I thought the new guy looked exactly like a young Mark Hamill. I agre that his speech pattern was a little weird, but in a way that reminded me of Hamill circa Return of the Jedi.
What a damn shame. Now what they did in The Mandalorian, was great. Not too much but just enough to save the character after the New Star Wars destroyed him.
