This is a pretty big turning point. The tide might well be turning in OUR favour

  2. Matthew Muir

Do you guys think this corporate mutiny might save Disney? or do you think the company’s done for REGARDLESS of who’s in charge?

    1. Marcus

Bob Chapek keep the Walt Disney Company out of bankruptcy during a devastating pandemic that closed all Disney theme parks at a point, closed all movie theaters, and stopped the sailing of all cruise ships. Stop the hate. He has done a fantastic job!

      1. Drew

That’s Iger not Chapek. Iger stayed on as “Executive Chairman” and had control of that aspect of the company. Chapek is applying the same “From the Disney Vault” exclusivity to draw people in and cut here and there to make more money at the sacrifice of so much. Walt would be furious

        1. Matthew Muir

but would removing Chapek change much, Drew?

          Ask yourself that

Or should we write the company off as a PERMENANT lost cause?

      2. Rroe

Bob Paycheck will be known as the one to bring Disney DOWN. Do your homework……Constant price rises, price gouging and making Disney the land for the RICH. Bob Paycheck needs to go and if he doesn’t you can expect more of the same.

      3. Julian H

No Way… Chapek is a greedy non sighted Plank, he needs to go. Let some new blood in, someone that cares not just about the money but all the other good stuff, you do that and people will continue to come, this bunch on the board are totally clueless and greedy.

      4. EX Disney Customer

Wow! I can’t believe this comment. Is this for real?

      5. Thank you Marcus for posting on here like I asked you to do, good man.

        1. Matthew

          Is this YOU, Mr. Chapek

        2. Matthew

Have you any idea how much contention is building up inside your OWN COMPANY?

How much longer do you think you’re gonna survive

        3. Marc

Good! It’s about time the shareholders did something about that jerk! The sooner he’s removed as the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, the sooner the company can get back to doing things the way Walt wanted it.

  3. Marcus

    1. Julian H

No Marcus Bob Paycheck is killing it, not saving it.

  4. Jennifer

While I am not a fan of Chapek he is the only Board Member with Disney history, the others have none, with the exception of serving on the Board. Covid did not help. I say give him a year, with a list of improvements or expectations that need to be met or next year he should be voted out. Improvements I would like to see: the perks brought back – free Resort parking, Extra Magic Hours for all Resort Guests, Magical Express (even if they have to charge a small fee for it) and discontinuing the Genie+, just go back to paper fast passes so I do not have to be attached to my phone every trip.

    1. Matthew Muir

I agree. We need to give Chapek a chance to redeem himself and prove whether or not he truly IS a cost-cutter at heart. And if he’s unable to prove himself to be the saviour the company needs, then YES, he should be voted out.

      1. S1

Oh please I’d rather have Donald Trump in charge of Disney than Crooked Bob. Make Disney Great Again.

        1. Matthew Muir

          WHAT?!

        2. Matthew Muir

S1 how DARE you? Donald Trump was a cruel fascist. just AS BAD as Chapek.

Who’d you prefer as a president for Disney a fascist or a crony?

        3. Cameron Debartolo

Carefull people in this world are sensitive to opinions that our different then there’s. If they disagree with someone he’s a facist

      2. Julian H

Paycheck and Iger had their chances and time and time again they proved what greedy pigs they are.

Replace them the sooner the better. How many more chances do you want to give them to mess it up.

    2. I agree with Jennifer. Also the Magic is missing. The cast members are not happy and many are not friendly at all. One more issue I had this past week with my 97 year old mom in a wheelchair at the Animal Kingdom on the Kilimanjaro Safari was the extended wait time. Not only did we have to wait in the entire line with everyone else (70 minutes) but we were then re-routed to the handicapped area which was an additional 30 minute wait as there are very few trucks designated to the handicapped line. I am a pass holder but my mom’s ticket was full priced and she wasn’t able to physically go on many attractions. It was very disappointing to see the handicapped guests treated with such disregard.

      1. DLand

Miss Virginia, I’m Disabled and 57 yrs young & each year it gets harder & harder for us Handicappable People here at Disney. People act as if we Meant to become Disables & I’ve even had people Cruse me up and down because I’m either to slow or I shouldn’t even be there in Disney with All of them because Im DISABLED 😡😡😡😡

  5. Good for them! Cheapskate is ruining the Disney vacation experience. Taking away all resort perks and charging for everything is turning people off. Genie Plus has made people paying for it infuriated. The fake Star Wars cruise can’t get anybody to work there, because they are too cheap to give a descent wage. 100 price gauged guests might not generate a lot of tips. Vote the bean counter out!

  6. JW

Definitely voted against him…hopefully someone gets the message!

  7. Justin

I am not a fan of him, myself, but he does deserve a chance. After all, he kept the company afloat during the pandemic and things are getting back to normal. I do feel that resort guests should receive free parking at resorts. I love Genie+ so I think it should stay. I don’t mind paying for that service. I also don’t mind waiting in some longer lines. What I wish would come back is some of the old stuff from the parks. Epcot, Studios, and Animal Kingdom need parades, even if they are short ones. I wish Epcot would stay away from becoming too disney like it was but it seems that will not happen. I sense some magic is gone, but I still love going there. I have two trips already planned this year. I think once the pandemic is gone, Chapek will be a great CEO, he rose through the ranks of Disney.

  8. En

Vote him out! Get rid of Genie+ so you aren’t tied to your phone all day. You miss so much when you are walking staring at your phone trying to get a better ride time or LL. Advertise it like that,” You don’t have to be staring at your phone all day at Disney, don’t miss everything you are walking by” I know it will never happen, I just miss the old days of just doing what you want whenever you want. Park hop a few times a day if you feel like it. Not being tied to a park because the only fast pass time you could get was 6pm for that must do ride.

    1. Sandy

I agree. You can’t enjoy the parks any more!
I don’t think this would make Walt happy.

      1. Matthew Muir

        But think about it

WILL CHAPEK’S DEPARTURE BE A TURNING POINT?

        1. Julian H

In short – THATS a BIG YES

  9. Bob

For everyone saying to give him a chance to prove himself and that he isnt a cheapskate, he did exactly that. That IS his thing. He is a product. He rose through the ranks cause he was able to monetize all the products and when they merged parks and products, that was a lot of peoples concerns was that he was going to monetize everything in the parks. And now that he has, people want to give him a break cause of the pandemic that might not really be who he is? Come on now, take the blinders off and see who he really is. And those perks that were cut, theyre gone, and not coming back unless the demand for the parks hits an all-time low. Why should they, they have a whole lot of people hooked that will keep coming back regardless of what they cut.

    1. Matthew

But do you see any chance of a corporate mutiny actually working?

      1. Bob

Here is the real puzzling thing which leads me to believe he doesnt have the confidence of the board. The board usually fine with a level of customer dissatisfaction as long as the company is bringing in the money and the stocks are increasing. The stock obviously got caught up in all the huge increases with the high demand for Disney+, no one could go any where, and then just the fact of opening back up. But once all the parks were opened, you can pinpoint each of Chapecks decisions by the drop of the stock. Every decision he made the stock lost value. I just cant see how the board would keep him, especially since he already did their dirty work of lowering costs while generating more revenue.

        1. MrsCapt777

A very good point; also your comment above about Bob monetizing everything is so true. I remember that concern and those people have been proven correct

  10. Julian H

Paycheck and Iger had their chances and time and time again they proved what greedy pigs they are.

Replace them the sooner the better. How many more chances do you want to give them to mess it up.

    1. Matthew Muir

      Now be honest Julian.

Do you think this corporate mutiny will have ANY real affect?

Or does it not matter who’s CEO anymore of the company, or even indiviudal divisions?

Could the new nature of the Walt Disney company just keep evolving under different ‘variations’ of greed?

Could some of the crimes committed by Iger, Chapek and their underlings survives under future CEOs or exec reshuffles?

      1. Julian H

Matthew in the words of Walt Disney, one can dream… and hope a change of CEO can and should make a difference. Sadly at the moment Disney of 20 years ago seems to be a long way short now to what it once was.

You just need the right person at the top and the rest will follow. Thats being honest.

  11. Laura

We have been Disney Vacation Club member since 1995 and have gone multiple times since then. What is going on now is disgusting and a display of corporate greed. Of course he doesn’t think he’s guilty of being viewed as greedy he’s a narcissist. If Walt Disney was alive right now he’d be furious. What was once magical Has transformed into a money sinkhole that is dirty and understaffed?

    1. Matthew Muir

      But…………….

      THINK

Will this corporate mutiny actually WORK?

Can the magic be brought back with a change of CEO?

      Think about that
      LONG AND HARD

Or does it not matter who’s CEO anymore of the company, or even indiviudal divisions?

Could the new nature of the Walt Disney company just keep evolving under different ‘variations’ of greed?

  12. Anon

Even if he gets replaced nothing will change. They won’t get rid of Genie+ because they get money from it that they never got before. Same with LL. The only way they go away is if no one buys them and that will never happen.
If they bring back all the parades and shows and open all the restaurants that might shorten some of the ride lines.
They could put the perks back for people staying on property at Value resorts and Moderate instead of just giving them to Deluxe resorts, Early entry and Extra Magic Hours at night and stop giving them to non-Disney hotels. (charge the non-Disney hotels extra for the perks).
Bring back Magic Express and the airport luggage check in at the hotels.
Why is it so crowded if they are not at 100% and have park reservations? I hate reservations. They lock you into a park before you even get to Florida. Planning a vacation is a pain in the ass anymore.

    Wishful thinking I know.

    1. Matthew Muir

But D’Amaro (head of the Parks and Resorts division) is an equally greedy person who WANTS to be the puppet on Bob’s strings. If Chapek gets out, he might take D’Amaro with him.

The improvement with the departure of both them will be swift and almost IMMEDIATE

Or does it not matter who’s CEO anymore of the company, or even indiviudal divisions?

Could the new nature of the Walt Disney company just keep evolving under different ‘variations’ of greed?

  13. EX Disney Customer

He’s doing a GREAT JOB at LOSING guests who once were LOYAL Disney customers. Get a life, get a new job, GET LOST IDIOT! Put Mickey in charge! He’d do a better job!

  14. Matthew Muir

But, we still need to ask ourselves whether this corporate mutiny will have ANY real affect.

Or does it not matter who’s CEO anymore of the company, or even individual divisions?

Could the new nature of the Walt Disney company just keep evolving under different ‘variations’ of greed?

Could some of the crimes committed by Iger, Chapek AND their underlings survives under future CEOs or exec reshuffles?

For all we know Disney could elect an even WORSE head than Chapek. And for all we know they might be even greedier, and they might go even FURTHER to spite customers and critics who diagree with their way of thinking.

    1. Julian H

You just need a strong willed new Director that will put them back on the right path.

I’m not against Disney making money or profit, but this bunch of clowns want to do it at any cost the Disney reputation does not mean a thing to these people as long as they get a bonus and a whopping pay check.

Disney was and could be again so much better. Change the CEO for Gods Sake.

      1. Matthew

But is Josh D’Amaro ONE of those clowns

is he a REFORMABLE clown or is he too a lost cause?

That’s the key question, because some have argued that D’Amaro is also to blame for the parks

      2. Matthew Muir

What kidn of exec do you think D’Amaro was?

For all we know he could STILL be a crony under the replacement for Chapek.

He may not fall into line

Some people have just written D’Amaro of as the parks’ EQUAL of Bob Chapek. EQUALLY self-obsessed

So we need to consider whether MORE than one exec should be thrown out. Your idea of A new ceo pulling all the current bunch together might not be ENTIRELY true 🙁

    2. Edward Jackson

The CEO sets the tone of the company. Thought toward the end of his tenure he made a number of mistakes Michael Eisner made a big difference when he was the CEO. Some of it was excellent.

  15. Joem

except that the Parks are making more money than ever and are more crowded than ever…

  16. KenSaysNo

All must keep in mind this is just a handful of minor stock holders voting against Chapek.
As much as I would like to see him go, it is up to the huge major investors AND the will of the Board of Directors to oust him and that will not happen! Some folks have pointed back to when Eisner was ousted but forget that Roy E Disney along with major investors were behind that.
This is not the case here! I am not saying in a year or two he won’t be gone, just not before then. I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it.

    1. Matthew Muir

But how do WE convince those larger stakeholders to vote against Chapek?

    2. Cameron Debartolo

I don’t know why anyone thinks outsing him will do anything you outside, eisner at got iger, everything everyone complains about happened under iger. It seems like yall will never be happy probably even with walt. In the last 4 years more money and projects have been spent on the parks then ever. I know you guys don’t love all of it. But everyone complained about the state of the part prior to iger prior even to eisner. Trust me no one here is probably old enough to even really remember the parks in there glory days. All I know is complaining about to many people has been and issue forever, I’m sorry but the fast pass for normal people sucked. I never got to use it and I remember talking to everyone there on vacation it seemed like annual pass holders and disney nuts used them before vacationers ever could. Genie plus seems pretty similar except it cost so atleast it’s exclusive and so it doesn’t clog the lines as much. I was at the parks yesterday it wasn’t genies fault the lines were long. People are desperate for vacation and florida is where there going. Every Ceo we gets gonna be like iger like chapek like eisner. Hopefully imagineering can combat that, innovation is improving , and everyone who thinks Universal is going to take over soon, doesnt understand that the projects and the innovation that disney has at its disposal if used properly will easily make them obsolete. So even if universal creates a blow with there next stages and they probably will, disney will come reeling and that’s what we should count on, not switching another Ceo but the fear disney will face when Epic Universe comes out.

  17. Bryan

I want him ousted as well. He has turned Disney into a a Scrooge mcduck place for keeping all the money to him self. Disney must get back to how is used to be when they had patriotism and decency on morality. In it”s movies and shows. And parks.

  18. Edward Jackson

Well both on a not-so-serious note and then a serious note. When running the Disney Marathon through the Magic Kingdom a person was holding up a sign that said, “You are running Disney better than Chapek.” It gave me a giggle, but a lot of what I have heard on a number of discussion boards backs up that sentiment. Even if Bob Iger implemented a number of the cost increases, Chapek just sticking to the status quo, even when he took over was unacceptable. I was one of the stockholders that voted against him.

  19. Ken Brenner

Hi. I’d like to add a different reason. I’m a long-time WDW visitor who stayed at a WDW resort (Dolphin Hotel). I would like someone to come in and remove all of those that are changing WDW for reasons related to political and societal (WOKE) reasons. And, remove any leader that is slowly ruining Epcot. I understand the complaints regarding increased prices for attending, but my main beef is how WDW is allowing some in leadership to force their political views on us. WDW used to be a place to go to get away from the political and social turmoil of a rapidly sinking society. Now, we can’t even do that – look at the proposed Splash Mountain re-theme. Sad to see such a nice place going the way of the WOKE-inspired few in our society.

  20. Pam Wenger

    Vote him out!

  21. I’m a single mom of two that over the past decade has worked multiple over time shifts to experience that Disney magic for an escape. When I realized I was paying into a modern day feudal system to enrich one man with millions the illusion and fantasy of magic was gone. Doing things with my kids they missed out on the past 3 years this year we are RV camping and paddleboarding Lake Havasu. There is life beyond Disney and I just can’t work the overtime to pay for it I’m emotionally burned out

  22. Ed Comley

I voted against Chapek and about half of the other directors, (especially Safra Katz, CEO of Oracle).

I’ve been to Disney twice in the past 3 months with the family and as much as I love it, they’re in real trouble. The “oversold parks” issue is very real. The issues with food are also true. I hate the Lightning Lane thing, but if you don’t pay you wont get on the best rides because it’s so oversold. The broad access to hard liquor throughout the parks is changing the tone as well, and not for the better. And I really don’t understand why they’ve held onto ESPN. What a disaster that has been.

I own Disney stock because I love Disney, not because it’s the best investment. If my fellow shareholders keep Bob and the rest of the board I’ll sell my shares and find a new place for a vacation. I think it’s not just headed the wrong direction, but Bob is accelerating it.

If anyone at Disney is reading this I’d offer this advice: Figure out what made Disney special and stop trying to be a copy of Universal. Embrace the history (Dalmations, Mickey and Princesses) and weave in Star Wars. And please get rid of the Lightning Lane thing. If you have a capacity problem build another ride or open another theme park.
