Perhaps the prospect of riding in a white moving truck to Studios turned them off. I would not pay for this, because it doesn’t look like Star Wars and it is expensive. I also think you got to have a lot of imagination to enjoy a fake cruise. I like being outside not looking at a fake outside television screen.
These regular articles about availability are strange. How do you know they aren’t just finishing more rooms and making more available? And why is it so important that a hotel should be at 100% occupancy? Surely trading with high but not complete occupancy means they planned the hotel perfectly.
This isn’t a holiday inn express. Disney fully expected a huge waitlist to get on to the “ship” and were very proud to tell investors they were “sold off out of 3 months of room inventory” last year. That’s clearly not the case. Not only is there no waitlist (since dates are still easily available) but a lot of the first month guests are cancelling. There’s no other way to spin it than that the excitement has been totally deflated. Disney is hoping that over excited bloggers can bail them out in their incoming reviews.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but when we canceled (and it broke our hearts a little), it had nothing to do with our expectations for the trip. It was because we found out that Disney follows almost none of the covid precautions we’re used to here in Europe. They don’t check for people’s vaccination status, nor do they ask for tests… they don’t even make you wear masks outside. And with the rising numbers (Germany is bad, but Florida just sounded insane to us) and their three-month cancellation policy, we decided to cancel while we could and hope to return when things have calmed down a bit. Even after four jabs, it didn’t seem worth the risk.
Imagine planning a trip out of your country when you’re that afraid of the common cold. Stay inside your house, we don’t need anyone snarking over being unmasked outdoors in 90 degree Florida heat.
It’s hardly the common cold. My father-in-law died recently from COVID last fall, in no small part because he listened to anti-vaxxers and COVID-deniers like you.
My trip is booked and 100% paid for. May 4th on the Galactic Starcruiser. I’m not an influencer, paid shill, or any of the other things I see bounced around online. Just a Star Wars fan excited to try something new and different!
Sincerely I hope you have a lot of fun (and most likely you will, because psychologically you will want to justify spending the outrageous sum). But I do think you should hold Disney to a much higher standard to get your money beyond just being “new”. That’s subjective though.
Disney themselves said they were 100% booked for the first few months, all the way back in 2021. There are only 100 rooms in the “hotel”. It’s very obvious that many people cancelled. Why else would they remove the YouTube video? It was clearly impacting reservations. You’re blind to say otherwise.
If after all that has come out about the fake galactic star cruiser, and you still want to go for “only” $6000, then I guess you have an awful lot of money to waste. As P.T. Barnum once said: “there’s a sucker born every minute”.

I‘m so sorry to hear that. Our thoughts are with you and your wife‘s family.

I gave my dog a laxative and watched him poop on the floor. I got as much enjoyment as I would have staying in this monstrosity and it was free.

Still sticking to the idea that they sold 100% of inventory up front, eh? You don’t understand how hotels work, especially coming out of a pandemic.
