Well I guess yesterday marks the last day I’ll be going until the numbers drop. Man people have such short memories. Unitl Cases are drop below 150 a day we are never really out of this. Thanks Disney for screwing the responsible people (i.e. vaxed and masked). I leave you to the Trumpsters we’ll see how much those morons spend $$$.

This is an insane statement. We’re out of this. We’re done. with vaccines and therapeutic treatments, there is no reason to continue asinine policies that simply do. not. work. I’ll repeat that: mask mandates do. not. work. If you’re so frightened (still), then you can stay home. And how dare you accuse those who are opposed to masks and vaccine mandates accuse others of being “irresponsible.” I got vaccinated. My family got vaccinated. We’ve been putting up with mask bs for 2 years. My dad got vaxed AND boosted. And guess what? He still passed from COVID. So forget you and your judgmental attitude.

As for my family, we’re not going because I refuse to be nickle-and-dimed.

      Meanwhile,

      1. Jennifer

Alex, I’m sorry about your dad

        > we’re not going because I refuse to be nickle-and-dimed.

This is exactly why were aren’t going. I just read on another Disney news site that the trams are finally coming back to DLR this month. With the way things are going it wouldn’t shock me at all if they charge $10 for lightning lane access with Jafar+ for a ride back to the parking garage at the end of the day.

      3. Alex

Actually, the data shows that masks can be very effective at reducing transmission. Requiring KN95 or greater with Omicron is necessary.

    2. binki

If you are vaxed you are safe if you don’t have other complications. The deaths for vaxed and healthy is near zero.

By the way. Have you seen how many people are in the parks? It was elbow to @$$hole over the weekend. Where are the stats that any increase came from Disneyland in the last year?

  2. Jennifer

I think all of it should go away. At this point people should be responsible for themselves. If you’re scared, stay home or wear a mask that actually protects YOU. I prefer to breathe and am willing to take the risk. It’s no different than the flu at this point. If you’re still scared, do some actual research on the numbers and you should feel better. People in charge benefit by keeping you scared, but I choose not to be. And yes, I was vaccinated and then had Covid and it was a mild cold. Masks don’t work and vaccinated or not it spreads. Take a breath and learn to enjoy life again 🙂

    1. Alex

Actual numbers = 900,000 deaths in the US(and that doesn’t even count people suffering from long COVID). Actual data shows that masks are effective(KN95 or better now with Omicron). It’s sad that people can make the small gesture of wearing a mask to protect others around them who might be at higher risk.

      1. Ethan

Except 90% of people aren’t wearing KN95 masks or better, they are all wearing home-made cloth masks or masks they bought in bulk on amazon that actually say “Does not prevent the transmission of disease”

        1. alex

It would be pretty simple for Disney to require KN95 or greater masks at their parks. Disney could even provide them for free with the very high price of admission!

  3. Criss

Ok except Disney isn’t requesting vaccination cards when entering so how will they know. That’s the problem here

    1. binki

Disney isn’t the vax police. They don’t ask for anything for flu, TB, HIV, MMR, etc. If you are afraid. Stay home.

      1. Alex

Yeah when was the last 2 year period that any of those other diseases killed 900,000 people in the US? Not a good or logical comparison.

        1. Ethan

Exactly! not a good or logical comparison at all. I’m so tired of people arguing about my choice of not getting the vax, errr, I mean the shot, with the argument “well we don’t have thousands of people dying with tb or the measles or etc etc” and it’s because those vaccines are actual immunizations, the covid vax is nothing close.

          1. Alex

Ethan, you are wrong about the COVID vaccine vs other vaccines like the measles vaccine. Even the measles vaccine is only 93%-97% effective in prevention and measles outbreaks still happen. However, the chances of you dying when you have been vaccinated against COVID is very small vs an unvaccinated person. And vaccinated people do not spread COVID as much as unvaccinated people. The reality is that wearing proper masks, getting vaccines, practicing social distancing all together dramatically reduce your risk and the risk of others getting COVID. I do not understand why wearing a mask is so hard for people to do as a common courtesy to protect themselves and the people around them. Disney could simply require that if you don’t want to get vaccinated you can wear a mask and a COVID test before entering the park. No big deal.

  4. binki

Finally. It was predictable that with elections coming up that this would end.

  5. JOHN R

Our amazing president saw the light, can’t wait to go to Dland without masks.

    1. CJ

      What amazing president?

  6. kns

Masks work. Why do you think surgeons and operating room staff wear them?
Vaccines and boosters work. Anti-vax’rs are in the hospitals sick and dying. Darwin Theory.
Disneyland had the large measles outbreak in 2014. We shall see what happens in 2022.
We should be required to show our vaccine record and receive a wristband. No wristband, mask required. But since that will not happen, the anti-vax’rs will continue to behave like the selfish people they are and put others at risk instead of masking up.
Just thinking of being in the Haunted Mansion elevator with 99 unmasked anti-vax’rs makes it the scariest ride in Disneyland.

Disney has made it clear that they are putting their profits over the fans – be it the new Genie fast pass scam or Disney’s willingness to put their guests health at risk by not requiring vaccines or negative COVID tests to enter their parks. Shame on the rat!

    1. Ethan

But it can’t be “proof of vaccination” OR “negative tests”. If you’re going to require negative tests it has to be for EVERYBODY regardless of vaccination status, or are you one of those silly people who still think only the unvaccinated are getting and spreading the virus? I went to high school with a super smart kid named alex, you’re definitely not him.

      1. Alex

Ethan, vaccinated people, even if they do get sick, are less contagious and contagious for a shorter period of time than an unvaccinated person. However, I would be happy to take a COVID test (even though I am vaccinated and boosted )if that would convince people like you to step up and do the right thing. Will you be willing to wear a KN95 of better mask in the parks if I also get a COVID test?

        1. Not True

We’re vaccinated and are just getting over covid. It lasted for almost 3 weeks for us, and I tested positive on days 7 and 17. I’m with Ethan on this one. Even negative tests are pointless if taken 72 hours earlier. First omicron symptom was 32 hours after exposure.

          1. Alex

I don’t understand why people have such a hard time accepting that if mitigation methods are not 100% effective then they are still very useful in stopping the spread of COVID and protecting lives. When it comes to car safety everyone accepts that anti-lock brakes, airbags, seatbelts, etc all reduce the chance of injury but non are 100% effective. And that all those safety measures together make you safer when driving a car. No one is saying “I got in an accident and still go hurt when wearing a seatbelt so I don’t think we need to wear seatbelts anymore!” When it comes to COVID – testing, vaccines, masks, social distancing, etc all are safety measures that work together to make us all safer. None are 100% effective but they all help and if everyone did all of them it would significantly reduce the spread of the disease and save a lot of lives. Even if tests don’t show positive in some people for the first few days, tests will show some positives for others and prevent those sick individuals from entering the park and exposing other guests. Those who are sick and don’t show a positive should wear KN95 masks, socially distance, etc and that will further protect guests. Either way tests would stop a good portion of sick people from going into the park.

Cases in Florida need to drop below 150 a day before this happens. And how are they determining Who’s not fully vaccinated. Are they checking vax status at the gate?

  9. Morgan

Ok, What about Character meet and greets? Will they continue the distant character Meet and Greets or will they return to the close encountered character meet and greets along with the character dining?

    1. Dawn

All it would take is one unmasked person with COVID to hug a character and then that character to be hugged by others to become a mass spreader.

Here’s some food for thought people.

Whoever wrote this 👍🏻 on point!
Stolen from a well educated friend: #nurse
“Among all the vaccines I have known in my life (diphtheria, tetanus, measles, rubella, chickenpox, hepatitis, meningitis and tuberculosis), I want to also add flu and pneumonia. I have never seen a vaccine that forced me to wear a mask and maintain my social distance, even when you are fully vaccinated. I had never heard of a vaccine that spreads the virus even after vaccination. I had
never heard of rewards, discounts, incentives to get vaccinated. I never saw discrimination for those who didn’t. If you haven’t been vaccinated no one has tried to make you feel like a bad person. I have never seen a vaccine that threatens the relationship between family, colleagues and friends. I have never seen a vaccine used to threaten livelihoods, work or
school. I have never seen a vaccine that would allow a 12-year-old to override parental consent. After all the vaccines I listed above, I have never seen a vaccine like this one, which discriminates, divides and judges society as it is. And as the social fabric tightens… It’s a powerful vaccine! She does all these things except IMMUNIZATION. If we still need a booster dose after we are fully vaccinated, and we still need to get a negative test after we are fully vaccinated, and we still need to wear a mask after we are fully vaccinated, and still be hospitalized after we have been fully vaccinated, it will likely come to “It’s time for us to admit that we’ve been completely deceived.”

Ps. Just to let people know that one of my good friends from high school, she & her whole family got fully vaccinated, but guess what?
    “SHE STILL DIED!!!!”
Take that in and really think about ALLLLLLLLLL OF THIS!!!

    1. Alex

Your friend who is a “nurse” is pretty uneducated about this disease and vaccines. If they were up to date on the latest medical information they would know that more than 90% of COVID deaths are unvaccinated individuals. I hope you stop spreading this Mis-information and help protect yourself and your community by getting a vaccine. Please don’t be selfish and ignorant.

      1. D

Wow, the irony is strong in you Alex. Ignorance indeed.

        1. Alex

The irony is that people have been getting vaccine boosters for decades (we all get our Tetanus shots every ten years) but suddenly they forget and act like this is all new and vaccines are horrible.
