this Song, and You Present it, This Way? HUGE DISGRACE.
Shame On You & Demanding All Wear Masks. So Sad

  25. Vincent Ferguson Duncan

Time To Breath Again America! Time To Breath Again! The Pandemic Is Over!

  26. Mike G

    You stay classy Florida

  27. Floridian

I would definitely not boo her-just roll my eyes and turn my ears off…regardless of whether her asking is right or wrong I feel she should have done her due diligence and decided whether it was worth it or not to accept to play a crowded area in FLORIDA…our state is clearly not ny or Cali so if you are that worried WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU PERFORM IN FLORIDA…it is not a surprise that people aren’t wearing masks here (I’m sure her news stations have made a huge deal over it)so don’t accept the money to perform in a state where people are flocking to not wear masks…

  28. Jerry

Yes, please wear your mask…unless you happen to be part of the Hollywood Social and Political elite at the Superbowl, then screw you.

  29. MYCHAELTODD

KISS MISS ROSS’S AZZZZZZZZ! How’s that for all you disrespectful unvaccinated fool’s.

  30. KenR

The number of neurotic, mask loving morons out there is astounding.

  31. Ken

While Ms. Ross’ gesture by her words implies a kind gesture to her audience, ineffective (less than n95) masking has become a purely political pressure point. Artists should be sensitive to and avoid needless statements with political overtones, which is what drew the boos. Not Diana herself. . Enough is enough on masking. It’s a personal choice, just as is vaccine, which has not lived uo to government promises. Give everyone freedom to choose. Go to concerts to enjoy the music and the artistic expression, and leave the politics behind. That’s a message to the artists and the concert-goers. Everyone knows their options and the risks.
