$100 for a Lego set is “ridiculously expensive”? Obviously this “writer” has no idea how much Lego sets can go for. Any of the decent, highly detailed sets START at $250 (at least).
Yes. And those sets have thousands of pieces. But $100 for a set that has less than 500 pieces? Yes that’s ridiculously expensive, even with the “Disney tax”
Yes it is. On avg (you have to factor in avg brick size) for every 100 bricks/pcs its around $10so a set with 500 bricks/pieces is selling for twice the norm.
I would not say this is “outrageously priced” however this is basically a mini-fig set with less than 500 pieces, so not huge. I’d say most sets in this range are closer to $50-$60.
But it is still a cool set!
It is over priced. It’s not 542 bricks/pieces plus 7 minifigs. The minifig pieces are factored into that 542 and while it is many mini-figs it’s still selling for close to twice what you’d pay in any other LEGO set with the same number of bricks/pcs.
It appears ITM jumped the gun on this. Here in the US Walmart is selling the set for $80 not $100. That’s still a bit on the pricey side, should be around $60 but it’s 4/5 the price that ITM said it would be.

It will be having exclusive figures and pieces so Lego knows that fans will buy it

This writer obviously doesn’t buy Lego sets. $100 usd is NOT outrageous for exclusive figurines. Not my fandom in Lego, but this will sell loke cra,y.
