By now everyone should be getting used to the weekly price gouging by Disney. What proof you say do I have of this to make this statement…….copy and paste this link to see the answers.
Poor old Walt must be rolling his eyes in his little freezer right now! Heck ya! If I had the $$$ I would totally go to that place man!
I don’t see Disney doing anything to help.out the community in those poor people hotels. You know what? Karma is gonna backhand his butt into next week!
Just sayin’
Peace, Love, Joy and Happiness are my wishes for everyone. Keep on keepin’on!
Disney did this to themselves, no only prices but getting rid of passport because too many locals were using the my grand kids had passports and use to go 5 or 6 times a year, but we locals spent as much money inside as tourists. Then they did the reservation thing so you have a ticket but also have to have a reservation. They screwed themselves, besides they owned half the world.
Disney is getting greedy, if they continue to up prices people will go elsewhere, get rid of paying extre to get on rides, bring back fasspasses,, free parking in resorts, & go back to how it was, if it’s not broken don’t fix, it was better before this new CEO got Greedy & making the parks for the rich & not how walt disney made it for, for all families to afford to go, its all Greddy now, so it doesn’t suprise me if other park undercut disney as people will boycott disney if too expensive for families
Depends on where you live, time of year, and length of stay. I’m in California and a week at Disney World is often more expensive than a week in Tokyo even accounting for flight prices. The LA/Paris comparison is flawed for many reasons (starting with the fact that staying on property in Anaheim is madness), but FL/Tokyo for west coasters is surprisingly reasonable. I’d imagine it’s even more true for people in Hawaii
I too would go. Have you seen Disney Parks in Japan? So much better than the ones in the states. And my daughter is a bigger fan of their offerings then all the princesses and Winnue the Pooh.
Cause those parks are not owned by Disney. They’re owned by the Oriental Land Company. They just pay Disney for the licensing rights. Disney probably owns a small piece but not the main owner
Disney and its theme parks have always taken advantage of parents eager to please their children who’ve become enamored with various Disney movies and their characters. Prices at their parks from park tickets to food to merchandise has always been high and most of the quality for the cost of those items proportionately low. COVID has just become an excuse to give the public a rationale to price gouge. It’s just becoming MORE of the elitist “country club” that it’s always been.
If I lived anywhere near Japan I would definitely go to the new Studio Ghibli park over Tokyo Disney. Not because of anything against Disney, simply because Studio Ghibli films are so amazing.
It’s so surprising to me for a company that makes a living writing about Disney and theme parks, to write so many hit pieces about Disney daily. We get it, prices are going up. Everything is increasing. What do you think would happen if the price stayed exactly the same, but nothing else went up? MORE people in the parks. Running a successful business is all about finding a balance of supply vs. demand, and unfortunately for some, Disney has perfected it. Can’t afford it? Please go to Japan instead, I’m sure that would be a real inexpensive trip.
Salty much? You must work for Disney to shill so hard. Disney is a large enough corporation that these price hikes are nothing short of greedy robbery.
Breaking news: Companies are found guilty of trying to make as much money as possible. Customers flabbergasted at why a company would charge as much as it can while still keeping demand at all time high.
Disney can because people will pay. They stop going, then Disney will lower the cost, Or people can visit universal studios. Granted its expensive, but the high end hotels give skip line pass, that in its self is worth it.
I JUST WANT TO TELL A LITTLE STORY .
I GREW UP WITH DISNEY WORLD GOING 2 ×’S A MONTH . I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED.
I have soooo much memories there and to see now this 🤪 crazy.
I want too sell it all from hanging movie posters to rolls of tickets and lot’s of collections. If anyone has interested to contact me.
I am from Southern California and even the “discounted prices” for So.Cal. residents are way too high..
I will never ever visit a Disney Park again, same reason as I will never buy a Marriott Shared Property again… RIP OFF…
One thing I’ve learned from ITM…….jump down to the 4th or 5th paragraph to find out what the article is about. Seems like all contributors follow this same style of writing. I don’t mind getting some background on the story, but most can be written after the main point. Guessing this is so more popup ads can appear.
What are your thoughts on this writing style? Especially if you are a seasoned Disney fan.
The price for a ticket is ridiculously high, then they charge more foe a fast pass. They over sell tickets that’s why it takes so long to get on a ride. Sell a certain amount tickets in a day and people would be able to enjoy themselves. I would rather go to Knotts Berry Farm
While I’m as disgruntled as everyone else here with the way Disney is mishandling just about everything and pricing its most-loyal fans out, it’s not a fair comparison. The new theme park is a walk-through with no ride-type attractions and only three of the five lands will be ready at park opening.
Disney has never been affordable. Many families save for years to visit, and that has always been the case. My gripe is that what used to be arguably worth saving for has been eroded over time with decreasing value and poorer park experiences. Who wants to spend their whole day staring at their phone to find shortest wait times and figure out what you want for lunch before you finish breakfast so you can get your mobile order in? The penalty for not doing so results in a super expensive, lousy day with infinite wait times for everything. No thanks.
I think that’s my main issue with Disney atm. They keep saying, “We deliver the magic”. Yet, they want us on the phone half the day trying to get everything straightened out. I miss the days where I would walk in and just walk around not worried about anything because I was on vacation. Now, you walk in and you’re racing to a specific place.
If I were to make the journey to Japan again (from the UK) it would need to be for several weeks to make it worth while. In which case I would do all the parks within reach, not just one or the other.
OMG! I wish that I lived in Japan JUST so I could go to this park! I love Studio Ghibli!! Sort of surprised that it’s a rival though, only because I thought that the English versions were released through Pixar
Genie Plus Is a mad magic killer. Everyone in D-world’s MK and HS in Orlando is on their phone trying to sort out their dwindling options for getting on any ride without waiting 60 minutes. Genie is also so glitchy Disney out to be embarrassed to out this out there. But you’ve got people having such a bad time that they’re willing to pay $16 MORE per person fir Genie Plus to have a less bad time. And on top of that, each park has two extremely popular rides NOT covered by Genie. For those you pay more — $7 to $15 per person — to experience a 3-minute ride. Last Monday was so busy at MK I’m sure some people spent 8 hours in line for a half hour worth of rides. At the end of that day and another at Hollywood Studios, instead of thinking what a great time we had, I thought “we’re all fools.”
As to say with that, Disney is getting a run for it’s money most likely replacing a mouse with a rabbit pretty soon, even though competition is good to see how things change.
Not just for Disney but one day one of Disney’s main rivals will appear somewhere in the USA and opens up a theme park cheaper than Disney and soon they will trade off Mickey Mouse for Bugs Bunny and that is the truth.
Bugs Bunny is already at Six Flags and although cheaper (about $60), Six Flags Parks are gross and have charged money for their fast pass equivalent for years.
who wants to go all the way to Japan for lower prices after all of cost at the end of the day u will b at same cost ..all in all not worth your money or time and energy .
What’s going on with Disney is exactly why I sold all of my stock in the company when Igor left! This new CEO is only about money and nothing about Walt’s vision of who should be able to visit the parks and have a good time; not be money gouged!
Yesterday I agree it’s has become outrageously expensive an not for nothing just feels like the magic has disappeared an it all about $$$$$$$$$$$ just so sad I’m 40 an born and raised in Florida I will say that I have seen the difference between now an then

I’m thinking the air travel cost to Japan would outweigh any savings to the new park.

How come the Japanese prices for Disney are significantly lower? Why do we have to pay more in Florida or California?
