Totally agree with this. I’ve been going to Disney over 40+ years… when it was just Magic Kingdom and two resorts on a monorail. In those days, it was only Downtown Disney hotels (Disney Market Place – wonderful then with a great bakery.) The Market Place was small, intimate, and basically meant for offsite guests. Empress Lily. Live Nativity. Then Epcot, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, the Epcot resorts opened…. it got much more crowded….. then more parks, more resorts…. more people. Late October, early November, first weeks in December, all of January, March…. easy times for a quiet vacation. Not. Anymore. I still love Disney. In fact, I moved to Florida to be near Disney. I find I go less and less with the crowds. There’s not even a guaranteed day of the week that’s quiet. Disney isnt really about family anymore…. it’s about the financial bottomline. Beat out Universal, build more resorts- some DVC, expand, expand, expand. Disney doesn’t try to hide their motives anymore. It’s really sad that everything comes down to $$$$$$. No more sweetening the pill, just hand over your cash.

And Genie + does not help, IMO fastpass system wasn’t broken. Genie + , lightning passes, equal more money and the experience still isnt there. We went “off peak” 2 weeks ago and still were only able to enjoy 1/3 of the rides after investing in our MOST expensive DW vacay in over 5 years. We still love Disney but it was defintely discerning.
