I find that very strange. For years now, I have taken a self made booster cushion in for my elderly mother as she finds the seats on most rides really low and struggles to get up after. Without exception, Security have complimented me on it and I’ve never had an issue. Many Cast Members have said it’s cool. It’s very handy to have whilst you sit on those metal seats waiting for Fantasmic to start. Hope there wont be an issue later in the year when we visit!!!

    1. KenG

We did as well years ago when our daughter was young. Something about this story seems off and there is probably ore to it or this guest is just exaggerating what may have happened.

      1. Dude

Once I went to Disneyland and they didn’t let me in cuz I had weed

      2. Dr. Gonzo

What is it with people like you??

Immediately go to discrediting the story for no fn reason. Good Lord.

        Stop being a dbag.

One time before the pandemic hit I came in without my backpack. My keys got the attention of one security guy. He asked me if I was a police officer and I that I wasn’t. I had to remove a handcuff key on keychain. I had forgotten about it and never an issue prior. I didn’t have handcuffs on me so I didn’t understand why I had to give it up. It was a key to handcuffs that my husband used to chain up his bike with sometimes. I was peeved over this. It was ridiculous. I am not going to close to anyone with handcuffs on anyway. It made zero sense. I argued with him over it but got know where. So he got it in order to go into the parks and I told my husband about what happened.

We recently had security at Disney Springs tell me that I could not wear a shirt that has US Navy on the front because it depicted a battleship firing its guns and told my son in law who is a police officer that he could not carry his badge, which is inside a wallet in his back pocket, because it may be “ofennsive”. We refused to comply and an Orange County deputy who was nearby lambasted the security people. We eventually were allowed to to in but were warned not to “upset” other guests, whatever that means. This just goes to show why many cast members are now calling it Woke Disney World.

    1. William

      Nope. Didn’t happen. Sorry.

      1. AH

You were there to know how?

        1. Joem

Story just doesn’t pass the smell test.

      2. Mike Mulaney

I was behind this guy and it totally did happen! They they told me my knee length shorts were “too long” and handed me a pair of scissors! Outrageous!

      3. Bob cheapric

I was behind this guy and it totally DID happen! Then they told me my knee length shorts were too long and handed me a pair of scissors. I was wearing a full mech suit so walking back to my car was out of the question. I was forced to turn my Sunday shorts into Daisy Dukes for these jack boots!

        1. Your mom

I was behind this guy and it totally DID happen. They told me my knee length shorts were too long and handed me a pair of scissors. Then they told me my crop top was also too long and to cut that as well. Outrageous!

      4. Bib

Bye bye Disney. Wonderful life experiences to spend my time and money on other than Disney. Was sad, was frustrated, was disappointed…. But to much woke ness at Disney. Feel it has become un-American to spend your money at these evil woke corporations.

    2. Daniel

Nice bait man, trying to get vets pissed but everything you said was a lie

      1. AH

        You were there I guess.

        1. Ryan

I really doubt someone is going to say anything about a Navy shirt with ships firing or telling a police officer he can’t his badge in because it may “upset” others. And how did they even know he had a badge unless he showed it to them. I’ve never had to remove any of my stuff from my pockets at DS. People don’t care and if this is true then you needed to report them to the security people directly but I have worn my Navy shirts with ships on them and NEVER has anyone said anything.
And if you believe this then you need to reevaluate your thinking.

    3. Laura

How did the Disney Springs security see your son in law’s badge from inside their wallet, inside their pocket?? Or even know it was there?

      1. AH

        Metal detecter.

        1. Joem

Story just doesn’t pass the smell test.

        2. Tiffany

You realize Orange County is red right?? Yeah, this didn’t happen at all.

      2. AH

        metal detected by scanner.

        1. Laura

My mistake, I had assumed they meant when they were already in.

        2. Amber

You put your wallet on the table next to the scanner before you walk through. No one has ever opened or touched my husband’s wallet.

      3. Anonymous

Thorough searching. When I went they looked in every nook and cranny of my purse.

        1. Laura

Sounds like security is very inconsistent. They only really searched large bags when I was there last year.

        2. Ryan

A purse yes as long as they have reason. We went and it set off the alarm because the charge inside was plugged into the phone. ONce we unplugged it it didn’t go off. They don’t just go through and when they do they don’t go through it “nook and cranny”

      4. Roma

I went to a theme park in Oklahoma and had security go through my wallet to check for weapons before. Its not totally unbelievable

    4. I was one of the first to Disneyland when it opened and remember the dress code! No jeans or white tee shirts, and I remember having to wear a skirt or dress. No bags No alcohol No smoking. You had to be well behaved too. My only issue with Disney is the prices, so many kids, families can’t afford it.Walt would be sadly disappointed!

      1. Kat r ina

I have ALWAYS agreed with your comment. Yes, Walt was a kind, and generous man. I e loved children, and would have allowed for all families to visit!

        1. Joe

And how would Disney be able to handle crowd sizes if the prices were lower? I get the sentiment, and yes, It would be GREAT if everyone could visit, but reality is it isn’t possible. The park has a capacity limit, and the only way to truly control the crowd size is with price. It sucks, but what other way are they going to prevent the parks from being at capacity every single day, making the experience miserable for everyone. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Disney on a day they hit capacity, but it is NOT a fun experience. Wait times for everything is ridiculously long, takes forever to get food. And heaven forbid if they have parade and you want to get from one side of the park to the other. It’s so packed you can barely move.

I don’t know what the best answer is to help allow more people experience the parks, but I do know dropping the prices is NOT the answer and would just make the experience bad for everyone.

          1. Jeffrey Battaglia

There is a registration for Parks now and they watch numbers at the gates. Very easy to control crowd sizes. Also if you want to mention Park hopper there is the App that Disney can post on to say what Parks are closed due to capicity.

    5. Jay

In all the times I’ve been to Disney Springs I have never had pass through security to enter, except for the temp checks that they were doing. So I’m gonna call a big b.s. on this.

      1. LGB

Unless you were there you can just chill Karen. The horror stories I have heard from cast members I know and the horror stories I have seen first hand would be impossible to not believe. However, since you are woke I guess it’s just as well.

        1. nevaeRnanRevaR

I don’t think that means what you think it means.. Lol. You’re the Karen here.
I hate cops, I would of been offended.. 🤣 🤣

        2. Bib

          Well said.

Just can’t spend time or money there anymore.

          Woke feels UN American

      2. AL

If you drive into Disney Springs they make you go through security. If you take the bus or boat then you do not have to pass through security. We stay on property and usually bus or boat, but we drove once in December and they made us pass through security when entering from the parking garage.

      3. Ashley

The last time I went was on Christmas Day; there was absolutely a security check. Had to walk through metal detectors AND I was the only woman stopped with my three kids to check my bag. So yes sir there are security checks.

    6. I’d also like to add that my wife was told she wasn’t allowed to speak unless spoken to by a man. My daugther was taken aside and asked to confirm she did not have her child out of wedlock. Security said my elderly wife was too frail and they took her out and “retired” her with the old rides. Then I saw security let in some left wing liberals for free and they were given $1000 gift certificates and gold medals for bravery.

      1. Gillian

I get that if this happened to the person that it sucks for them. But how is not allowing a booster seat into the park make them money hungry? Lol I mean… It does seem like they’re more money hungry these days…. But not because of this. What a stupid title 🤦🏻‍♀️

      2. Katrina

        Ha, ha!!!

    7. Sunny

This didn’t happen so much that it unhappened things that did.

    8. Chris

I had a short power strip in my bag that I use when commuting that they said I couldn’t take in.
We went out and hid it in a bush and picked it up on our way out.

    9. Carys

Rubbish. I’ve seen to many shirts and hats for the NRA in both the park and Disney Springs. Not to mention surreptitiously bigot shirts using thing like Corinthians 2 on them os saying ‘Jesus Died For Me’ on them. Yuck.

  3. George

I was waiting in line to enter Animal Kingdom over Christmas holiday behind a little girlthat I had seen inthe parking lot insisting on taking her Mickey Mouse balloon into the park. A cast member came out and informed the family that balloons are not allowed in the park because they might frighten the animals. The cast member gave the Dad a claim ticket to get it back when they left the park. All done with courtesy and respect. Why couldn’t this other guy have done that?

    1. Ryan

      Because it’s all made up.

      1. Carys

Probably a group that didn’t bother reading the rules as balloons and plastic straws are not allowed in AK because if a balloon floated away and got into where animals are they could be eaten and kill the animals

    2. LC

Balloons are not allowed in Animal Kingdom because it is considered a “choking hazard” to the animals, which is also why they do not allow plastic straws or lids in Animal Kingdom.

  4. Paul Stirewalt

They probably can’t find great help anymore. That’s why they are lowering their standards.

    1. Chris

You get the quality of employee that you pay for.

  5. Lee

They were given the option to take it back to their car. I don’t understand the outrage , they weren’t made to throw it away that was their choice not to take the extra time to go back to the car. Disney park , Disney rules , like it or leave , not that hard ….

    1. Kate

And in the case where they took an Uber/Lyft? Or Disney transportation?
Instead the cast member could have offered some sort of check-in or locker option so they’re not throwing away actual property.
And it was her purse. So all her things she might need for the day were likely in it. So now she’s got to figure out what to do with her other belongings.
It wasn’t handled well at all. And it’s not even clear on the rules if that kind of item is prohibited.

      1. Matt

There are also lockers in the commons that they could have used.

        1. Amber

No, there are not lockers before you go through security at Disneyland.

    2. Cecilia Rabalais

Last time we went to Disney World, before Covid, my daughter was asked to change her 1 year old’s shirt because it was offensive. It had a saying on it like “My mommy thinks I’m cute.”
Apparently, the shirt supposedly called every other kid “ugly.”
And, they weren’t nice about it either.
So, I can see the battleships. As for the badge, how dare you carry yours on you! What were you trying to do? Intimidate the wanna be cops by keeping your badge hidden? Lol
We have seen a constant decline in the park. We had to wait over six hours for our room to be cleaned for us to check in. We arrived at 1 p.m.
I can only imagine how bad it is now with a limited staff.
My niece took her son recently, they would go every two years, and said she will not be returning the experience was so bad. And on top of everything, she was disgusted with all the extra charges.
She was waiting for her hotel bill to include a fee for toilet paper. The outrage is the car seat was a fold up and didn’t take up anymore room than a diaper bag, and was being used to carry the child’s necessities.
Also, as pointed out, what about people who need to take a Uber to the park? What are they supposed to do with their car seats? That is why the park has rentable lockers.
He also brought the car seat into the park the day before.
The outrage is that car seats are not on the list of prohibited items.
The outrage is being told to toss out an expensive child carrier as it cost nothing and endangering the child’s life on the ride back to and from the park and/or home.
The outrage is the lack of security training and the left hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.
My daughter, pre covid, was told to change her 1 year old’s shirt. Before we could enter the park because it said, ” My mom thinks I’m the cutest.” She was told that the shirt was offensive and calling all other kids ugly.
      Really?
Inside, we saw numerous shirts that were much more offensive with suggestive pictures or sayings.
The outrage is the inconsistency of the security guards training. The outrage is the attitude of some security guards, who think they are above the rest.
      That’s the outrage.

    3. Travis Weberling

Last time I checked, We are the customers & they need us more than we need them, Sooner or Later, the Disney Corporate Office & it’s parks are going to be coming to realizing that fact.

    4. Nick B

Clearly you haven’t made the venture from car to front gate before. It’s essentially like saying why don’t you just come back and try again tomorrow.

  6. Tiffany

I recently went to Disneyland for 5 days on a broken ankle. So I had one of those fabulous ECV’s. But I also needed my crutches to get on and off rides. Or to be able to walk in the smaller stores. The only way I could think to attach my crutches were with a bungie chord and strap them to the back of my ECV. It had not been a problem the first 3 days. And then one day (the only day I entered the park alone) they told me bungie chords were not allowed in the park. After speaking with multiple security explaining I was using them to hold my crutches on and I needed my crutches and waiting 15 mins for security to speak to a couple other members I was finally given the okay for that day only. Well the next day I got through security again just fine. The incosistancy is ridiculous. And the lack of empathy and common sense is not how it used to be.

  7. DisneyGrammy

SURPRISE!! Disney has rules. If you don’t like those rules you don’t have to go to Disney.

    1. Yidabid

Agree. people seem to feel entitled to do whatever they please with little regard to others. And when they get pushback so that things remain nice for the masses, they run to the internet and whine about it.

    2. Phil

You’re the reason tyranny takes hold.

      1. S

tyranny, because there are rules at disneyland. thanks for the laugh

      2. Ryan

So the rule is no carseats like this and her excuse was that she was using it as a diaper bag. So you have child wearing diapers in a car seat that isn’t even a seat approved for diaper age children (since they must be in a three point harness, facing backwards) so her excuse that it’s a diaper bag sort of throws the argument out the window. if you’re child is in a car seat then you have a normal diaper bag also. This story is false on all levels. They should have asked to speak to a supervisor and then gone to guest services but nope, they complied and then cried online.

        1. Dr. Gonzo

Oh stfu already, dude. You’re on here constantly whining about it being “false” when you weren’t even there.

Get over the ridiculous, ignorant obsession already and stop being a dbag.

      3. nevaeRnanRevaR

You’re the reason I despise old people.

    3. Travis Weberling

& guess what?It may come to that point where LESS people will be showing up at the Disney Parks, hotels & etc.

  8. Pete

Apparently they don’t allow booster seats and the first security officer didn’t recognize the item as a booster seat. When the second one inquired “is that a booster seat?” the magic answer (with 20/20 hindsight) was probably “no, it’s a diaper bag” rather than “yes, but it makes a good diaper bag.” Another reader’s suggestion of withdrawing and then coming back and entering via a different line, now armed with the “correct” answer, would probably have worked.

    1. Laura

My thought exactly. If it’s primary use to them was not actually a booster seat, “no, it’s our diaper bag” would’ve been the easy answer.

      1. Ryan

So, if they have a child wearing diapers, why not have a normal diaper bag? This is NOT an approved car seat for a diaper age child. They must be in a 3point restraint, facing backwards. This is NOT a car seat, nor booster seat. A child in a booster seat does NOT wear diapers.

        1. omnichad

You can buy things and not use them for what they’re made for.

I own an emory board file and I only use it to clean corroded battery contacts. Call the police.

        2. Brian

Who says they only have one child?

  9. kagunter9

Pre-Covid we were at animal kingdom and had been previously during our trip. During security screening I showed them my DJI gimbal and was asked if it extended. I said no, which it did not extend. Since we were so early we were one of the first groups lined up at the band scan post. One of the supervisors in a very harsh tone told me it wasn’t allowed and that I would have to check it. I’ve honestly never been spoken to that way by any cast member. The lines opened and I walk to guest services and the guy yelled at me. My dad at this point had enough and screamed back that I was going to guest services like he asked. I know everyone has bad days or maybe forgets stuff in a backpack but it’s very inconsistent.

    1. S

it’s pretty well-known that you can’t have selfie sticks, or things that resemble them, at disney. i’m sorry they were rude to you, but this one isn’t really that outrageous. it’s a widely known rule

  10. Mason

Wait doesn’t Disney sell toy guns?

  11. Rachel Winiecki

Apparently the only TOY Guns allowed in Disney is the Toy Guns DISNEY SELLS????????

  12. Joem

Story just doesn’t pass the smell test.

    1. Dr. Gonzo

You keep saying the same fn thing, you nimrod.

Stfu or get new fn material, @sshat.

  13. Rev. John Novak

First off why would anyone what to take their family
To any of the Disney theme parks they are not family
Friendly anymore there movies and other media outlets
Have put inclusiveness over family values and morals.
Now you have lgbht and transgender characters
And they try to make it a normalcy in life no it is not
If I had kids I would not expose them to that unhealthy
    Lifestyle

    1. S

no one cares, and that isn’t what this discussion is about. take a hike.

    2. S

this isn’t what this discussion is about. take a hike

    3. Noel

Disney has more value and moral in the first five minutes of Hamilton or Encanto than you probably ever have had or will have in your life.

    4. Ryan

Wow. My family is Christian but we love Disney so are you saying that because we do we aren’t Christian because YOU don’t like some of the values of Disney? Not to sound ugly but you are taking it a little over the top. I know that thousands of Christians go to Disney each day! Even our own assoicate pastor goes with his kids!! Glad you don’t have kids but then again, they’d be raised in a strict house and have no life, but again, that is my opinion since you feel all Christians should feel the same way as you.

    5. Pagan

There’s no hate like Christian love…

    6. Brian

Inclusiveness is family values and morals.

  14. Anonymous For A Reason

There are rules that must be followed… the problems are the inconsistancies in administering them. With that said, my comment has more to do with the mistreatment of greeters, security officers…. all cast members. I have someone close to me who is a greeter… I cannot even count the times this person has come home beyond upset. A guest cannot take alcoholic drinks out of the park, especially Epcot…. it has to do with Disney’s boundaries and liabilities. While telling guests they must either sit & finish their drinks or throw them out upon departure, my friend has had drinks dumped out at their feet, thrown at them, or are summarily cursed out…. flipped off, stomped towards. Why the guests don’t just sit down & finish the drink is beyond me. The other issue is the touchpoints. There are those that refuse to touch them…. the “government is collecting fingerprints” or its dirty. (Love the government one). The touchpoints are frequently wiped down & there’s Purell stations nearby. People still get angry…. some furious. Greeters will explain you don’t have to do the touchpoints, BUT you DO have to go to guest services to sign paperwork of declining to touch & assuring you do have passes. Well, that triggers some fury & greeters at these touchpoints can be cursed at, the person refuses to move creating longer lines, or on a number of occasions…. spit on. Yes, spit on. I wish everyone knew someone who worked at a park, resort & could hear what cast members go through sometimes. Not all the time but in today’s world, more often than you’d think. I can’t explain guests’ actions lately, but I do know cast members, which there is a shortage of, are taking more abuse than they ever have. What I do know is that these cast members cannot react…. no arguing, no raising their voices, no moving in towards the guest. These cast members have to remain calm and take it. We’ve all seen recent videos showing the abuse cast members take while trying to calmly encourage guests’s to comply with Disney guidelines. So many guests these days seem to push that entitlement button faaAAAar too much (not only at cast members but one another, as well.) Let’s remember who we are…. we’re all better than current behaviors have shown. Remember cast members are just trying to do their jobs. Yes, their job…. cast members are NOT there fooling around…. it’s their JOB. Try to be kinder to them…. to one another. Find your patience and be nice. Cast members deserve our respect. Let’s try harder.

    1. S

also, the inconsistencies are probably because these are human beings working at busy parks, not robots. they can’t catch everything. and we also can’t guarantee that every person there cares enough to do the job properly. if disney wants them to care enough to do a stellar job, maybe they should pay them more. a lot of these people live paycheck to paycheck. imagine coming to work already under that type of stress, and then being yelled at and even spit on. where’s the motivation to even care?

  15. Bob cheapric

When they asked if it was a booster seat why did you say “yes” ya dummy!

  16. Rob Crawford

Based on smells at Disneyland, they do a horrible job keeping pot out AND at keeping smoking to restricted areas.

  17. The point is the inconsistently and lack of common sense. I work security (not disney) some people I work work get over the top with the power.

  18. George Babinchak

Why didnt they just get a locker

    1. Noel

      Lockers are inside security checkpoints.

      1. Richard

First 2 days at Disneyland they let me bring in my speaker that I use to charge our phones but on the 3rd day they said speakers are not allowed in the park. I had to take it back to the hotel

  19. Kathy

My daughter an I once were hassled about our service dogs. We had been there MANY times with them and never had a problem. A very new, not very well trained, security person kept insisting that she didn’t think our dogs were “real” service dogs in spite of the fact that they had their tags, vests and badges. They were also behaving perfectly but my daughter’s dog set off the metal detector because she had metal on her collar. I had already told security about the metal and offered to take off her collar before she went through but the security guard said it was ok. Then when the detector went off, as expected, the officer went a little crazy and kept bashing my daughters’ arms up with the hand held detector and called in her boss. I told him our dogs were medical alert and answered many questions that they legally had no right to ask but I answered them. I think he thought the other security officer had over reacted but he had to deal with it. I commanded our dogs to sit as several security personal surrounded us. Then the guy in charge said our dogs weren’t acting like service dogs. I asked him why and he said they seemed nervous. I told him that my daughter’s dog was trying to alert us that my daughter was having a medical problem. I also told him that his FIVE personnel that were surrounding us were creating a very personal hostile vibe. He told several of them to leave. He yapped at us a few minutes and let us through. But as he watched us walk around the plaza I think he realized that I was right when I told him his people, and he, needed a little more training when it came to service dogs.

  20. Amanda Pauly

My son is Autistic and bright a hacky sack in. He doesn’t play with it…it’s for sensory so it holds and squeezes it. We went in first. They told him he couldn’t have it and turned him away. Before i knew it, i turned around and my son was missing. He tried to walk back to the hotel. When security found him they decided to let him keep up. It should’ve never happen in the first place

    1. Ryan

I doubt security would have made your son throw a hacky sack away and turned him away.

  21. Nick B

They should just cave and make it the same rules as sporting events, clear bags only.

  22. Noel

There is more to this story than she is saying. They wouldn’t have guessed a diaper bag is a booster seat out of the blue and definitely would not have told her to throw a diaper bag away. Sounds suspicious and I’m not buying it.

  23. Aldridge

It’s sad this is all people have to write about nowadays. As if many want to hear about such little minor inconsistencies.

  24. I was told to throw away a new bubble gun in the package. This was a few years ago. They used to sell the exact same ones in the park with extra bubbles. Now they only sell wands because they don’t want anything that looks like a weapon.

  25. UberChemist

The Disney employees (I’m not going to call them cast members anymore, because Walt’s idea is dead) love telling guests to stick it now. They’re openly hostile.

  26. Ian

Hahaha. They think they are real cops. What an absolute joke.

  27. Anon

I accidently left a knife in my backpack one time and nobody said a word. I had one in my pocket one time and never had anything said to me. Wife accidentally left her concealed gun in her purse at disney springs. Went the entire day with a gun on us and nobody knew a thing.

  28. M

I’m sure some of the people on here will say I’m making this up but preCOVID I was wearing a skin colored security belt under my jeans. I used it for international travel before and never had to remove it for airport screening since it’s flat and just holds my money, ID card, credit card. Plus no metal. I used it so I didn’t have to carry a purse into Disney. They saw a bit of it peaking above my jeans. Could have been underwear with how it looked. (Again, it was flat and I was still quite thin). They asked what it was, I said my security belt. They told me I had to fully take it off. I told them I can open it and show them it’s just cash and 2 cards. They said it must be fully removed. I had to unbutton and unzip my tight jeans to get it off. It was so embarrassing. I don’t do well with confrontation though so I complied, even when someone with me was telling me to refuse. I was so rattled and went to guest relations after to report it at the urging of that friend since if really felt like I was being forced to strip in public. Guest relations gave me fast passes and told me that the security was contracted out so they couldn’t do anything more. I’m not going to say all security is like this but I will believe people’s stories until proven false. All those saying the stories are false, your tune will change if it happens to you or someone you love. When that happens, I doubt you will remember to return and apologizing for telling people who have traumatic experiences that they are lying though.

I guess we need paid for Lockers at the Entrance (well that would make Team Disney Anaheim more money – lol!) vs just toss it in the trash (aka oh hey look at all the freebies Security can claim later!) if I tell you to (because who’s going to waste time going back to their vehicle!) …. oh and where was Security when Disneyland needed them on July 5, 2019 in ToonTown ? That Family was beating each other up for way too long (it took the intervention of other Park Guests to thwart it!) before Security even arrived – talk about epic fail!

I have to walk with a cane because of a back injury, which at the time was still fairly fresh (about a year old.) My favorite ridiculous disney security story was a guy looking at it and insisting at first I couldn’t have it (because I look young and I have a nice cane people often assume it is a fashion accessory, which usually doesn’t bother me.) then when I said I needed it to walk, he insisted it much be concealing a weapon and that he would have to dismantle it to prove it was ‘clean’. I was like ‘sure thing buddy but imma have to lean heavily on this table while you do that.’ So he sits there and wastes everyone’s time screwing the hand grip off the rest of the cane to find *gasp* solid wood. I didn’t say anything snide or anything, but I am bitter after this he STILL had an attitude and refused to apologize. Bonus points we were there to celebrate my MIL becoming officially cancer free, and he was treating us both like we were faking our disabilities. Literally no other security person questioned my cane.

I don’t get it. You’re bringing a BOOSTER SEAT to Disneyland? Why? It’s perfectly reasonable that Disney says no. What next, do you want to bring a sofa and a picnic umbrella? The entitlement of people today is shocking.

      Stfu you absolute tool.

I had one of these and brought it everywhere even Disney when my child was young because it was/is a high chair not a booster for a car and the ones in the park just didn’t cut it because he could easily wiggle out whereas this kind is a 3 point harness and also attached to a regular dining chair eliminating the need to have that extra high chair in the walkway since we are only a family of 3. It was used throughout our first trip. The extra pouches are also awesome for stashing snacks.

I would have just said that my child had back problems and the booster seat was to help with her disability. You don’t have to disclose a disability. I have a service dog and I don’t even tell them what my disability is. I just say he is a service dog, show his registration, and walk right on in to places. They are free to ask you what his purpose is, but you do not have to answer. Calling ahead makes the process easier though.

I went to Disney long before all the COVID panic started.

Totally not worth the far too much money spent. Literally the only thing I remember is standing in line after line under the hot sun being bored out of my mind.

I wasn’t turned away for my disabilities. I was forced to rent a wheel chair.
Essentially, this cost more to be a guest. I did not appreciate being in a wheel chair as that is not specific for my disabilities. Where do you get off making people pay more for something they don’t really need?
I presented my handicap placard information. I did not roll up in a wheel chair.
I have limits but feel it is tragic to be forced to do something like this. Do you have a qualified medical doctor on staff, because I’m sure the people I spoke with just wanted me to put on a show for the rest of your guests. It’s wrong on so many levels. I will not return to your establishment because of this.

One December we went to Disneyland and bought a jingle bell on a necklace for my wife. The next day she wore it and we got stopped at security and told she could not wear it. Even though we had just bought it inside the park. Security said it was considered a noise maker and would disturb others listening to the music on Main St. How can they sell something inside the park but you can’t bring it back inside?

Once while heading to Disneyland security at the bag check wouldn’t let me take my Keychain in. It was our 3rd day and this was the first time anyone said anything about it. We were told to either turn it over or take it back to our car. Even better was it was bought at Disneyland! It was a Buzz Lightyear astro blaster that was about 2-3 inches big. But they said it looks like a weapon.

I smoke cigarettes. And one day when going to the park it was super windy so I took a torch with me to light my smokes. Outside of the park of course. I had been in and out of the park several times already without it being an issue until i was on my way back into the park for my third time or so right before dinner my family was already waiting for me at the restaurant and had ordered my food too. Thinking I’d be on my way in in a few minutes.. but when I got up to the security check the dude told me I couldn’t take my torch in this time even though it was a small one and not very powerful or anything not much more than a lighter really. They said I had to throw it wmaway or go take it back to my hotel since I walked to the park and didn’t have a car i could go put it in. I had more than one torch on me though but they had only seen the one so far so I said I’d take it back to my room instead of throwing it away. I had to go find somewhere I could hide it because walking back to my hotel would take way to long and my food was already getting cold so I hid it somewhere along the walking path instead to grab when I left the park for the night. But it was funny to me because every other time I went through security the person would pull out the torch ask me what it was I told then I had because of how windy it was for when I smoked before going knto the park and they all said okay. One lady even lit it to see how powerful it was and made the joke of not lighting anything on fire and let me go I’m. But this one dude wasn’t having it. And was really rude about it too. When he told me I had to throw it away in fact they almost didn’t give it back to me they were ready to throw it away without even giving me the option to take it back I had to ask them if i could have it back to take back to my room and for a second I thought they were gonna tell me no…. but then after like a minute of then not answering they gave it back to me. It was ridiculous and the next day I didn’t have a single problem with taking it into the park either just that one time with that one dude.

Oh yes. We had a bubble blower that apparently looked like a gun. I was forced to take it out of my little girl’s hands and throw it in the trash. Went into a bunch of the stores and saw toy guns, swords, cannons, etc EVERYWHERE. But whatever, just ruin the magic for my two-year-old.

Security has been hit and miss lately. Sometimes we get waved through with a quick check and othet times they scrutinize everything we have.

One time I had thrown a tiny screw driver and some batteries in our bag for my sons bubble blower. The Security was so slow that day it took over half an hour to get to the guard. He asked me what it was for, I told him and he said i had to take it back to the car. Instead i handed it to him and said you deal with it then. He looked shocked and asked why i dont want to take it back to the car. I told him you are so slow it will take me another hour to get to the park for a 25 cent screwdriver. It was 3 inches long total including thr handle. Because you know us parents might go on a stabby spree on main street.
