We have been here since Friday. It has been busy but today, Monday, has been miserable. We are at Hollywood studios. We got into kine for slinky dog dash with a 120 minute wait time, which actually ended up being 3 hours. There were no lightning lanes available at 7:02 in the morning and if you paid the big bucks for genie +, which doesn’t include some of the main attractions, the first time available wasn’t until after 4pm. It definitely has not been as fun. Strongly recommend coming in the evenings to get in your priority attractions. Skipping fireworks at magic kingdom, we were able to walk right on to splash mountain and big thunder mountain.

I agree with waiting until the evening or during fireworks. Yesterday while at EPCOT there was a moment where the line for Ratatouille was 210 minutes! I waited to go into the line just before Harmonious started and was out before it ended. 15 minutes vs 210! That certainly was a Disney win for me. Actually so far it hasn’t been that bad. Been to IOA and EPCOT so far this past weekend and the longest I waited was 45 minutes and besides Frozen breaking down yesterday I’ve hit every ride that I’ve wanted too. At Animal Kingdom now and Avitar did have a 105 minute wait when I got here (which actually is not that bad), but decided to wait and now have been in line for Kilimajaro for 45 minutes and am just about there.

It’s a 3 day weekend it’s going to be busy plus remember nobody has money. Lol. But they do when it’s comes to Disney. They can’t pay ther rent or Mortage but they can go to Disney. Disney can change 1000$ to get in and people will still go.

Was at Disney last week when the park was NOT at capacity, and the waits were horrible. We had genie plus but since we were “off property” we could not get any rides until entering the park. So almost every ride sold out on genie plus to those staying “on property”. The waits were bad, but in the summer would be horrible with the heat and crowds. To stand in line over 2 hours for a 4 minute ride is crazy. We all (12 of us) had fun, but to pay that much to wait in line is ridiculous.

If people are going to go during a holiday or summer peaks, then your going to pay. People who have no kids but want to see Disney, should go when its off season and when the little darlings are in school. Or try a travel agent who can get you good deals.

We just got back during their supposed off season and it was packed. They are saying all the people who had planned trips during 2020/2021 are now going to it’s unusually busy. But I wouldn’t expect it to level out for a while. But I’ve noticed it’s really hit or miss. Some weeks(ends) they say it’s dead then the next bam! At capacity.

  3. I’ve been going to Disney since the day it opened in 1971. I’m a local and always on the holidays especially Presidents Day and Memorial Day week-ends have been mobbed. I try to avoid the week-ends and just walk around and if the line is very short on a ride, I’ll hop on that one. Just being there is a good mind-sweep. I’m sorry about the people that doesn’t live by and saves a good chunk of their earnings for one visit that unfortunately ruins their vaycay with very long lines. I feel for them.

I am making my last trip to Disneyworld in June to take my grandsons and their Aunt. We have been saving since 2019. My age 10 and 12 grandsons have liived with us most their lives and we’ve never taken them on a real vacation. This is suppose to be the memory of a lifetime. It breaks my heart to think we may not be able to get into parks we already have passes for or that we may be lucky to get on one ride a day. We’ve alreay spent $3000 for tickets and used 400,000 points for the Hilton Palace by Disney Springs. They have no expectations so we will make the best of it. If not for them, I would cancel the trip and eat my Disney tickets.

My daughter had a gymnastics meet in Orlando about 3 years ago. We were deciding between Disney or Sea world for a park to visit. We chose Disney. Wrong choice. We probably only went on 5 rides all day since it was so crowded. We have been to Disney a couple times before this, but will never go again unless they start limiting the amount of people they allow in. Way too much money to ride only 5 rides.

They HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE OLD FAST PASS SYSTEM. THIS IS NOT WORKING OUT.

      Seriously

People seem to forget that with no parades, limited character greetings and a number of shows closed (Friendship Faire, Nemo and Fantasmic for instance), there is nothing to do but go on the rides. That is a major factor in the wait times. Hopefully when these return, wait time will drop.

Take your children somewhere else in this great country! Rent an RV and go see history or nature’s beauty! Stop spending thousands to go on a cheap thrill ride then eat overpriced processed food, ending with plastic toys or clothing that cost more than they’ll ever be worth.

Hoping when I travel there in Aug 2023 that Disney and universal have scrapped Al. The capacity and gone back to normal ie before covid restrictions, with everybody now fully vaccinated,,

Look at all those rubes. If the car warranty people could get a list of those peoples names and numbers they could make a fortune!

I believe one of the major factors causing crowds to sky rocket is Disney’s offering thousands of low cost annual passes last year to Floridians. Floridians were offered several low priced options, while at the same time, only one High price option was offered to out of state people. In turn, the sells have been huge on the low-price passes for Floridians; and hence, the parks are overcrowded with non-vacationers who go to the parks sometimes just to hang out. When I was there in November it seemed like EPCOT was more like a local party atmosphere than a family vacation atmosphere. I cancelled my March trip.
